The Best Jobs Without A College Degree 2017 (In One Simple Chart)

The Great Recession destroyed the job market for workers without college degrees, and the situation hasn’t gotten any better.

This begs the question - can you still enjoy a high standard of living without a college degree? And what are the highest paying jobs for people without a traditional higher education?

This new chart, from HowMuch.net, sheds some light on these pressing questions.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics tracks which professions do not require a college education, how many people currently hold those jobs, and their median salaries. We combined this information into a scatter plot graph. The more dots you see, the more people work in that profession. And the higher the dots on the vertical axis, the more money they make.

You can quickly see some pretty interesting trends. There are a lot of people without college degrees who make a great living. The median household income in the U.S. is $56,516. By that standard, all the jobs on our chart pay well above average.

Specialization is the key to earning a high wage, especially in an area that cannot be outsourced. Elevator installers, power plant operators, transportation inspectors—these are all professions that require a high level of skill and must be done in person by someone with years of experience and certifications. Regardless of how automation affects the economy, you won’t ever be able to replace jobs like firefighting and law enforcement, despite what futuristic movies like Minority Report may have you believe.

Top Ten Highest Paying Jobs Without Needing a Degree 

1. Nuclear power reactor operator - $91,170 (salary) & 7,170 (workers)

2. Transport manager - $89,190 (salary) & 113,270 (workers)

3. Police supervisor - $84,840 (salary) & 100,200 (workers)

4. Power distributor - $81,900 (salary) & 11,380 (workers)

5. Elevator installer - $78,890 (salary) & 22,240 (workers)

6. Detective - $78,120 (salary) & 104,980 (workers)

7. Commercial pilot - $77,200 (salary) & 38,980 (workers)

8. Media equipment worker - $75,700 (salary) & 18,620 (workers)

9. Electrician - $75,670 (salary) & 23,060 (workers)

10. Power plant operator - $74,690 (salary) & 35,010 (workers)

And now, a word of caution. The top 25 professions where you don’t need a college degree only employ about 1.4 million people. That’s a lot of people, but the entire working population in the U.S. is over 205 million people. In other words, these jobs not only demand years of experience and specialization, but they’re also pretty rare. And don’t be mistaken: you may not need a college degree, but you do need some type of post-secondary training. You can’t just graduate high school and start your own electrical company. You have to work as an apprentice or join a training program first.

That being said, it’s still possible for people without a formal college education to earn a respectable salary. The big takeaway from our chart is that you want to be in a position that can’t easily be replaced through automation or outsourcing. If you can find a career like that, then you’re in good shape to enjoy a high standard of living.

Today is Labor Day, a difficult day to celebrate now that American labor has been cast aside and US jobs offshored and given to foreigners.

The remainder of the jobs is slated to be replaced by robotics.

Friday’s payroll jobs report was full of bad news. Full-time jobs declined by 166,000. The meager 156,000 new jobs claimed are really only 115,000 net of the prior month’s revision, and this 115,000 jobs estimate is within the range of statistical insignificance. In other words, there is no confidence that the jobs are actually there.

The US work force continues to develop a Third Word complexion of lowly paid part-time domestic service employment.

The American Dream continues its closedown.

Meanwhile the government tells us that we are at full employment with an unemployment rate of 4.4%.

Where The May Jobs Were: It Was All About Minimum Wage Again

If May was supposed to be the "tiebreaker" month, after a disastrous March and a solid (if now downward revised) April, then the US economy is not doing well: with only 138K jobs added in the past month, while over 200K actual jobs were lost (per the Household Survey), it was no surprise that the biggest missing link of the so-called recovery, wage growth, was simply not there again.

How is it that with the labor market supposedly near full employment, and the unemployment rate sliding to a post 2001 low of 4.3%, wages simply can not rise?

The answer was once again to be found in the quality of jobs added because in addition to the previously noted plunge in full-time jobs, the biggest in three years, the granular detail from the BLS revealed that all the jobs growth was again in low or minimum-wage sectors such as education and health, which added 47,000, leisure and hospitality up 31,000 jobs of which food services and drinking places workers, aka waiters and bartenders, added another +30,300. Temp help services, by definition the lowest paying job category, added another 12,900 jobs. Combined, these three minimum-wage categories accounted for two-thirds of all April job gains.

Looking at retail workers, which have suffered steep job losses recently as a result of the widespread shuttering of bricks-and-morter outlets, the BLS revised the reported rebound in the last two months, converting it into a job loss. As a result, retail workers have dropped for 4 consecutive months, and at 15.836 million, have dropped to 11 month lows.

Another notable observation: after rising by 11,000 last month, manufacturing workers declined once again, down 1,000 jobs, the first drop in the sector since last October.

Some further observations on the job breakdown, courtesy of Southbay Research:

• Healthcare (+32K): As expected, with ACA repeal dead, Healthcare hiring returns


• Leisure/Hospitality (+31K): As expected, restaurant demand kicks in


• Professional Services ex temp (+25K): As expected, relatively mild Temp worker demand


• Construction (+11K): Mild weather pulled in payrolls, leaving little for May


• Financial (+11K): Housing boom continues to drive financial payrolls


• Transportation (+4K): Supply chain pressure and manufacturing pause slowed demand for trucking


• Manufacturing (-1K): Factories hit the pause button (Trump rhetoric not yet translating into actual activity boost)


• Wholesale (-2K): Consistent with general macro trends (lack of inflation, retail supply chain pressure, inventory pressure)


• Retail (-6K): Grocery store and brick-and-mortar store pressure

He Was Fired Because He Was Homeschooled

An Alabama man lost his job simply because he was homeschooled.

“Homeschool diplomas are not recognized as legitimate or accredited in the state of Alabama,” and homeschool students “must receive a GED to have a true graduation,” a statement from the unidentified employer obtained by the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSDLA) read.

The company fired the man, referred to as just “Jacob,” after a third-party background check revealed he was homeschooled.

The employer stated that the man “must receive a GED to have a true graduation.”

Fortunately, the man got his job back after HSDLA attorney Dan Beasley contacted the company and told them they had violated Section 16-11.4 of the Code of Alabama, which bans discrimination against homeschooled people and says homeschooling is a legitimate form of education.

“I wanted to send you a message and say thank you for all of your help,” the man’s mother told the HSDLA. “Jacob got a call asking him to come back to his job . . . This is a blessing, and we owe it all to your professionalism and persistence. Thank you again.”

Said HSLDA, “While this story has a happy ending, there are still many homeschool graduates in Alabama and across the country who are being discriminated against. For example, a statute mandating that candidates for jobs as peace officers hold diplomas from accredited or approved high schools means homeschool graduates who wish to serve as peace officers in Alabama must take the GED.”

Comply Or Lose Your Job- HR 1313 Would Force Vaccinations and DNA Submission (VIDEO)

A new bill, HR 1313, has been introduced by North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Foxx which is designed to give employers absolute power over the employee by mandating whatever they deem to be proper “heath prevention” measures. These measures would include submitting DNA records as well as mandatory vaccinations and other perceived “health preventive” measures designed for the “greater good” of the general public. The result of not complying with this new law of course would be losing your job.

This kind of legislation thus gives large corporations government-like political status and god-like powers over the individual and further widens the gap between the rich and poor. But even more importantly this kind of legislation strips away intimate individual medical privacy and further solidifies the global control grid being created by the ruling elite as they attempt to complete their new world order plans of permanent human enslavement. No need to imagine how this “future” new world order enslavement will look like anymore. We’re seeing it all being rolled out in real-time and in broad daylight for the world to see.

As I discuss in my video below, all of this is part of the Communist-Globalist “peaceful revolution” strategy which is designed to financially neutralize the individual by first making the individual financially dependent on the state or the rulers, and then the threat of having all their food and survival (work related) income taken away is enough to “peacefully” silence the individual into submission.

The National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) calls the H.R. 1313 bill a threat to both businesses and the people employed by them. Instead of allowing for free choice in health and wellness decisions, the legislation would attempt to implement a “carrot and stick” method for “strongly compelling” businesses and workers to accept the agendas of big pharma and its paid-off government officials.

The National Vaccine Information Center is urging concerned citizens to contact their own representatives and senators to express their views about H.R. 1313. When doing so, please remember to express your opinions intelligently and respectfully – you are far more likely to be heard if you are firm but polite when explaining your point of view.

All of this serves to remind us that science has been undermined by the ruling elite and that government pseudoscience has taken its place. This politicized science is then used to make claims which are then used to take away your rights. So first let’s be mindful of how this problem began and then let’s fight back with awareness, information-spreading and do what we can to introduce our own new bills to secure our right to privacy and health. Let’s remind both governments and large corporations that our right to natural health and personal physical and mental well being is inalienable and cannot be taken away.

Those Who Serve Are Not Protected

(ANTIMEDIA) He has one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. Before going on duty, he straightens his uniform, checks the lights on top of his car, and prepares for a long night of driving around the city and into some of the worst neighborhoods it has to offer. Every stop could be his last. Just wearing the uniform in some parts of the city makes him the target of armed robbers and gang members. He could get dragged out of his car and beat or shot while sitting at a traffic light. He’s there to serve you, the ungrateful public. In spite of the danger, if you call, he’s on his way… He’ll probably be there in 30 minutes of less.

No, you haven’t stumbled on to some pro-police state propaganda. He’s your favorite pizza delivery guy, and his job is more dangerous than being a police officer according the Bureau of Labor Statistics (being a cop isn’t even in the top ten). He gets paid less than the cop you thought we were talking about. He goes into the same neighborhoods as the cops, but most companies don’t allow him to be armed. Unlike the enhanced penalties for assaulting an officer, an attacker will probably face minimal charges. The driver doesn’t have anyone to call for back up. He doesn’t have a Kevlar vest. He doesn’t have a camera in his car to help identify his attacker. He has none of the protections a cop has, and his job is more dangerous.

If he kills someone because he was driving like an idiot, he goes to prison. If he defends himself with a firearm, he gets fired. If he kills a bystander when defending himself, he’ll go to prison. I can’t link an article for this because apparently Pizza delivery guys are better marksmen than cops, and I couldn’t find an example of this happening. Incidentally, I couldn’t find an example of a delivery driver killing someone that was unarmed either.

Why don’t Pizza delivery drivers get the same immunities cops have? After all, they’re just doing their jobs.

The answer is simple: propaganda. The American public is saturated by a constant barrage of propaganda that paints cops as America’s best and brightest, even though some departments intentionally hire or promote dumb cops. The propaganda serves to push the idea that American law enforcement is constantly a target, and because of past actions they are quickly becoming just that. Currently, they aren’t constant targets, not to the degree they will be if some form of accountability isn’t introduced.

The common defense is “all cops aren’t bad.” This might be true to some degree, however if a person watches injustice and says nothing because of a code of silence, they are a bad person. If a department terminates whistleblowers who report the crimes of other officers, the department is too corrupt to save and needs to be completely disbanded and the community needs to start over from scratch. With the direct targeting of law enforcement officers becoming something that actually happens outside of the movies, it is time for serious reform. The country is on the precipice of a truly violent upheaval. The American people have decided they will not take police brutality anymore. It’s time for serious reform, or we can expect to see more and more cops ambushed.

When someone who is “just doing their job” can rape and kill with total immunity, something is terribly wrong. The American people wouldn’t accept that a pizza delivery driver killed a kid speeding because he was just doing his job. Why should they accept that excuse from those who are paid to protect and serve?

On a side note, all that was said about the people that bring you your pizza is true. Tip well.
