Government Prepares for Meteor Storm (VIDEO)

As Conspiracy Corner is supposed to, “Highlight the week’s most significant and under-reported news events throughout the world, focusing on special preparation for the difficult times ahead for all mankind”, one of the most apropos fulfillment of this mantra, will be this story . . .

If you follow the alternative media, then you are more likely to have heard, in some part, of the events I will discuss. Though some of these occurrences may have been casually mentioned by the Mainstream Media in order to appear as if they are reporting actual events from time to time, the problem is, when these topics are briefly discussed by the Corporate Propaganda Press, they deliberately fail to give their audience the important overview of what the pieces of the puzzle really mean, once you put them all together. When you painstakingly group the pieces into one, as I have done, to see the complete revealing picture, as the media is supposed to do for the public they falsely claim to “serve”, it reveals a most alarming image.

On Tuesday, October 4, 2016, a “fireball” (an asteroid falling to earth as a meteor) was reported over northeastern Canada and the United States. On Monday, September 26, 2016, another meteor was seen over eastern Australia. On Thursday, June 2, 2016, a meteor was spotted over Arizona.

Just as it often “sprinkles” a little bit before it rains a downpour, the same could be said of meteor storms. While most are harmless and merely “light up the sky”, the meteor which exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia on Friday, February 15, 2013, had the explosive power of 29 Hiroshima atomic bombs . . . and this was just one, not several at the same time, as a meteor storm would inevitably bring.

Fortunately, this powerful meteor over Russia never reached the ground. If it did, it is likely that thousands would have been killed, tens to hundreds of thousands had the meteor hit a populated area. All four of these aforementioned meteors were not “officially” discovered in advance, in that, if the governments of the world had foreknowledge of these asteroids (and they may not have), they kept the information to themselves, “to not cause public panic”, as would have likely been the arrogant-selfish excuse.

As you can see, the natural track of a meteor is a straight line, normally perceived at about a forty-five degree angle from the point of view of the observer.

Because the Arizona meteor occurred just before sunrise, a local photographer took a picture of the “aftermath” in the sky, just as the day was dawning.

The Lying Corporate Media claimed that this irregular zigzag pattern in the sky was caused by “upper atmosphere wind”, as no “swamp gas” was available to blame.

Obviously, a missile was fired at the Arizona meteor.

The Arizona meteor was not of such a size nor in such a location that it posed any threat to life or property . . . Why then was a missile fired at it?

To Practice.

To practice for what?

An Upcoming Meteor Storm.

I will keep reminding us of the following point until it hits home . . .

On Tuesday, August 27, 2013, outgoing “Homeland Security” director Janet Napolitano said . . .

“A natural disaster . . .

the likes of which the nation has never seen . . .

is likely on its way.”

Napolitano then implied that she was resigning so that she would not have to deal with this foretold calamity (although she did not say exactly what it was), even joking that her successor would “Need a big bottle of Tylenol” to deal with the coming event.

Just as President Eisenhower, on the last day of his presidency, gave his final and ominous warning about the “shadow government”, which was subverting the will of the congress and the people, Napolitano also issued a personalized “farewell warning” of her own, though sworn to secrecy as to not specifically reveal the details thereof, rather doing so in such a way as to longingly clear the conscious of her duplicit mind, not actually warning her countrymen, as she swore to do as “Homeland Security” director, protecting instead confidential corporate and government interests, as ordered by her unscrupulous superiors.  (These destinations alone will be the only locations they choose to protect in the very near future, hence the practice missile in Arizona, with which to do so.)

Nevertheless, she left three clues as to the upcoming event to which she was really referring.

1)  The impending calamity is NATURAL.

2)  A disaster which the USA has NEVER BEFORE SEEN.

3)  A catastrophe PREDICTABLE YEARS IN ADVANCE.

 Hummm . . .

There is only ONE type of event that I know of which fits . . .

all THREE categories . . .

A Disaster from Outer Space.

A Comet, Asteroid, Meteor Storm, or “Rouge Planet”, which can cause all of these, is a natural disaster, it has never before happened in the USA, and it can be predicted years in advance, due to the calculable geometrical pathways by which the heavenly bodies move.

The fact that there is a sudden increase in meteors, is a bad sign for mankind. The fact that the Arizona meteor was fired upon by a government missile as a “test” and kept a secret, is a bad sign for mankind. The fact that our own government leaders, sworn to protect us, refuse to give the citizens under their alleged care specific details about such a coming disaster so that they can be best prepared for it, is also a very bad sign.

Apparently the “Elite” want to depopulate us “useless eaters” from the surface of the earth, without going down in history as the next genocidal maniac. Thusly, by not properly warning the public of this coming catastrophe, they intend to let “mother nature” do the dirty work of “depopulation” for them, which all of their rich world leaders are continually talking about being a “good thing” for planet Earth. (Since when is it good for billions of people to die?)

If you are a Believer in Divine Prophecy, that is, the ability to Spiritually Discern global events hundreds, if not thousands, of years in advance, then you may take note of this . . .

“People fainting from terror . . .

as to what is coming upon the world . . .

for the HEAVENLY BODIES will be shaken.”

“The stars of heaven fell upon the earth . . .

Kings and Rich Men hiding inside of mountains.”

You might also wish to note that “Cheyenne Mountain”, a Department of Defense “Cold War” bunker, inside of a mountain, is admittedly being re-stocked at this hour . . . for the “Kings” (word leaders) and the “Rich Men” (the “Elite” who own the media, and who for their own selfish motives, are not informing the public enough in advance to save them from the coming cataclysm.)

Yet now, you few out there, have been warned.

What will you do about it?

If you are a Believer, then do not be mistaken to think that the Creator Himself will deliver your daily food and water during this coming trail for which you have been warned, if you do not act upon the warning which you received.

“My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.”

Perhaps this is why the “Rich Elite” like owning ALL of the mainstream media . . . so that they can limit this SAVING KNOWLEDGE for themselves and their kindred alone.

It has been said that the older testimonies in the Scriptures, which were suffered by the Patriarchs locally, are examples to us in the Last Days WORLDWIDE, to warn us that the same suffering which they endured regionally will be experienced GLOBALLY in the Last Days, so that we may follow their past prudent example . . . NOW.

If you read Genesis 41:25-37 , you will see that during the Seven Years of “Tribulation” (famine) that our forefathers (Joseph) suffered, it was not survived by them because the Creator personally dropped food from the sky every day, rather they endured this crisis by adhering to a Divine Prophetic Warning, which was given to them in advance, “to those with ears that hear”, and thusly they were saved by preparing for the coming calamity about which they were warned.

“It Was Like A War Zone” – Heavy Winds Push Wildfires Toward San Diego As Bel Air Burns

Images of charred palm trees and the burnt-out husks of multi-million-dollar homes flooded social media for a fifth day Friday as the SoCal wildfires that exploded into life at the beginning of the week showed no signs of slowing.

Instead, some of the largest fires have entered the heart of Los Angeles – America’s second largest city – and are menacing some of the most expensive homes in the country.

To date, six large wildfires have scorched 141,000 acres in the state, with the flames spreading as far south as San Diego, Cal Fire officials said. At least 5,700 firefighters from several agencies and at least nine states are working to contain the massive walls of flames. The fires have forced 190,000 people out of their homes in a hurry. Many took only their pets and a few choice mementos.

The Skirball fire that’s terrorizing Bel Air isn’t nearly as large as some of the other fires raging in Ventura and LA counties, but it has had an outsize impact in terms of cost. Two days ago, local media reported that the fire had torched a mansion owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Though Murdoch later clarified that the property was (mostly) intact, other homes in the area are at risk of being reduced to cinders.

So far, the fire has damaged many homes in the hills of Bel Air, Los Angeles’ most expensive neighborhood according to Zillow. At least six of those, which Zillow estimates to be worth around $20 million, were completely destroyed on Wednesday.

According to the Wall Street Journal, about 1,700 homes were in mandatory evacuation zones from the Skirball Fire. The company estimates the homes’ values totaled $6.4 billion, where the median home value is just under $3 million.

Beyond Bel Air, there are 86,242 homes in Ventura and Los Angeles counties that are at “some level of risk” from the Thomas, Rye and Creek Wildfires, according to CoreLogic. The combined reconstruction cost value of these properties is $27.7 billion – nearly triple the $10 billion in damages caused by the NorCal fires.

In Ventura County alone, 14,300 homes valued at a total of $10.4 billion were in mandatory evacuation zones, according to Zillow.

Just like with the fires that devastated California’s wine country two months ago, the powerful Santa Ana winds have exacerbated the devastation. After a brief lull on Tuesday, the winds picked back up again Wednesday. And though they’re expected to taper off again – albeit briefly – late Friday, winds of up to 80 mph are expected to continue through Sunday, making it difficult for firefighters to tame the blazes.

“We are in the beginning of a protracted wind event,” Ken Pimlott, the director of the California department of forestry and fire protection, told the Los Angeles Times. “There will be no ability to fight fire in these kinds of winds.”

All together, the four fires in Southern California – possibly the most destructive in the state’s history – have scorched more than 116,000 acres so far, and despite the round-the-clock work of thousands of firefighters since Tuesday, they are still burning ferociously with little to no containment. For example, the Thomas fire northwest of Ventura is barely 5% contained.

All around the region, people encountered nightmarish conditions as flames seemed to come from everywhere. Patricia Hampton, 48, said she and her boyfriend woke up at her house in Ventura on Tuesday night to the sound of helicopters. Outside, the ground was covered in ash, the air so smoky it was hard to breathe as they hopped on bicycles and tried to flee, according to the Washington Post.

“We didn’t know what had happened. We rode down into town trying to make sense of what we were seeing — police everywhere, firetrucks, helicopters,” she said at a temporary shelter at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. “It was like a war zone. You could hear transformers blowing up.”

Authorities are warning residents in nearby communities to prepare to evacuate, even if they aren’t directly impacted by the fire. Residents should be ready to evacuate even if they don’t live in areas immediately affected by flames, Cal Fire Division Chief Nick Schuler said Thursday night. Families should have an escape plan ready to go just in case, he said.

“They need to prepare as if they will be impacted. Where are they gonna go? What are their escape routes? What is their communication to their families?” he said.

Adding to the devastation in the region, the Lilac Fire in San Diego County started Thursday and grew to 4,100 acres in a few hours, leading to new evacuation orders. Evacuation centers have been set up in affected areas.

The Lilac Fire has left three people with burn injuries and two firefighters hurt. One firefighter suffered smoke inhalation while the second one had a dislocated shoulder. The latter popped it back into place and continued working, Schuler said. According to CNN, school boards have shut down schools spanning at least 16 districts.

Gov. Jerry Brown issued an emergency proclamation for Santa Barbara and San Diego counties. The declarations free state resources such as the National Guard to support response efforts. He’s also requested federal assistance to supplement state and local emergency response.

Per CNN, here’s a quick summary of the six largest fires.

• Thomas Fire: The largest of the six blazes started Monday in Ventura County, and has scorched 115,000 acres. It’s only 5% contained, and has destroyed at least 150 homes and threatening thousands more in Ventura, about 50 miles (80 km) north-west of Los Angeles.


• Creek Fire: The second-largest fire is in neighboring Los Angeles County, and ignited a day later. It has burned 15,323 acres and is 20% contained.


• Rye Fire: It broke out Tuesday in Los Angeles County and has burned 7,000 acres. Firefighters are making progress, with 25% of the blaze contained.


• Lilac Fire: This fast-moving fire erupted Thursday in San Diego County, and has consumed 4,100 acres in just a few hours. It’s unclear what percentage of it is contained.


• Skirball Fire: It started Wednesday as a brush fire in Los Angeles County, and is now 30% contained.


• Liberty Fire: The blaze in Riverside County has burned 300 acres since it ignited Thursday. It’s 5% contained.

While no deaths have been reported so far as a direct result of the flames, three residents have been burned while trying to flee. And one woman was found dead after a car crash in an area under an evacuation order, the authorities said on Thursday, according to the GuardianWith 2017 on track to be the most destructive year for wildfires in California history, experts are warning that this could be the new status quo, given dry conditions across the state.

The Santa Ana winds are an entirely natural phenomenon of course, and they usually peak during the month of December. What is unusual is that wildfires peak during the autumn period. But because of the ongoing drought across California and the very dry weather during October and November, the conditions have been ripe for the wildfire outbreak we are now witnessing.

The current weather pattern is consistent with what climatologists refer to as the ‘Ridiculously Resilient Ridge’ which has become more prevalent in recent years. This results in cold weather across eastern parts of US, and unseasonably warm weather in western areas that we are seeing this month.

As this weather pattern intensifies, expect deadly blazes to become a perennial concern, Al Jazeera reported.

Island Nation Of Vanuatu Evacuated As Volcano Erupts

Natural disasters are coming fast and furious around the globe.  About 6,000 people have been evacuated from the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu because of an erupting volcano.

Although the Monaro volcano on Ambae island has been active since 2005, however, sudden activity on Saturday raised fears of a major eruption.  The director of Vanuatu’s National Disaster Management Office Shadrack Welegtabit said on Tuesday that Vanuatu would declare an emergency on the island after the volcano’s activity measure was raised to Level Four for the first time over the weekend.

Vanuatu is located about one-quarter of the way from Australia to Hawaii.  It’s made up of 80 islands, about 65 of which are inhabited, and is home to around 280,000 people. The nation is considered one of the world’s most prone to natural disasters, with a half-dozen active volcanoes as well as regular cyclones and earthquakes.  It rests on the Pacific’s ‘Ring of Fire,’ the arc of seismic faults around the Pacific Ocean where earthquakes and volcanoes are common.

Welegtabit also said those villagers had been moved into schools and community halls in the island’s eastern and western regions and that authorities have already planned to send a ship to the island filled with water, food, and other supplies to help those people who had been displaced. That ship is due to arrive on Wednesday.

Almost 50,000 people are currently evacuated from the island nation of Bali in Indonesia as well, due to an imminent volcanic eruption there.
‘There’s ash, fire, stones, and lava being thrown out from the mouth of the volcano,” Welegtabit said. “There’s a lot of activity going on.” He also said that it’s difficult to say whether there will be a major eruption and that those who have been evacuated will just have to sit and wait for further instruction. At this time, evacuees are in limbo.

Vanuatu was also close to a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred on September 20 of this year.

Vanuatu’s Meteorology and Geohazards Department said that villagers within 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) of the volcano face the biggest risk from airborne rocks and volcanic gas.  The department also warned that acid rain could damage crops across a broader area.

“With the seismic machine, we can measure what’s happening but we can’t really predict what the volcano will do next,” he said.

Footage Of Mexican Earthquake Shows Buildings Collapse And Explode

Footage of an explosion shortly after the 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Mexico City yesterday is terrifying.  Flames can be seen engulfing the building as a ring of fire crawls into the sky.

Buildings in Mexico City shook as the quake rumbled below them, and office workers fled into the street for fear of their lives. There have been reports of widespread fires in buildings across the capital and several people are said to be trapped.  Most recent reports put the death toll at 216, and that number could still climb.

Perhaps the most sensational and horrifying video of the destruction is that of an exploding building. The video begins as a fire is already burning.  Then you’ll hear a loud “pop” as the fireball extends toward the sky.

Residents in the city also caught a building collapse on video shortly after the earthquake.

The epicenter of the 7.1-magnitude earthquake was 2.8 miles (4.5 kilometers) east-northeast of San Juan Raboso and 34.1 miles (55 km) south-southwest of the city of Puebla, in Puebla state, according to the US Geological Survey. President Enrique Peña Nieto said 22 bodies were found in the debris of an elementary school in Mexico City that collapsed due to the earthquake. At least 30 children were still missing Tuesday night, he said.

The earthquake generated fears of a tsunami as well.  But officials say that the epicenter was too far inland for a wave to be created from this one. Nearly 5 million are still without power.

Tuesday’s earthquake came just eleven days after a magnitude-8.1 earthquake struck off the southern coast of the country, killing at least 90, according to the governor of the hard-hit state of Oaxaca.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is worth a million. Below you’ll see videos from different parts of Florida that show you the true wrath of Hurricane Irma.

Irma first made landfall in the Florida Keys as a Category 4 hurricane. The second landfall occurred as a Category 3 on Marco Island.

In some positive news, Irma lost power over night and was been downgraded to a Category 1 by the time it hit Tampa and St. Petersburg.

Millions of Floridians are without power. (Last night it was estimated that 7 million people were in a blackout.) Florida Power and Light has said that the restoration will be a “slow and dangerous process that could take weeks.” (source)

The danger isn’t over yet, even though the Hurricane has been downgraded. A CNN meteorologist tells us what to expect:

Irma is moving up through Florida Monday morning, said CNN meteorologist Taylor Ward. The storm will weaken as it travels over land. The storm’s eye will move through southern Georgia by Monday afternoon. There is the potential for hurricane-force winds of at least 74 mph in northern Florida and southern Georgia, Ward said, and tropical-storm-force winds of least 35 mph will be felt in the Atlanta metropolitan area later.

By late Monday, the storm will reach northern Alabama but the impact will be felt well in advance because of its size, Ward said. There is also the threat of tornadoes in southeast Georgia and coastal South Carolina, Ward said.

The storm is expected to move on to western Tennessee by late Tuesday, Ward said.

“While the worst is over for southern Florida, the flood and wind threat will continue for portions of northern Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Southern Carolina,” he said. (source)

People Who Chose To Not Evacuate For Hurricane Told To Put SSN On Arms

Tens of thousands of Texans have evacuated their homes fearing Hurricane Harvey. Now, one local leader in a coastal Texas community had told residents who chose to stay home during the hurricane, to write their names and Social Security numbers on their arms.

Rockport Mayor Pro Tem Patrick Rios said at a news conference, “We’re suggesting if people are going to stay here, mark their arm with a Sharpie pen with their name and Social Security number.”  He went on to say, “We hate to talk about things like that. It’s not something we like to do but it’s the reality, people don’t listen.” But if people don’t listen to evacuation orders, what makes the mayor assume people will willingly mark themselves?

Rios wants people marked to make things easier for the government in the event of deaths. He also claims that that grim step is necessary to prepare for the worst in case scenario of numerous deaths among the people who freely chose to remain in the area.  If you think this sounds a little bit like Nazis forcing the Jews to wear yellow stars on their clothing for a quick government identification, you aren’t the only one.

According to ABC News, seven counties and five cities, including Rockport, had issued mandatory evacuations, while several other areas have issued voluntary evacuations. For those evacuating or staying, certain steps can be taken ahead of the storm’s expected landfall early Saturday morning to protect your home and property from damage.

Hurricane Harvey’s destruction has already begun with 20 inches of rain and catastrophic winds reported.

Tropical Storm Harvey has stalled over Texas where extreme rainfall has occurred in the Houston metro area, leading to record-breaking, catastrophic flooding. Days of drenching downpours are ahead along with the potential for tornadoes and lingering coastal flooding.

Localized rain amounts of 40-50 inches are not out of the question once Harvey’s rain is finished later this week. This may end up being one of the worst flood disasters in U.S. history.

 In the 24 hours through Sunday 4 a.m. CDT, parts of the southeast Houston metro area had received more than 20 inches of rain. One location in far southeast Harris County near Webster logged 23.72 inches of rain in 24 hours and 25.92 inches in 48 hours. –The Weather Channel

So far, two deaths have been reported due to the hurricane and it isn’t clear if those deceased took the Mayor of Rockport’s advice and wrote their names and social security numbers on their arms, but it seems unlikely.

 A person was found dead in a vehicle in Houston on Saturday night in a possible drowning amid flooding in the city, a Houston fire department spokesperson said. A man died in a house fire in Aransas County after rescuers could not get to him late Friday or early Saturday, the county judge said. –NBC News

Harvey is expected to dump even more rain over Texas in the next few days, potentially triggering catastrophic flooding. “A lot of the damage is yet to come,” FEMA Administrator Brock Long told MSNBC. “Rainfall is going to be tremendous inland.”

USGS Says California Needs Close Monitoring Of 8 Active Volcanoes

California could be even closer to a major natural disaster than ever before.  With eight active volcanoes and a high state population, the United States Geological Survey says that the Golden State is in desperate need of very close monitoring.

“I call them the watch-list volcanoes,” said Margaret Mangan, Scientist-in-Charge at the California Volcano Observatory. Scientists know from geophysical and geochemical research that these volcanoes have molten rock and magma, “in their roots,”  and the world’s top volcanologists aren’t taking any chances anymore.  They are heading to Portland, Oregon on August 14 for the first international volcanology assembly held in the U.S. since 1989. The many famous, prominent, and dangerous volcanoes of the West Coast will be the subject of field trips and much discussion during the assembly.

Throughout the Cascade Range and into southern California, the West Coast is home to most of the country’s highest-threat volcanoes, as ranked by the United State Geological Survey, making California a ticking time bomb. As if the earthquake threat on the heavily populated West Coast wasn’t enough, scientists are now concerned about the volcanic activity as well. While Mount Shasta unsurprisingly tops USGS’s list of very-high threat volcanoes in California, there are seven other volcanic areas in the state that are also “young, nervy, jacked up on magma, and likely to erupt.”

Back in 2005, a national team led by John Ewert, a volcanologist with the USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory, established a system for other volcanologists, which would help them decide which of the United States’ 169 young volcanoes are the most dangerous and most in need of monitoring. In the “Framework for a National Volcano Early Warning System,” Ewert’s team identified 57 priority volcanoes in the U.S., and eight just in California are now on high alert.

Roughly half of the nation’s 169 young volcanoes are dangerous because of the manner in which they erupt and the communities within their reach.Volcanologists are going to be monitoring these volcanoes in California closely, and maybe they can give those nearest some kind of warning should major changes signaling an eruption occur.

“This Is Not a Drill”: Collapsing Dam Forces 200,000 to Evacuate With Floods Still Coming

The overflow of a faulty dam and emergency spillway has created an ongoing emergency in Oroville, while is about an hour and half north of Sacramento.

Flood waters have already breached the spillway from the tallest dam in the entire United States. Ironically, the flooding dam comes after an intense five-year drought that nearly wiped out California, only for heavy rains to bring many of California’s water reservoirs back to – and over – capacity.

In the worst case scenario, officials predict that within a matter of hours, the entire town of Oroville could be covered in waters as high as 100 feet, while the floods would traverse towards Yuba City, some 30 miles south where they could see flood waters as high as 10 feet. Several other towns in between could also be heavily flooded.

A gaping 250-foot chasm was expected to collapse and unleash a 30ft ‘tsunami’ tidal wave that could have killed thousands and left nearby towns under 100ft of flood water.Tens of thousands of panicked residents took to the freeways, causing total gridlock on the roads and sending anxiety levels soaring as they wondered if the dam would burst while they were sat in their cars.

‘Everyone was running around; it was pure chaos,’ Oroville resident Maggie Cabral told CNN affiliate KFSN on Sunday.

‘All of the streets were immediately packed with cars, people in my neighborhood grabbing what they could and running out the door and leaving. I mean, even here in Chico, there’s just traffic everywhere.’

“Around 3pm we were advised of a hole that was developing near the lower edge of the alternative slash emergency spillway, which has been used to reduce the level of the lake given that the main spillway was damaged a couple days ago,” Sheriff Kory Honea told a press conference, adding that he was advised of the “imminent danger” that it would collapse.

Explaining his decision to promptly evacuate the area, the sheriff said the authorities had “significant concern that [the erosion] would compromise the integrity of the spillway.”

“We had to make a very critical and difficult decision to initiate evacuation,” he said, adding that he “could not risk the lives of thousands of people.”
Officials are set to re-evaluate the evacuation orders at dawn, Reuters reported.

Measuring 770 feet (230 meters) high, the Oroville dam is the tallest dam in the United States. It exceeds the Hoover Dam by more than 40 feet (12 meters).

Assuming that this area dodges a bullet, and avoids total disaster, it still a part of California which seems to be facing the worst of luck.

With extensive drought comes risk of water rationing, skyrocketing prices and a threat to agricultural production; with extensive rains, come dangerous flooding which obvious California is not prepared to handle.

It seems that all extremes have impacted California harshly, and it continues to be a risky area, particularly for those dependent upon large metropolitan areas. Regardless, heavy taxation, dense population, thick traffic and a vengeance from Mother Nature have not made for appealing circumstances.

DASH CAM FOOTAGE: How This Driver Escaped “The Moment He Was Caught In A Flash Flood”

Severe flooding hit the West Coast, and drivers everywhere were caught in life-threatening flash floods. The loss of life and property damage are already significant.

What would you do if caught driving in flash flood conditions, and rising water was headed for your vehicle?

According to the Daily Mail:

Mark Chagaris uploaded video to YouTube of the terrifying flash flood – and while it’s unclear if he was the driver who captured the chilling scene on the dashboard cam – what is clear is that the surge of water was definitely dangerous.

The canny driver manages to reverse course and back quickly away from the muddy surge, which flush wave after wave of water over the road as his windshield wipers go full blast.

‘Mother Nature Speaks Loudly’ Chagaris captioned the video, which has so far received almost 250,000 views. This year’s California El Niño is so intense that it’s been nicknamed ‘Darth Niño.’

This man got away without incident after facing an epic force of nature. And thanks to his dash cam, he captured video of it while driving north of Los Angeles.

After waters rushed over the highway, he man backed up, reversing course down the road as the flood threatened to subsume his vehicle, before turning around and heading for higher ground…

Evacuations and orders to move to higher ground are driving the temporary relocation of thousands of people, and the episodes of flooding could take place in other places as well. As

Some 3,000 people in Sonoma County are under evacuation orders, and at least seven homes are seriously damaged.

“Our biggest concern is possible trees coming down, power outages,” said John Gulserian of the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services.

In the town of San Anselmo, police ordered people out of the downtown area because of rising flood waters, telling them to either evacuate or move to higher floors. A mudslide pushed a tree into a house in the town of Fairfax, California, trapping four people including two children. (source)

Unfortunately, an uptick of extreme weather has put millions of people, particularly in coastal urban areas at risk of encounter with flooded waterways or property damage in homes and buildings.

If you are caught in flooding, or compelled to evacuate in your vehicle during an emergency and must pass through or near flooded roads, keep in mind the overwhelming force that this water holds when up against any vehicle. Crossings that appear safe enough could end up sweeping a driver away to his death. Hundreds of people die this way in the average year.

As Tess Pennington notes, you must keep these factors remember during a flash flood:

The following are important points to remember when driving in flood conditions:

Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars causing loss of control and possible stalling.
A foot of water will float many vehicles.
Two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles including sport utility vehicles (SUV’s) and pick-ups.

In the event that you end up stranded, unable to cross over a necessary roadway, or you crash into an embankment without knowing when help will arrive, it would be prudent to keep some basic supplies in a 72-hour kit, etc. to help keep you sustained if conditions put you in a bad spot.

Additionally, supplies to deal with getting out of your car – busting windows, cutting seatbelt straps, flares and radios to signal for help and other items could be invaluable if you are trapped in a car during a flodo, or disabled by a crash.

As Daisy Luther explains:

Your car kit should see you through at least 48 hours.  Do you have enough water and food that doesn’t require cooking to get your family through an event like this? Do you have a way to keep small children entertained? Go here to see what I keep in my car kit. Yes, it’s extensive, but in a situation like this one, we could last for days without waiting for a helicopter to drop supplies to us.

Whenever possible, evacuate before things get this bad.  Timing is everything when it comes to an evacuation. If you get out early, you won’t get stuck in traffic and are less likely to encounter insurmountable hazards. Of course, you can’t always make it out ahead of the crowd, especially in a situation with conditions that strike suddenly, like wildfire (check out the videos here to see how fast it can happen) or flash floods.

Keep your gas tank above 3/4 full.  If you get stranded, you may need to run your vehicle for warmth, to keep the cell phone battery charged, and to listen to news updates. You’ll be glad you kept the tank topped up.
