Good Cop Leaks Video of Fellow Cop Torturing Handcuffed Man with a Taser — Guess Who’s in Trouble

Balch Springs, TX — Coming just weeks after Balch Springs Police Officer Roy Oliver killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards, was fired, and later arrested and charged with murder, another scandal has rocked the department. This time, it is torture with a taser.

Body camera footage was mailed to Fox4 News showing a Black man being tased while handcuffed. Thirty-nine-year-old Marco Stephenson was compliant, not resisting at all, and in handcuffs when the torture began.

The leaked body camera footage shows Stephenson with his hands raised above his head as officers approach. Balch Springs PD responded to a 911 call of a man brandishing a weapon.

Stephenson admitted he had a BB gun but denied threatening anyone with it. According to our experts in gang activities, criminals use BB and pellet guns to keep enemies at bay who are unaware the toys are not real.

Stephenson was handcuffed and told he was under arrest for threatening the community who’d called 911 to report him. He denied committing any crime but was, by all accounts, compliant with all officer commands.

He spit his toothpick into the grass which seemed to have set off the cops. He got a little mouthy with one of the officers (inaudible) and was immediately tased.

“Don’t pull away! You understand? You understand?” an unidentified sergeant on the video said as he was tasing Stephenson. “Don’t pull away! You get it?! You get it?! Because I ain’t playing with you today! Do you understand?!”

“Yes sir,” answered Stephenson as he again complied with officer commands. Yet the cop kept tasering him — even after he fell to the ground.

The incident apparently raised the eyebrows of fellow officers who promptly reported the incident to the sergeant’s superiors.

According to the Chief of Police for Balch Springs, the incident was reviewed by three different entities; Texas Rangers, Professional Standards and the Dallas County DA’s Public Integrity Unit.

Chief Jonathon Haber said, “We decided together that this was an administrative issue, not a criminal issue.” And since Stephenson didn’t file a complaint, no charges were brought against the officer.

While the department has a vocal supporter on their side, Reverend Ronald Wright, others apparently aren’t happy with the conclusions reached in the internal investigation and they are the ones who leaked the video to the press.

Wright said, “There was some things that were done that could have been kept quiet. But there was some officers that set an example of what all police departments should do.”

Now the chief is looking to see who leaked the video, seemingly more concerned about the Balch Springs PD’s image than with arresting another member of his police force.

Haber described Stephenson’s lengthy criminal record to reporters, citing the number of times he’d been arrested and processed in the jail system. But the video, coupled with the latest killing of an unarmed innocent child, leave more questions than answers.

Why did the department choose to keep someone on its force who’d tased a handcuffed compliant man? Why after whistleblowers turned him in was he not fired? And how and why did three law enforcement agencies arrive at the conclusion no crime had been committed?

It seems Haber is more interested in finding out who leaked the video to the press and firing that person than he is concerned with protecting the civil rights and liberties of Mr. Stephenson and others like him.

According to Chief Haber, the sergeant in question was reprimanded and put on “no contact with the public” until he completed courses in conflict resolution, anti-bias, and how to respond to mental health calls. All in all, he got away with tasing a handcuffed man without losing one day’s pay.

Something has to change with modern policing methods when officers are not charged for doing things to handcuffed suspects that the public cannot do to each other. Many consider it to be an example of a double standard at work for law enforcement. What would have happened had the taser killed Stephenson? Remember Graham Dyer and Gregory Towns? They weren’t as lucky as Stephenson.

Cop Arrested for Beating a Citizen in “One on One” Street Fight While on Duty, In Uniform

Springfield, IL — “I’m sorry ma’am. But you know what it is? I’m tired of getting talked to like that,” said Springfield, Illinois police officer Samuel Rosario, just after he gave a  19-year-old citizen a beat down and potentially threw away his law enforcement career. The encounter, recorded in its entirety from two different body cameras (Rosario’s and his fellow officer’s), shows officers responding to a domestic disturbance at the 2100 Block of East Stuart St.

Upon arrival, Rosario meets with the mother who says her 16-year-old daughter was upset and broke her glass table before storming off, out of the house, and down the road. While the officer was speaking, an unidentified man kept interrupting the conversation between the officer and the mother (name withheld as daughter is a juvenile).

When Rosario mentioned they would charge the daughter with a destruction of property charge, the man became angry and stated she should also be charged with domestic violence. It seems from the dialog in the video, the family wanted the daughter locked away for some extended period of time, possibly due to the ongoing conflict in the home.

That’s when it all escalated. Rosario fired back with a seemingly condescending conversation about the man’s knowledge of the law, and the man responded with wanting to know Rosario’s badge number. “If she ain’t getting at least two charges, I want both ya’ll badge numbers,” the man said which apparently infuriated the officer who seemed to maintain decorum and civility until the threat to file a police report was made.

Rosario then engaged the young man with talk about going to the police academy, being a lawyer and knowing the law, all of which, one could say, escalated the encounter needlessly. “Go back to Mexico, n*****,” someone said to which Rosario responded, “I ain’t from Mexico, you stupid motherf***er.”

Rosario seemed to enjoy jousting with the man and even began threatening to fight with the very person who was, at one point in the video, attempting to help the officer locate the wayward juvenile. “What do you want me to do for you to put some hands on me?” Rosario asked. Going further he questioned the man, “You want these hands? You can have ’em … you a b****.”

That’s when the officer further provoked the man into fighting. Rosario is seen walking toward the teen and appears to push him, saying, “Did I not just touch you?” That’s when the fight started, which apparently was all one-sided, meaning the officer took down the man and beat him quite viciously one might conclude. The mom can be heard saying, “He started it first, police did…the rookie started first…that’s assault and battery.”

From his partner’s body cam footage, the backup officer appears to attempt to make an arrest but Rosario called him off and implied not to arrest the young man. That’s when the gloating began. “Dude, I felt bad for you, that’s why I stopped hitting you,” Rosario said.

The altercation took place on February 27th. Springfield police reportedly stated another officer who was not involved in the incident, did what The Free Thought Project has been encouraging other good cops to do, and turned on the so-called bad apple officer, informing the police department of the incident. Following up on the tip, Springfield police investigated and the bully cop was arrested and charged with two counts of battery and one count of official misconduct on February 28th.

The Illinois State Police were called in and recently concluded their criminal investigation into the matter. The Springfield Police Department issued a statement which reads in part, “This incident does not depict the actions of the hard-working men and women of the Springfield Police Department.”

From our analysis of the complete bodycam video uploaded to YouTube, Officer Rosario hit the man 12 times in the head. It should be obvious to anyone viewing the video, the officer had lost control. He made reference to a bracelet he wore which to him implied his true patriotism, so it may be the officer is a veteran of one of the many wars in which our country is engaged. Hopefully, he can get the help he needs to be able to control his anger and find a new career path, but one which is not in law enforcement.

According to NBC News, “Officer Rosario has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation. Official misconduct is a Class 3 felony which is punishable by 2 to 5 years in prison.”

“Can’t find a single thing to justify the actions of this ‘officer’. This is not a cop,” said Izzo. “This is a savage who snuck past all psychological testing to further help the hate against us.”

Those Who Serve Are Not Protected

(ANTIMEDIA) He has one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. Before going on duty, he straightens his uniform, checks the lights on top of his car, and prepares for a long night of driving around the city and into some of the worst neighborhoods it has to offer. Every stop could be his last. Just wearing the uniform in some parts of the city makes him the target of armed robbers and gang members. He could get dragged out of his car and beat or shot while sitting at a traffic light. He’s there to serve you, the ungrateful public. In spite of the danger, if you call, he’s on his way… He’ll probably be there in 30 minutes of less.

No, you haven’t stumbled on to some pro-police state propaganda. He’s your favorite pizza delivery guy, and his job is more dangerous than being a police officer according the Bureau of Labor Statistics (being a cop isn’t even in the top ten). He gets paid less than the cop you thought we were talking about. He goes into the same neighborhoods as the cops, but most companies don’t allow him to be armed. Unlike the enhanced penalties for assaulting an officer, an attacker will probably face minimal charges. The driver doesn’t have anyone to call for back up. He doesn’t have a Kevlar vest. He doesn’t have a camera in his car to help identify his attacker. He has none of the protections a cop has, and his job is more dangerous.

If he kills someone because he was driving like an idiot, he goes to prison. If he defends himself with a firearm, he gets fired. If he kills a bystander when defending himself, he’ll go to prison. I can’t link an article for this because apparently Pizza delivery guys are better marksmen than cops, and I couldn’t find an example of this happening. Incidentally, I couldn’t find an example of a delivery driver killing someone that was unarmed either.

Why don’t Pizza delivery drivers get the same immunities cops have? After all, they’re just doing their jobs.

The answer is simple: propaganda. The American public is saturated by a constant barrage of propaganda that paints cops as America’s best and brightest, even though some departments intentionally hire or promote dumb cops. The propaganda serves to push the idea that American law enforcement is constantly a target, and because of past actions they are quickly becoming just that. Currently, they aren’t constant targets, not to the degree they will be if some form of accountability isn’t introduced.

The common defense is “all cops aren’t bad.” This might be true to some degree, however if a person watches injustice and says nothing because of a code of silence, they are a bad person. If a department terminates whistleblowers who report the crimes of other officers, the department is too corrupt to save and needs to be completely disbanded and the community needs to start over from scratch. With the direct targeting of law enforcement officers becoming something that actually happens outside of the movies, it is time for serious reform. The country is on the precipice of a truly violent upheaval. The American people have decided they will not take police brutality anymore. It’s time for serious reform, or we can expect to see more and more cops ambushed.

When someone who is “just doing their job” can rape and kill with total immunity, something is terribly wrong. The American people wouldn’t accept that a pizza delivery driver killed a kid speeding because he was just doing his job. Why should they accept that excuse from those who are paid to protect and serve?

On a side note, all that was said about the people that bring you your pizza is true. Tip well.

Citizens Fight Back, Move to Impeach Judge For Letting Pedophile Cop Off Easy

As The Free Thought Project has consistently reported, police officers, even if they’re caught on video committing a crime, are rarely punished to the same standards the public which they’re sworn to protect are held to. And now, it seems, even retired police officers are given the same preferential treatment.

Gerald Cookus, a twenty-year veteran of the Wilkes-Barre Police Department in Pennsylvania, was sentenced to just 3 months in prison for admittedly molesting an 8-year-old girl at his home on Mayock Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Cookus, who was working as a greeter at the school known as the Solomon Plains Education Center, was seen by the victim’s mom hugging the victim in a way that aroused her suspicions. Upon further investigation, it was discovered Cookus had molested the girl because, in his words, he felt like she liked it.

According to WNEP News, “Court papers show he admitted to police he touched the girl inappropriately because he believed she thought it felt good. School leaders do not think the assaults happened on school grounds. He was fired from his position at Solomon Plains Elementary in November.”

News reports indicate the former career police officer was overcome with emotion, “Inside the courtroom, his lawyer told the judge he’s living with the loss of his family’s respect.” And, “Before he was sentenced, Cookus told the judge through tears, ‘this is the worst thing in my life and I’m sorry. I’m very, very sorry.’” But all of the emotion, the tears, the words of remorse, mean nothing when you examine the research that exists on pedophiles.

Pedophiles are serial offenders. Very few are arrested as a result of their first offense, and go on to molest children, over and over again. While it’s too early to tell in the case of convicted pedophile retired officer Gerald Cookus (mainly because he’s only been convicted of one crime by one accuser), pedophiles are experts at victimizing.

According to one source which examines research related to pedophiles and their victims, “Pedophiles have a strong, almost irresistible, desire to have sex with children. The average pedophile molests 260 victims during their lifetime. Over 90% of convicted pedophiles are arrested again for the same offense after their release from prison.”

We at The Free Thought Project encourage you to come forward, if you’re a victim of this pedophile cop. Be strong and courageous and take your own accusations to the police station nearest you. If you recognize this police officer as someone who molested you, don’t stay silent any longer.

While Cookus was working at a local elementary school, he also worked in security at Wilkes University in the 1990’s.

Moreover, citizens of Wilkes-Barre are outraged at the judge in the case, Judge Sklarosky, for going easy on the retired police officer. Three months is an outrage to anyone who’s ever been a victim of a pedophile, has been molested, or has been involved in the process of a police investigation of the horrors associated with child sexual abuse.

Citizens want to know how a judge can be so callous as to not bring a harsher penalty to the former police officer and use him as an example for the rest of the community. They’ve established a petition to impeach Judge Sklarosky.

According to the petition:

This is a deep problem in NEPA that has to be addressed. Corruption, nepotism, and racially/economically unequal sentences. If this Judge wants to impose only a 3 month sentence to a cop who admitted to sexually assaulting an 8 year old while throwing the book at everyone else, let’s make an example out of him and show the local government officials we’re not putting up with this blatant corruption that haunts our area anymore. It’s morally wrong. A man who sexually assaults an 8 year old will not be properly rehabilitated, if that’s even possible, after three months. This judge obviously lacks empathy to the victim or possible future victim(s) and is totally incompetent. He has no business collecting our tax dollars anymore, he obviously doesn’t represent what we the people stand for. Minorities caught with marijuana do more time than this man. Shame on him. The judge also had the audacity to claim he was not a “sexually violent predator”. So judge, if sexually assaulting an 8 year old isn’t sexually violent, what is? Please resign. Don’t make us impeach you. Leave with whatever little shred of dignity you have left. If not, and you prove to us you have absolutely no morals or backbone, don’t for a second think we’re going to allow you to win your reelection coming up. #PowerToThePeople

Sweden's Infamous "Bikini Cop" Quits Amid Growing Police Crisis

Back in August Mikaela Kellner became Sweden"s most famous police officer when she took a short break from sunbathing in the park to tackle and arrest a pickpocket.  Pictures of the event quickly rose to international fame and nearly broke the internet.

Spread of the news instantly gained the fit cop nearly 30,000 instagram followers.

Now, after 11 years on the force, the famed officer has decided to turn in her badge in protest to her department"s recent reorganization that, according to Kellner, has resulted in personnel being treated unfairly.  Per Sputnik:

"The main reason is that I"ve not felt comfortable with the recent [police] reorganization. I do not think that personnel are being treated fairly, as they should."

"[Being a police officer] has become a bit like a second identity, and I feel bad about not doing a good job."

Though Kellner didn"t mention it, Sweden"s police force has recently been plagued by understaffing and a rapid rise in violent crime that seemingly corresponded with the arrival of thousands of migrants from the Middle East and Northern Africa.  The level of violence within certain areas rose to such a level that police abandoned efforts to control the streets, leading to the establishment of 55 "no-go zones" (something we discussed in further detail here:  "Sweden Creates 55 "No-Go Zones" As It Loses Control Of Refugee Crisis").

All in all, Sweden"s police force has been plagued by severe understaffing, underpayment and low crime detection — despite the allocation of billions of extra kronor in backup. A report published earlier this year suggested as many as 80 percent of Swedish police officers were considering pursuing a different careers due to the danger they face in the field. In recent months, Sweden was plagued by ballooning criminality in the form of sex attacks, burglary, murder, vehicular arson and violence toward the police in blighted suburban areas.

Much of the crime, however, is linked to specific suburbs in urban communities populated by migrants, where police rarely venture outside police stations for fear of being attacked by locals — a fact that the Swedish authorities are loath to admit. In light of the Swedish practice to conceal the identity of the perpetrators, many suggest that the authorities and police conspire to cover up migrant crime to whitewash the country"s immigration policy.

While we hate to see someone with her particular "talents" get pushed out of the force, we wish Ms. Kellner the best of luck with her personal training career.
