Two Top Republicans Cast Doubt On A Second Term For Donald Trump

trump

According to two top republican politicians, Donald Trump may not seek reelection in 2020, in spite of already raising millions for his campaign. Chris Christie and Rand Paul are casting doubt on Trump’s desire to remain president.

“If he runs again I would support him, yes, but I’m not so sure what will happen,” Chris Christe, the governor of New Jersey said on the Today show on Friday. Senator Rand Paul also cast doubts over whether President Trump would throw his hat into the presidential ring again and argued Republicans should not merely assume he is running.

“I think no one can stop primaries from happening and there could well be a primary that happens,” Paul said on MSNBC when probed about whether the US could benefit from a Republican party primary in 2020. “Before you even get to that, you need to know, is President Trump running for re-election? I think you won’t know that until you get into sort of – second, third year of his presidency,” he said. Paul said he could not see himself supporting anyone else he did suggest the chance of him supporting a candidate who would end the war in Afghanistan.

“So I see the glass as half full. Doesn’t mean I agree with him on everything,” he said. “You know, there would be people that – if we could end the Afghan war, that’s who I would support. But I don’t think that’s going to be an alternative to President Trump.”

Paul’s sentiments are similar to those expressed by Christie. “Four years is a long time, and especially for someone who has not spent a lifetime in politics, so I think those years affect him differently. So I’m sure the president will make whatever decision is best for him and his family and the country,” said Christie.

Christie and Paul both said that if Trump runs again, he’d have both of their support in a reelection campaign. Not running for a second term would be a highly unconventional move for a sitting president. Only three other presidents have deliberately moved out of the White House after just one term as president.  But Trump has invested money in his reelection campaign already.

According to the Centre for Public Integrity, Trump’s re-election campaign committee raised just over $10 million from July to the end of September. The former reality star and real estate mogul held a $35,000-a-plate fundraiser event a few blocks from the White House at his Washington hotel back in June. Trump’s historically early campaigning has seen his campaign accumulate more than $7 million in the first three months of this year via small donations and selling Trump-themed merchandise such as his trademark “Make America Great Again” hats.

Leftist Rosie O’Donnell Is ‘Seriously Worried’ That She Will Be Able To Survive Trump’s Presidency

rosietrump

Rosie O’Donnell said her “entire essence and beliefs” were shaken to the core after Donald Trump was elected president. In her first interview since his election, she also said she was in shock that he won, and she is “seriously worried” about her ability to survive his presidency.

The Trump-hater told W Magazine in an interview that Trump’s election caused her to need to go through a lot of therapy.

“I was in pure unadulterated [shock] as if I had fallen through the ice on a lake; I was underneath the water, and I couldn’t even see the surface,” O’Donnell told the mag. “It was a severe shock to my entire essence and my beliefs in the order in the world, and also the PTSD of having been an abused kid in a family.” She added, “I did a lot of therapy.”

O’Donnell also said she was in “pure panic mode” the week following the election but is now just “devastated, disappointed, disheartened, and depressed by the reality of it.” The Hollywood liberal said, “I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through” Trump’s presidency. O’Donnell has not been quiet about her disdain for Trump. During the election, she took to calling him “mentally unstable,” among other things. But Trump has added some fuel to the fire as well.

When discussing how she felt when she saw her TV say that Trump has beaten Hillary Clinton to become the 45th president of the United States, O’Donnell said:  “…I was there and it happened, and I felt completely unprepared. I remember that night before they were announcing who had won, I saw the Trump children with their children on TV, and they were on an Instagram or something. They were taking a video going, “Grandpa’s gonna be the president!” I literally felt such sorrow inside of me that these people were so deluded. What were they doing with this child to tell the baby their grandfather’s going to be president? He’s not going to be president! Are you out of your minds? Cut to… right? I was completely unprepared.”

She went on to say:

“I haven’t done any interviews since he’s been elected. Today’s the first day of doing interviews. I haven’t been on television doing interviews since he’s been elected, so when I do the press for this show that will be the first time, and it has taken me a full year to integrate the reality of him being a president in a way that I don’t come across as either so full of rage that no one can hear my words, or so sad that I can’t articulate the level of pain. It’s taken a year for me to get my equilibrium back, to come back up to the surface, to really go, “Okay, every Monday is the hope that this is the last week”—and every Friday is a devastation. There are people who tell me, “Oh it’s going to be another year, another two years,” and I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive. It’s a terrifying concept, on the brink of nuclear war with a madman in charge. And the ineptitude—the impotence of people who should be able to stop him claiming they can’t—is absolutely infuriating.”

Fmr. Rep. Kucinich says the ‘deep state’ is trying to destroy Trump and associates

(INTELLIHUB) — Fmr. congressman Dennis Kucinich told Fox News recently that the federal government has been salted by the deep state and seeks to destroy Donald Trump’s presidency.

The former congressman wouldn’t characterize a particular agency but said the C.I.A. was involved.

“We’ve got to protect the presidency,” Kucinich said. “[…] when these agencies become politicalized it is deadly for this country.”

“This goes way beyond politics,” he said. “There has to be a cleaning out from top to bottom of these agencies.”

It’s Been 30 Days — Here’s How Trump’s Been ‘Making America Great Again’

(RT) — When he was running for office, President Donald Trump promised to “make America great again.” Now that he’s been in the White House for a month, he’s taken action to execute some of those plans outlined on his campaign trail.

Build wall & make Mexico pay for it

His promise was…

I’ll build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.

On January 25, Trump signed an executive order authorizing the construction of the wall. In response, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto canceled his trip to Washington.

Where’s that wall now?

The wall’s not yet there. But it will be in two years, says Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly. To fund it, the White House has floated the idea of introducing a 20 percent tax on products imported from Mexico.

Fight terrorism & ban Muslims

What he promised was…

…a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.

What’s been done…

He tried. On January 27, Trump signed an executive order that blocked people from seven majority Muslim countries from entering the US for 90 days, and froze the US refugee program for 120 days. It triggered mass confusion, deportations, protests, and lawsuits.

The ban lasted two weeks – until the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against it. Trump is now expected to scrap it and issue a new one next week.

‘America first’ foreign policy

He vowed…

My foreign policy will always put the interests of American people and American security above all else.

What he’s done…

Trump has withdrawn from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which he called a “potential disaster,” saying he would prefer separate deals with individual countries.

On the defense front, Defense Secretary James Mattis has threatened to “moderate” America’s commitment to NATO if other members do not pull their weight – that is, spend more on defense.

‘Drain the swamp’

What he meant…

I am proposing a package of ethics reforms to make our government honest once again.

How that worked out…

In a January 29 executive order, Trump banned his administration officials from working as lobbyists after they leave office.

However, Trump himself has been accused of “flooding [his Cabinet] with oil” because of his Cabinet picks’ ties with the oil industry.

Repeal & replace Obamacare

What he promised…

We’re going to have a health care that is far less expensive and far better.

How is that coming along?

The day he was inaugurated, Trump signed an executive order “to ease the burden of Obamacare as we transition from repeal and replace,” according to White House press secretary Sean Spicer. In response, the IRS will no longer reject tax filings of those who do not have health insurance under the plan. Meanwhile, lawmakers have taken the first steps in repealing the act, but have not yet presented an alternative.

Obama Ended His Presidency With A Bang – at Least in Libya

January 20, 2017   |   Darius Shahtahmasebi

(ANTIMEDIA) Barack Obama has ended his presidential career doing what he does best: dropping bombs. This time, Obama decided to target an ISIS camp in Libya, with initial estimates suggesting over 80 militants (or 80 people, depending on the source) were killed.

Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook told reporters that the fighters training in the camp, located just outside the Libyan city of Sirte, “posed a security risk to Libya, to its neighbors, to our allies in Africa and Europe, and to the United States.”

The motives for the attack are, therefore, arguably a bit dubious given that ISIS is currently making serious headway in Syria, threatening at least 250,000 civilians inside the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor. The U.S. military has been striking the militants making advances in Syria, nor have they been striking the reinforcements piling into Syria from Iraq. These reinforcements have largely turned the tide in the assault on Deir ez-Zor in ISIS’ favor.

Further adding mystery to the attack is the fact that ISIS has almost been driven out of the Libyan city of Sirte entirely. It could be that these fighters located on the outskirts of Sirte posed a serious threat to the entire world, as advanced by the Pentagon. But it is not clear why a handful of ISIS fighters in rural Libya, who have almost been defeated, pose more of a threat than the bulk of its forces currently grappling in Syria.

CNN reported that the Department of Defense showed reporters a rare video of surveillance footage of the ISIS fighters loading weapons into pick-up trucks. A second video showing the camps being bombed was also presented to reporters.

Peter Cook also said the strike was carried out by two US Air Force B-52 bombers flying from Missouri, a 30-plus hour round trip mission. Cook also confirmed that over 100 bombs and missiles were dropped on the targets. According to the Telegraph, the B-52s were refueled five times in the air. The attack also used drones fitted with hellfire missiles.

When the U.S. sealed former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s fate in 2011, it was with an American drone controlled via satellite from Las Vegas, Nevada — and flown out of Sicily — that struck Gaddafi’s motorcade in Sirte. Clearly, the U.S. has aircraft much closer to Libya (and specifically, Sirte) that could be used to strike militants.

The strike was authorized personally by Obama. A “source” told Fox News that the real reason these bombers were used in such inefficient circumstances (considering the distance from Missouri to Libya), was to “send a strategic message” to other adversaries such as Russia and China. If this is true, the strike could possibly be in response to Russia’s decision to host a Libyan faction leader known as Khalifa Haftar, giving him a tour of Russia’s aircraft carrier, Admiral Kuznetsov. Haftar opposes the U.N.-backed government based in Tripoli, which currently does not have full control of the country.

Obama’s final actions as president sum up his presidency perfectly: drop over 100 bombs, kill close to 100 people (remember that Obama classifies any military-age male in a strike zone as a combatant, whether or not they are actually fighters), confront nuclear powers Russia and China in the Middle East, and receive barely a blink from the corporate media in response.

Michael Moore announces ‘100 days of resistance’ against Trump Presidency

(INTELLIHUB) — Filmmaker and liberal icon Michael Moore has announced his plans to attend the Women’s March on Washington to protest Donald Trump’s inauguration later this month and has called for sore loser liberals to go further — by staging protests acts of resistance through the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency.

In an appearance, this weekend on MSNBC’s The Last Word, the 62-year-old Trumpland and Fahrenheit 9/11 director made a “call to arms” to those opposed to Trump’s presidency to join the Women’s March on Washington scheduled for January 21, the day after the presidential inauguration.

“It’s important that everybody go there,” Moore told MSNBC’s Ari Melber.

“This will have an effect. We need to throw everything at this. This man is slightly unhinged, if I can say that, and he’s a malignant narcissist. He cares very much about what people think of him. He wants to be the popular guy. And he’s going to be very upset if there’s a lot of people there.”

Moore, who was one of the first liberal political pundits to predict a Trump victory, also urged protesters to “get up off the couch” and to be a part of protests during the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency.

“We are gonna be busy, busy, busy,” Moore said, adding a rallying call to “a hundred days of resistance.”

The political pundit casually chatted about hearing the hair and makeup employees at MSNBC talking about going to the Women’s March backstage before his appearance on the program.

“That’s the new Americana. That’s what’s going to happen. And people are going to be relentless about this, so I’m optimistic,” he enthused.

In the lead up to the 2016 election, Moore labored to persuade voters to vote for former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Just weeks before election day, he released a critical documentary of Trump called Michael Moore in TrumpLand. Interestingly, a portion of the film in which Moore extols Trump’s appeal to Rust Belt voters was subsequently cut from the film and posted on the Internet where it went viral among Trump supporters.

Moore previously called for protesters to “disrupt” Trump’s inauguration on January 20th and even offered to bribe GOP elector’s to do a protest vote.
