Sessions Rages, White House Leaks "Have Reached Epidemic Proportions"

While tesifying today to the House Judiciary Committee, Attorney General Jeff Sessions told the politicians that the Justice Department currently has 27 open investigations into leaks underway.

"We had about nine open investigations of classified leaks in the last three years,” Sessions said.

“We have 27 investigations open today. We intend to get to the bottom of these leaks.

I think it…has reached epidemic proportions. It cannot be allowed to continue and we will do our best effort to ensure it does not continue.”

As DailyCaller"s Alex Pfeifer notes, President Donald Trump has been enraged about the amount of national security leaks during his administration. These leaks have included transcripts of his phone calls with foreign leaders.

This admission comes just hours after Donald Trump Jr"s DM discussions with WikiLeaks were leaked to The Altlantic - having only been provided by his lawyer to congress - after which he released the entire chain...

YouTube "Economically Censors" Ron Paul, Labels Videos "Not Suitable" For All Advertisers

Former US Congressman Ron Paul has joined a growing list of independent political journalists and commentators who’re being economically punished by YouTube despite producing videos that routinely receive hundreds of thousands of views.

In a tweet published Saturday, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange tweeted a screenshot of Paul’s “Liberty Report” page showing that his videos had been labeled “not suitable” for all advertisers by YouTube"s content arbiters.

Assange claims that Paul was being punished for speaking out about President Donald Trump’s decision to increase the number of US troops in Afghanistan, after Paul published a video on the subject earlier this week.

The notion that YouTube would want to economically punish a former US Congressman for sharing his views on US foreign policy – a topic that he is unequivocally qualified to speak about – is absurd. Furthermore, the “review requested” marking on one of Paul"s videos reveals that they were initially flagged by users before YouTube"s moderators confirmed that the videos were unsuitable for a broad audience.

Other political commentators who’ve been censored by YouTube include Paul Joseph Watson and Tim Black – both ostensibly for sharing political views that differ from the mainstream neo-liberal ideology favored by the Silicon Valley elite.

Last week, Google – another Alphabet Inc. company – briefly banned Salil Mehta, an adjunct professor at Columbia and Georgetown who teaches probability and data science, from using its service, freezing his accounts without providing an explanation. He was later allowed to return to the service.

Conservative journalist Lauren Southern spoke out about YouTube’s drive to stifle politically divergent journalists and commentators during an interview with the Daily Caller.

“I think it would be insane to suggest there’s not an active effort to censor conservative and independent views,” said Southern.

“Considering most of Silicon Valley participate in the censorship of alleged ‘hate speech,’ diversity hiring and inclusivity committees. Their entire model is based around a far left outline. There’s no merit hiring, there’s no support of free speech and there certainly is not an equal representation of political views at these companies.”

Of course, Google isn’t the only Silicon Valley company that’s enamored with censorship. Facebook has promised to eradicate “fake news,” which, by its definition, includes political content that falls outside of the mainstream.

Still, economically punishing a former US Congressman and medical doctor is a new low in Silicon Valley"s campaign to stamp out dissent.

Senate Declares War On Assange

An angry Julian Assange slammed efforts to officially classify his whistleblowing organization as a "non-state hostile intelligence service", decrying it as an attempt to put the "Pompeo Doctrine" into law. In its annual "intelligence authorization", the Senate Intelligence Committee proposed to effectively declare WikiLeaks a terrorist media organization.

“It is the sense of Congress that WikiLeaks and the senior leadership of WikiLeaks resemble a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors and should be treated as such a service by the United States,” the bill states. Published on Friday, the Senate committee passed the bill late last month on a 14-1 vote, with only Democrat Ron Wyden of Oregon voting against the measure, citing “legal, constitutional and policy implications” that the WikiLeaks provision may entail.

In response, Assange tweeted a statement slamming the “absurd” decision to brand a media organizations in such a way.

“It is equivalent to suggesting that the CIA is a media organization. Publishers publish what they obtain. Intelligence agencies do not.”

Realizing the gravity of the situation of becoming a persona non grata to the US government (and CIA), Assange then siad that “it is an interesting thought experiment to consider where other media outlets lay on this spectrum. It is clear that if the "Pompeo doctrine" applies to WikiLeaks then it applies equally if not more so to other serious outlets."

Assange became one of the most visible targets of the liberal media and Democrats, following the DNC hacking (which led to Debbis Wasserman Schultz" resgination after it emerged that the DNC had rigged the primaries against Bernie Sanders), and the leak of John Podesta"s emails, which were then sent to WikiLeaks for publication. According to the subsequent narrative, Assange was nothing but a Russian agent, intent on destroying Hillary"s candidacy and making Trump president. Which is ironic because after praising Assange during his campaign, Trump has since abandoned the controversial Australian to his fate.

In April, CIA Director Mike Pompeo branded WikiLeaks a "hostile non-state intelligence agency" which should not be afforded the protections of the First Amendment under the constitution.

Assange made even more friends at Langley in March, when WikiLeaks began publishing a series of leaks titled ‘Vault 7’ which revealed the spy agency’s arsenal of hacking tools. Putin has yet to be blamed for hacking the CIA.

No Surprise Here – 'Reality Winner' Has Not Become The Next Edward Snowden

Authored by Duane Norman via Free Market Shooter blog,

Last week, 25-year-old Reality Winner (yes, somehow that is her real name) was arrested for allegedly leaking classified information on “Russian Hacking” to The Intercept:

Winner is a contractor with Pluribus International Corporation assigned to a U.S. government agency facility in Georgia. She has been employed at the facility since on or about February 13, and has held a Top Secret clearance during that time. On or about May 9, Winner printed and improperly removed classified intelligence reporting, which contained classified national defense information from an intelligence community agency, and unlawfully retained it. Approximately a few days later, Winner unlawfully transmitted by mail the intelligence reporting to an online news outlet.

In spite of her overt and obvious political leanings (against President Trump and the right, and towards Bernie Sanders and the left), characterizing the mainstream media’s reporting on the leaker’s partisan beliefs would actually be putting it nicely:

By characterizing Winner as a staunch Sanders fan, legacy media encouraged alienation between groups that had begun to collaborate against vested interests in the media and establishment. Winner’s primary political affiliation according to the social media she left for the public appears to represent primarily a visceral hatred for President Donald Trump.

Mainstream media’s accuracy also been called into question regarding their coverage of Winner’s arrest and the NSA document which prompted it. Numerous media reports had stated that the document provided “proof” of Russian hacking of the U.S. Presidential election last year. However, Wikileaks stated via twitter that such headlines were false, as the NSA report had not showed voter machine hacking. Wikileaks added that claims were only in terms of attempts to “phish voter registration outfits.” Glenn Greenwald of The Intercept also stated via twitter that the document should be read skeptically.

Some had suggested when the leak hit (both publicly and privately) that the left would attempt to put a human face on Winner, trying to paint her as the “good guy” standing up to an evil President Trump.  However, when the networks didn’t even make a concerted move to defend Winner’s leaks, you should have known right then and there that she would never be the left’s Edward Snowden:

During his report on NBC Nightly News, Justice Correspondent Pete Williams passed along her family’s claim that “she wasn’t highly political,” and Anchor Lester Holt claimed her “motive is a mystery.” But in reality, Winner was anything but silent about her political views.

In a tweet she wrote earlier this year, she smeared Trump saying: “the most dangerous entry to this country was the orange fascist we let into the white house [sic].” She had tweeted profanities targeting Trump, such as #FuckingWall, #TrumpIsACunt, and she tweeted the anti-Trump rallying cry of #notmypresident. Winner was also a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and had said on Twitter that “being white is terrorism.”

And in a response to Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, who said “We will never use our weapons against anyone, except in self-defense,” Winner proclaimed her support for Iran, writing: “There are many Americans protesting US govt aggression towards Iran. If our Tangerine in Chief declares war, we stand with you!”

It should have been obvious once Winner’s social media accounts were leaked; Winner was overtly partisan, and the “leaked material” in question didn’t even amount to anything of material value, solely consisting of one classified document that lined up oh-so-neatly with her political agenda.

This is in direct contradiction to Edward Snowden, who not only leaked a far larger number of documents, his leaks were in relation to the NSA’s overreach and abuse of American rights by conducting “blanket” surveillance against its citizens, often without the requisite warrants to do so:

While we don’t know if Winner took more than the one document, Snowden took thousands, at least seven thousand of which have been published, according to Business Insider.

Snowden was also careful to leave his job as a contractor at Booz Allen Hamilton in Hawaii and flee to China before releasing the documents, putting him out of reach of authorities. Both are charged with violating the espionage act.

Winner, meanwhile, leaked one document, that was extremely partisan in nature.  Compared to Snowden’s leaks, the one document offered almost nothing in regards to “actionable intelligence” or truly dangerous leaks.

But, what was most concerning, was how the NSA seemed to abandon all protocols when allowing Winner to access the material:

Winner was a civilian contractor and she had no ‘need to know’ to see this report. Contrary to what a lot of civilians think, ‘need to know,’ not security clearance level is the fail-safe of the entire classified information system. Just because you have the requisite security level you can’t just browse classified material without a work related reason for doing so. Everything is supposed to be on a “clearance plus need to know” basis.

Winner was able to print a copy of the report and was able to walk that report out of her workspace. As difficult as it is to believe, apparently there were no safeguards in place to control who printed what as she was not authorized access to the document and still managed to print it. There was no accountability established for the printed document.

Winner was in contact with The Intercept from her work computer. This tells you 100% of what you need to know about the counterintelligence program at her employer. It was so lackadaisical that it wasn’t even feared.

No matter what you think of Snowden, he was able to demonstrate (in a nonpartisan manner) that the US Government classifies far too much information, and is conducting blanket surveillance that is not legal by even the least stringent legal definitions.  Snowden’s motivations weren’t politics; he was motivated instead to expose bureaucratic overreach and lack of accountability.

And, while it could be argued that Snowden brought into question the procedures that the government uses to vet those who receive top secret clearance, it should be glaringly obvious that they didn’t learn their lessons, instead choosing to hand a security clearance out to someone you would expect to see at an Antifa rally:

Start with her name: “Reality Winner.” Then let’s tick off the other boxes: lesbian bodybuilder, ardent Bernie Sanders supporter, a “Black Lives Matter” enthusiast who (though white herself) argues that “Being white is terrorism.” A woman whose social media posts include referring to the President of the United States as a “piece of shit” and the “Tangerine in chief,” who additionally declares that in a war between the US and Iran, she’ll side with Iran.

And still…STILL…she was given a top secret security clearance and access to classified materials. Which raises two very troubling questions: just what in blazing Hell does someone have to do to not get a security clearance, and how many other angry, ignorant, communist-leaning, anti-American social justice warriors are currently embedded in (and sabotaging) our intelligence agencies?!

We’re guessing the number to be terrifyingly high, but can’t know for sure because trying to find out would require functional intelligence agencies. And that ship, like Satire, has sailed.

So while it is a disturbing enough problem that the US government classifies far too much information, it is an even bigger problem that someone like Reality Winner is even able to make it past the first stage of a security clearance screening.

And while it is easy enough to chalk the whole Reality Winner episode up to typical government incompetence, perhaps we should be asking a different question; was something far more sinister at play here, with the deep state working behind the scenes towards undermining the current administration?

Worried About 'WannaCry'? You Should Have Listened To Julian Assange

Authored by Adam Currie via TheDuran.com,

A widespread computer virus attack known as ‘WannaCry’ has been compromising computers with obsolete operating systems across the world. This should be the opening sentence of just about every article on this subject, but unfortunately it is not.

The virus does not attack modern computer operating systems, it is designed to attack the Windows XP operating system that is so old, it was likely used in offices in the World Trade Center prior to September 11 2001, when the buildings collapsed. Windows XP was first released on 25 August, 2001.

Furthermore, early vulnerabilities in modern Windows systems were almost instantly patched up by Microsoft as per the fact that such operating systems are constantly updated.

The obsolete XP system is simply out of the loop.

A child born on the release date of Windows XP is now on the verge of his or her 17th birthday. Feeling old yet?

The fact of the matter is that governments and businesses around the world should not only feel old, they should feel humiliated and disgraced.

With the amount of money governments tax individuals and private entities, it is beyond belief that government organisations ranging from some computers in the Russian Interior Ministry to virtually all computers in Britain’s National Health Service, should be using an operating system so obsolete that its manufacturer, Microsoft, no longer supports it and hasn’t done for some time.

Perhaps in order to save money, governments should also use prop-planes from the 1940s to conduct recon missions?

The scathing reality of this attack is that Julian Assange warned both private and public sectors to be on guard against known vulnerabilities in such systems, vulnerabilities Wikileaks helped to expose. Assange even offered to help companies to get their digital security up to date.

The fact that Assange’s plea fell on deaf ears must bring further shame to all those impacted by the ‘WannaCry’ attacks who refused to listen to Assange and get with the times.

As it is, the technology used in the hacking/malware incident was created by America’s National Security Agency (NSA).

World famous whistle-blower Edward Snowden had something to say about that,

The fact is that, if only governments and mega-corporations took precautions to ensure actual safety measures were in place, rather than engaging in bogus fear-mongering in order to conceal their own incompetence and lack of modern technology, the people that such bodies are supposed to protect would be safe rather than misled and exposed to threats.

The blame for today’s attack can and should be equally shared by the hackers themselves and by those who patently ignored the warnings of Julian Assange, who advised the wider world to get clever, get secure and get modern upon the release of Vault 7 by Wikileaks.

When there is a wolf at your door, it is unwise to blame the person pointing out the presence of the hungry wolf. Those who attack Julian Assange for pointing out the wolf of un-secured computer systems are doing just that.

In real democracies, people would be brought before tribunals to justify their supreme dereliction of duty. In the apathetic corporatist liberal west, the story will be swept under the rug.

Largest French Newspaper Explains Why It Won't Cover The Macron Leaks

Following the French election commission"s demands that media not cover the "Macron leaks", and French TV channels choosing not to mention the hack, France"s largest newspaper, Le Monde, has issued a statement explaining why it will not be reporting on any of the leaked documents (or the actual leak itself)... until after the election has confirmed "their man".

As Le Monde attempts to explain...

A few hours before the end of the official campaign, Friday May 5, thousands of internal documents attributed to the Emmanuel Macron"s campaign were published on the Internet. Le Monde was able to review part of these documents, the result of a massive hack of the personal and professional email accounts associated with the [Macron) movement.

Whatever the origins of the hack, the publication of these documents two days before the second round, during the blackout period that forbids candidates and their supporters from expressing themselves, is clearly aimed at disrupting the electoral process.

Le Monde will not publish the contents of any of these documents before the second round.

  • First because the volume of stolen documents - 15GB of files - make their analysis, cross-check, and confirmation that journalistic work requires, impossible to conduct during this time.

  • Also, and especially, because these files were published 48 hours before the vote, with the clear goal of harming the validity of the ballot, at a time when the main interested parties are legally forbidden from responding to any accusations.

If the documents contain revelations, Le Monde, of course, will publish them, after having investigated, in accordance with our journalistic and ethical rules, without being made a tool of anonymous actors" publishing schedule.

So to translate into non-narrative-spin - the largest French newspaper refuses to mention leaked documents that are now open source, and appear genuine - and have not been denied by the Macron team, because there are lots of them (so pick a few) and it will upset the election (well isn"t that the point?)... BUT they will report on whatever they find after investigating it... which obviously will occur after Macron is confirmed as France"s next President.

As we detailed earlier, the parallels to the Clinton hacking are manifold, but now the establishment has better control of the fourth estate with few in the press actually touching upon the actual contents of the documents, which some say confirm prior allegations of illicit financial dealings and offshore accounts, and instead merely attacking the messenger. Indeed, as journalist Kim Zetter noted overnight, "Telling journos to not report on hacked emails misses point that nearly all important leaks occur because someone broke law or a contract" and then followed up with the following rhetorical question, flipping the situation by 180 degrees: "If GRU, intending to assault dem., hacks Trump & publishes emails showing his direct connection to Russia, should journos report on those."

One wonders if this embarrassingly pro-establishment behavior by an apparently "free press" will smash France"s rankings in the World Press Freedom Index even further (already below Lithuiania and Slovenia and just above Belize...)

Macron Says He Is Victim Of "Massive, Coordinated" Hack After 9 Gigabytes Of Private Documents Released

As reported overnight, the anonymous source of documents alleging Emmanuel Macron"s involvement with an operating agreement for a Limited Liability Company (LLC) in the Caribbean island of Nevis returned to release several high quality images of the purported documents along with promises to release even more documents and identify account locations and the extent of the assets Macron is supposedly hiding from regulatory authorities.

Screenshot of image showing the alleged Macron signature on the operating agreement

The leaker noted that Macron"s assets were not located in the Bahamas as was been reported by some media outlets, but in the Cayman Islands, another known hotspot for tax evasion. They further stated that they were taking measures to conceal their identity because they are located in the European Union and did not wish to be arrested. The leaker also explained that they were one of a small group of individuals working online with a source in the Cayman Islands to expose the leaked information. They claimed that they were in possession of SWIFTNet logs dating back for several months, and would soon not only know where Mr. Macron"s alleged accounts are located but also the "extent of the money he is hiding from [France"s] government."

Then, earlier today, this is precisely what happened when 4chan released several gigabytes of email archives and files related to Macron. It was enough to attract Wikileaks" attention.

The hacker released the thousands of alleged Macron emails and documents on an anonymous pastebin location:

Then on Friday evening, Macron"s political party said its computer systems were hacked, after "thousands of emails and electronic documents purporting to come from the campaign were posted anonymously on the internet Friday evening."  According to the WSJ , the files had been obtained several weeks ago from the personal and work email accounts of party officials, according to a statement from Mr. Macron’s party, En Marche!, or On the Move. The file dump comes less than two days before the final round of France’s presidential race, which pits Mr. Macron against far-right nationalist Marine Le Pen.

"The En Marche! Movement has been the victim of a massive and co-ordinated hack this evening which has given rise to the diffusion on social media of various internal information," the statement said.

The party said that the cache "includes both authentic and falsified documents with the goal of sowing doubt and disinformation,” which is another way of stating that anything that is potentialy damaging will be claimed to the fake, while the innocuous documents are "authentic."

As Reuters adds, an interior ministry official declined to comment, citing French rules which forbid any commentary liable to influence an election, and which took effect at midnight French time on Friday. Comments about the email dump began to appear on Friday evening just hours before the official ban on campaigning began. The ban is due to stay in place until the last polling stations close on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Already accusations have emerged that this is a hacking similar to what occurred with Hillary Clinton, when over 30,000 emails by John Podesta were leaked, exposing the "dirty laundry" of Clinton"s campaign, a hack she has subsequently claimed cost her the presidency. Naturally, the Kremlin has already been implicated as being behind the hack.

Could tonight"s hack have a similar impact on Macron? In a tweet, Wikileaks asks "who benefits?" and notes that the "Timing of alleged dump is too late to hit vote but will surely be used to boost hostility to Russia & intelligence spending."

Perhaps Wikileaks is right, although it likely depends on what documents are disclosed inside the hack. Should it be confirmed that Macron indeed lied, as hackers have previously alleged, about an offshore account and engaging in tax evasion, his chances of winning could be deeply impacted. We will present any of the more notable documents we uncover.

WikiLeaks Reveals The "Snowden Stopper": CIA Tool To Track Whistleblowers

As the latest installment of it"s "Vault 7" series, WikiLeaks has just dropped a user manual describing a CIA project known as ‘Scribbles’ (a.k.a. the "Snowden Stopper"), a piece of software purportedly designed to allow the embedding of ‘web beacon’ tags into documents “likely to be stolen.”  The web beacon tags are apparently able to collect information about an end user of a document and relay that information back to the beacon"s creator without being detected. Per WikiLeaks" press release:

Today, April 28th 2017, WikiLeaks publishes the documentation and source code for CIA"s "Scribbles" project, a document-watermarking preprocessing system to embed "Web beacon"-style tags into documents that are likely to be copied by Insiders, Whistleblowers, Journalists or others. The released version (v1.0 RC1) is dated March, 1st 2016 and classified SECRET//ORCON/NOFORN until 2066.

Scribbles is intended for off-line preprocessing of Microsoft Office documents. For reasons of operational security the user guide demands that "[t]he Scribbles executable, parameter files, receipts and log files should not be installed on a target machine, nor left in a location where it might be collected by an adversary."

The ‘Scribbles’ User Guide explains how the tool generates a random watermark for each document, inserts that watermark into the document, saves all such processed documents in an output directory, and creates a log file which identifies the watermarks inserted into each document.

Scribbles can watermark multiple documents in one batch and is designed to watermark several groups of documents.

Dr. Martin McHugh, Information Technology Programme chair at Dublin Institute of Technology, gave the RT more details on how the "Scribbles" tool can be used for "bad as well as good."

“Methods of tracking have historically been developed for our protection but have evolved to become used to track us without our knowledge."

“Web beacons typically go unnoticed. A tiny file is loaded as part of a webpage. Once this file is accessed, it records unique information about you, such as your IP address and sends this back to the creator of the beacon.”

But, the "Scribbles" user guide notes there is just one small problem with the program...it only works with Microsoft Office products.  So, if end users use other programs such as OpenOffice of LibreOffice then the CIA"s watermarks become visible to the end user and their cover is blown.

According to the documentation, "the Scribbles document watermarking tool has been successfully tested on [...] Microsoft Office 2013 (on Windows 8.1 x64), documents from Office versions 97-2016 (Office 95 documents will not work!) [and d]ocuments that are not be locked forms, encrypted, or password-protected". But this limitation to Microsoft Office documents seems to create problems: "If the targeted end-user opens them up in a different application, such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice, the watermark images and URLs may be visible to the end-user. For this reason, always make sure that the host names and URL components are logically consistent with the original content. If you are concerned that the targeted end-user may open these documents in a non-Microsoft Office application, please take some test documents and evaluate them in the likely application before deploying them."

So if you plan to steal some government documents at some point in the near future you may want to ditch Microsoft Word.

CNN Undergoes 'Technical Difficulties' During Obamacare Victims Broadcast

Yes, CNN did it again. Whenever CNN pretends to be a news organization, rest assured, they will always tip their hand -- revealing themselves to be nothing more the s h i l l s.

For the sake of posterity, let"s revisit some of CNN"s recent forays into the unfortunate world of technical difficulties.

CNN cuts off Congressman who dared to discuss Wikileaks
Bernie Sanders cut off after calling CNN Fake News
CNN host cut off after criticizing Hillary
Congressman cut off after citing refugee crime stats

And now today.

What"s also interesting, according to CNN, it"s "illegal to possess stolen documents" -- aka the wikileaks emails. So, in the event you"re interested in reviewing its findings, please refrain from doing so and let them, the professional journalists, convey the details of its contents to you -- the unwashed manlet.

When Whistleblowers Tell The Truth They're Traitors. When Government Lies It's Politics

Via Carey Wedler via TheAntiMedia.org,

Immediately after Wikileaks released thousands of documents revealing the extent of CIA surveillance and hacking practices, the government was calling for an investigation - not into why the CIA has amassed so much power, but rather, into who exposed their invasive policies.

A federal criminal investigation is being opened into WikiLeaks’ publication of documents detailing alleged CIA hacking operations, several US officials, reportedly told CNN.

According to USA Today:

The inquiry, the official said, will seek to determine whether the disclosure represented a breach from the outside or a leak from inside the organization. A separate review will attempt to assess the damage caused by such a disclosure, the official said.”

Even Democratic representative Ted Lieu, who has been urging whistleblowers to come forward to expose wrongdoing within the Trump administration, has turned his focus away from what the documents exposed and toward determining how it could have possibly happened.

I am deeply disturbed by the allegation that the CIA lost its arsenal of hacking tools, he said while calling for an investigation. “The ramifications could be devastating. I am calling for an immediate congressional investigation. We need to know if the CIA lost control of its hacking tools, who may have those tools, and how do we now protect the privacy of Americans.”

According to Lieu’s statements, the problem isn’t necessarily that the CIA is spying on Americans and invading innocent people’s technology without consent. It’s that the CIA mishandled their spying tools, and in doing so, endangered Americans’ privacy by exposing the tools to presumably ‘bad actors.’ The problem isn’t the corrupt agency violating basic privacy rights, but that they weren’t skillful enough to keep their corruption under wraps.

So goes the familiar whistleblower narrative in the United States. Whistleblowers step forward to expose wrongdoing on the part of government — something the government claims to support — and immediately, establishment institutions and the media bend the conversation away from the wrongdoing in order to focus on the unlawful release of secrets.

Putting aside the fact that, according to popular American mythology breaking the law is a patriotic duty, the government and politicians’ reactions are both hypocritical and habitual.

When Chelsea Manning revealed damning evidence of U.S. war crimes in Iraq, including soldiers directly targeting Reuters news staff, the response was not to investigate who allowed those crimes (in fact, a later Pentagon manual went on to describe instances in which it’s permissible to kill journalists; that version was later retracted after outcry from reporters). Rather, Manning was subject to a military tribunal and issued multiple life sentences, a cruel and unusual punishment reversed only in President Obama’s last days in office amid his attempts to salvage his abysmal human rights, transparency, and whistleblower record.

When Edward Snowden revealed the extent of the NSA’s warrantless mass surveillance of American citizens and millions of others around the world, the government’s response was not to investigate why those programs existed in the first place. Rather, they thrashed and flailed around the world, ordering the plane of Bolivian President Evo Morales to be grounded in the hopes of catching the whistleblower. Congress later passed the deceptive “USA Freedom Act,” which codified continued surveillance.

Edward Snowden remains in exile, and establishment politicians repeatedly call him a traitor for exposing the crimes of his government. Some, including Trump’s CIA Director Mike Pompeo, have called for his execution. Mass surveillance continues, and the president himself is seeking to retain those powers as he condemns former President Obama for allegedly spying on him.

And so on and so forth. The same was true for John Kiriakou, Thomas Drake, William Binney, and Jeffrey Sterling. The government is exposed for wrongdoing, and rather than prove themselves to be representatives of the people by remedying those transgressions, they point fingers and divert, all the while refusing to relinquish the unjust power any given agency is exposed for having.

Many people are already aware that the government does little to actually serve them (Americans’ trust in political leaders and government, in general, is abysmally low). Rather, government agents and agencies operate to advance and concentrate their own interests and power. This is why penalties against killing government employees are more stringent than killing civilians. It is why stealing from the government is perceived as more outrageous to the State than stealing from a civilian. The government considers “crimes” committed against itself to carry the utmost offense, yet often fails to deliver justice to the people who provide their financial foundation.

As a result, the State does not even try to show remorse for its violative policies, even when they are exposed and splattered across social media for the world to see. Instead, with the help of corporate media, the debate is shifted to whether or not WikiLeaks is a criminal organization, or whether or not Edward Snowden is a traitor.

As White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said of the leaks:

“This is the kind of disclosure that undermines our country, our security. This alleged leak should concern every American for its impact on national security. … Anybody who leaks classified information will be held accountable to the maximum extent of the law.”

Meanwhile, we’re supposed to accept the government’s investigation of itself, which (surprise!) usually finds little or no wrongdoing on their own behalf and often consolidates and extends the very same power whistleblowers exposed in the first place.

Hunt For Snowden 2 Begins: Feds Launch Criminal Probe Into Wikileaks' CIA Source

A federal criminal investigation is being opened into WikiLeaks" publication of documents detailing alleged CIA hacking operations, CNN reported as both the FBI and CIA are coordinating their hunt for the mysterious whistleblower inside the CIA, who has already been dubbed Snowden 2.0.

The criminal probe will look into how the documents came into WikiLeaks" possession and whether they might have been leaked by an employee or contractor. The CIA is also trying to determine if there are other unpublished documents WikiLeaks may have. Incidentally, the answer to that is yes as the whistleblowing organization revealed earlier in the day on its twitter feed.

The documents published so far are genuine, officials confirmed to CNN, which adds that one of the biggest concerns for the federal government is if WikiLeaks publishes critical computer code on how operations are conducted, as other hackers could take that code and cause havoc overseas. Of course, if the CIA had not left its code open and accessibly by outside interlopers, making hacking simple  - as Edward Snowden explained - that would not be a concern.

Still, the attacks listed in the Wikileaks documents largely require physical access to devices. Even if code was released, a hacker would need to physically tamper with a smart television to infect it with the CIA"s purported malware.

The officials emphasized any intelligence collection using the types of operations described in the documents is legal intelligence collection against overseas targets. The officials also cautioned some of the material describes programs still under development by the intelligence community.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) immediately called for a Congressional investigation upon the documents" release.  "I am deeply disturbed by the allegation that the CIA lost its arsenal of hacking tools. The ramifications could be devastating." It appears that his wish has been granted.

Snowden: What The Wikileaks Revelations Show Is "Reckless Beyond Words"

While it has been superficially covered by much of the press - and one can make the argument that what Julian Assange has revealed is more relevant to the US population, than constant and so far unconfirmed speculation that Trump is a puppet of Putin - the fallout from the Wikileaks" "Vault 7" release this morning of thousands of documents demonstrating the extent to which the CIA uses backdoors to hack smartphones, computer operating systems, messenger applications and internet-connected televisions, will be profound.

As evidence of this, the WSJ cites an intelligence source who said that "the revelations were far more significant than the leaks of Edward Snowden."

Mr. Snowden’s leaks revealed names of programs, companies that assist the NSA in surveillance and in some cases the targets of American spying. But the recent leak purports to contain highly technical details about how surveillance is carried out. That would make them far more revealing and useful to an adversary, this person said. In one sense, Mr. Snowden provided a briefing book on U.S. surveillance, but the CIA leaks could provide the blueprints.

Speaking of Snowden, the former NSA contractor-turned-whistleblower, who now appears to have a "parallel whisteblower" deep inside the "Deep State", i.e., the source of the Wikileaks data - also had some thoughts on today"s CIA dump.

In a series of tweets, Snowden notes that "what @Wikileaks has here is genuinely a big deal", and makes the following key observations "If you"re writing about the CIA/@Wikileaks story, here"s the big deal: first public evidence USG secretly paying to keep US software unsafe" and adds that "the CIA reports show the USG developing vulnerabilities in US products, then intentionally keeping the holes open. Reckless beyond words."

He then asks rhetorically "Why is this dangerous?" and explains "Because until closed, any hacker can use the security hole the CIA left open to break into any iPhone in the world."

His conclusion, one which many of the so-called conspiratorial bent would say was well-known long ago: "Evidence mounts showing CIA & FBI knew about catastrophic weaknesses in the most-used smartphones in America, but kept them open -- to spy."

To which the increasingly prevalent response has become: "obviously."

Man In Hiding After Confessing To Illegal Fundraising For The Clintons: "Fears Untimely Death"

Submitted by Mac Slavo via SHTFPlan.com,

The pattern continues…

Those who are connected to the crimes and misdemeanors of the Clinton cartel live in hiding for fear of their lives.

Of course there was funneling of money going on. The Wikileaks and Guccifer 2.0 hacks went along way in documenting the quid pro quo nature of Clinton diplomacy.

Back in the 90s, it was selling nuclear secrets to China, and schmoozing with high powered Chinese individuals, caught up in real estate deals, fundraising schemes and the like.

So it is little surprising, though certainly alarming, that this story has surfaced of a Chinese-American businessman who is living in hiding and who felt compelled to make an ‘insurance policy’ video detailing his involvement in the Clinton admin’s “Chinagate” which involved laundered funds from high powered Chinese businessmen:

via Daily Mail:

A Chinese-American businessman at the center of a Clinton campaign finance scandal secretly filmed a tell-all video as an ‘insurance policy’ – because he feared being murdered.

[…] Johnny Chung spills details on how he illegally funneled money from Chinese officials to Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-election bid.

The Chinese-American Clinton fundraiser recorded the ‘elaborate videotaped testimony’ while in hiding in 2000.

He smuggled it to trusted friends and family with instructions to release it to the media in the event of his untimely death because he believed he was at risk of being assassinated.

Chung is believed to still be alive and living in China.

It seems that there were some implicit threats being made against him from within the system just ahead of his testimony. His FBI protection was lifted and he was tauntingly instructed to ‘call 911’ if he felt his life was in danger.

Here are the highlight excerpts of his confession video:

If one reads between the lines, and it seems clear that a threat was made against Chung to coerce him into keeping his mouth shut and saying nothing that could indict the sitting President, the First Lady or their network of operatives.

Chung described on the tape how Democrats on the House Committee on Government Reform tried to dissuade him from testifying publicly before the committee by sending his attorney a letter telling him he could plead the Fifth Amendment.

[…]

The FBI in Los Angeles began providing around-the-clock protection for him. But just a few days before Chung was scheduled to testify before a grand jury, the FBI headquarters in Washington called off the protection detail and told Chung he would have to make the trip alone.

[…]

‘I called the FBI office and offered to [speak with] the US assistant attorney again on the phone,’ said Chung. ‘And he said ‘Mr. Chung your case is over. As a normal American citizen what do you do if you feel your life is in danger? You just call 911.’

Chung’s connections to elite Chinese businessmen apparently went all the way to the top of the chain. It is evident that a foreign power influenced the iconic American president to the point of buying him out.

This is likely just the tip of the iceberg.

O'Keefe Drops "Bombshell" Undercover Footage From Within CNN

As promised two days ago on the Sean Hannity radio show, James O"Keefe and his team at Project Veritas just released covertly captured, previously unheard audio footage from within the CNN newsroom.  But unlike his usual undercover sting operations, this footage was allegedly sourced from a CNN insider who apparently grew frustrated with the perpetually biased reporting of the "fake news" media outlet.

Per O"Keefe"s website, today"s release includes 119 hours of secretly recorded raw footage from an inside source at CNN with another 100 hours of footage still to be released.  Given the volume of footage to be released, O"Keefe is asking for help to transcribe and investigate the recordings and encourages users to provide tips on interesting discoveries here.

The audio was secretly recorded in 2009 by an anonymous source inside CNN’s Atlanta headquarters who we are identifying as Miss X. The tapes contain soundbites from current and previous CNN employees Joe Sterling, Arthur Brice, and Nicky Robertson, as well as numerous others.

In order to expose media malfeasance within CNN, we need your help transcribing, investigating and connecting the dots on these 200+ hours of audio. Leave comments, upload transcriptions or contact us with your tips below.

Among other things, the audio recordings reveal CNN attempting to misrepresent polling data...

Miss X: "I read a CNN poll that was taken on June 26 and 28th, and I know that the hearing for the case, the fire fighters case was on the 29th, so the poll was done right before it, and those are still the poll results we"re reporting, so I asked someone in DC who does the poll results about why we hadn"t updated it, and said there were a few newer polls from last week and the week before and there"s CBS news polls and a Rasmussen poll, and he said we don"t use Rasmussen, and I said does CNN plan to do another poll if we"re only using that. He said we"re not going to be doing another poll, those are the results we"ll be using. So I don"t see how that"s reporting all sides because that poll said hold for release until Friday the 10th."

Arthur Brice: "Who did you talk with?"

Miss X: "Paul [CNN"s Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser]."

Arthur Brice: "Yeah, he"s your director. Yeah, he"s pretty high up in the food chain. I agree. I think it"s dishonest to use outdated information if new information shows something that is in variance with what you"re reporting. It"s just, it"s dishonest."

...and again with polling data related to Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor:

Miss X: "This wasn"t released until two weeks after. So can we say a newly released poll?"

Joe Sterling: "No, you can"t say that. You can"t say that at all. This isn"t a newly released."

Miss X: "But it says newly released on Friday."

Joe Sterling: "I know, how did we write about this? Did we write a wire about this? "I don"t think we stand to change how people think of her [Sotomayor]. Geez, I mean if someone picked this up it"s not going to change - it"s not going to change anybody"s opinion."

And, admitting what we all knew already, here is CNN"s former News Desk Editor, Joe Sterling, revealing his clear bias for Obama.

With that brief intro, here is O"Keefe"s latest work.

The full 119 hours of audio footage will eventually be available here, but for now PV"s servers seem to be having a difficult time keeping up with the overwhelming demand from supporters eager to hear first-hand accounts of CNN"s bias.

Meanwhile, noting that this is just the "beginning of the end for the MSM", O"Keefe also announced that he will pay a $10,000 award to anyone who comes forward with legally obtained audio or video footage exposing media malfeasance.

And apparently President Trump has now weighed in on O"Keefe"s latest project.

The Mystery Of Wikileaks' Cryptic "Vault 7": Do You Know What This Means?

Submitted by Melissa Dykes via The Daily Sheeple,

Starting on February 4th, each day Wikileaks began sending out a series of cryptic question Tweets teasing the world about “Vault 7”.

The questions were framed in Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How format (but not in that order). Each came with an image “clue”.

Here they are in chronological order starting with the earliest.

The first image, What, is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, also referred to as the “doomsday seed vault” in Norway.

The second image, Where, reportedly shows a cave Nazis used to store gold and other valuables in during World War II.

The third image, When, has been located here:

The fourth image, Who, shows whistleblowers Bradley Manning, Edward Snowden, and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange on newspapers under the headline “infamous spies”.

The fifth image, Why, shows a welder… and gives us yet another Air Force reference.

2017-02-13_12-08-15

The sixth and final image asks “How did #Vault7 make its way to WikiLeaks?” and shows us a retro image of a woman in a beret mailing something at a mailbox.

So… What, Where, When, Who, Why and How did WikiLeaks Acquire Vault 7?

People have a lot of theories on what this series of Tweets refers to.

First, the Tweet Wikileaks sent immediately before its first Vault 7 Tweet had to do with the FBI releasing “Vault 6” of Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Others, however, think it might have something to do with 9/11 and Building 7, considering the references to gold vaults, welding, and drones.

Maybe its about both, considering Hillary Clinton was a New York senator at the time of the 9/11 attacks.

Either way, thousands of people are waiting on pins and needles wondering if Wikileaks is going to deliver on its conspiracy theory scavenger hunt. With a build up like that, it better be something good.

We could use a little truth in this world right about now...

On Russian Hacking, The Only Narrative That Matters Is Truth

Authored by Davide Battistella,

Excuse me for wanting to point out the obvious, but sometimes the obvious gets very lost in the web of narratives spun by the master narrator inside the White House. Forgive me, but are we not losing the idea that the only narrative that really matters is that all of the information “LEAKED” was obtained through a simple fishing e-mail sent to John Podesta. See their own words here:

Somehow this has been converted into words like “HACKING” (ps it is not hacking when it involves your own ineptitude or stupidity) into "Russian actors", "digital fingerprints" or any other slew of gobbledyspeak they can come up with for wanting desperately to hide a simple fact: the truth is in the e-mails.

Notice nobody is disputing the contents of the email leaks, they just want to complain about the fact that it was stolen by Russians,  though if the passwords were freely given away it’s hard to call it hacking.

Just to be clear a hack is defined this way.

"Computer hacking refers to the practice of modifying or altering computer software and hardware to accomplish a goal that is considered to be outside of the creator"s original objective. Those individuals who engage in computer hacking activities are typically referred to as "hackers"."

That is completely different from entering an account to which a party freely gave away the password and downloading the data for say an “inbox”.  So don’t confuse hacking with the granting of access through being ill informed.

The reason all of this becomes important is simple, it’s leading the world into potentially very dangerous conflict.  This isn’t something that should be taken lightly and you have to go to the WHY?  Why is it so important to divert people from the contents of the e-mails and point them instead to the way they were obtained.  It’s for war mongering purposes.

The MSM is going right along with it too.  Have we heard nearly as much about the theft and publication of Donald Trumps tax returns as published by the New York Times?

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/02/us/politics/donald-trump-taxes.html

Who is investigating the "hostile actors" from within the IRS who might have illegally stolen, copied and provided documents to the New York Times who then did barley more that what Wikileaks did with the Podesta e-mails.

At least Wikileaks published a pristine, searchable archive, the kind you could search in your local public library. In a crowdsourcing age, it is incredible what can be uncovered in a shot amount of time.

But it is different now.  Wikileaks expects  “professional” journalists to do their jobs, pour through the information and uncover everything from the salacious, the banal and the illegal.  Why did this not happen with the wikileaks, but it was all hands on deck to pour over illegally obtained tax returns of a private citizen. Perhaps MSM credibility is at the heart of the issue? Not sure.

People consume information differently now and have many outlets to weigh before forming an opinion and that is a narrative busting option.

There remains only one defense, attack the messenger, lie and divert attention. So you can’t dismiss the contents of the wikileaks, you can only call Assange a pedophile, place him under house arrest, tell the world that Russia did the following (and I am following your logic here “intelligence” community/narrative spinners)

  1. The Russians sent a phishing e-mail to John Podesta and he responded with his password.

  2. The Russians downloaded all the information in his inbox.

  3. The Russians found a third party who new Jullian Assange and arranged for that third party to deliver the contents of that archive to wikileaks.

  4. Wikileaks released the information day after day and about 120 million and Americans followed that story closely enough that based on that leak (and maybe the DNC one as well) decided that they could not vote democrat in the election.

  5. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote but lost the electoral college by losing  key “shoe in” democratic stronghold manufacturing states where jobs have been lost, people are hurting and decided voted for change, not because of those reasons but because somehow Russia managed to release true information to the American public.

While all this was happening President Obama knew about it and told Putin to “cut it out” or you he would be in trouble after the election, after we try some recounts and after we try to intimate the electoral college, but before I leave office. Maybe I will throw in a fake story from the Washington post that Russia tried to hack the power grid on Christmas day in Vermont as well, just to get folks really fired up.

This entire transition process demonstrates a complete lack of class and childish behaviour by the outgoing administration. That is the only way to describe it.  Sore losers who demostrate abolutely no class, no respect for process or really for the American people who democratically elected Donal Trump in a fair process.

Folks don’t get bamboozled, remember, your President told you this when the narrative suited him.

Transcript from TIME

President Obama,

“One of the great things about America’s democracy is we have a vigorous, sometimes bitter political contest and when it’s done, historically, regardless of party, the person who loses the election congratulates the winner, who reaffirms our democracy and we move forward.

That’s how democracy survives because we recognize that there’s something more important than any individual campaign. And that is making sure that the integrity and trust in our institutions sustains itself.

Because democracy, by definition, works by consent, not by force. I have never seen, in my lifetime or in modern political history, any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place.

It’s unprecedented. It happens to be based on no facts; every expert, regardless of political party, regardless of ideology, conservative or liberal, who has ever examined these issues in a serious way, will tell you that instances of significant voter fraud are not to be found, that — keep in mind, elections are run by state and local officials, which means that there are places like Florida, for example, where you’ve got a Republican governor, whose Republican appointees are going to running and monitoring a whole bunch of these election sites.”

That was on October 19th of 2016.

Narrative Shift: Russian Hacking Claims Move to Third Party Actors and Away from Putin Himself Directing Operation

Former CIA shill, Phil Mudd, took to CNN yesterday in an attempt to both smear Wikileaks" Julian Assange and also help change the narrative regarding alleged, muh, Russian hacks on the U.S. Presidential elections.

Notice how the rhetoric has shifted from Putin himself directing the hacks to a third party being directed by the Russians? Also, he called Assange a pedophile, the very thing John Podesta"s emails caused many to believe in an underground child trafficking ring called "Pizzagate."

Source: Zerohedge

In keeping with the theme of providing no proof to the general public, the officials declined to describe the intelligence obtained about the involvement of a third-party in passing on leaked material to WikiLeaks, saying they did not want to reveal how the U.S. government had obtained the information. So just trust them, please.

The shift in the narrative is curious because as a reminder, officials had concluded "months earlier" that Russian intelligence agencies had directed the hacking, but had been less certain that they could prove Russia also had controlled the release of information damaging to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. It now appears that along with lack of evidence, the attention has shifted to an "intermediary" as being the responsible party .

Here"s Phil Mudd, lying his ass off, in a CNN "interview" aka propaganda skit.

As a result of this interview, Wikileaks threatened to sue CNN for defamation.

CNN apologized for permitting their analyst to defame Assange, in the most egregious of ways, and issued this statement.

Julian Assange Talks To Sean Hannity: "Big Powerful Actors Want Revenge" - Full Fox News Interview

As previewed yesterday, today at 10pm ET, WikiLeaks" Julian Assange would be interviewed by Fox News" Sean Hannity, in a wide ranging discussion touching most notably on whether or not Russia provided WikiLeaks the hacked Democratic emails - as pointed out yesterday, the answer was a "1000%" no.

For those who are unable, or unwilling to watch, Fox, here is a link to the full interview which will take place over the next hour, until 11pm ET.

Assange"s concluding remarks were uncharacteristically emotional:

"I have been detained illegally, without charge for six years, without sunlight, lots of spies everywhere. It"s tough... but that"s the mission I set myself on. I understand the kind of game that"s being played - big powerful actors will try and take revenge...it"s a different thing for my family - I have young children, under 10 years old, they didn"t sign up for that... and I think that is fundamentally unjust... my family is innocent, they didn"t sign up for that fight."

Full Interview below (starting at 49:08...)
