Hillary Goes To College: Clinton In Talks To Accept Columbia Professorship

Like the old joke goes: Those who can’t, teach.

And after losing an election to the most controversial and unpopular candidate in American history, Hillary Clinton is going back to school.

The New York Post is reporting, citing sources close to the Clinton camp, that the former Secretary of State is in talks to accept a professorship at Columbia University in Morningside Heights.

“She’s been in discussions about a professorship, but nothing has been locked down,” a friend of the ex-secretary of state said Thursday.

As the Post reports, the Ivy League university in upper Manhattan has been a friendly landing pad for other Democrats who have lost elections. Al Gore became a professor at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism a year after losing the 2000 presidential election to George W. Bush. And the school hired former mayor David Dinkins after he lost his re-election bid to Rudy Giuliani in 1993.

The former mayor told the Post that he’d be happy to see Clinton in Morningside Heights.

Columbia is familiar territory for the Clintons. The Clinton Foundation once had an office in Harlem. Her professorship would reportedly involve leading seminars about issues she is passionate about. No word yet on whether these will include a thorough deconstruction of the forces that cost her the 2016 election.

While Hillary has apparently been in the closet for decades over her desire to preach, she turned heads in the 90’s when investigative journalist Bob Woodward wrote in his book ‘The Choice,” that Clinton “held imaginary conversations with Eleanor Roosevelt and Mahatma Ghandi as therapeutic release.” When an advisor suggested that she communicate with Jesus Christ, she declined, saying it would be “too personal.”

In 1993, the president of Wellesley College approved a new rule that all senior theses written by a president or first lady of the United States would be kept under lock and key, a move aimed at preventing the public from learning about their new First Lady. After the Clintons left the White House, however, Hillary’s senior thesis was released to the public – a 92 page homage to radical leftist Saul Alinsky, who dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Hillary describes Alinsky as a “neo-Hobbesian who objects to the conventional mystique surrounding political processes; for him, conflict is the route to power.”

Kind of like Satan, or Jihad.

I think it’s safe to say that Hillary Clinton is a fan of Marina Abramovic, whose ‘art’ probably wouldn’t go over so well with the Methodist congregation Hillary apparently wants to preach to.

While Hillary’s base is sure to lap up her new ‘revelation’ about her faith, the rest of us aren’t buying it…

Arrested DNC Staffer Awan Retains Long-Time Clinton Associate For Legal Help

After getting arrested Monday night at Dulles Airport in Northern Virginia while attempting to flee the country on a flight to Qatar, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz" IT staffer, according to Conservative Review, has decided to hire a lawyer with longstanding connections to the Clinton family for legal help. 

Chris Gowen, a founding partner at Gowen, Rhoades, Winograd and Silva, apparently did a little bit of everything for the Clintons over the course of multiple years including working in the Clinton White House, helping President Bill Clinton write his book, "My Life", and serving on Hillary"s 2008 presidential campaign.  Per Gowen"s bio:

Mr. Gowen left the Public Defender’s office to work for former President William Jefferson Clinton and then-Senator Hillary Clinton. Chris was a fact checker for President Clinton’s memoir, My Life. He also served as a traveling aid for President Clinton’s national and international trips. Chris finished his tenure with the Clintons by directing the advance operations for then-Senator Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.

Another biography, published on the American University website, says Gowen worked with several other controversial Clinton projects, including The Clinton Global Initiative, The Clinton Foundation, and The Clinton Health Access Initiative.

Shortly after Awan’s arrest, Gowen immediately jumped into the fray and hit the ground running with allegations that Awan was a victim of Islamophobia. He labeled Awan’s arrest as part of “a right-wing media-driven prosecution by a United States Attorney’s Office that wants to prosecute people for working while Muslim"...it"s almost as if the words are coming straight from Hillary"s mouth.

As we noted last night, Imran Awan has been charged with bank fraud but it is unclear whether that charge is just a placeholder for other charges that are yet to come.  While details are scarce, media reports have alleged that Awan and his brothers potentially ran a procurement scheme in which they bought equipment, then overcharged various House members that employed their IT firm.  Meanwhile, some congressional technology aides have alleged that the Awan’s were blackmailing representatives based on the contents of their emails and files, due to the fact that these representatives have displayed unwavering and intense loyalty towards the former aides.

As background, Imran was first employed in 2004 by former Democrat Rep. Robert Wexler (FL) as an “information technology director”, before he began working in Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office in 2005.

The family was paid extremely well, with Imran Awan being paid nearly $2 million working as an IT support staffer for House Democrats since 2004. Abid Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, were each paid more than $1 million working for House Democrats. In total, since 2003, the family has collected nearly $5 million.

In total, Imran"s firm was employed by 31 Democrats in Congress, some of whom held extremely sensitive positions on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Of course, one of the most intriguing parts of the Awan narrative is precisely why former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (DWS) decided to keep him on her taxpayer-funded payroll right up until his arrest yesterday and whether that decision had anything to do with the whole DNC / Hillary email scandals that erupted last summer.

Along those lines, RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel posed the following questions to DWS earlier this morning...

...and appeared on Fox Business to discuss DWS" curious decisions with regards to Awan (forward to the 4:00 minute mark in the video below for the relevant discussion).

“[Wasserman Schultz] kept him on her staff. He was a taxpayer-funded government employee until yesterday when she finally fired him.  We need to figure out why he’s under criminal investigation and we’re not hearing that across the country right now."

"We have to get to the bottom of this, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz has obstructed at every level on something that affects potentially our national security.  We are not hearing the Democrats talk about it at all. Where’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz?”

A preliminary hearing for Mr. Awan is scheduled for August 21.

McCain Institute Donors Look Disturbingly Similar To Clinton Foundation - Soros, Teneo, Saudia Arabia...

Last fall, we spent a fair amount of time reading through John Podesta"s emails, courtesy of Wikileaks, and grew increasingly astonished with each passing day at the number of apparent conflicts of interest created by the Clinton Foundation which seemed to be nothing more than a front created for the Clintons to peddle their influence around the world in return for staggering "charitable" donations.

Take, for example, our posts which questioned whether the CEO of Dow Chemical, Andrew Liveris, made very sizable contributions to the Clinton Foundation just so he could get an audience with then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to discuss his failed $9 billion joint venture with Kuwait.  Here are a couple of posts which provide some background:

Or, there was that time that Hillary was offered $12 million from Moroccan King Mohammed VI just to host her annual "Clinton Global Initiative" meeting in his country.

And don"t even get us started on Doug Band who spent years with the Clintons before starting his own "consulting" practice called Teneo (see:  Doug Band Exposes Foundation"s "For-Profit Activity Of President Clinton (i.e., Bill Clinton, Inc.)")

Now, an exclusive report on the "McCain Institute" published earlier today from the Daily Caller (DC) has us wondering who else in Congress might just be running miniature Clinton Foundation-ish organizations and enriching their personal families in the process. 

As the DC points out, the McCain Institute"s donor list looks eerily similar to that of the Clinton Foundation. 

In addition to the "who"s who" of massive corporate donors (Chevron, Cisco, FedEx, Wal-Mart...), many of which were also large contributors to the Clinton Foundation, the McCain Institute counts many other more "questionable" donors, including Saudi Arabia, Teneo (Doug Band"s firm) and George Soros, among its largest. 

As the DC points out, one such "questionable" donor that took interest in the McCain Institute was OCP, S.A., a Moroccan state-owned phosphate company.  Ironically, OCP just happened to also be a "major sponsor" of the Clinton Global Initiative where Bill was a featured speaker.

It accepted more than $100,000 from OCP, S.A., a Moroccan state-owned phosphate company operating in the Western Sahara, territory which Morocco seized in 1975. The North African country has since occupied the region by force in defiance of U.N. resolutions and legal declarations by other international bodies.

Morocco has come under criticism from human rights groups that the government violates basic human rights and that its state-owned companies subject its workforce to gruesome conditions while exploiting the disputed territory’s natural resources.

The Western Sahara holds half of the world’s phosphate reserves. Used to make fertilizer, phosphate is called Morocco’s “white gold.”

OCP also was a major sponsor of the CGI meeting, and Bill Clinton was the featured speaker.

And then there is the Pivotal Foundation...

The McCain group has also accepted at least $100,000 from the Pivotal Foundation, which was created by Francis Najafi who owns the Pivotal Group, a private equity and real estate firm.

The Pivotal Foundation has in the last three years given $205,000 to the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC), which has been a vocal advocate for the Iranian nuclear deal the Obama administration negotiated.

The NIAC web site claims the group “is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the voice of Iranian Americans and promoting greater understanding between the American and Iranian people.”

But NIAC President Trita Parsi has long been an advocate for Iran, including demanding in May 2017 that President Donald Trump and officials in his administration “cease questioning the integrity of a (nuclear) deal.”

The NIAC is “Iran’s lobbyists in Washington,” charged Aresh Salih, the Washington representative of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan. “People inside of Iran know them as their lobbyists in Washington, D.C.,” Salih told TheDCNF.

The NIAC does not file as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, nor does it register as a lobbyist with Congress.

...not to mention Soros and Teneo who apparently gave all their money to the Clintons and could only afford a $25,000-$99,999 donation to McCain.

Not surprisingly, pretty much everyone who understands these "charitable fronts" think they"re a bad idea...afterall, we sincerely doubt that random Moroccan fertilizer companies suddenly performed random searches for charities of interest and just happened to settle upon both the Clinton Foundation and the McCain Institute.  No, we suspect they are looking for more from these organizations than just a tax deduction and a "warm and fuzzy" feeling in their hearts.

“This is a very real conflict of interest,” Craig Holman, a government affairs lobbyist at Public Citizen, told TheDCNF. “This is the similar type of pattern we received with the Clinton Foundation in which foreign governments and foreign interests were throwing a lot of money in the hopes of trying to buy influence.”

Lawrence Noble, general counsel for the Campaign Legal Center, told the DCNF that accepting contributions in the name of a sitting senator like McCain raises troubling issues.

“In terms of the ethics of it, it does raise a broad question of people trying to get good will with the elected official,” he said. “From a personal standpoint, I’d rather not see these entities exist.”

Of course, the real question is just how many congressional representatives have managed to setup similar organizations that we"re not even aware of yet.

Hedge Fund Of Hillary Clinton's Son-In-Law Has Shut Down

Less than one year ago, we reported that Marc Mezvinsky, the husband of Chelsea Clinton and the son in law of Hillary and Bill Clinton, had shut down its Greek Fund after suffering 90% losses. To wit:

Despite having Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein as an investor and being Bill and Hillary Clinton"s son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky (and two former colleagues from Goldman Sachs who manage Eaglevale Partners hedge fund) told investors in a letter last February they had been "incorrect" on Greece, generating staggering losses for the firm’s main Eaglevale Hellenic Opportunity, a/k/a the "Greek recovery" fund during most of its life. By "incorrect" the Clinton heir apparent meant the $25 million Eaglevale Greek fund had lost a stunning 48% in 2014.

The closure took place just three years after Institutional Investor proclaimed Mezvinsky "a hedge fund rising star" in 2013.

In late 2011, Marc Mezvinsky co-founded New York-based, macro-focused hedge fund firm Eaglevale Partners with Bennett Grau and Mark Mallon, two Goldman Sachs Group proprietary traders whom he"d gotten to know when they all worked at the bank. Best known as the husband of Chelsea Clinton, Mezvinsky, 35, who has a BA in religious studies and philosophy from Stanford University and an MA in politics, philosophy and economics from the University of Oxford, has been quietly building his finance career. Before launching his own firm, the longtime Clinton family friend was a partner and global macro portfolio manager at New York- and Rio de Janeiro-based investment house 3G Capital. Eaglevale manages more than $400 million.

Alas, he was anything but, and instead of having a real grasp of macroeconomic events, or how to - you know - hedge, he decided to dump millions in Greece just before the country entered a death spiral that culminated with its third bailout, capital controls, insolvent banks and a terminally crippled economy.

Meanwhile, things went from terrible to abysmal for both the clueless hedge fund manager and his LPs, and as the NYT reports, Hillary Clinton"s son-in-law is finally shutting down the Greece-focused fund, after losing nearly 90% of its value.  Investors were told last month that Eaglevale Hellenic Opportunity would finally be put out of its misery and would shutter.

Fast forward to today when moments ago, Bloomberg reported that some time around the end of 2016, Mezvnisky decided to shut down his entire operation:

Eaglevale Partners, the hedge fund co-founded by Marc Mezvinsky, the son-in-law of Hillary and Bill Clinton, closed in December, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Eaglevale, based in New York, is in the process of returning money to clients, said the person who asked not to be named because the firm is private.

Eaglevale was started by former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. traders Bennett Grau, Mark Mallon and Mezvinsky in 2011. They had previously worked together on the bank’s global macro proprietary-trading desk. A spokesman for Eaglevale declined to comment on the news, which was reported earlier by Hedge Fund Alert.

Why shutter so fast after the Hillary defeat? Perhaps because without having links into the state department, or the broader US government, any "informational arbitrage" edge Mezvinsky had hoped to have with Hillary as president, was finally gone.

Clintons Already Plotting Their Comeback As Chelsea Is Being Groomed For Congressional Run

Just when you think the country is finally done with the Clintons in public office, you wake up to the following headline from the NY Post highlighting a potential Chelsea run for Congress.

According to the NY Post, the Clintons" recent purchase of their neighbor"s home in Chappaqua was a strategic move to setup Westchester residency for Chelsea who could then run for Nita Lowey"s seat in NYC"s 17th Congressional District.

While some pundits are declaring the Clinton political dynasty dead, sources tell us that it is far from over. Chelsea Clinton is being groomed for the New York seat held by Rep. Nita Lowey.

Chelsea could run for the seat in NYC’s 17th Congressional District once Lowey, a 79-year-old respected career politician with nearly 30 years in office, decides to retire, we have exclusively learned.

Lowey’s district includes parts of Rockland and Westchester counties and, conveniently, Chappaqua, the Clinton family home base.

In August, Hillary and Bill Clinton purchased a home next door to their primary residence in Chappaqua for $1.16 million, which is intended for Chelsea, her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, and their two children, Charlotte and Aidan.

While Chelsea currently lives, and is registered to vote, in Manhattan, she could easily make Chappaqua her legal residence in order to run for Lowey’s seat when it becomes vacant.

A source told us, “While it is true the Clintons need some time to
regroup after Hillary’s crushing loss, they will not give up. Chelsea
would be the next extension of the Clinton brand. In the past few years,
she has taken a very visible role in the Clinton Foundation and on the
campaign trail. While politics isn’t the life Hillary wanted for
Chelsea, she chose to go on the campaign trail for her mother and has
turned out to be very poised, articulate and comfortable with the
visibility.”

As Doug Band would say, it seems as though young Chelsea is still trying to find her way in life...

"She is acting like a spoiled brat kid who has nothing else to do but create issues to justify what she"s doing because she, as she has said, hasn"t found her way and has a lack of focus in her life. I realize she will be off of this soon but if it doesn"t come soon enough...."
