Four women accuse New York’s Attorney General of physical abuse

Update: Three hours after the publication of this story, Schneiderman resigned from his position. “While these allegations are unrelated to my professional conduct or the operations of the office, they will effectively prevent me from leading the office’s work at this critical time,” he said in a statement. “I therefore resign my office, effective at the close of business on May 8, 2018.”

Eric Schneiderman, New York’s attorney general, has long been a liberal Democratic champion of women’s rights, and recently he has become an outspoken figure in the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment. As New York State’s highest-ranking law-enforcement officer, Schneiderman, who is sixty-three, has used his authority to take legal action against the disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein, and to demand greater compensation for the victims of Weinstein’s alleged sexual crimes. Last month, when the Times and this magazine were awarded a joint Pulitzer Prize for coverage of sexual harassment, Schneiderman issued a congratulatory tweet, praising “the brave women and men who spoke up about the sexual harassment they had endured at the hands of powerful men.” Without these women, he noted, “there would not be the critical national reckoning under way.”

Now Schneiderman is facing a reckoning of his own. As his prominence as a voice against sexual misconduct has risen, so, too, has the distress of four women with whom he has had romantic relationships or encounters. They accuse Schneiderman of having subjected them to nonconsensual physical violence. All have been reluctant to speak out, fearing reprisal. But two of the women, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, have talked to The New Yorker on the record, because they feel that doing so could protect other women. They allege that he repeatedly hit them, often after drinking, frequently in bed and never with their consent. Manning Barish and Selvaratnam categorize the abuse he inflicted on them as “assault.” They did not report their allegations to the police at the time, but both say that they eventually sought medical attention after having been slapped hard across the ear and face, and also choked. Selvaratnam says that Schneiderman warned her he could have her followed and her phones tapped, and both say that he threatened to kill them if they broke up with him. (Schneiderman’s spokesperson said that he “never made any of these threats.”)

New York WEAPONIZES Regulatory Powers Against The NRA

AP Photo/John Minchillo

Regulatory powers have just been dangerously weaponized against the National Rifle Association. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s recent directive to financial regulators wants them to pressure private companies to break ties with the NRA, “or else…”

New York has never been known as a bastion of freedom, yet this is even highly reminiscent of all-out fascist tactics to eliminate basic fundamental human rights through weaponized regulations. And although no person should ever have the kind of power Cuomo exerted to “decree” private businesses and banks follow his orders, don’t be surprised if they cave to the tyranny.

“I am directing the Department of Financial Services to urge insurers and bankers statewide to determine whether any relationship they may have with the NRA or similar organizations sends the wrong message to their clients and their communities who often look to them for guidance and support,” the governor wrote in a statement.

The Department of Financial Services, which regulates the banking and insurance industries in New York, followed up with guidance letters to insurance companies and banks, according to Reason.

The guidance then includes slight variations on the following language from the banking letter:

The Department encourages its chartered and licensed financial institutions to continue evaluating and managing their risks, including reputational risks, that may arise from their dealings with the NRA or similar gun promotion organizations, if any, as well as continued assessment of compliance with their own codes of social responsibility. The Department encourages regulated institutions to review any relationships they have with the NRA or similar gun promotion organizations, and to take prompt actions to managing these risks and promote public health and safety.

Why is this such a terrifying ordeal? The regulatory body that oversees these industries is warning companies under its power that they may be assuming reputational risk (a regulated area that draws official attention) by doing business with legal organizations such as the NRA. This reputational risk is said to exist because these groups are “gun promotion organizations,” which boils down to nothing more than them taking public policy positions at odds with those favored by the state’s political leaders.  Meaning the New York State government is weaponizing itself against any business it deems a political enemy…does this sound like East Berlin circa 1939 yet?

But this is hardly the first time government regulatory agencies have been weaponized against the public. “My father may have been the originator of the concept of employing the IRS as a weapon of political retribution,” Elliott Roosevelt observed of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The federal tax agency remains a handy bludgeon for politicians from that day through the present, including its recent deployment against Tea Party groups and its power to financially punish (at gunpoint of course) those who can’t afford or don’t wish to purchase government-approved health care plans.

As Reason noted, yes, weaponizing regulatory agencies has been done before.  But making it explicit strips regulatory authority of any legitimacy. Punishing political opponents is a less compelling argument for such power than claims—valid or otherwise—that you’re enforcing good business practices. If it becomes standard practice, people are entitled to view regulators as nothing more than partisan hitmen and treat them accordingly.

New York’s long-established culture of corrupt and weaponized use of government power is a stain on the state, not something to be made official policy and extended to the country as an example to emulate.

800,000 people are about to flee New York and California because of taxes, say economists

800,000 people will leave New York and California over the next three years due to the new tax bill, conservative economists Arthur Laffer and Stephen Moore said in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal.

Conservative economists Arthur Laffer and Stephen Moore are predicting a new mass exodus of wealth from New York and California because of the new tax law. But academics who have studied taxes and migration call the forecast “pure nonsense.”

In an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal headlined “So Long, California. Sayonara, New York,” Laffer and Moore (who have both advised President Donald Trump) say the new tax bill will cause a net 800,000 people to move out of California and New York over the next three years.

The tax changes limit the deduction of state and local taxes to $10,000, so many high-earning taxpayers in high-tax states will actually face a tax increase under the new tax code.

The Sunday Morning Tune-up ~ The Red Wave

by Chip Murray

“How do you define ‘hate speech’ Mr. Zuckerberg?”
~ Sen. Ben Sasse

“um, er, uh…” ~ Mark Zuckerberg

Commu-

In political and social sciences, communism (from Latin communis, “common, universal”) is the philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of the communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common (collective) ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money and the state.

nism-     a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

Looking back on the America I grew up in, I am realizing how Communism in its infancy was kind of cute…like little baby dragons. How romantic and tender it was, with flowers in our hair and the music of Pan stirring our souls. But the cute baby grew up to be Smaug…not so romantic anymore. No more flowers, only the threat of the greatest fire the world has ever known. Just the other day, I was thinking about childhood friends through the years on into adulthood who I have loved and lost…all swept away by the Red Wave.

Communism, once a national or regional disease, has become a global disorder invited by the “mental disorder” known as Liberalism. It took root here in the U.S. back in the late 30’s as the Frankfurt School of Marxist thinkers forced to flee the growing Nazi threat in Europe. They found a welcoming home at New York’s Columbia University. Every twisted perversion of our Judeo-Christian Culture and Constitutional Republic can be traced back to this…infection. It’s an infection that enters the body by way of seduction really. Why tie one’s self up with all of this silly, outdated rigid and restrictive Judeo-Christian mumbo jumbo of creeds and rules, when one can truly free one’s mind and body? I will tell you as a young teenager growing up in the “counter-culture” 60’s under the harsh rule of an overbearing task-master father, I bought into the seduction hook, line, and sinker.

But here dear friend is our saving grace. Grace is the gift from God we truly do not deserve. In our American DNA, there exists a very important something that’s hard to define or describe. It’s a combination of things that include common sense, courage, hunger for truth, and true justice. If I had to sum it all up and give it a term, I’d call it a BS Meter. Sadly, judging by the attitudes and expressions on college campuses, it appears the younger generation has come poorly equipped. Any number of them on any given day can be found signing petitions to freely relinquish their God-given Rights. Our generation rebelled against top-down government and institutional authority. Theirs is begging for it! That dear friend is the devastating power of the Red Wave.

When the dragon was just a teenager himself, we were blessed with great men who knew how to handle him. President Reagan steered our Ship of State, and the man who knew the dragon 1st hand, Pope John Paul ll, led the Catholic Church. The dragon was effectively contained. But the disease introduced into our cultural bloodstream by the Frankfurt School advanced beneath the surface, attacking our immune system and making way for the most philosophically un-American President ever to occupy the White House…and to compound the disaster…the most un-Catholic Pope to ever occupy the Vatican. The Red Wave grew into the present day Global Tsunami.

Early last year a group of us Oath Keepers attended a Village Board meeting to support our local police after the local Red Wave Society demanded the Blue Line be removed because they found it offensive to the other Red Wave offspring known as Black Lives Matter. The Red Wave Mayor was naturally sympathetic to their demands and had appeased them BEFORE the meeting by transforming the Blue Line into a red, white, and blue line. The Red Wave met the Patriot Wave and completely disintegrated there in the Village Hall…as all lies eventually do. The Blue Line was restored.

The disease has fully metastasized as a global Corporate/Communist/Islamic mutation that seems to want WWlll. What I saw as a Globalist Kristallnacht struck the United States and Europe last week, setting the stage for the Final Act. Springtime, usually the time of birth and renewal, began with the launch of 100 missiles. Yesterday I marched with 500 of my brothers and sisters in Albany as part of the National “Stand Up For America” Day. We surrounded the office of our Red Wave Governor with chants of “Cuomo’s Got To Go”! The truth is I don’t know where he will go. The fact is none of us know where any of this goes from here. If you’ve ever found yourself body-surfing under a huge collapsing wave that pounds you into complete disorientation, that is what the crashing effect of the Red Wave seems to have on us at the moment. What we do know is that one of us has put his faith in man, and the other his trust in God. Time should tell…it always has, and it always will.  www.oathkeepers.org

Liberal Hypocrite Michael Moore Participated In RUSSIA-ORGANIZED Anti-Trump Rally

One of the biggest hypocrites to ever walk the face of the Earth, Michael Moore, participated in a Russia-organized anti-Trump rally. Liberals love to latch onto the “Russia” narrative, but they also like to leave out details surrounding their dalliances with the former Soviet Union.

Conveniently missing from most mainstream media news sources, isn’t just information on the highly hypocritical and massive corruption of the Obama Administration and the Clintons in the Uranium One scandal. Prosecutors said Friday that the Russians indicted for meddling in the presidential campaign were also behind anti-Trump rallies that occurred after the election.

According to Fox News, the government alleged in an indictment signed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller that the defendants organized a November 12, 2016 “Trump is NOT my President” rally in New York. Their “strategic goal” was to “sow discord in the U.S. political system,” the indictment said.

On November 12, 2016, Moore tweeted from that very protest organized by Russians.  “At today’s Trump Tower protest. He wouldn’t come down.” He attached a picture of himself posing with a large number of protesters.

Moore also posted a lengthy video on Facebook that same day, in which he joined the protest and debated voters at Trump Tower.  Approximately 25,000 protesters showed up to that same protest, chanting slogans rejecting the then-president-elect NBC News reported at the time, citing New York Police Department officials. Amid heavy police presence, protesters marched from Union Square to Trump Tower, The Guardian reported.

This puts anyone who still has faith that the FBI isn’t a weaponized political tool of the deep state in a tough position. They really don’t have the right to be critical of this information as they demand all Americans trust the FBI and where an investigation takes them.

Moore has repeatedly claimed that President Trump inappropriately colluded with Russians when it looks like there’s plenty of evidence the Obama Administration and the Clintons seem to get a free pass for their role in the Uranium One scandal. Last year, Moore wrote on Facebook, “It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what was going on: TRUMP COLLUDING WITH THE RUSSIANS TO THROW THE ELECTION TO HIM.”

If it weren’t for double standards, Michael Moore wouldn’t have any.

‘Sadistic Guard’ Story Hints at Why Rights Enforcement Has Never Been More Needed

Who believes it will forever be impossible for such enforcers to exist in America? Who thinks there aren’t armed government enforcers here now who would do the same if so ordered? (Warsaw Ghetto Uprising – Photo from Jürgen Stroop Report to Heinrich Himmler from May 1943. The original German caption reads: “Forcibly pulled out of dug-outs.”)

“A sadistic prison officer who has cost New York State $877,637 in legal payouts over assault and sex harassment allegations is now under investigation over accusations he waterboarded two inmates and brutally beat them in their genitals,” The New York Daily News is reporting. “Lt. Troy Mitchell, with the help of other guards, is accused of pouring buckets of water over the mouths and noses of two shackled inmates at the Auburn Correctional Facility in separate incidents. He is also accused of grabbing and twisting their genitals and then punching and whacking their groins with a baton.”

So much for prohibitions against “cruel and unusual punishment.” But you kind of get the feeling the Constitution isn’t the first thing on these guys’ minds, even if they did swear an oath to it when they accepted the badge.

I have to include a couple qualifiers here, the first being I’ve always found the Daily News to be a subversive, citizen disarmament-promoting birdcage liner, and to caution that the accused are owed full due process no matter what they’ve allegedly done. That said, what with verified reports of NYPD sodomizing a victim with a broomstick or reports of Baltimore “gun cops” planting weapons and robbing / drug dealing “with impunity,” it’s not hard to find verifiable examples of extreme criminality in “law enforcement” that should alert us to another potential.

In some departments, corruption and/or complicit silence about it is so widespread as to make the “few bad apples” disclaimer suspect. And with such as these, who thinks state-sanctioned terror squads on U.S. soil are a now-and-forever impossibility?

There are still plenty of citizens who don’t “get it” and who ridicule fears that brutal tyranny could ever happen in America as paranoid ravings of the “tinfoil hat” crowd. That’s especially true when it comes to reminding them of past genocides enabled greatly by citizen disarmament.

Some relevant questions come to mind:

By what suspension of reality, by what denial of the observable and the probable, by what art, device or magic are we sheltered few immune from catastrophe? Are we certain, from our brief and privileged vantage point, that such things will never affect us personally? Is it not just plain stupid to proclaim that our familiar way of life will forever be the norm, when everything that has gone before us shows we are, instead, the extremely lucky beneficiaries of a rare and fortunate convergence of circumstances; and one, by the way, that has only been preserved under force of arms?

Of course tyranny :can happen here,” and there will be oath-breakers that are not only willing to enforce it, but who will embrace and revel in their presumed unchallengeable power to do so. And since we know those enforcers will come from the ranks of “civil authority,” it’s critical that Oath Keepers within those ranks do what you can — when you can — to share the truths about the Constitution with your peers now, while peaceable means of redress yet exist. They need to know that not only are rights infringements unacceptable, so too is not opposing those they see abusing authority.

Powers are delegated in the Constitution to effect the “mission statements” articulated in the Preamble, including “to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” The Bill of Rights was appended to “the supreme Law of the Land” to ensure that grand goal would be attainable.

The term “law enforcement” is ubiquitous.  Rights enforcement is less so, both in terms of usage and in real world application. That needs to change and the ranks of rights enforcers needs to grow.

There are plenty of tools to help make that happen right here on this website. What’s needed is for each of us to pick them up and use them. Regularly.

It would be especially helpful to see comments about recruitment efforts that have proven successful so that they canbe used as templates to build on, and also to hear stories about attempts that have been met with official resistance and intimidation. If appropriate, it may be prudent to flesh out specific details and name names in private conversations with Oath Keepers leadership to develop a plan to deal with that, and to see what can be done to safeguard against retaliatory actions and other official discouragements.

Democrat: Trump Should Resign Or Congress Should Take Action

kristengillibran

Democrat Kristen Gillibrand, a Senator from New York, claims that president Donald Trump should resign. She also said if he refused to do so, Congress should “hold him accountable.”

Gillibrand believes Congress should hold President Trump accountable for the numerous allegations (‘allegations’ being the key word here) of sexual misconduct leveled against him. “I think he should resign, and if he’s unwilling to do that, which is what I assume, then Congress should hold him accountable. We’re obligated to have hearings,” Gillibrand said in an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes.

Gillibrand, who was among the first to call for former Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.) to resign due to sexual misconduct allegations, was also one of several Democratic senators who stated late last year Trump should resign due to sexual misconduct allegations that surfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign. But it’s fascinating that some forget allegations are just accusals, not guilty verdicts.

The report not only exposes the lengths that California lawyer Lisa Bloom was willing to go to stop Donald Trump from becoming president, it also points to the fact that she herself was attempting to make money off accusations that Trump sexually assaulted multiple women.

According to the report, Bloom’s efforts including arranging a liberal donor to pay off one of the accusers mortgage, offering to sell an alleged victims story to TV outlets, and even trying to secure a six figure payment for another women who eventually decided not to come forward with her supposed accusations.

One of the Bloom clients who DID receive financial help in exchange for her allegations against Trump was New York City makeup artist Jill Harth who herself defended the revelations while claiming that the money had nothing to do with her coming forward in the first place. -SHTFPlan

If Trump does not resign, the senators and some of Trump’s accusers said Congress should investigate the claims of sexual assault. When asked on 60 Minutes by the leftist media, why it took until late last year to call for Trump to be held accountable, Gillibrand said “something changed” when he was elected, “and I think it changed for women.”

Trump went after Gillibrand on Twitter after she called for his resignation, saying she would “do anything” for campaign donations.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway criticized Gillibrand on Sunday for protecting and defending former President Clinton when he was accused of sexual misconduct. Conway wasn’t the only woman seeing the hypocrisy behind the Democrats’ petty actions.  Gillibrand, who only recently said Bill Clinton should have resigned at the time of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, told 60 Minutes her perspective on the allegations against the former president has changed. “I think I’m not alone here. Like, how many of us were having this conversation even a year ago?” she said. “I think we’re all learning.”

She declined to say whether she’s spoken to the Clintons since she changed her stance, but added that Hillary Clinton is still her “greatest role model in politics.”

Snooping Scientists Find DNA In Hospital Pipes That FUEL SUPERBUGS

superbug

The pipes of hospitals carrying away the infections of the sick are bound to be quite disturbing places. But scientists dared to snoop around in them anyway and found that they can fuel superbugs.

In a new study, published by The American Society for Microbiologyscientists determined that antibiotic-resistant bacteria are bred in the plumbing of hospitals. The study, titled Genomic Analysis of Hospital Plumbing Reveals Diverse Reservoir of Bacterial Plasmids Conferring Carbapenem Resistance found that even when hospitals themselves are impeccably clean of infectious bacteria and viruses, the pipes that carry away those micro-organisms are not.

Even when the sinks, faucets, bedrails and countertops of patients’ rooms are largely free of germs that resist modern medicines, the genetic building blocks for antibiotic resistance intermingle freely in the pipes connected to those rooms, according to a study published Tuesday in the journal mBio. That DNA can give superbugs the power to defeat modern medicines and threaten the lives of patients. –LA Times

The DNA scientists were able to swab from the inside of the pipes showed that these little organisms have the power to become vast medicine-resistant superbugs that could wipe out a lot of people. The study began back in 2012 after a severely ill woman carried a bacterial infection into a New York health care center.

In 2012, a team of sleuths at the National Institutes of Health’s Clinical Care Center broke new ground in the effort to rout a deadly antibiotic-resistant infection that sickened at least 17 patients — and killed six — during the summer of 2011. Using whole-genome sequencing for the first time in such an investigation, the team identified the culprit: a super-potent strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria carried into the center by a seriously ill woman from New York.

The microbe, they discovered, was probably traveling between rooms after lodging in sinks and drains. Some were ripped out and others were sanitized in an extensive eradication effort.  –LA Times

The study itself came to the following conclusion:

Carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPOs) are a global concern because of the morbidity and mortality associated with these resistant Gram-negative bacteria. Horizontal plasmid transfer spreads the resistance mechanism to new bacteria, and understanding the plasmid ecology of the hospital environment can assist in the design of control strategies to prevent nosocomial infections. A 5-year genomic and epidemiological survey was undertaken to study the CPOs in the patient-accessible environment, as well as in the plumbing system removed from the patient. This comprehensive survey revealed a vast, unappreciated reservoir of CPOs in wastewater, which was in contrast to the low positivity rate in both the patient population and the patient-accessible environment. While there were few patient-environmental isolate associations, there were plasmid backbones common to both populations. These results are relevant to all hospitals for which CPO colonization may not yet be defined through extensive surveillance.-American Society for Microbiology

During the study, all of the samples drawn from the piping system leading from the ICU tested positive for bacterial plasmids that confer resistance to carbapenems. And so did all seven samples drawn from wastewater samples taken from two external manholes associated with the NIH Clinical Center.

This means that hospital pipes can be the breeding grounds for the next superbug, and once infected, could eliminate up to 50% of those who become infected with the superbug.

SAFE Act Prosecutions will Show if New York Dares Enforce Registration Infringements

New troopers graduating from New York State Police Basic School: What is it that they’re doing in this picture? How many understand what that means in terms of obeying orders that violate their oath? How many will care enough to refuse to obey? (Gov. Andrew Cuomo/ Facebook photos)

“On Thursday of this week, more than 70,000 New York pistol permit holders woke up as felons. Law-breakers,” S.H. Blannelberry of GunsAmerica observed. “What was their crime? They didn’t register their handguns with the state.”

“Gov. Andrew Cuomo rammed through the NY Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act in 2013,” the article explains. “This insidious law requires pistol permit holders to register their handguns and recertify their licenses every five years. Failure to do so is a Class E felony.”

So what does this mean? Are those who initially complied with registration now caught in a perfect trap, one that will result in the state destroying their lives for not complying with its terms of surrender, be it because they either weren’t paying attention or made the decision to defy an edict they view as tyrannical?

New York is playing coy, probably wary of sounding too much like “Star Trek’s” the Borg claiming “Resistance is futile.”

“The state police are not going to penalize those people who fail to recertify unknowingly by the deadline,” Beau Duffy, Director of Public Information for New York State Police claimed.  All they want is “an up-to-date database on active pistol permits at the state and local levels.”

And why might they want that? It’s not unfair to recall an earlier New York diktat, where a similar promise was made:

“The New York City Police Department (NYPD) had notified the 2,340 New Yorkers who had been licensed earlier to possess semi-automatic rifles and shotguns that any of those licensed firearms that were covered by the ban had to be surrendered, rendered inoperable or taken out of the city. The recipients of the notification were directed to send back a sworn statement indicating what had been done with those firearms.”

And what of those who “knowingly” refuse to comply? Again, we can look to past precedent.

“The year after the ban was enacted, a man`s home in Staten Island was raided by the police after he had announced that he would not comply with the city`s ban. He was arrested, and his guns were seized.”

There’s one other important fact that can’t be overlooked, and that is to note who by law is exempt from registration requirements: Criminals, the ones causing the violence problems.

In Haynes v. United States, the Supreme Court basically ruled that since a felon is prohibited from gun ownership, requiring him to register one would violate Fifth Amendment protections against self-incrimination. That’s a correct ruling, but it does help illustrate the damnable lie behind all firearm registration “laws.”

With the caveat that I have no crystal ball, my best guess is that mass sweeps will not take place any time soon, especially since, aside from the manpower, logistics and resources that would require,  enforcement, prosecution and incarceration would make that  a practical impossibility. Also, many law enforcement departments in non-“progressive” areas have said they will not comply with enforcement orders. Others are saying the “law” is so confusing that enforcement is unworkable.

And what about enforcing the edict against those who “knowingly” refuse to obey?

“I just don’t see there’s any need to,” says Joseph Fuller of Cohoes, N.Y. Fuller says he owns several guns, including at least one that he’s required to register under the SAFE Act. But he hasn’t. “I don’t pay attention, to be honest,” says Fuller. “I have friends out in the boondocks. They won’t register their guns either. And they told me … don’t even bother. Don’t worry about it.”

Can the state afford to let high profile “scofflaws” defy its demands and not appear totally impotent in all matters? Is the best “answer” to remain low profile, and feign ignorance if “caught”?

Massive noncompliance already appears to be the case.

Nearly One Million New Yorkers Didn’t Register Their ‘Assault Weapons’,” a headline notes on an earlier disarmament edict. Similar results can be pointed to in places like Connecticut and California.

I can’t blame fellow gun owners who choose a low-profile course, although it’s not the one I chose when faced with a similar decision. Some friends and I confronted the California “Department of Justice” years back when NRA partnered with them to walk us through their so-called “assault weapon” registration requirement of the time. We publicly defied them and tore up their offensive registration cards, incurring the condemnation of some “law-abiding gun owners” in attendance. We never did suffer legal repercussions, although I wouldn’t want to predict what New York “authorities” would do. (Make sure you make time to read “Why I Will Not Obey California’s Gun Registration Edict” by my friend and colleague Brian Puckett, who was one of my “accomplices” that night.)

Again, going back to that crystal ball caveat, my prediction is that enforcement willbe selective based on perceived “beneficial” outcomes, and the first arrests will be within an extremely small subset of gun owners who commit other criminal acts. That will allow for arresting agencies and prosecuting attorneys to crow to supportive media about how the law is “saving lives.”

There could also be arrests of those loudly defying the requirement, especially if they get careless. If and when an advocate gets arrested, don’t expect much help from certain national rice bowl gun groups, which repudiate the growing “I will not comply” movement and instead insist that “good, honest” gun owners obey the law and work to change it.

A Samuel Adams quote comes to mind.

Expect them to claim the disobedient “are making us all look bad.” Certainly don’t expect them to fund the legal defense of a patriot whose assets have been seized and who will stand for the most part on his own (and boy, do I pray they will one day make me eat those words).

In Democrat strongholds like New York, New Jersey, California, Massachusetts, Maryland, Oregon, etc., repeal and redress are not going to happen, and the deliberately “imported” demographic constituency shift will ensure legislative and judicial corrections will be denied to those who simply wish to claim their  birthright back from infringing usurpers. Besides, “civil disobedience” to tyranny is a time-honored American tradition.  Just ask Thoreau. Or better yet, Parker.

Just as Oath Keepers in the military and law enforcement have pledged that there are orders they will not obey, so too should patriotic citizens who understand their rights and duties refuse to cooperate in their own disarmament. Acts of tyranny passed under color of law do not override the supreme Law of the Land. The obligation is to follow the higher law.

CSX CEO Hunter Harrison Dead, Days After Medical Leave

Just two days after taking medical leave from his role as CEO of CSX, the company has confirmed 73-year-old Hunter Harrison has passed away.

Hunter Harrison, CEO of rail company CSX, has passed away, the company confirmed in a statement Saturday.

"It is with great sadness that we announce that E. Hunter Harrison, President and Chief Executive Officer of CSX, died today in Wellington, Fla., due to unexpectedly severe complications from a recent illness," the company said.

Harrison had taken medical leave on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Jim Foote has been named acting CEO in the wake of Hunter"s passing, according to CSX board chairman Edward Kelly.

"With the passing of Hunter Harrison, CSX has suffered a major loss," Kelly said. "Notwithstanding that loss, the board is confident that Jim Foote, as acting Chief Executive Officer, and the rest of the CSX team will capitalize on the changes that Hunter has made.

"The Board will continue to consider in a deliberative way how best to maximize CSX"s performance over the long term," Kelly said.

Harrison, who turned around three railroad carriers during a five-decade career before being tapped by CSX Corp. to improve the company’s lackluster performance, had heart bypass surgery in 1998, occasionally used a portable oxygen tank to treat shortness of breath.

His reputation among analysts and investors was so strong that CSX shares jumped 23 percent on a single day in January 2017 when reports emerged that Harrison was in talks to take the helm. Shares fell almost 8 percent when the company announced his medical leave.

His health emerged as a concern for investors after he joined Canadian Pacific. In 2015, Harrison contracted pneumonia and missed several weeks of work after undergoing surgery to have stents implanted in his legs. In 2017, before being appointed by CSX, he turned down the company’s request that an independent physician designated by the board review his medical records.

Harrison and his wife, Jeannie, had two children.

Suffolk County DA Used $3.3 Million In Asset Forfeitures To Fund Massive Public Employee "Bonuses"

Just over a month ago we wrote about the curious case of Frank Ranelli of Alabama and the growing problem of asset forfeitures all across the United States.  Ranelli, who owned a local computer repair shop in Ensley, Alabama, showed up to work one day in 2010 only to later be raided by local police who proceeded to confiscate thousands of dollars worth of assets.  Nothing ever came of the case and despite no official charges and no jury trial, Ranelli, after 7 years of effort, has been completely unsuccessful in recovering the assets that officers took from his business.

The morning of June 29, 2010, began much like any other day for Frank Ranelli, the owner of FAR Computers in Ensley, Alabama. Ranelli, who had owned his computer repair business just outside of Birmingham for more than two decades, was doing some paperwork in his windowless office when he heard loud banging on the front door.  Within a matter of moments Ranelli was placed under arrest and all of the computer equipment in his store, much of which belonged to customers, had been confiscated by Alabama police never to be returned.

Within moments, a Homewood police sergeant had declared a room full of customers" computers, merchandise and other items "stolen goods," Ranelli recalled. He ordered his officers to "arrest them all," according to Ranelli, who was cuffed and taken to the Homewood jail along with two of his shop employees.

The police proceeded to confiscate more than 130 computers - most of which were customers" units waiting to be repaired, though some were for sale - as well as the company"s business servers and workstations and even receipts and checkbooks.

"Here I was, a man, owned this business, been coming to work every day like a good old guy for 23 years, and I show up at work that morning - I was in here doing my books from the day before - and the police just f***ed my life," he said.

Now, new revelations from the Suffolk County District Attorney"s office illustrate precisely why asset forfeitures, and all the inherent conflicts of interest therein, are suddenly becoming a hot topic of debate all across the country.  According to records obtained by Newsday from Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy, former DA Thomas Spota doled out a staggering $3.25 million - $550,000 more than originally reported - in "bonuses" to public prosecutors, from a pool of seized assets, without a single legislative approval.

Newly disclosed records show Suffolk district attorney employees have received $3.25 million in bonuses since 2012 — $550,000 more than reported previously — as county lawmakers prepare for a hearing Tuesday on a bill to tighten legislative control over how proceeds from seized criminal assets are spent.

Bonus recipients included deputy chief homicide prosecutor Robert Biancavilla, who received a total of $108,886 between 2012 and 2017, and division chief Edward Heilig and top public corruption prosecutor Christopher McPartland, who each received $73,000, according to records obtained from county Comptroller John Kennedy’s office through the Freedom of Information Law.

The bonuses, which were funded from assets seized in criminal cases by the district attorney’s office, did not receive legislative approval. The original figure of $2.7 million came from documents provided by County Executive Steve Bellone’s office, which only included bonuses for top management employees.

“Asset forfeiture money that comes into this county counts into the millions of dollars,” Calarco said. “That’s a lot of money to be spent at the sole discretion of an individual with no oversight.”

Spota

Meanwhile, according to PIX11, these new revelations of potentially misrepresented bonus payments come after the former DA was forced to resign his post just a few weeks ago upon being accused of obstructing an FBI investigation that led to the conviction of former county Police Chief James Burke.

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, who was indicted on charges that he helped cover up the beating of a handcuffed prisoner by a police chief, says he will step down from his post.

“I will be leaving my post as district attorney at the earliest opportunity after the resolution of normal administrative matters relating to my retirement,” Spota said in a statement released by his office Thursday. “The governor will be notified of my decision today. The Chief Assistant District Attorney, Emily Constant, will thereafter assume my duties and responsibilities.”

He said he has notified Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo of his decision.

Spota, a Democrat, and the chief of his anti-corruption bureau, Christopher McPartland, are accused of obstructing an FBI investigation that led to the conviction of former county Police Chief James Burke.

Both pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Wednesday in federal court on Long Island.

But sure, elected officials are inherently trustworthy enough to work with local police to confiscate millions of dollars in cash and then unilaterally disburse those funds in a judicious manner...why would anyone think such a system would ever go awry?

John Wallace remembered for integrity and a keen sense of humor

By Anthony Fiducia  11/15/2017

CHATHAM — Community icon John W. Wallace, who was diverse in many aspects of his life and could find humor in any situation, died Nov. 7 at his home. Wallace was 73.

Son of Alexander and Catherine Langan Wallace, John Wallace was born in New York City on Nov. 19, 1943. He moved to Chatham in 1991.

Serving as a state trooper for 31 years, Wallace attained the rank of lieutenant colonel.

After retirement, he became the owner of The Gray Rider Real Estate Co. in Chatham.

Wallace was also the former chairman of the Chatham Republican Committee, former president of the New York State Oath Keepers, Grand Knight of the Our Lady of the Rosary Knights of Columbus, cast member of Chatham Improv, and usher and communicant of Saint James Church.

Anastasia Wallace said he always enjoyed a challenge.

“He was very funny, he had a great sense of humor — he was a prankster, he was a joker,” she said. “He liked improv because it got him thinking — it was quick thinking and he enjoyed that.”

Anastasia said Wallace also did plays and an early morning radio show on 93.5.

“He was very diverse, he was into a lot of things,” she said. “He liked to be busy and he was successful in what he did.”

Wallace’s pride and joy was working with the state police. It is also the reason why he named his real estate company “gray riders” — after the name given to state troopers, Anastasia said.

Don Tubbs, born and raised in Chatham, was in the Oath Keepers with Wallace.

“I used to go on trips with him to rallies and places where people would speak on the Constitution,” he said. “John was always invited to say a few words.”

What Tubbs found the most compelling about Wallace was how determined he was to teach people the importance of the Constitution.

“It was a very important thing to John,” Tubbs said. “He always stressed the importance on people following the Constitution — he was always willing and able to help anybody he could.”

Tubbs said Wallace founded the Columbia-Greene chapter of the Oath Keepers.

“He was one of my better mentors that I’ve had,” Tubbs said. “He was a down-to-earth man — he loved his family and his country — this is a great loss.”

Mike Blasl, owner of French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home knew Wallace for almost 13 years.

“John was a great guy,” he said. “He was bigger than life — his personality and humor were that way as well.”

Blasl said Wallace loved to help out groups, and everytime he got into an organization, Wallace was running it.

“He was a guy that stepped up to the plate to make things happen,” Blasl said. “I think anybody that met him liked him.”

Wallace is survived by his wife, Anastasia; three daughters, Allison, Kathleen, and Mary; and a son in-law, Larry.

Meaningless ISIS Claim of Responsibility for Tuesday’s Manhattan Incident

Meaningless ISIS Claim of Responsibility for Tuesday’s Manhattan Incident | 1-saipov.w710.h473 | False Flags Special Interests US News

ISIS is a US creation, its fighters used as imperial foot soldiers, deployed where Washington wants them sent – a conspiracy against world peace and stability.

Why would the group bite the hand feeding it? Draw your own conclusions about Tuesday’s Manhattan incident and ISIS claiming responsibility – calling suspect Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov a “soldier of the caliphate.”

He’s badly wounded and hospitalized, kept under wraps, prevented from speaking publicly, the FBI controlling the information flow about what happened so only its version of things can get out.

Was Tuesday’s incident terrorism or a false flag? It’s unknown, yet suspicions are warranted.

Numerous previous incidents in America and Europe called terrorism were state-sponsored false flags, including 9/11, the mother of them all.

Was Tuesday Manhattan incident the latest one? The fullness of time may tell what Saipov so far can’t explain. All we know is what he’s reputed to have said, nothing from him directly.

ISIS provided no evidence supporting its claim of inspiring what happened. Its fingerprints aren’t on the Manhattan incident or any other previous similar Western ones.

Media scoundrels pronounced Saipov guilty straightaway, along with authorities – before he was officially charged.

Guilt by accusation is longstanding US policy against individuals it wants incarcerated – or simply detained indefinitely without charges or trials, the fate of undisclosed numbers in US global torture prisons.

Charges against Saipov were detailed in a lengthy 10-page indictment on November 1, presented in US federal district court less than 24 hours after the October 31 incident.

United States of America v. Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov reads like it was prepared in advance of what happened.

Legitimate indictments take time to prepare, following evidence collected. The one against Saipov came out overnight, a red flag like other disturbing ones following Tuesday’s incident.

The note and photo of an ISIS flag he allegedly left behind could have been planted. Yet media scoundrels continue accepting official reports unquestionably like they always do, repeating them stenographically.

Charges against Saipov claimed a black bag was found at the crime scene containing three knives. Were they his, or were they planted?

Killer cops in America plant guns or other weapons at crime scenes to conceal their own wrongdoing, unjustifiably justifying lethal shootings of victims.

According to official reports, Saipov confessed to plotting Tuesday’s incident after hearing an ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s audio recording.

Maybe so. Maybe not. All that’s known is what federal authorities claim, the FBI controlling reports, not Saipov directly, the only reliable source, no others.

Was he radicalized to become an ISIS sympathizer? Are official reports about what happened last Tuesday accurate?

Will Saipov get a chance to explain things himself? Will he get his day in court in proceedings open to the public?

If not, taking nothing officially reported at face value, suspect coverup of vital information.

Prius (D)riving NY Legislator Fakes PTSD Panic Attack To Get Out Of Minor Speeding Ticket (VIDEO)

Content originally published at iBankCoin.com

Ulster County, N.Y. legislator Jennifer Schwartz Berky (D) – who is up for reelection Nov. 7, put on quite an act for a local police officer Gary Short after she was pulled her over for driving 43 mph in a 30 mph zone while talking on her cell phone.

A 26-minute video of the May 2017 incident was released last Tuesday during an Ulster Town Board meeting, and features a meltdown of epic proportions.

After Berky failed to impress officer Short by casually mentioning “I work for the county government, I’m a county legislator,” she immediately shifted into the victim role and proceeded to have histrionic tantrum. “Please don’t give me a ticket, I’m broke,” Berky cried, adding “I’m completely broke, and if you tell people, it’s going to hurt me. I’m totally broke. I made $20,000 last year. Please don’t give me a ticket.”

Officer Short – a consummate professional throughout the encounter, returns to his squad car to run Berky’s information, when Berky gets out of her car and fakes a panic attack, while on the phone, claiming PTSD.

Full video here:

Berky has learned from this and is ready to move on!

In response to the viral video, Berky issued an apology (the comments section is hilarious):

“The video released earlier this week of my Town of Ulster traffic stop captured a tough moment for me,” stated Berky. “Like so many working families, I too face tough times and stressful situations.  As a professional, a public servant and a mother, I know my interaction with Police Officer Gary Short was unacceptable. I want to apologize to Officer Short and thank him for his patience and professionalism with me during a very difficult time. This has been a humbling experience for me. I hope to use it to grow and learn how to better represent the diverse working families who reside in the great the city of Kingston.”

If you’re an Ulster resident and would like to check out Berky’s platform – here ya go. I don’t think it’s going over so well.

...And "Horrible, Unacceptable" GE Goes Green

Having tumbled 10% in the pre-open after massively missing earnings expectations and slashing guidance, panic-dip-buyers have stepped in and (thanks in large part to passive index buyers flooding into The Dow), General Electric is now green...

"Kitchen sink" is the new no-brainer... as CEO call sit "horrible and unacceptable"

Dow-buyers helping out (and it looks like some Dow vs GE pairs hit at the open)...

It seems Dow at 1000x the price of GE remains solid resistance...

Who could have seen that coming?

Democrats Desperately Attempt To Regain Relevance With Midwest Voters Via New Populist Agenda

Yesterday we pointed out that, in a somewhat shockingly frank interview with on ABC"s "This Week", Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said that Democrats, not Russia, were to blame for Hillary Clinton’s loss to President Trump.

"When you lose to somebody who has 40 percent popularity, you don’t blame other things - [James] Comey, Russia - you blame yourself."

"So what did we do wrong? People didn’t know what we stood for, just that we were against Trump. And still believe that."

Of course, over the past 12 months, Democrats have tried every strategy possible win elections aside from actually putting forth an agenda of ideas that resonate with voters.  At first there was the blame game in which Democrats pretended they didn"t have a philosophical disconnect from voters but rather were simply robbed of the White House by Russian hacking operations.

Then, when that strategy failed to inspire voters, Democrats simply threw an obscene amount of money at special election candidates like John Ossoff. Unfortunately, it wasn"t enough as Ossoff still lost...resulting in a devastating waste of $176 per vote, or roughly 7.6x more than what Karen Handel spent to actually win.  Oops.

GA

So what do you do when your party is in complete disarray and not even the mainstream media"s 24/7, wall-to-wall bashing of your political opposition is sufficient for you to start winning elections?  Well, you roll out a whole new snazzy slogan and send Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to Berryville, Virginia to deliver an inspiring speech.

According to the Associated Press, the "new" Democrat agenda will be focused on introducing all new strategies focused on "raising wages, lowering costs for families, and giving working Americans better skills for the 21st century economy."  Unfortunately, while they boast a new way forward, the "new" Democrat agenda looks a lot like the old one and seemingly focuses on increasing taxes, entitlements and other forms of government dependence while attacking and demonizing all wealthy individuals and corporations.

The full title of the agenda is "A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future."

"The Democratic Party"s mission is to help build an America in which working people know that somebody has their back," say documents accompanying the roll-out.

There are three overarching goals: raising wages, lowering costs for families, and giving working Americans better skills for the 21st century economy.

Detailed planks will be rolled out over time. On Monday, three are being unveiled:

—Lowering prescription drug prices. Suggestions include a new agency that could investigate drug manufacturer price hikes, and they would allow Medicare to negotiate directly for the best drug prices.

—Cracking down on corporate monopolies. Democrats would enact new standards to limit large mergers, and create a new consumer competition advocate.

—Creating millions more jobs. The agenda includes proposals for expanding apprenticeships and providing a tax credit to employers to train and hire new workers.

Chuck Schumer even posted an op-ed in the New York Times this morning specifically stating that "our better deal is not about expanding the government, or moving our party in one direction or another along the political spectrum."  Ironically, in the very next sentence, he goes on to detail how his "jobs plan" is dependent upon massively "expanding the government" and veering way left on the political spectrum with policies like a federal $15 minimum wage.

We’ve already proposed creating jobs with a $1 trillion infrastructure plan; increasing workers’ incomes by lifting the minimum wage to $15; and lowering household costs by providing paid family and sick leave.

And here"s more of the same ole attacks from Chuck...

Right now, there is nothing to stop vulture capitalists from egregiously raising the price of lifesaving drugs without justification. We’re going to fight for rules to stop prescription drug price gouging and demand that drug companies justify price increases to the public. And we’re going to push for empowering Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices for older Americans.

Right now our antitrust laws are designed to allow huge corporations to merge, padding the pockets of investors but sending costs skyrocketing for everything from cable bills and airline tickets to food and health care. We are going to fight to allow regulators to break up big companies if they’re hurting consumers and to make it harder for companies to merge if it reduces competition.

Right now millions of unemployed or underemployed people, particularly those without a college degree, could be brought back into the labor force or retrained to secure full-time, higher-paying work. We propose giving employers, particularly small businesses, a large tax credit to train workers for unfilled jobs. This will have particular resonance in smaller cities and rural areas, which have experienced an exodus of young people who aren’t trained for the jobs in those areas.

Conclusion: Democrats still have no idea why they lost in 2016.

New York Cracks Down on Unlicensed Dog Walkers

By John Vibes

The New York Health Department is cracking down on independent dog walkers and using an outdated law to prevent them from doing business.

The recent conflict has been brought about by the popularity of a new dog walking app called Rover, which works much in the same way that Uber or Airbnb does.

The long-standing law prevents anyone from earning an income caring for animals unless they are a part of a licensed kennel.

The health department has recently issued a warning to pet-sitters who use Rover that they are breaking the law. Animal lovers and pet sitters throughout the city are outraged about the warning.

29-year-old Chad Bacon, a dog sitter from Brooklyn, told NY Daily News that he should not be considered a criminal if his customers are happy with his service.

“The laws are antiquated. If you’re qualified and able to provide a service, I don’t think you should be penalized,” Bacon said.

Bacon explained that he used Rover as a way to maintain and pay bills while he was in between jobs, but now he has taken on dog sitting full-time.

“I was looking at it as a way to pay bills in the meantime. It’s become a full-time job,” he said.

The battle began last October when Health Department general counsel Thomas Merrill sent a letter last to DogVacay.com, the app which has now become Rover, asking the company to require its users to get licenses before providing a service through the app. Rover declined to comply with the health departments demands, and has allowed its users to provide services to dog owners without getting kennel licenses.

Rover’s general counsel John Lapham pointed out that these laws put the poor and young people at a disadvantage.

“You [are telling] the middle class you can’t own dogs unless you can pop in your Range Rover and drive to Connecticut for a boarding facility,” Lapham said.

“If you’ve got a 14-year-old getting paid to feed your cats, that’s against the law right now. Most places right now continue to make it easier to watch children than animals, and that doesn’t make any sense,” he added.

However, Health Department spokesman Julien Martinez continues to fear-monger about the necessity of kennels.

“To ensure the health and safety of pets and reduce risks to public health, the NYC Health Code requires certain businesses to obtain a Health Department permit and comply with necessary regulations – this includes animal boarding facilities and kennels. We also conduct inspections of these facilities to make sure animals would be secure and safe,” Martinez said.

Luckily, not all of the city politicians are in agreement.

City Council health committee chair Corey Johnson promised to draft legislation to protect these dog walkers.

“It’s so crazy. There are millions of cats and dogs in New York City, and people I think believe they can pet sit or have someone pet sit for them. To have a law on the books that says that’s illegal is antiquated and not practical,” Johnson told reporters.

So far there have been no arrests, but there have been at least two New York residents who were hit with fines that started at $1,000.
