Geopolitical Expert: The Coming Financial Crisis Is ‘Going To Be A BLOODBATH’

Charles Nenner, a geopolitical expert, and financial cycle analyst says the coming financial crisis will see the DOW Jones at 5,000. Nenner went on to say that it’s going to be “very bad,” yet he remains “dollar positive.”

Nenner, who appeared in an interview with USA Watchdog’s Greg Hunter said the coming financial crisis will be “Very bad. I called for Dow Jones 5,000, and I still call for Dow Jones 5,000. . . . It’s going to be a bloodbath, but as I said the last time, in the 1990’s when the Dow was 5,000, the world still looked okay.”

“The mainstream media talking heads are telling you to buy, but never tell you to sell,” Nenner says. He added that the time to sell stocks is getting close and explains, “It’s just a hopeless situation. I feel sorry for people who invest their money. We have had a nice ride, but soon the whole thing will come tumbling down. They listen to all these things and have no clue on how to invest . . . . I think soon . . . this will become the longest expansion in financial history. . . . So, this could be the longest expansion ever, what are you playing with? You are gambling with nonsense. So, it’s over.”

Nenner goes on to say, “Then, you have the inflation story. The inflation story is brought about by people who don’t do their historical homework. They remember for the last 30 years, there was always inflation. So, they continue to talk about inflation. I proved that in most of the financial history that deflation is the norm. . . . They have talked about inflation for two years, and there is still no inflation. . . . Copper is going down. Crude is going down, and we have a deflation problem, not an inflation problem.”

When asked about whether or not a big debt reset is coming, Nenner says, “The last time we were in this situation was when Roosevelt was President. It was very interesting because they paid off only 25% on the dollar because the inflation that came. Now, the problem is if you don’t have inflation, you still owe the whole amount of money. This is why they urgently need this inflation. So, the value of the money goes down, and you have to pay off less. There is no inflation. So, it is a big problem, but they can keep this going forever. I don’t think it’s a problem because countries can keep printing money as long as they want.”

The other huge concern is a big cycle Nenner has been seeing and is the so-called “war cycle.” Nenner says, “The next four or five years in this war cycle is very dangerous.” But on gold and silver, Nenner is bullish, but “not until after this summer.”

US Stock Market Hits 2-Year Low, Global Crash May Be Imminent: ‘There Isn’t Even A Plan A!’

stockmarketcrash

Experts have warned that an economic crash may be imminent after US stocks dropped to a two-year low on Friday.  But this time, the crash would be massive and go global.

Experts such as Peter Schiff have been warning that the US stock market is nothing but a gigantic bubble that’s set to burst at any time. While the tax cuts may have delayed the inevitable, a global financial crisis could be about to unfold. The US stock market hit two-year lows Friday, prompting warnings of an economic crash from several prominent analysts. There are concerns the stock market’s performance could indicate the US is set for its first recession since 2008 and a knock-on effect could cause an economic downturn across the globe.

US stock indexes ended last week with their worst performance since June 2016 after the Dow Jones industrial average futures dropped more than 200 points, the S&P 500 dropped by nine points, and Nasdaq 100 futures saw 37.75 points fall. Jason Draho, head of tactical asset allocation for the Americas at UBS, described the “growing pains” in the market to be at fault for the low performance. “Markets are likely to remain choppy as they adapt to this new growth and interest rate environment,” Draho said.

But the stock markets wobbly performance at the end of last week is not the only sign to analysts that there is trouble ahead. In a separate warning, economist Allison Schrager explained that the global economy could be about to suffer a setback. Americans’ lack of money in savings could indicate massive overconfidence in the market. “The economy may be booming now but there are plenty of reasons to be skeptical it will last,” said Schrager. “Productivity numbers don’t justify the headline growth figures. Many people think the stock market is overvalued and due for a correction. It has been eight and a half years since the last recession and the natural oscillation of the business cycle suggest we may be due for another one soon.”

Speaking in January, Joachim Fels from Pimco also sounded the alarm. “The fact that the fear is gone is the main reason why we should be worried,” he said. “That means most investors are now pretty fully invested and that means they will want to get out if the markets start to correct – exacerbating the downdraft.”

And the deep state elite globalists responsible for the economic crash are holding no more aces up their sleeves to manipulate the markets. Speaking in Davos, the Professor of Public Policy and Professor of Economics at Harvard University Kenneth Rogoff, said: “If we have another financial crisis, there isn’t even a plan A.”

Study Finds That 22 Percent Of Bitcoin Investors Are Using Debt To Fund Their Investments

This report was originally published by Michael Snyder at The Economic Collapse

bitcoin-price2

Investing in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ripple, Ethereum and Litecoin is extremely risky, and experts all over the country are warning that people should only invest what they are willing to lose. Unfortunately, many are getting swept up in the current euphoria surrounding cryptocurrencies and are not listening to that very sound advice. A disturbing new survey that was just released found that 22 percent of all Bitcoin investors are either directly or indirectly investing in Bitcoin with borrowed money…

According to LendEDU, a personal loan research firm, more than 18 percent of Bitcoin investors have used borrowed money to trade the cryptocurrency. In a global survey of 672 active Bitcoin investors, researchers asked traders the method they used to fund their cryptocurrency trading accounts. The majority of investors used banking systems such as credit cards and ACH transfers to fund their accounts.

But 22 percent of traders revealed that they have not paid off their credit and debit cards after purchasing Bitcoin, effectively investing in the cryptocurrency with borrowed money.

Credit card debt is one of the most toxic forms of debt that you could ever carry, and investing in anything when you still have credit card balances is extremely unwise.

Yes, cryptocurrencies went on an epic run in 2017, but there is absolutely no guarantee that they will continue to rise in 2018.

In fact, there is a very real possibility that we could see a cryptocurrency crash, and there are many investors that are actually eagerly anticipating one

Well, as many traders expected, it appears that institutions are using the futures product to slowly but surely build a short position in bitcoin. According to the CFTC Commitment of Traders report (available CBOE futures), non-commercial traders held a net short position of around $30mn as of Tuesday Dec 26, or around half of the total open interest.

Separately, the Traders in Financial Futures breakdown provided by the CFTC show that the leveraged funds category that consists largely of hedge funds and various money managers had a short of around $14mn, or around a quarter of the total open interest.

In other words, spec investors have used the futures contracts to establish Bitcoin shorts.

On the other hand, there is also the possibility that cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin could continue to defy gravity and soar even higher over the next 12 months.

In fact, a rumor that Amazon.com will soon start accepting Bitcoin has lots of people buzzing

As a backdrop to all of this, there is a strong rumor that Amazon is about to accept Bitcoin as a method of payment. Patrick Byrne, the CEO of Overstock, has stated that Amazon will soon have no choice but to start accepting it. He is quoted as saying, “… they have to follow suit. I’ll be stunned if they don’t because they can’t just cede that part of the market to us if we are the only main large retail site taking Bitcoin.” Scott Mullins, an Amazon executive has confirmed that Amazon is, “working with financial institutions and crypto-experts to spur innovation, and facilitate frictionless experimentation.”

If the Amazon rumor turns out to be true – Bitcoin will probably go into orbit! Be prepared…

If someone knew exactly what would happen throughout 2018, that individual could make an absolutely obscene amount of money.

Unfortunately I don’t know where cryptocurrencies are heading, but it does appear that things are about to get a whole lot more interesting. According to Reuters, it looks like you will soon be able to invest in Bitcoin using leveraged ETFs…

The new idea is to build “leveraged” and “inverse” funds that would rise – or fall – twice as fast as the price of bitcoin on a given day.

Direxion Asset Management LLC plans to list such products on Intercontinental Exchange Inc’s NYSE Arca exchange if U.S. securities regulators give the nod, according to a filing by the exchange this week.

In the filing, the exchange said the listing “will enhance competition among market participants, to the benefit of investors and the marketplace.”

So if Bitcoin rises or falls a thousand dollars in a single day, those financial instruments will be designed to move by about twice as much.

That should be fun.

Meanwhile, some are asking what will happen to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ripple, Ethereum and Litecoin if the long-awaited collapse of global financial markets finally happens this year.

Well, some believe that it would be doom for cryptocurrencies, but others believe that cryptocurrencies would be like gold and would actually do extremely well during the next great financial crisis…

The question is what will happen to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies once the financial collapse takes place. The signs are that when economic circumstances start to deteriorate the price of Bitcoin rises. A prime example of this is during the Cyprus and Greece bailout which saw the price of BTC rise considerably during this period. With banks stopping access to cash in ATM machines, Bitcoin was the perfect solution to be able to store it safely out of the banks and Governments’ hands.

What also happens during a depression is interest rates skyrocket and start to see hyperinflation. This will mean it is extremely hard to get finance from banks and the cost can make it unsustainable. The ICO market is a perfect solution to this problem and as the banking sector suffers, ICOs will boom. More companies will look to these as a cheap way to raise money and will create their own cryptocurrency.

It will be fascinating to see how all of this plays out.

There are some financial experts that believe that Bitcoin is going to zero, and there are others that are absolutely convinced that it is going to a million dollars.

As with so many things in life, timing is everything. If you are investing in Bitcoin, let us just hope that you got in at the right time and that you will also get out at the right time.

Financial Expert: ‘Phony Wealth Created Since The Last Crisis Is Going To Evaporate’

financial-crash-economy2

Former Reagan White House Budget Director David Stockman is warning that the wealth created since the 2008 financial crisis is “phony.”  He also wants everyone to know that they only safe asset right now, is gold or silver.

David Stockman sat down with USA Watchdog‘s Greg Hunter, and plainly laid out the terrifying state of affairs our financial system is currently in. Stockman contends that record high stock and bond prices are flashing danger signs and that everyone should be aware of that.  He’s also not trusting of Bitcoin and sees it’s collapse as inevitable.

There’s a lot to talk about in “the midst of all this craziness that’s happening both in Washington and on Wall Street,” said Stockman.

David Stockman

David Stockman

“I don’t think we are going to have a liquidity crisis.  I think it’s going to be a value reset.  I think there is going to be a jarring downward price adjustment both in the stock market and in the bond market.  This phantom or phony wealth that has been created since the last crisis is going to basically evaporate.”

Stockman’s appraisal of the tax cuts mirrors rational Americans’ thoughts.

I think it’s going to be a fiscal calamity of Biblical proportions.  I want to be clear.  I am always for tax cuts and shrinking the size of government, but you have to earn it.  You have to cut spending and entitlements and this massive defense budget.  Obviously, they didn’t do that.  If you look at honest accounting . . .  this bill will add $2.5 trillion to the public debt which, and this is a key point, is already going to rise by $10 trillion over the next decade based on the current law and taxes that is still in.”

Stockman also places the blame of the “phantom wealth” on the government’s money printing scheme.

“More importantly, the central banks realize they cannot keep printing money at these crazy rates, and by that I mean the bond buying. Now, they are going to begin to normalize and shrink their balance sheet. . . . By the fall (of 2018), they (the Federal Reserve) will be shrinking their balance sheet by $600 billion a year.  What that means in plain simple English is that they (the Fed) are dumping $600 billion a year of existing bonds into the market just as Uncle Sam will be attempting to borrow $1.25 trillion more.  Now, if you don’t think that is a financial collision waiting to happen, then I am not sure what would be.  We are heading for a thundering collision in the bond market that will drive yields upward far more than the market is expecting.  The stock market operates on the illusion of permanently low interest rates.  When interest rates start to rise, everything is going to come apart because cheap debt has been priced in forever, and we are heading for far more expensive debt. . . . Bond prices are going to collapse when yields begin to rise. . . . Stock prices are going to collapse big-time when the underlying predicate of cheap debt, massive stock buy backs and M&A deals and everything else supporting the market today finally reverses.  So, we are going to have deflation in the canyons of Wall Street, and that will not be a happy day.”

But there’s one safe asset.  And Stockman explains:

I think the time to buy (gold and silver) is ideal.  Gold is the ultimate and only real money.  Gold is the only safe asset when push comes to shove.  They tell you to buy the government bond, that’s a safe asset.  It’s not a safe asset at its current price.  I am not saying the federal government is going to default in the next two or three years.  I am saying the yield on a 10-year bond of 2.4% is way below of where it’s going to end up.  So, the only safe asset left is gold.  This crazy Bitcoin mania has drained off what would otherwise be a demand for gold. . . . When Bitcoin collapses, spectacularly, which it will because it’s sheer mania in the markets right now.  When it collapses, I think a lot of that demand will come back into gold, as well as people fleeing the standard stock and bond markets for the first time in 9 or 10 years.”

So, in other words, the time to buy gold is now, before Bitcoin’s collapse leaves people scrambling.

Phil Sloan: The Financial Crisis Will Be ‘A Shock To This Country. It Will Be Chaos’

philsloan

Phil Sloan has been in the Investment business since 1962 and he’s sounding the alarm for those willing to listen.  He is saying “prepare yourself; your way of life in the United States is about to change.”

Sloan was the Managing Director of Fox Asset Management, a subsidiary of Easton Vance at Fox. He was also on the Investment Committee, the Strategy Committee, and the Management Committee. Sloan was also the Vice President of PaineWebber (now UBS) Investment Consulting services and worked with financial advisors nationwide, setting Investment Policy, Asset Allocation, hiring outside managers, and monitoring results. As if that wasn’t enough, Sloan was also the Vice President consulting services for Merrill Lynch.  It’s safe to say he may know a thing or two about the financial crises (both past and future) in the United States.

Sloan was recently interviewed by the X22 Spotlight, and he is asking people to prepare themselves now for what’s coming.

Sloan says the economy is moving at a snail’s pace, but that isn’t all. He expects that at some point we (the US economy) will run out of gas. He says that pension problems are headed our way. “Pensions have problems because they were never funded properly and the idea that somebody could retire and get paid their full compensation for 20 or 30 years is a ludicrous concept. So, therefore, now that you have an aging population and they have all these crazy schemes built in that ‘we’re gonna pay you for the next 20…25 years at your full salary..there’s just no pension in the world that can do that. ”  Pension issues are becoming a problem.  Many states are struggling with these unfunded liabilities.

“The pensioners are going to wake up one day and get an email or a phone call or whatever, saying ‘by the way, you were supposed to get 100 bucks, but unfortunately, we don’t have enough money, so you’re going to get 50 bucks’…60 bucks…40 bucks…or whatever their number is. I can’t tell you what that number is, but it’s not going to be 100.”  Sloan goes on to say that the United States is $20 trillion in debt, so governors that seek to pad pensions with money from the treasury are going to be massively disappointed.  Sloan also says that if anyone ever approves funding pensions this way, the US will become Zimbabwe.  “There is no way to pay these Ponzi schemes,” Sloan said.

When Sloan was asked about his take on the elites keeping gold down, he said:

“…it’s some central bank trying to disrupt the marketplace. If you look around the world, the Chinese central banks are getting gold reserves. The Russian central bank; getting gold resesrves. So, they want to have a currency system, a payment system, whatever you wanna call it, that’s based on real money. Gold has been around for thousands of years and has always had value.”

Sloan was also asked what happens in the United States when the dollar system finally breaks apart, which it will do inevitably. Sloan said:

“Inflation will come back rampantly in this country, and we will be, you know, having this real problem of potentially hyperinflation to deal with.  Because if the dollar goes down by 25%, and you are, you know, China or Europe or whomever, selling goods to the United States, you’re no longer gonna say ‘well, I’m gonna accept the dollar, you want a dollar and a quarter, a dollar and a half, a dollar and three quarters, etc. So, I think, if inflation comes back, it will affect everybody in a very negative way. AND, we will no longer be able to live beyond our meansWhich is going to be a shock to this country….it will be chaos.” -Phil Sloan

This Is The Real Threat To Us All: “Don’t Be Fooled By The Magic Show”

Federal Reserve Will Continue Cutting Economic Life Support

by Brandon Smith

I remember back in mid-2013 when the Federal Reserve fielded the notion of a “taper” of quantitative easing measures. More specifically, I remember the response of mainstream economic analysts as well as the alternative economic community. I argued fervently in multiple articles that the Fed would indeed follow through with the taper, and that it made perfect sense for them to do so given that the mission of the central bank is not to protect the U.S. financial system, but to sabotage it carefully and deliberately. The general consensus was that a taper of QE was impossible and that the Fed would “never dare.” Not long after, the Fed launched its taper program.

Two years later, in 2015, I argued once again that the Fed would begin raising interest rates even though multiple mainstream and alternative sources believed that this was also impossible. Without low interest rates, stock buybacks would slowly but surely die out, and the last pillar holding together equities and the general economy (besides blind faith) would be removed. The idea that the Fed would knowingly take such an action seemed to be against their “best self interest;” and yet, not long after, they initiated the beginning of the end for artificially low interest rates.

The process that the Federal Reserve has undertaken has been a long and arduous one cloaked in disinformation. It is a process of dismantlement. Through unprecedented stimulus measures, the central bank has conjured perhaps the largest stock and bond bubbles in history, not to mention a bubble to end all bubbles in the U.S. dollar.

Stocks in particular are irrelevant in the grand scheme of our economy, but this does not stop the populace from using them as a reference point for the health of our system. This creates an environment rife with delusion, just as the open flood of cheap credit created considerable delusion before the crash of 2008.

Today, we find our economic fundamentals in complete disarray, but the overwhelming fantasy within stocks still remains. Why? Because yet again, for some reason, no one is ready to accept the reality that the Fed is pulling the plug on America’s fiscal life support. Nary a handful of economists in the world think that the Fed will raise interest rates one more time this year if ever again, and the threat of a balance sheet reduction is the furthest thing from everyone’s mind. Daytrading investors are utterly convinced they have the Fed by the short hairs. I say, the situation is actually in reverse.

The minutes from the Fed’s July Open Market Committee Meeting indicate that while the central bank has been the savior of stock investors for several years, the party is about to end. Comments on the risks a bull market might pose to “financial stability” have been more frequent the past couple of months

Only a few weeks ago, former Fed chairman Alan Greenspan commented that bond markets could collapse and bring stocks down with them do to overvaluations and increasing interest rates.

Recent spikes in markets despite a steady stream of natural disasters, threats of war with North Korea, as well is “increased inflation” (according to Fed models) due to the damage wrought by Hurricane Harvey suggest that the Fed will indeed continue hiking rates into our ongoing financial collapse.

The next FOMC meeting will conclude on the 20th of this month, and the question is, will the Fed surprise with a rate hike and/or balance sheet reduction program? I believe the odds are much higher than many people seem to think.

First, let’s be clear, historically the Fed’s predictable behavior has been to skip major policy actions in September and then startle markets with renewed and aggressive actions in December. People placing bets on a Fed rate hike in September would look at this pattern and say “no way.” However, the narrative I see building in Fed rhetoric and in the mainstream media is that stock markets have become “unruly children” and that the Fed must become a “stern parent,” reigning them in before they are crushed under the weight of their own naive enthusiasm.

In my view, the Fed will continue to do what it says it is going to do — raise interest rates and reduce and remove stimulus, and that the mainstream narrative will soon be adjusted to suggest that this is “necessary;” that stock markets need a bit of tough love.

If the Fed means to follow through with its stated plans for “financial stability” in markets, then the only measure that would be effective in shell-shocking stocks back to reality would be a surprise hike, a surprise announcement of balance sheet reduction or both at the same time.

If the Fed intends to continue cutting off life support to equities and bonds in preparation for a controlled demolition of the U.S. economy, then there is a high probability at the very least of a balance sheet reduction announcement this week with strong language indicating another rate hike in December. I also would not completely rule out a surprise rate hike even though September is usually a no-action month for central banks.

This would fit the trend of central banks around the globe strategically distancing themselves from artificial support for the financial structure. Last week, the Bank of England surprised investors with an open indication that they may begin raising interest rates “in the coming months.” The Bank Of Canada surprised some economists with yet another rate hike this month and mentions of “more to come.” The European Central Bank has paved the way for a tapering of stimulus measures according to comments made during its latest meeting early this month. And, the Bank of Japan initiated taper measures in July.

Even Forbes is admitting that there appears to be a “coordinated tightening of monetary policy” coming far sooner than the mainstream expects. If you understand how the Bank for International Settlements controls policy initiatives of national central bank members, then you should not be surprised that central banks all over the world are pursuing the same actions and the same rhetoric. The only difference between any of them is the pace they have chosen in taking the punch away from the party.

The point is, when it comes to the fiat peddlers, there are indeed a few sure things, but continued stimulus is not one of them. One thing that is certain is that they will act in concert as they are clearly doing now in terms of policy tightening. Another thing that is certain is that if they plant a notion in the mainstream media — such as the notion that they are “worried about overvaluations in stocks” and that interest rates must rise, then they will follow through as they always have. Perhaps not at the pace the mainstream expects, or the pace I expect, but certainly somewhere in-between.

Finally, it behooves me to mention again that the Fed has done all of this before. In the lead up to the stock market crash of 1929, the central bank bloated stocks with easy credit measures and low interest rates, only to hike rates in the name of “quelling inflation.” This hacked the legs out from under markets with a machete, and the rest is history. The hidden purpose behind this tactic is extraordinary centralization on a global scale. The Fed is not interested in the health of the U.S. economy, it is interested in total globalization of all economies under one totalitarian umbrella. To make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs.

Of course, the Fed will not engineer a market crash in a vacuum. It is my suspicion that the next Fed meeting will be followed by a geopolitical distraction — the most likely candidate being increasing conflict with North Korea. Do not be fooled by the magic show. The real threat to us all is the central banking and international banking apparatus, including the BIS and the IMF. From now until the end of this year, remain vigilant.

It’s Your Money But You Can’t Have It: EU Proposes Freezing Bank Accounts to Bailout Megabanks

accounts

After nervous customers panicked and drained their accounts, ultimately causing the collapse of Spanish bank, Banco Popular, equally jittery European Union officials are debating the merits of freezing access — preventing anyone from withdrawing any money — at the first sign of a bank run.

Proponents claim measures to halt a rush of withdrawals would prevent the downfall of floundering financial institutions at their most vulnerable point — in hopes of staving off a catastrophe at least as harrowing as that of 2008 — while detractors admonish the move might have precisely the opposite effect, with investors rushing to yank funds at the slightest indication of trouble.

“The desire is to prevent a bank run, so that when a bank is in a critical situation it is not pushed over the edge,” ‘a person familiar with German government’s thinking’ told Reuters.

“Giving supervisors the power to temporarily block bank accounts at ailing lenders is ‘a feasible option,’ a paper prepared by the Estonian presidency of the EU said, acknowledging that member states were divided on the issue,” Reuters reports.

“EU countries which already allow a moratorium on bank payouts in insolvency procedures at national level, like Germany, support the measure, officials said.”

Advertisment

A cursory autopsy of last month’s Banco Popular failure had economic officials scrambling to figure out how best to prevent a similar financial debacle; but the idea of cutting customers’ access to their own funds when conditions warrant, blasts apart a Pandora’s Box of potentialities — all, favoring the State and banking industry over individual customers.

While officials contend cutting off account access would theoretically prevent a bank already in distress from going under, when scores of people withdraw money at once, the proposal toes a fraught but sacrosanct line blocking government overreach from private, individual finance.

According to the Estonian paper perused by Reuters, an additional measure proposed the development of a mechanism whereby customers in such a situation could withdraw “at least a limited amount of funds.”

“We strongly believe that this would incentivize depositors to run from a bank at an early stage,” Charlie Bannister of the banking lobby group, Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), told Reuters, alluding to the possible whiplash effect described above.

Envoys of the European Union originally discussed these withdrawal restrictions on July 13, with further talks set for September, but lawmakers would have to concur before any variant of the plan could be put in place. Continues Reuters:

“The plan, if agreed, would contrast with legislative proposals made by the European Commission in November that aimed to strengthen supervisors’ powers to suspend withdrawals, but excluded from the moratorium insured depositors, which under EU rules are those below 100,000 euros ($117,000).

“Under the plan discussed by EU states, pay-outs could be suspended for five working days and the block could be extended to a maximum of 20 days in exceptional circumstances, the Estonian document said.

“Existing EU rules allow a two-day suspension of some payouts by failing banks, but the moratorium does not include deposits.”

In fact, only just now have insured deposits debuted as a target for the withdrawal moratorium, as authorities previously felt such a move “may have a negative impact on market confidence.”

Nevertheless, economic and banking troubles have hit several European nations in recent years, such as the Cyprus fiasco, as described by Bitcoinist,

“Back in 2013, Cyprus’ banking crisis was a hair’s breadth away from a total economic collapse. Cypriot banks were desperate for a bailout from the EU and IMF and many account holders feared that their deposits would vanish. This fear caused a classic bank run and people were rushing to banks and ATMs in order to withdraw as much money as they could.

“Inevitably, cash became scarce and the ATMs stopped working. Many saw Bitcoin as the last option to secure their funds.”

With severely curtailed faith in Western and central banking institutions, that European Union insiders would look first to penalize customers for a bank’s poor planning and management in the midst of a theoretical future crisis typifies the impetus for throngs of people riding the tumultuous cryptocurrency wave as far away from Big Banks as possible.

Considering officials now hope to revoke access to bank accounts at perhaps the time customers would most need it, the marriage of State and finance obviates how insignificant the needs of the so-called little guy when the government sees only green.

“Sufficiently Terrified”: One Of These Flashpoints Will Erupt Into the Biggest Event of Our Time

Editor’s Comment: Something big is approaching. The system needs it. The people can smell it. Control does not come automatically; it depends upon a crisis that will serve as the pretext for control. It is a transaction, and it depends upon a harvest of fear and submission on the part of the general population. Will Americans once again give them what they want?

There are so many intense and scary events happening, and being reported on the news. It seems the entire system is doomed to collapse; it seems that things are always hanging by a thread – and those reasons, both real and manufactured, are being considered. One of these events could define this generation. Stay prepared, and watch out for the downfall of society…

Watch These Geopolitical Flashpoints Carefully

by Brandon Smith

Anyone who has been involved in alternative geopolitical and economic analysis for a decent length of time understands that the establishment power structure thrives according to its ability to either exploit natural crises, or to engineer fabricated crises.

This is not that hard to comprehend, but for some reason there are a lot of people out there who simply assume that global sea-change events just happen “at random,” that the elites are stupid or oblivious, and that all outcomes are a matter of random chance rather than being directed or manipulated.  I call these people “intellectual idiots,” because they believe they are applying logic to every scenario but they are sabotaged by an inherent bias which causes them to deny the potential for “conspiracy.”

To clarify, their logic folds in on itself and becomes faulty.  They believe themselves objective, but they abandon objectivity when they staunchly refuse to consider the possibility of covert influence by organized special interests. When you internally dismiss the possibility of a thing, no amount of evidence will ever convince you of its reality.  This is how the “smartest” people in the room can end up being the dumbest people in the room.

In the survivalist community there is a philosophy – there is no such thing as a crisis for those who are prepared. This is true for prepared individuals as much as it is true for prepared communities and prepared nations. The only way a society can fall is when it becomes willfully ignorant of potential outcomes and refuses to organize against them.

By extension, it would make sense that by being prepared for a particular crisis or outcome an individual or group could not only survive, but also profit. It is not crazy or outlandish to entertain the idea that there are groups in power (perhaps for many generations) that aggressively seek to predict or even force particular outcomes in geopolitics for their own profit. And, by profit, I do not necessarily mean material wealth. In many cases, the power of influence and psychological sway over the masses might be considered a far greater prize than money or property.

You can buy slaves or purchase the means to make demands of people at gunpoint, but you cannot put a price on fealty or adoration. This is what establishment elites ultimately want – voluntary servitude from the populace. They want us to beg for their leadership rather than begrudgingly accept it under threat.

To this end, a Hegelian model of problem – reaction – solution is required. You cannot influence people to volunteer for servitude and submission unless they are sufficiently terrified of the alternative.

The globalists tend to use what I call a “scattershot effect” when it comes to creating or managing chaos. They set the stage for multiple flashpoints around the world and wait to see which of them works and which of them fails. If you have enough of these flashpoints in place, statistically there is a high probability that at least some of them will succeed. We saw this in obvious form a few years ago when covert intelligence agencies instigated the “Arab Spring” insurgencies in Libya and Egypt among other nations, along with the funding and training of terrorist groups in Libya and Jordan that went on to become ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and at nearly the same time we had elitist lapdogs like John McCain in both Syria and Ukraine helping to foment unrest and civil war.

All of these engineered events created a wave of global instability that exists to this day. Not only this, but one successfully executed flashpoint has the ability to give birth to dozens of new flashpoints. They tend to spread, like a cancer.

That said, some flashpoints are more dangerous than others.  Here are just a few of the events I consider the most volatile right now.

U.S. Debt Ceiling Battle Ahead?

I realize we have seen this many times in the past eight years under the Obama administration; extreme media hype over possible conflict between Republicans and Democrats in extending the ongoing debt ceiling problem for another couple of months or another couple of years. In every instance, Republicans feigned attempts to reduce government spending and then rolled over to extend. The entire fight was purely theatrical and likely meant to distract the public.

However, in this instance, certain elements are very different.

With the deadline of March 15th crossed, the clock is ticking on remaining funds and “extraordinary measures” designed to stretch the federal budget until a vote on a debt ceiling extension can take place. Funds are predicted to last perhaps until this fall. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, a Goldman Sachs alumni, has of course asked congress for a quick vote to raise the ceiling.  This is rather counter to Donald Trump’s original position that constant national debt increases are “embarrassing” to Republicans.

Given, it is not Trump’s fault that he inherits the most massively inflated liability bubble in U.S. history after Barack Obama nearly doubled the national debt during his tenure (an incredible feat, to be sure). But, this does not change the reality that the U.S. is far beyond its means to balance the budget or maintain the current level of spending. And, I would remind everyone that the official debt does not even including the trillions in ongoing costs associated with entitlement programs or social security.

With U.S. debt at a breaking point, it would seem prudent to institute considerable spending cuts. Of course, where those cuts are applied may become the excuse needed to drive the debt ceiling debate into crisis this time around.

I am not at all surprised that Democratic senate minority leader Chuck Schumer has recently vowed to throw the debt ceiling talks into disarray if Trump continues to pursue a rollback of Obamacare, the building of the southern border wall, or the defunding of Planned Parenthood. Schumer has specifically warned of a government shutdown designed to prevent the Trump administration from instituting such policies.

So, you can see why this particular debt ceiling fiasco might be different. With Trump in office, establishment elites do have a perfect opportunity to sow fiscal chaos and scapegoat conservatives in the process. Whether they will follow through or not remains to be seen…

North Korean Wildcard Returns?

They’re baaaaaaaack! Yes, North Korea pops up out of the geopolitical ether every two-three years or so to flood the mainstream media with headlines of apocalypse. Every new missile advancement or rocket test by Pyongyang conjures images of ICBMs and mushroom clouds. North Korea appears to be the globalist “ace in the hole” at times. If they ever need a war, North Korea is more than happy to oblige. If they ever need a villain to place at the forefront of a false flag terrorist attack, North Korea is a perfect candidate. And, with North Korea’s “unique” relationship with China, the diplomatic situation and potential for widespread conflict becomes even more tenuous.

Like the debt ceiling, we have seen numerous instances of heightened tensions with North Korea fizzle out, overblown by the MSM and the Pentagon, perhaps to remind the world why we should continue to be afraid. That said, again, this time feels different.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stated quite blatantly that pre-emptive strikes against North Korea are immediately on the table. Meaning, the mere hint of a threat, whether real or imagined, could be used as a rational to strike kinetically. Not economically, or diplomatically, but a full bore shooting war.

Do I think this is possible? This time, yes, more than ever before. If Trump is to be used by the establishment as a scapegoat for collapse as I predicted long before his election, then a situation must occur in which overt military force abroad and at home is solidified. War is the smokescreen by which terrorism, whether real or state sponsored, flourishes.  Martial law being the inevitable result. War can also be blamed for an economic crisis that was already many years in the making. And, war strains and destroys diplomatic ties with peripheral nations, causing more economic distress.

A conflict with North Korea does offer the globalists a perfect petri dish for directed chaos.

Oil Market Crash Returns?

There are many economic analysts out there that are still waiting for an oil market “crash,” and it is baffling to me why they have not realize that the crash in oil markets has already happened. American oil consumption has been falling off the map since 2008. Projections of oil usage made by the Energy Information Administration have been way off the past several years.  Global increases in demand are also stalling.

While the mainstream media and OPEC hyperfocus on supply and production, the real culprit behind the global oil glut is something that they do not want to address – collapsing consumption. This is why, despite OPEC oil cuts (if they are legitimate), prices have remained static and are now falling once again. Add to this the reality that certain producer nations have been lying about the level of cuts instituted, and yet another oil market reversal will take place.

The initial oil price collapse from over $100 per barrel to around $30 per barrel was an incredible crash, yet no one seems to want to call it a crash.  Today, the price of around $50 a barrel is barely enough for the industry to break even in most cases. As I have been warning since last year, the $20 jump is temporary. OPEC cuts are minimal, if they are even being implemented at all, and demand continues to falter. Slow consumption plus inadequately adjusted production equals price deflation. There is no way around this fact.

Why does oil matter?  This should be apparent to most people, but the stability of entire nations and regions relies heavily on the stability of the oil market.  In particular, the U.S. dollar’s world reserve status is tied inexorably to the fact that it is also the petro-currency. Oil market chaos will no doubt lead to a dump of the dollar itself. In fact, the last time oil fell into the $30 per barrel range, Saudi Arabia openly threatened to begin efforts to decouple from the dollar and shift into a basket of currencies as a means for international oil trade.

The mainstream media tried to bury this story as “empty posturing,” and I think many MSM economists are actually stupid enough to believe that Saudi Arabia dropping the dollar as the petro-standard is inconsequential. What they do not consider is that where Saudi Arabia goes, most other oil producers will follow.

The U.S. economy cannot survive without the dollar’s world reserve status, and by extension its petro-status. A dump of the dollar by OPEC nations would be absolutely devastating. This is why I highly suggest people take note of oil prices carefully this year, and not underestimate their importance to the wider geopolitical picture.

Resurgence Of Terrorism?

In my article ‘Globalists Want To Destroy Conservative Principles – But They Need Our Help’, I predicted increasing terrorist attacks over the course of the spring in Europe and the US.  I have also recently predicted that if there is a resurgence of terrorism in the EU, Marine Le Pen will win the French presidency.  So far there have been multiple small attacks in France, sporadic riots throughout the EU, and now the latest murders outside the UK Parliament.  Such attacks have not yet been sparked again in the U.S., but I still expect that these events will increase before summer.

Terrorism in itself does not necessarily represent a “geopolitical flashpoint” unless we are talking about something on the scale of 9/11, but it does tend to act as a building catalyst for other major government and social shifts.  The rise of what the globalists call “populism” (their favorite scapegoat now for every crisis under the sun including crises that have been gestating for nearly a decade) could be directly linked in part to the forced mass immigration programs in the EU and the U.S., as well as expanding terrorism.  Every attack will bring certain western nations ever closer to a more nationalist government.

As this process continues, the danger of globalists and central banks pulling the plug on stock market support surges.  From terrorism, to populism to economic collapse – this is the narrative that the public will be sold in the near future.  It is a narrative that could scar the world for generations to come if we do not continue to expose the REAL internationlist culprits behind our ongoing fiscal instability.

Standing Watch

Whenever any alternative analyst writes an article concerning threat assessment, we fully expect that some dimwits out there will jump to the accusation of “doom and gloom.” I’m not sure that anyone really takes them seriously, but let’s think critically for a moment, shall we?

Civilization is fragile and finite. It always has been and most likely always will be. The continuation of peace and stability, even at a micro-level such as a neighborhood or a town, requires vigilance and preparedness. Governments spend billions on think-tanks and working groups whose sole function is threat assessment. They might only be assessing threats to the power elite and not the citizenry, but they exist all the same. No one accuses these think tanks of “doom and gloom” whenever they present an analysis that is not the most optimistic.

I hardly see how it is logical to deny the common public the right to our own “think-tanks,” or to be skeptical of our current “stability.” The fact of the matter is, alternative analysts (myself included) have been proven right time and time again in our predictions and warnings, all while mainstream analysts regurgitating endless false optimism have been proven indelibly wrong. We do not promote “doom and gloom.” We present reality.

Great social and political changes never happen in a vacuum. There are always triggers and warning signs.  Sometimes these events are naturally occurring, sometimes they are created. In either case, to stay watchful and mindful is pure common sense. This does not mean we need to be in a state of constant panic. On the contrary, as I mentioned in the beginning of this article, the prepared have no need to panic.

Head-Fake: The “Fake News” Attack Will Fuel, Not Stifle Alt Media… But There’s a Catch

fakenews2

This article was written by Brandon Smith and first published at PersonalLiberty.com.

Editor’s Comment: Reverse psychology at its finest. The clumsy “fake news” meme is being used to target the alternative media… but if Brandon Smith is right, covertly, it will really build up the “victim” outsiders and allow them new media powers, and “mainstream” levels of exposures. That primacy will come at a cost though – first, the principles of the liberty/truth/patriot movement will be severely watered down and misrepresented; and second, this crowd will be blamed for catastrophic failures that elite insiders have been waiting to dump in a new wave of economic destruction.

Nearly everyone has argued, rightly, that this collapse is inevitable, but Brandon adds the additional twist that there is an intent to demonize populism, nationalism and related groups in a way that would be scarring and lasting, to give a recurring lesson of the errors of our way for many years to come. In a future regime of tight establishment call, this era could be looked back upon as a ‘Hunger Games,’ a collective memory-punishment to breed out lasting rebellion and resentment.

What do you think? Will “fake news” shut down independent reporting and dissent online, or will it blowback on corporate media as free expression on the Internet proves unstoppable?

What is the real purpose behind the ‘fake news’ attack?

by Brandon Smith

Here is the first problem with modern political discourse — too many people want to “win” arguments instead of getting to the greater truth of the matter. Discussions become brinkmanship. Opponents launch into immediate attacks instead of simply asking valid questions. They assert immediately that their position is the only valid position without verification. When confronted with rational responses and ample evidence, they dismiss everything instead of pondering what you have handed them. After this line is crossed, there is no point in continuing the debate. It will go on forever.

This is one of the great tragedies of the Saul Alinsky method of political confrontation; it has bred entire generations of people who now believe that there is no objective truth. They think everything is relative. Because of this belief, they assume that there is no wrong or right side, no wrong or right goal. Instead, there are only goals that are more right than the goals of others. Everything boils down to a “lesser of two evils” mentality, and the ends therefore justify the means. Using dishonest measures to win the fight becomes acceptable.

In the end, ideological combat actually prevents people from learning rather than helping them get to the root of the issue. We live in a world where truth is superfluous to the overall narrative. The only thing that is important is destroying your rivals.

A classic strategy of dishonest debate and disinformation is to use every method possible to avoid confronting your ideological opponents legitimate arguments and to attack him personally. If you can’t beat him on fair ground using reason and evidence, then why not undermine his character so that the public will be influenced to avoid listening to him at all.  This is sometimes called “inoculation.”

At first glance, this is what the entire “fake news” meme supported by the mainstream media seems to be about.

The MSM has proven itself utterly ineffective against the rise of the alternative media. And as I have explained in recent articles, there is a very good and obvious reason for this. The alternative media is the closest thing to a “free market” of ideas that the world has had in a very long time.  Before web media, the public was strictly limited to a handful of corporate outlets that dictated information flow with an iron fist.  If you wanted to learn anything beyond the mainstream narrative, you had to data mine at the library in an infinitely slower fashion, or try to personally seek out people who represented sources and witnesses.

Today, data mining happens at light speed. Facts and evidence are uncovered in real time. Video interviews and transcripts can be achieved as quickly as a phone call. They can be examined and witnesses can be cited without traveling across the country. The prevalence of visual media also makes it difficult for witnesses to lie about their original claims later down the road.

Beyond this, the alternative media offers something the masses have rarely ever had — choice. People can now look at all sides of an issue and all available evidence and decide for themselves what conclusions make the most sense. The mainstream media has only ever offered one side, with highly regulated information and cherry-picked evidence.

The mainstream media’s purpose has never been to convey the unfettered “news.”  Rather, their purpose has always been to manipulate public opinion, and we saw this revealed undeniably during the 2016 election as Wikileaks exposed journalist after journalist using their position of public trust as a weapon to influence the election outcome.

Instead of admitting wrongdoing after this embarrassment, the MSM has decided to double down and escalate the accusation that the alternative media is “fake news.” Meaning, the MSM wants people to believe that we are liars and amateurs, that they are the “professionals,” and that the public should ignore everything the alternative media has to say from now on.  I have to point out, though, that the narrative of mainstream news versus “fake news” seems a little thin to me. Meaning, I believe there is more going on here than the MSM simply trying to save itself.

Call me a “conspiracy theorist,” but the elitist controlled mainstream media does little to help itself through this strategy. Think about it; the MSM is already clearly dying if one looks at the ever shrinking size of their audience and the loss of younger viewers and readers. They have been deteriorating for years, while the alternative media has been exploding in influence. The promotion of the fake news meme requires these mainstream media outlets to actually list which sources they believe represent fake news.  This is what the Washington Post did with their promotion of liberal professor Melissa Zimdar’s list.

So, forgive me if I am making too much of a leap here, but it seems that this tactic will only bring more web traffic to the sites listed, because the list does not really include any specific examples of “fake news” trespasses.  People who are curious will be compelled to then visit the alternative sites to see what all the fuss is about. Perhaps many of them will find something they like, rather than something they hate. To me, the entire set-up of the fake news meme hurts the mainstream news more than it helps them.

The next major story linked to fake news has been the assertion by some in government (including the CIA) that the alternative media is actually a front for Russian propaganda. I predicted this development two years ago in my article When War Erupts Patriots Will Be Accused Of  Aiding “The Enemy.”

In that article, I argued that a war is being engineered between Eastern and Western powers (Russia and China vs. the U.S. and parts of Europe), and that this war will likely be an economic war.  I also point out that such a conflict might be used by the elites in the West to rout out the alternative media as agents of Russian propaganda.  Here’s a quote:

“Another aspect of this plan, I believe, involves the hijacking of the image of the liberty movement. The liberty movement is essentially the most dangerous unknown element on the elite’s global chessboard. In fact, because we understand that international financiers and central bankers are the real enemy, we have the ability to leave the chessboard entirely and play by our own rules. Widespread economic or military conflict provides an opportunity to neutralize liberty activists who might turn revolutionary.

Recently, I came across an article from The Atlantic titled Russia And The Menace Of Unreality. Now, some alternative analysts would read this article and immediately shrug it off as yet another attempt by the Western media machine to propagandize against Russia. Though their motivations are genuine, these analysts would be cementing the delusion that Russia is the “good guy” and the U.S. is the ever present “bad guy.” The Atlantic piece is a far more intricate manipulation than they would be giving credit for.”

“…This was not as pressing an issue two years ago, when conflict with Russia was a ridiculous notion for many people. But today, conflict with Russia, at the very least on an economic scale, is an inevitability. If you read in full the linked Atlantic article, the narrative that is being constructed is clear — the establishment hopes to rewrite the history and image of the liberty movement by painting us as dupes radicalized by Russian propaganda, rather than being the originators of our own grassroots movement with our own philosophy and methodology. Through this, they take away our ownership of our own cause.”

It would appear that everything I warned about two years ago is now happening.  That said, I would amend my original viewpoint to include a new dynamic.

The coming economic war will be based on a false paradigm — the false East/West paradigm.  Over the years I have outlined in great detail the evidence that Eastern nations are just as controlled by banking elites and globalist interests as Western nations, including evidence that Vladimir Putin is an avid supporter of the International Monetary Fund’s push for a single global currency system using the Special Drawing Rights basket as a bridge. He is also now suddenly a supporter of the UN’s climate change and carbon taxation agenda.

I consistently warned analysts within the liberty movement to be careful about cheerleading too much for Russia and Putin, not only because he is controlled opposition, but because eventually we would be caught up in a media war that would label us as enemy conspirators.  Remaining (rightly) critical of Putin was the best way to avoid being labeled as a member of the “fake news,” or a purveyor of Russian propaganda.

It was my original belief that the elitist media would use the alternative media’s love affair with Putin as a means to undermine our credibility. However, today I would say that the opposite is taking place.

Confusing? Yes. But look at it this way; with the predominantly leftist mainstream media dying in an irreversible way, no amount of whining about “fake news” is going to save them. The rise of the “populists” is at hand, and as I have warned for the past year, this is by design.  Just as conservative anti-establishment movements are rising in geopolitical influence, so to is the anti-establishment media. We are sort of a package deal.

My belief is that conservative movements and the alternative media are being allowed into a position of cultural authority. The globalists are stepping out of the way (for now) as we grow in power. They are doing this in preparation for the final stage of an economic collapse they have been gestating since at least 2008. They are doing this because their goal is to set us up as scapegoats for a global disaster that will be remembered for centuries to come. I was able to predict the success of the Brexit Referendum and Donald Trump’s election win based on this theory and I believe it will continue to prove itself.

The globalists know that at this stage the fake news meme will only help us, rather than hurt us. That is to say, the elites are throwing the leftist media to the wolves and the Russian propaganda claims will only make the MSM look more ridiculous.  The globalists see the writing on the wall — in fact, with the level of web analytics at their disposal, they can read and predict shifts in social consciousness before almost anyone else is aware of them.

Instead of trying to obstruct us or fight us directly, I believe the elites plan to co-opt us or co-opt our image. That is to say, they will let us grow in apparent influence, trigger a crisis and either use certain alternative outlets as the new mainstream, or simply paint all of us as complicit in the failures of conservative governments and nationalism.

The end game here is to destroy the underlying principles of liberty movements; to make future generations reel in horror at the very mention of conservatives and national sovereignty.  The elites are playing a very complex strategy of fourth-generation warfare. Nothing you see is exactly what it seems. The fake news label is not meant to disrupt the alternative media. In fact it will help us rise to a position in which we can be blamed for negative global influence.

Many people will say I am reading too much into the situation, or that I am giving the elites “too much credit,” or attributing too much “omnipotence” to their position. They will probably reference the recent passage of the Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act and claim that this is clearly meant to take down the alternative media.

I would ask these people to consider a question, though — who will really have control over this legislation in the near future?  If I am right, and Trump enters the White House in January with a Republican majority in Congress and the Senate, will it not be Trump that most benefits from the legal framework? How then will it serve to undermine the alternative and conservative media?

I predict, in fact, that conservatives are being given enough rope to hang themselves with. I predict that Trump will utilize this legislation to go after the mainstream media, not the alternative media, and that many conservatives will support him even though questions of constitutionality will increase. I believe the fake news meme will backfire and that the MSM will die off as a result.

I believe that this is all part of a carefully crafted narrative in which the right wing gains unprecedented political sway, only to be met with economic and social disaster. I believe that the game is far from over in the fight between globalists and sovereignty activists. I believe they cannot defeat us directly, so they now hope to defeat us indirectly, or, trick us into defeating ourselves. In reality, the game is just beginning.
