5 of the Most Violent Cities in the WORLD Are Right Here in America

When you think of the most dangerous, violent cities in the world, do you picture slums in Third World countries with vicious drug cartels or arrogant warlords? Maybe the kind of violence where enemies are decapitated and whole families are murdered seem like things that happen far away in some terrifying, exotic locale.

Some of this is true – but FIVE of the world’s most violent cities are right here on the American mainland and another is in an American territory. The list was created by researchers of anti-violence think-tank Seguridad, Justicia Y Paz (Security, Justice, and Peace), who made their rankings based on statistics of homicides per 100,000 residents.

The vast majority of the cities on the list were in Central and South America. Interestingly, the violence in Venezuela appears to have dropped in violence this year, but not because it’s suddenly become a mecca of safety. The official situation there has devolved so much that they simply can’t track all the homicides.

But back to America

We pride ourselves on our first world status and civilized societies, and yet four of our cities ended up on the list of the most dangerous and violent locales on the planet.

They are:

• #13 St. Louis


• #21 Baltimore


• #32 San Juan


• #41 New Orleans


• #42 Detroit

How did these cities make the list?

• St. Louis, Missouri: Since the Ferguson riots, the entire state of Missouri has seen a sharp increase in violence. This has culminated in the city of St. Louis, which had a 2017 murder rate of 65.83 per hundred thousand people. There are thousands of violent crimes each year in the city, which only has a population of about 320,000 people.


• Baltimore, Maryland: The city of Baltimore has an astounding murder rate of 55.48 people per hundred thousand. Last year’s murder rate was nearly as high as the year that the riots erupted over the killing of Freddie Gray by city police officers.  There’s a murder nearly every day of the year in Baltimore and the police force there is widely considered to be one of the most corrupt – if not the most corrupt – in the nation.


• San Juan, Puerto Rico:  Many will think that San Juan earned its place on the list due to the devastation wrought by two back to back hurricanes, but it was already bad for years before. DHS ties this to drug trafficking. The island territory had begun to see signs of improvement in 2015 after a massive spike in 2011 that brought murders to an all-time high. The homicide numbers didn’t immediately escalate after Hurricane Maria, but as the unrelenting darkness continued, violent crime began to increase until it reached 48.70 murders per hundred thousand residents.


• New Orleans, Louisiana: Murders in New Orleans, Louisiana fell last year but armed robberies and non-fatal shootings have risen by a whopping 30% since 2010. The city is renowned for its food, music, and festivals, making it a popular destination for tourists. Yet, the 40.10 murders per hundred thousand people rank The Big Easy as more dangerous than some of the most notorious cities in Brazil and Columbia.


• Detroit, Michigan: Detroit is the fourth American city to be featured on the list of places you’re most likely to be murdered. With a homicide rate of 39.69 per one hundred thousand people, Detroit was the 42 most dangerous city in the world according to these statistics. The city used to be an American hub of industry, but when the automotive manufacturers left, it fell into disrepair and poverty. Residents have a whopping unemployment rate of almost 11%, the population has plummeted, and since it is one of the poorest cities in the nation, perhaps the residents who remain simply can’t afford to get out.

For those who are interested in preparedness, the collapse of these cities is something to watch. Note how the increase of violence in many cases ties in with a lack of confidence in local law enforcement officers. A failing economy is another factor, as increased desperation leads to increased crime.

All you need to do is look at this list and study these cities to see how violence escalates when the rule of law collapses, when economies crash and people starve, when police officers go dirty, and when criminal gangs turn into the ruling class.

This is just further evidence to support my belief that preppers must be armed. If you are prepping to survive a long-term event, make sure that you plan to survive the escalation of violence, too.

Nationwide Civil Unrest Coming… and City Dwellers Are the LEAST Prepared to Survive

As I reveal in this podcast, below, military contractors are being told to prepare for domestic deployment inside the United States to prevent cities from being burned to the ground by raging, lunatic mobs. Yes, mass social unrest is in our near future, according to the people who run military contracting operations.

We don’t yet know exactly what event might set off such widespread civil unrest, but it’s not difficult to make some informed guesses about possible scenarios: An EMP attack from North Korea (which is suddenly very real thanks to recent ICBM testing by the Norks), an attempted left-wing revolution to overthrow America, a deep state coup attempt to remove President Trump from office, the collapse of the global debt pyramid, mass arrests of left-wing pedophiles in positions of power, and so on.

The point is that military contractors — i.e. former military personnel who are hired back on as private contractors — are well equipped to operate as domestic “special forces” to carry out specific missions on U.S. soil without violating posse comitatus. For the record, I happen to know a lot of these men, and the ones I know are 100% pro-America patriots who are upstanding citizens. They are well prepared to help defend America against those who are desperately trying to destroy it from within.

These “contractors” are courageous, highly capable men who are experts in hand-to-hand combat, land navigation, assault tactics and long-range target shooting. Every one of them is a survivalist by nature, and they are hardy, intelligent, dedicated individuals. Do not take my article as implying in any way that these are bad people. In fact, my belief is that you will beg for their protection against the out-of-control left-wing mobs and militant groups (such as Antifa) that are trying to burn this country to the ground.

As a quick example, check out this story about a Trump supporter who was viciously attacked and beaten almost to death just yesterday by left-wing Antifa terrorists in Boston.

Special missions, including rescue operations, guarding infrastructure and overwatch protection for police

These military contractors are capable of carrying out all sorts of special missions, including:

• Guarding key infrastructure against terrorists (power distribution hubs, power plants, railroads, etc.).


• Taking out terror cells (Antifa, etc.) and their leadership with precision assaults or sniper missions.


• Manning key transportation checkpoints such as those leading in and out of cities.


• Providing overwatch protection for local law enforcement who are attempting to quell crazed left-wing mobs.


• Running rescue operations to retrieve individuals who have been kidnapped or trapped by left-wing terrorists.


• Extracting people from live shooting scenarios, even while the battle is still raging.


• Sabotaging infrastructure being used by left-wing terrorists for their anti-America operations.


• Destroying supply hubs (ammunition depots, fuel depots, etc.) of domestic enemies.

Trust me when I tell you these highly-trained men are fully capable of carrying out such missions with speed, precision and remarkable adaptability. Just ONE of these “operators” is worth at least 1,000 Antifa losers in terms of battlefield assets. Comprised of former Marines, Special Forces and even Navy Seals operators, these individuals are hard as hell to kill, and determined as hell to get their missions accomplished no matter what.

U.S. cities will become war zones, yet city people are the least prepared for disruptions

The upshot of all this is that if events unfold as we are being warned, large sections of many U.S. cities will be transformed into “war zones,” complete with arson, looting, gunfire and dead bodies. This, of course, means severe disruptions in:

• Food deliveries to grocery stores


• Fuel deliveries to gas stations


• Internet connectivity (which affects food stamps)


• Transportation and commuting routes


• Emergency services, including hospitals, fire and police

Disruptions in all these services and supplies will only worsen the degree of panic and desperation among city dwellers. As I point out in the following podcast, city people tend to be the least prepared of all. This will add to the panic and cause the situation to escalate rapidly:

City egress routes will be blocked in some cases… not everyone will be allowed to LEAVE

The realization behind all this is even more shocking when you consider the fact that local law enforcement units have been told over the last year or so that when inner cities collapse into chaos and rioting, police units will NOT be sent in to deal with many situations. Instead, in some cases the strategy will simply be to “contain” the chaos and prevent it from spreading. This means manning roadblock checkpoints while allowing certain sectors of some cities to burn to the ground.

In much the same way that a viral pandemic must be contained to avoid it spreading, civil unrest will also be “firewalled” off to prevent its spread. This is the inevitable result of too few cops in most cities, where the cops are outnumbered by violent gang-bangers by at least a thousand to one. Any sufficiently large catalyzing event that causes angry left-wing mobs to spill onto the streets will immediately cause police and sheriff’s deputies to shift the focus of their activities to “containment” rather than “intervention.” (Trust me, they’ve told me this themselves.)

Why does this matter to you? Because if you’re stuck in a war zone section of the city, you may very well be on your own for some time, unable to exit the city because all the egress routes are blocked as part of the containment strategy. Certainly, special people will be allowed to leave, such as the Mayor and her family, or high-level officials of all kinds. But if you don’t have this special permission, you may find yourself literally trapped in your own city zone, unable to receive any help from calling 9/11… all while having to deal with armed, violent left-wing lunatics on your own (with no help from the outside).

My question to you is simply this: If you still live in a city, are you prepared to survive such a scenario?

South Los Angeles, East St. Louis, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Baltimore and Boston… all potential WAR zones

Due to incessant fake news propaganda and “journo-terrorism” by the left-wing media — which has become a clear and present danger to this nation — the Left in America has been transformed into a mob of deranged, violent lunatics who openly call for murder and violence to crush their political foes. Even now, the deranged Left is celebrating the utterly fake news that claims Trump ordered Flynn to “talk to the Russians,” thereby proving some sort of collusion where none exists. In reality, all presidential transition teams engage in international diplomacy by talking to the Russians, the Chinese, the Brits and everyone else. There’s no conspiracy here, it’s just that left-wingers are too stupid to understand how the executive branch of government actually operates, and the media is exploiting their stupidity to try to paint a “collusion” picture where none exists.

(Seriously, anyone who watches The View has an IQ of roughly room temperature and should probably be barred from attempting to participate in a Constitutional Republic.)

By pushing hatred, derangement and sheer lunacy, the left-wing media has whipped up the Left into a frenzy / mania that abandons logic and reason. Now, the Left is poised to unleash mass chaos across America — and some are even calling for it, such as Antifa, now widely known to be a domestic terrorism organization. The fact remains that this nation stands one trigger event away from nationwide civil war.

Similarly, any attempt by the deep state to carry out its criminal coup against President Trump would also initiate nationwide civil action in defense of America. The criminal deep state, run by Robert Mueller, James Comey, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Loretta Lynch, is right now attempting a criminal takeover of the country. To protect America, all those deep state criminals needs to be arrested and tried for treason, yet if such a round of arrests were to take place, that could also set off nationwide civil unrest.

In other words, almost no matter what happens in the near future, half the country erupts in one way or another. That’s because the Left has managed to divide America into those who love this country vs. those who hate it. The Left has become anti-capitalism, anti-America, anti-Constitution, anti-law and anti-Trump. Pursuing ever-increasing radicalization, the Left now wants a communist revolution to throw Trump out of office, install a radical left-wing totalitarian regime in Washington, and round up all conservatives for executions or “re-education” camps. (This is the long-time goal of the so-called “Weathermen Underground,” which has transformed Democrats into a modern-day hate group and terrorist organization.)

The left-wing media is part of radical left-wing terrorism, of course, as they continue to fuel the anger, hatred and violence of the Left with an ever-more-insane menu of fake news:

If you live in the city, what’s your BUGOUT plan?

What’s the upshot of all this? In my view, the No. 1 thing you need to be working on right now is getting out of the city. If you’re already living well outside these urban chaos zones, you’re better prepared than 95% of the population, even if you do nothing else at all. The most dangerous scenario in these potential events is being trapped in the city with no escape, no supplies and no means of self-defense. By simply acquiring a water supply, some basic food items, a legal handgun and one afternoon of gun training, you will put yourself into a better-prepared position than 99% of the U.S. population.

Naturally, left-wing cities tend to criminalize firearms ownership by law-abiding citizens (because that’s how stupid the radical Left has become these days). So if you’re in Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, New York City or other anti-gun cities, you have no legal means of defending yourself even when the police decide your city is so far beyond hope that they’re not going to come help you either. But guess who definitely owns guns? The gang-bangers, of course. They’re well armed because, by definition, they don’t follow anti-gun laws. Only law-abiding citizens follow the laws and turn in their guns, so gang-bangers will have free reign to rape, pillage and murder their way across the urban landscape. Ironically, for the most part they will be targeting anti-gun people who will suddenly discover they can’t call 9/11.

Bugging out of a city, by the way, is nearly impossible if you wait for things to hit the fan. You’ll be stuck in traffic with all the other last-minute people trying to bug out, too. Most likely, you’ll end up stalled on the freeway. Personally, I carry a folding bicycle in the back of my vehicle for precisely this purpose, ready to bug out of my vehicle on a bike, carrying a backpack of supplies. I know that I can easily bike 20 – 40 miles in an afternoon, but walking 20 – 40 miles takes more like a day or two. I also carry a bugout bag with compass, cordage, camp stove and all the other items you might suppose a prepper should have. I’ll cover more details on proper vehicle bugout bags in a future article.

So in addition to having a bugout route with your vehicle, you should also have a bugout plan that involves abandoning your vehicle and bugging out on bike or foot. This means you’d better have a compass, a map, some cordage, water, food, self-defense, light source and so on. And you probably don’t want to hike along the highway, or you’ll be attacked and robbed by violent mobs in no time. Your best bet in many scenarios is to get off the main roads and traverse the terrain on foot, far away from the crowds clogging the roads. Remember: Most city people have been indoctrinated with socialism or communism, and that embodies the idea that your stuff should be shared with everyone else. In other words, the fact that government already robs people of their money and redistributed it to those who didn’t earn it serves as a dangerous philosophy during any collapse. People who didn’t prepare will demand your stuff! (Question to you: How do you plan to defend your stuff? Or are you going to give all your stuff away to those leftists who refused to prepare?)

A Broke U.S. City Just Dissolved; Street Lights Turned Off; Garbage Pickup Ceases

A city government in Iowa has vanished completely because of unpaid sewer bills. For citizens, that means all government services provided by the city of Mount Union abruptly stopped.

Street lights were turned off permanently, garbage service ended and all city employees laid off in Mount Union, the Associated Press reported. It also means the city council is dissolved and there is no mayor in the town of 98 people.

“I know we can’t stop this, we tried,” former city clerk Linda Johnson said. “And the only good thing is the (city) council and all the administration will be gone, and we can start to heal our wounds. It wouldn’t be this way if it hadn’t have been for them.”

The cause of Mount Union’s demise was unpaid sewer bills. A decade ago, the city put in a $1.2 million sewer system maintained by an agency called Regional Utility Service Systems (RUSS).

The system was supposed to be paid for by a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant and a loan. The loan was supposed to be paid by sewer bills, but a number of residents in town did not pay their sewer bills.

Initially, that led to rates jumping from $35 a month to $150 a month. Citizens voted last year, by a margin of 32-31, to dissolve the town. In March of this year, a state board approved the proposal to dissolve the town.

“Dystopian Military Takeover Plan”: The Urban Nightmare That Could Become America By 2030

Conventional armies and jungle warfare are so last era. The future is all about urban warfare, that’s why secret military units and militarized SWAT teams are in constant training… to take back American cities by any force necessary.

What they’re really talking about is martial law, packaged as a well-meaning and overriding concern for the nation’s security.

Is the U.S. Military Planning to Take Over America?

John Whitehead wrote about this topic at length, pointing out the chilling fact that the military referred to urban warfare missions as an effort to “drain the swamp.” A restless underclass, roaming gangs, terrorists, loosely-connected bands of hackers and criminal syndicates, along with millions of city dwellers caught up in it.

It is the sad tale that has followed the demise of Middle East hot spots like Baghdad, Mosul, Palestine and Alepplo, in various states of quasi-war where the military will target “extremists” and eliminate them, in even in cases where a large number of non-combatants may reside and end up as collateral damage.

This story is now being transitioned to the cities of America – it may start with riots like in Ferguson. Or it may come in the form of flash martial law declarations to catch a terrorist suspect on the run – like in the Boston Marathon Bombing aftermath. Or it may be a subtle and quiet round-up of dissidents – taken up without resistance by the rest of the community, and taken in on warrants, illegal searches, set-ups and false pretexts.

A chilling time in coming to home to roost in the United States, and the future holds little else but the extreme potential for total violence in major cities, capable of catching up with you, your family or other innocents during catastrophic natural disasters or politically motivated attacks, bombings or riot-demonstrations.

The military will be increasingly prepared to maintain order in the case of economic collapse, widespread unemployment, hunger, looting and angry hordes demanding assistance in the streets.

According to “Megacities: Urban Future, the Emerging Complexity,” a Pentagon training video created by the Army for U.S. Special Operations Command, the U.S. military plans to use armed forces to solve future domestic political and social problems.

What they’re really talking about is martial law, packaged as a well-meaning and overriding concern for the nation’s security.

The chilling five-minute training video, obtained by The Intercept through a FOIA request and made available online, paints an ominous picture of the future—a future the military is preparing for—bedeviled by “criminal networks,” “substandard infrastructure,” “religious and ethnic tensions,” “impoverishment, slums,” “open landfills, over-burdened sewers,” a “growing mass of unemployed,” and an urban landscape in which the prosperous economic elite must be protected from the impoverishment of the have nots.

And then comes the kicker.

Three-and-a-half minutes into the Pentagon’s dystopian vision of “a world of Robert Kaplan-esque urban hellscapes — brutal and anarchic supercities filled with gangs of youth-gone-wild, a restive underclass, criminal syndicates, and bands of malicious hackers,” the ominous voice of the narrator speaks of a need to “drain the swamps.”

Drain the swamps.

Surely, we’ve heard that phrase before?

Ah yes.

Emblazoned on t-shirts and signs, shouted at rallies, and used as a rallying cry among Trump supporters, “drain the swamp” became one of Donald Trump’s most-used campaign slogans, along with “build the wall” and “lock her up.”

Funny how quickly the tides can shift and the tables can turn.

You know the future where Judge Dredd takes over – the one where he, and everyone like him, becomes judge, jury and executioner on the spot?

The future doesn’t look pretty for freedom.

Modern society is an incubator for these problems. The risks cannot be avoided in large urban environments, and that is where the most trouble is likely to occur.

Smaller towns and rural areas sometimes often have high crime and police corruption, but many of these areas may still offer a much better buffer from tyranny and dangerous disorder that is an accident just waiting to happen to the right megacity.

Since about 80% of global populations have moved into large cities and urban centers, it is clear that 80% or more of the problems will start or gravitate towards there.

Stay prepared, stay clear of cities when possible, and have a serious evacuation getaway plan in place.

So you’ve been convinced that there are many major threats that humanity faces… and you’ve decided to get prepared. You’ve decided to survive.

That’s great. But there are many pitfalls and potential mistakes that newbies and long-term preppers alike should be wary of.

But getting ready for unrealistic doomsday scenarios means that many preppers are focusing on the wrong problems, and will end up ill prepared.

Too many gadgets, not enough time learning to use them. Too much expensive gear, and not enough essentials, or at least not enough to last when you need it.

Be practical, be thorough, but focus on the scenarios that are most likely to hit your local area – with natural disasters being perhaps the most likely in the real world, but complex conspiracies and apocalyptic mega disasters ranking much further down the line.

You are not prepping to save the world – though you can try in your spare time. You are prepping to keep you and yours alive, safe and prepared to thrive in the aftermath.

What real world crisis are actually likely to strike in your neighborhood and affect you?

And your preps don’t necessarily have to be expensive. Just the bare basics and the right mentality could be more valuable than features and high-end gear.

Often times laying low, bugging in, and staying off the radar are more important than heroic, firepower or bold cross-country adventures.

There Will Be Those Who Perish In the Next Crisis, And Those “Who Survive In Underground Luxury”

Ultimately, no one can stop what is coming.

The haves and have nots of the next, gritty era of aftermath will be those who have the means to survive when the system has failed, and those who do not.

For the wealthy, and prepper minded elite, hidden fortified layers purchased for insurance will preserve most of the luxuries of life above ground, and in the cities, even as society crumbles and burns to the ground.

Others, without the means to purchase these luxuries, may have still set aside the necessary materials to live and thrive after a great collapse, where anything and everything from the electric grid, to the fuel supply to the food supply will fail.

There will be tens of millions of starving, angry and bewildered people who face endangerment and extinction, and there will be a few who succeed not only in planning ahead, but in laying low enough to avoid being noticed and picked off by looters, marauders and misguided authorities.

Finding the perfect location for your redoubt, and making your preps to get away if need be, amount to something of an art and a science. Nothing is guaranteed, everything has its advantages and disadvantaged, but just by doing anything at all, you’ll be way ahead of the masses.

If the plans of the elite are anything to consider, they have decked out their bunkers with mementos and reminders of normal life, and not only enough to supplies not to feel the pain of a crumbling infrastructure, but to be distracted by the illusion of normalcy even in times of ultimate crisis.

But ultimately, all successful redoubts invest in the means to provide for long-term survival and maximum self-sufficiency.

As Health Nut News reports:

Most “shelters” include enough food for a year or more, and many have hydroponic gardens to supplement. The developers also work hard to create “well-rounded communities with a range of skills necessary for long-term survival, from doctors to teachers.” (During the 2016 elections, Vivos received a flurry of interest in its shelters from both liberals and conservatives and completely sold out of spaces in its community shelters.)

Many of the interiors are left as a blank slate so that each owner can create what they are looking for in terms of comfort and luxury- and it all comes at a cost. Base models can start at $25,000 and go up to almost $5 million dollars. Their footprints also vary from quaint to 5000 square feet.

It isn’t just happening in the United States, but all over the world. And while the fastest growing part of this sector clearly caters to the rich and well adjusted, many shelters are also being constructed to house millions of masses during emergencies – at least in places like China, Switzerland and Russia.

[…] The Oppidum, billed as “the largest billionaire bunker in the world.” This top-secret facility, once a joint project between the former Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic and Slovakia), was built over 10 years beginning in 1984. The premiere apocalypse dwelling is a place that billionaires can live out the horrors of the apocalypse- be it zombie or other- in luxury with every amenity you could ever hope for.

[…] Vivos Europa One, in Rothenstein, is one of Germany’s largest repurposing projects. The 76-acre former Soviet bunker is capable of withstanding a nuclear blast, a direct plane crash or biological attack. It is being transformed into 34 five-star apartments, starting at 2,500 sq ft, which aim to protect the super-rich from any forthcoming apocalypse.

Self-sustaining communities or networks of individuals can also plan around their budgets to make these concepts a reality. Many companies will customize and scale down projects to costs as low as $25,000… while basic home fortification and DIY applications can be done for much less money.

In the end, those who prepared when nothing happened are only out what they invested on the principle of having a viable back-up insurance plan.

But those who didn’t prepare for the worst when it did happen could very quickly lose everything they have, and many will perish during the next major crisis – which could be triggered at this point by almost anything.

We all know the major scenarios.

But will you know what to do in when the real thing happens?

First and foremost, you need the basics: the ability to bug-out and survive for at least three days with food, water, fire starters, emergency shelter, etc. You also need the necessities to stay in place or in your redoubt for at least two weeks. But that’s just for starters.

There are so many factors at hand, that you have to become a second order prepper.

That means Plan B and so much more. It means thinking ahead to the many pitfalls that could end your survival bid. Take yourself down the path you would go time, and time over again. Think it through until you find the flaws in your thinking. Know before you go, and avoid situations before you even get into them.

Get rid of fantasy and unrealistic notions, and figure out a realistic strategy for long term survival, particularly in case of prolonged collapse.

IKEA Launches Sustainable DIY Indoor Garden

IKEA continually proves itself to be one of the most environmentally-friendly companies on the planet. The Swedish home furnishings retailer introduced a hydroponic garden last year that allows you to grow fresh produce in your home without any soil or gardening experience, and the company ditched Styrofoam packaging for biodegradable packaging that you can actually put in your garden to nourish your plants.

The latest sustainable endeavor by IKEA is the Growroom, a spherical, multi-tiered indoor garden that you can build at home because the design is open-source. This thing is so big, it’s actually designed to sustainably grow enough food to feed a whole neighborhood.

Space10, the IKEA lab that explores sustainable solutions for future urban living, says in the open-source plan:

“It is designed to support our everyday sense of well-being in the cities by creating a small oasis or ‘pause’ architecture in our high paced societal scenery and enables people to connect with nature as we smell and taste the abundance of herbs and plants.”

The beauty of the Growroom is that fruits and vegetables can be grown in abundance virtually anywhere, including urban dwellings. In cities where there are food desserts, the Growroom allows communities to work together to create and strengthen bonds, provide healthy food, and teach children about nature.

Space10 continues:

“Local food represents a serious alternative to the global food model. It reduces food miles, our pressure on the environment, and educates our children of where food actually comes from. The challenge is that traditional farming takes up a lot of space and space is a scarce resource in our urban environments.”

Once completed, the garden measures 2.8 by 2.5 meters (9 by 8.2 feet). Water and light easily reach the growing fruits and veggies through the interlocking pieces without leaking through to the other side, so you won’t have mess after tending to your plants. Its Creative Commons license means you can keep adding to the design.

“The pavilion, built as a sphere, can stand freely in any context and points in a direction of expanding contemporary and shared architecture.

The overlapping slices ensure that water and light can reach the vegetation on each level, without reaching the visitor within and thereby functions as a growth activator for the vegetation and shelter for the visitor.”

Yup, it’s big enough that you can sit in it.

Editor’s Comment: There are two major problems that come to mind – one, the level of homelessness, poverty and idle populations in California and across the country, and the divided world between the 1% and the struggling 99% is coming to a head. Economically, things are very close to the brink, and there are far too many people who’ve given up at the individual level. This crisis has given the impetus for cities like Santa Ana to take drastic action.

The other side of the coin, is that if they can do this to homeless vagrants, and out of work families, they can do it to anyone. If civil unrest comes, perhaps in combination with mass unemployment, a crashed stock market and monetary system and great misery, those keeping society in check will feel compelled to come down with a heavy hand. People will be rounded up, some of them unfairly. Entire communities can be disrupted, or forced under an emergency to evacuate and take shelter in FEMA centers while the cities become off limits. There are a lot of things that can happen – including to hard working, employment, head-above-water American families.

When this thing starts to unravel, making do in the current atmosphere won’t cut it; in the aftermath of what is coming, many people will be desperate. Tent cities and migrating Americans looking for temporary work will return; millions more will flock to government welfare programs, and be dragged into the dregs of collectivist measure to ride out bad times. They are moving to sweep up the disarray of a society that is crumbling, and a financial landscape that is no longer survivable for a wide sector of the general population.

City Erects Prison Camp To Deal With Homeless – Cutting Off Food And Water

The City of Santa Ana has come up with an innovative and despotic way of keeping their homeless population in check — imprison them. The city is now party to a federal lawsuit over unreasonable seizure, false imprisonment, and due process violations.

Heading up the lawsuit on behalf of Michael Diehl, who has lived at the encampment for three years, is the ACLU of Southern California. The lawsuit demands the immediate removal of the 6-foot-tall chain-link fences penning in 75-100 people and their belongings.

“Defendants’ actions have not only illegally restricted the liberty of the homeless people living in the encampment, but it has also cut them off from access to food, water, and medical care thus threatening their health and well-being,” the lawsuit states.

According to Courthouse News:

Diehl was shot in the head at a Tustin convenience store in 2009. He lost his right eye and doctors were unable to remove the bullet from his head. He takes medication every day to control seizures that have become more frequent with the increased presence of authorities at the encampment, he says in the complaint.

When a woman suffered a seizure at the encampment after the fence was erected, Diehl says, paramedics had difficulty reaching her because the barriers have blocked parts of the sidewalks at Chapman Avenue and Orangewood Avenue where people used to come and go.

If people living at the encampment cut holes in the fences with bolt cutters, Orange County Public Works employees repair it. For the elderly and disabled it is neither safe nor realistic to scale the fence or navigate the river to get to a steep, rocky embankment on the river’s west side, Diehl says.

“Children, people with severe disabilities, the elderly and others are deprived of food, water and access to restrooms,” said ACLU homelessness policy analyst Eve Garrow. “The county should take action to rectify this egregious violation of basic human rights.”

Naturally, the county is claiming that they are not doing anything wrong and that the fence, put in place after the homeless community began growing there, is for ‘flood control.’

“The county is aware that there are homeless encampments in the project area. Flood control channels are not a safe place to live. Sign postings and in-person notifications about the project have been provided to those encamped along the county maintenance road,” the county said in a statement.

However, according to Diehl and the others who are imprisoned in the camp, police told them that they should move there to avoid citations for sleeping in public in the other parts of town.

What this case in Santa Ana illustrates is the state’s continued war on the right of people to exist. Every time a group homeless community finds a safe spot, located out of the way, they are targeted for removal, or, in this barbaric case — imprisonment.

Earlier this month, the Free Thought Project reported on another war being waged against the homeless population in California. Known as ‘The Promised Land,’ a group of homeless people in Oakland sought to improve their situation by creating a camp that would foster sobriety and help people to get jobs. It was located out of the way, under a series of overpasses. They had running water, were growing their own food, and did not allow drug or alcohol use within the camp.

As cops and officials allowed the other heroin riddled encampments to continue, they targeted The Promised Land for destruction. 

Diehl now seeks an injunction ordering the county to provide him with “reasonable means of leaving the riverbed and being able to retrieve his property.”

Darkness Is Scheduled, Civil Order Will Be Upended: “Military Plans to Take Over America”

All the wars, the force, the government powers, the shadow funding, the mandate for security, for control, for safety will come around full circle.

In the end, all this force – this entire apparatus – is meant to be used against the general population.

The cumulative angst surrounding potential crises, emergencies and the swelling dissent and distrust between fellow Americans is reaching its own crescendo. As the system, already broken, is pushed to its limits, there will be consequences both expected and unexpected.

Cities are growing, and a new, raw rule of law is growing with it. The future of urban warfare makes tight control over megacities, and paramilitary enforcement over the population inevitable – the pressures of mass migration, disaster and inner-city turmoil are taking their toll.

Sooner or later, this will happen. Be forewarned.

Those who have been counting on nothing but government to cover their expenses have nowhere else to turn to than violence, looting and civil unrest.

So too, to those who have been reliant upon store shelves and the electric grid. The day will come when those dependencies will become a dangerous, toxic weakness. The beauty and ugliness of this far-reaching conspiracy theory is not just that some extreme scenario could play out, but that in the near future, in a world dominated by urban cities, nearly every disaster that strikes its area will result in extreme reactions – desperate hoards, martial law to restore order, persecution of dissidents, violence and death tolls trailing behind.

And they are ready. The forces, each of the various agencies, military units, paramilitary units, special divisions, etc. have been training – exactly for this.

As John W. Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute notes:

The U.S. military plans to take over America by 2030.

According to “Megacities: Urban Future, the Emerging Complexity,” a Pentagon training video created by the Army for U.S. Special Operations Command, the U.S. military plans to use armed forces to solve future domestic political and social problems.

“Our current and past strategies can no longer hold. We are facing environments that the masters of war never foresaw. We are facing a threat that requires us to redefine doctrine and the force in radically new and different ways. The future army will confront a highly sophisticated urban-centric threat that will require that urban operations become the core requirement for the future land-force. The threat is clear. Our direction remains to be defined. The future is urban.”— “Megacities: Urban Future, the Emerging Complexity,” a Pentagon training video created by the Army for U.S. Special Operations Command

What they’re really talking about is martial law, packaged as a well-meaning and overriding concern for the nation’s security.

The chilling five-minute training video, obtained by The Intercept through a FOIA request and made available online, paints an ominous picture of the future—a future the military is preparing for—bedeviled by “criminal networks,” “substandard infrastructure,” “religious and ethnic tensions,” “impoverishment, slums,” “open landfills, over-burdened sewers,” a “growing mass of unemployed,” and an urban landscape in which the prosperous economic elite must be protected from the impoverishment of the have nots.

And the creepiest part of this training?

Apparently, while the American electorate have been concerned about “draining the swamp” in Washington, D.C., the military have been concerned about “draining the swamp” in American cities during a major crisis.

As John Whitehead keenly observes:

And then comes the kicker.

Three-and-a-half minutes into the Pentagon’s dystopian vision of “a world of Robert Kaplan-esque urban hellscapes — brutal and anarchic supercities filled with gangs of youth-gone-wild, a restive underclass, criminal syndicates, and bands of malicious hackers,” the ominous voice of the narrator speaks of a need to “drain the swamps.”

Drain the swamps.

[…]Whereas Trump promised to drain the politically corrupt swamps of Washington DC of lobbyists and special interest groups, the U.S. military is plotting to drain the swamps of futuristic urban American cities of “noncombatants and engage the remaining adversaries in high intensity conflict within.”

[…]They are people who don’t support the government, people who live in fast-growing urban communities, people who may be less well-off economically than the government and corporate elite, people who engage in protests, people who are unemployed, people who engage in crime (in keeping with the government’s fast-growing, overly broad definition of what constitutes a crime).

In other words, in the eyes of the U.S. military, noncombatants are American citizens a.k.a. domestic extremists a.k.a. enemy combatants who must be identified, targeted, detained, contained and, if necessary, eliminated.

Welcome to Battlefield America.

For those who are old enough and engaged enough to have followed the last several cycles of American politics, this is a a disaster that has been decades in the making.

During the Reagan years, there was Rex 84 and other plans to control unstable populations during times of national emergency. Though the plan was highly secretive, the parts that did come out used the scenario of the need to deal with a mass wave of immigration from Mexico as the cover story, though the use of camps and detainment clearly implicated American dissidents and undesirables as well.

A scenario very close to this could play out today, with the Trump Administration planning massive deportation and attempting to institute a “Muslim ban,” while a huge wave of Americans on the other side of the fence are vehemently protesting his actions. It creates an atmosphere of tension, suspicion, and the emergency use of force, detainment, etc.

President George W. Bush presided over the passage of the PATRIOT Act and a bevy of executive orders and anti-American legislation that places the aura of surveillance, suspicion and control over the American people themselves, and locks down the system with a federally-controlled counter-terrorism apparatus that envelopes every aspect of the nation and its system of laws and regulation.

The 2006 John Warner Defense Act gave a legal basis for abandoning Posse Comitatus and opening the floodgates to U.S. military troops patrolling the homeland and exerting “authority” over the people – in the name of combating terrorism.

Just a sample of the far-reaching power that has been established over the past several U.S. presidents:

Executive Order #10995: Seizure of all communications media in the United States.
Executive Order #10997: Seizure of all electric power fuels and minerals, public and private.
Executive Order #10999: Seizure of all means of transportation, including personal cars, trucks or vehicles of any kind and total control of highways, seaports and waterways.
Executive Order #11000: Seizure of all American people for work forces under federal supervision including the splitting of families if the government finds it necessary.
Executive Order #11001: Seizure of all health, education and welfare facilities, public and private.
Executive Order #11002: Empowered the postmaster general to register all men, women and children in the U.S.
Executive Order #11003: Seizure of all airports and aircraft.
Executive Order #11004: Seizure of all housing and finance authorities to establish Forced Relocation Designated areas to be abandoned as “unsafe.”
Executive Order #11005: Seizure of all railroads, inland waterways and storage facilities, public and private.
Executive Order #12919: Signs June 3, 1994, by President Clinton. Encompasses all the above executive orders.

Dark times, and the start of a very deep-seated tide of resistance and anger in the American people. With President Obama, a curve-ball, a fresh face not expected, and thus pacifying to the American people. But with his softer personality still came grave developments for the abuse of power by the federal government and the continuity of government structure. Countless executive orders and laws during his administration furthered the tyranny, and further cooked our problems with clashing parts of society. This was extremely evident in the racial and inner-city strife that became the hallmark of the Obama era.

It was less discussed how Obama signed the 2012 NDAA, and along with funding for the military, authorization to treat American citizens as potential combatants here at home on American soil.

It is there in writing; President Obama even issued an executive statement with the bill explaining away how even though he consented to create the legal power to “indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens,” that he would never, personally, authorize the use of indefinite military detention of American citizens without trial…

Future presidents, however, could take up that power, and it won’t make any difference whether Barack Obama agrees with the rationale or not. There’s no reason here to languish here over whether President Trump will abuse that power, or that a future president might. The fact of the matter is that the temptation is there; the weapon is loaded. May cooler heads prevail.

But when something does play out, it will be military, FEMA, Homeland Security, local and regional police, special units, contractors, etc. who will be implementing the techniques revealed above – civil unrest will be stopped by any means necessary.

The military are literally training to occupy American cities, detain American citizens, engage anyone deemed to be a combatant, and restore order to entire cities, putting the lives of potentially tens of millions of people on hold, or upending them altogether. Will a crisis emerge, such as an economic collapse? Maybe the better question is, can such a crisis be avoided?

Maybe an earth shattering catastrophe has become simply too hard to dodge. If a big enough natural disaster doesn’t strike, the powers that be could simply engineer a crisis – financial, environmental spill, terrorist attack, urban riots – it really doesn’t matter what type of event.

This is because the fatal flaws of these cities – the problems of density, and supply vulnerabilities, and of clashing tensions between groups, and of abuse of power  – will create immediate problems with each and every major crisis, just as rush hour ruins the afternoon of big city communities right on schedule every day. Nobody specifically orchestrated the gridlock, though they theoretically could have, and yet the natural problems of congestion virtually guarantee that traffic will not move, people will have accidents, get angry, and have nowhere to go and no way to get out of the situation.

The same metaphor will hold true for the next big urban disaster – any Hurricane Sandy could shutdown New York, Boston, Philadelphia, etc. if an evacuation is ordered, if a category 4 or 5 hits directly, if there is significant flooding, or property damage and loss of life is widespread, or another large scale terror attack takes place. The development of society has pushed more than 80% of the world’s population into cities, in almost every part of the globe. It is especially true in the United States and the western world.

The pressures are there, and they are real. They are waiting for the next crisis to unfold, and explode.

When prepping for what could happen, and how you will handle it, consider the many vulnerabilities of the city nearest you with a sober and careful eye. Whatever your strategy for survival, keep one foot out yonder, if indeed you must be tied to cities and urban areas like everyone else. Everything you know and take for granted in cities could collapse at a moment’s notice.

Army Preps for Urban Warfare in MegaCities: “Mass Migration, Disaster and Inner-City Turmoil”

There will be war in the streets of America. Things have been engineered that way.

The scenarios are many, the issues are complex. The current anger from the left, who are violently protesting against President Trump, is just one aspect of it.

But the Pentagon and the U.S. national security structure is increasingly looking towards the shifting demographics around the globe – people have moved from rural areas, and shifted into cities. Where ever conflict stirs, there will be a need for military and SWAT response to the call. Entire cities will be locked down; door to door sweeps will often have violent ends.

Baghdad could be brought home to the streets of America, and the military already knows it.

The powers that be are deeply concerned about the unfolding situations with migrants, illegal immigrants, potential terrorists, political factions, violent protests, arson and riots.

Increasingly, they are training for and expecting a homegrown conflict that will call for them to restore order in a major cities – and even hunt down suspects block to block, like in the Boston Marathon bombing incident, while making some significant infringement of our civil liberties.

During the past several years, there have been reports about unannounced urban warfare drills in major U.S. cities, sometimes in coordination with major events; there have also been military training scenarios that have maintained a consistent theme of civil unrest, economic breakdown and widespread riots.

For years the alternative media has warned about the US military possibly being used against the American people in a time of economic collapse or any sort of martial law scenario.

Drills such as Vigilant Guard 2010 have brought widespread attention to the fact that portions of our own military are training to take on crowds of American citizens demanding food and Constitutional rights in a time of crisis.

Now, a new release by the website Public Intelligence, once again confirms that as recently as February and March of 2012, US troops at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington were conducting training scenarios for a civil disturbance domestic quick reaction force.

A series of photos of the drills shows US troops with crowd control riot shields on the opposite side of actors portraying what can only be described as American citizens.

What do the elite know that we don’t?

Now, a major military scholar is calling for the creation of “megacities combat units” – a proposal that is a major and drastic departure from warfare of the past, which has been designed away from cities. Now, military and paramilitary units, as well as local law enforcement, much engage the population itself – with all the unpredictability afforded by a real life, complex situation filled with combatants, non-combatants and friendlies behind any and all doors, etc.

With a heightened focus on terrorism and reigning in undocumented immigrants, there will be a tendency, if we are not careful, for a heightened militarized and police state atmosphere to arise – both at home, and in everyplace that they take the fight.

Major John Spencer, a former Ranger Instructor and scholar at West Point’s Modern War Institute called for an armed unit ready for megacities deployment in an op-ed:

Every year, more and more of the world’s population moves into cities. The number of megacities is growing exponentially. Both of these global patterns and their inevitable consequences for military operations are well documented. Yet we still do not have units that are even remotely prepared to operate in megacities. If we want to find success on the urban battlefields the US Army will inevitably find itself fighting on in the future, that needs to change.

Throughout history, military forces either sought to avoid or simply had no need to engage in urban combat. Most military doctrine, and the strategic theory it is built upon, encourages land forces to bypass, lay siege to, or—if required—isolate and slowly clear cities from the outside in. The great armies of the world have historically fought for cities rather than in cities, a distinction with a significant difference. In cases where military forces had no choice but to operate within cities, the environment, almost without exception, proved very costly in both military and civilian casualties. Today, many armies have accepted that global population growth and urbanization trends will increasingly force military operations into crowded cities, and military forces must therefore be capable of conducting the full range of operations in large, dense urban areas.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley recently remarked that the Army “has been designed, manned, trained and equipped for the last 241 years to operate primarily in rural areas.” But that is about to change. Milley continued:

The conclusions of the SSG research are clear: megacities are unavoidable, they are potentially the most challenging environment the Army has ever faced, and the Army is unprepared to operate in them.

One ongoing military study of megacities is the NATO Urbanization Project. […] In the project’s most recent experiment, the NATO team conducted a wargame to determine the capabilities needed to achieve the goals of three likely missions in 2035: response to mass migration, natural disaster, and inner-city turmoil. Within these missions, the wargame specified that a brigade conduct three operations in a megacity—joint forcible entry, major combat, and subsequent stability operations—without unacceptable levels of military or civilian casualties.

Of course, urban warfare is not exclusively a future phenomenon. Much has been learned from urban battles in recent history: the Siege of Sarajevo (1992–95); the Battle of Mogadishu (1993); Russian operations in Grozny (1994–95 and 1999–2000); US operations in Baghdad (2003) and Fallujah (2004); Lebanese operations in Nahr al-Bared, Lebanon (2007); and the Second Battle of Donetsk (2014–15). But the broad lessons of these cases have yet to truly inform Army training for urban combat, which for most units consists mainly of tactical training (e.g., room clearing drills with four-man teams). The Army would be much better served by the creation of an entire unit dedicated to preparing to operate in dense urban environments, particularly megacities.

Any way you slice it, the military and the national security infrastructure are watching for cracks in the system.

People are at their wits end, and many are on the edge of poverty – and for many, it just won’t take much more to set them loose, and let riots erupt. Whether the system wants those to spread, or wants to suppress and contain them, they know they are coming.

Population pressures, and clashing groups within growing city centers are creating more problems, and compounding old ones.

If the economic stability of a given region were to give way, nearly every megacity would spiral out of control and descend into absolute madness – whether or this continent or any other.

 The following Pentagon video was featured by The Intercept and portrays the chilling atmosphere presented by sheer numbers and those who would enter such environments in the pursuit of order.

Rather than trying to guess what specific crisis may spill over into violence, or bring things to a stand still in traffic or electronic commerce, just consider the piling pressure that is growing in the techno hubs and swelling urban population centers.

New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston and dozens of enormous cities around the world are all completely vulnerable. Depending upon the political situation, unrest, violence or whatever else could spread across the entire Eastern half of the U.S., and the entire country could face collapse as it has never before known it. It is only a question of timing and circumstance.

Preppers should take all this into account. Modern life may make a connection to the city unavoidable prior to the collapse, but being insufficiently away from major urban centers is definitely a liability in times of crisis. Even outlying neighbors can be subject to looting, natural disaster, grid shutdown, riots, and many other situations. Make arrangements to shelter away from the city, and make sure you can get there safely and quickly when something goes down.

Do not rely on the services or goods of these cities, and get out while you still can. There are some very major crises brewing right now. They are preparing; you should, too.
