DHS Announces Program to ILLEGALLY Scan Our Faces And They’re Forcing Us To Pay For It

face-scan-696x366

Both Congress and the Department of Homeland Security have never justified the biometric scanners at airports that could cost Americans $1 billion in 2018.

As TSA agents continue to prove their incompetence in the “War on Terror,” the Department of Homeland Security is now allocating $1 billion in taxpayer funding to create a facial recognition program that will illegally scan Americans’ faces.

A study conducted by Georgetown Law’s Center for Privacy and Technology looked at the biometric scanners that are creating an inventory of the faces of individuals leaving the country at airports across the United States. While they are only at certain major airports right now, the full implementation of these scanners could cost Americans up to $1 billion.

The study noted that while the “9/11 Response and Biometric Exit Account” created by Congress has the funds for the program, neither Congress nor DHS has ever justified the need for the program.”

In addition to the fact that Congress has never provided a reason why the system is needed in the U.S., the study claimed that DHS has “repeatedly questioned ‘the additional value biometric air exit would provide’ compared with the status quo and the ‘overall value and cost of a biometric air exit capability,’ even as it has worked to build it.”

Not only is a government agency pouring $1 billion into a program to increase the country’s security measures even though it lacks full confidence, and has no evidence that the program it is implementing will do so, there is also the fact that the program requires Americans to give up their civil liberties, and it has never been explicitly authorized by the government. As the researchers from Georgetown Law noted:

“DHS’ biometric exit program also stands on shaky legal ground. Congress has repeatedly ordered the collection of biometrics from foreign nationals at the border, but has never clearly authorized the border collection of biometrics from American citizens using face recognition technology.

Without explicit authorization, DHS should not be scanning the faces of Americans as they depart on international flights—but DHS is doing it anyway. DHS also is failing to comply with a federal law requiring it to conduct a rulemaking process to implement the airport face scanning program—a process that DHS has not even started.”

The study also found that the biometric scanners used by DHS are not reliable, and often make mistakes. In fact, according to DHS’ own data, DHS’ face recognition systems erroneously reject as many as 1 in 25 travelers using valid credentials.” This means that at the country’s busiest airports, more than 1,500 travelers could be wrongfully denied boarding in a single day.

As The Free Thought Project has reported, while the biometric scanners are currently located at the major airports in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, New York City and the District of Columbia, DHS has made it clear that they plan to roll this program out nationwide by January 2018.

Sens. Ed Markey, a Democrat from Massachusetts, and Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah, criticized the privacy implications, and called for Homeland Security to halt the facial recognition scanning program in a letter to DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielson:

“We request that DHS stop the expansion of this program, and provide Congress with its explicit statutory authority to use and expand a biometric exit program on U.S. citizens.

If there is no specific authorization, then we request an explanation for why DHS believes it has the authority to proceed without congressional approval. Additionally, we ask that you address a number of our privacy concerns with the program.”

Markey told The Hill that DHS should never have started testing and implementing the biometric scanners without first receiving congressional approval, and the United States Congress should take the time to weigh the implications of the program before handing the department a blank check.

When American citizens travel by air internationally, they should not have to choose between privacy and security, Markey said. “The implementation of the Department of Homeland Security’s facial recognition scanning program for passengers leaving the country raises a number of concerns around accuracy, transparency and basic necessity.”

Internet Conspiracy Theory Predicted Attacks on Vegas and the Police State Response—3 Weeks Ago

state

In America, after every crisis, government reacts by stripping freedoms and rights to provide an illusion of security. This methodology is nothing new and, in fact, stems from the work of a 19th Century German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, known as Hegelian dialectic.

Hegelian dialectic usually presents itself in a threefold manner—a thesis, giving rise to its reaction, an antithesis, which contradicts or negates the thesis, and the tension between the two being resolved by means of a synthesis. In more simplistic terms, one can consider it thus; problem → reaction → solution.

If we apply this philosophy to the Las Vegas shooting, the problem is that a crazy person murdered dozens of people allegedly using legally obtained firearms. The reaction is that people are scared and don’t want others to have guns and they want to feel safe. The solution, as presented by those exploiting this tragedy for personal and political gain, will be to increase the police state and attempt to disarm Americans.

Like a record spinning on a turntable, this scenario plays out over and over again in America—all while the citizens cheer on the creation of the police state. This cheering is bipartisan as the left cheers for the dismantling of the 2nd Amendment while the right cheers on the expansion of the police state and militarization of police.

Sadly, both sides perpetually forget the very wise warning that those who surrender personal liberty for perceived security—deserve neither freedom nor security.

Indeed this warning is so tried and true that many of those paying attention are able to make predictions based on how the government will react to real or staged events. And, one internet sleuth on 4chan made some incredibly ominous predictions on the Las Vegas shooting and how it will usher in a windfall for the police state.

Disclaimer: We are not reporting what this user predicted as fact. We are only showing it because it serves to illustrate the motivation behind the problem, reaction, solution methodology of the state and their corporate partners.

Several weeks ago, on 9/11, a mysterious 4chan user who went only by “John” made a series of at the time overlooked posts. He warned users to stay away from any gatherings of large groups of people in the Vegas or nearby Henderson areas. Stating that he had insider knowledge of what he referred to as a “high incident project” that was set to occur soon.

The poster was ignored at the time since nothing seemed to occur on the 12th. However, the fact that John wrote “I can’t guarantee anything will happen tomorrow but las vegas is on their minds,” seems almost frightening now that only weeks later this massive massacre took place.

While these predictions can easily be written off as a broken clock being right twice a day, the next prediction he made cannot.

As Squawker notes, he states this “project” will be done with an endgame goal of passing new laws in Nevada regarding casino security. Making pricey new security screening machines mandatory for all guests. With even further more ambitious plans to follow suit in our schools and other public buildings if the public goes along with the casino machines easily enough.

He also specifically names former head of the Department of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and Casino owner and billionaire Sheldon Adelson as the two men set to profit most off the wave of new regulations set to spring up in response to the Vegas incident. It’s not all that unreasonable even to believe that Mr. Chertoff might seek to profit from a new security panic in the wake of Vegas. Given that the man has already been accused of abusing the public trust by raising security fears among average American’s in an attempt to sell his companies body scanners before, all the way back in 2010.

Indeed, OSI, the company mentioned in the prediction, is already seeing record profits. On Thursday, OSI stocks reached record highs and have never seen a higher level other than immediately following the horrific attacks in Paris in November 2015. Beginning to see how this works?

  • Problem: Insane criminals with guns

  • Reaction: “Take our guns! Keep us safe!”

  • Solution: Foster the corporate police state at the expense of personal liberty.

OSI Systems, Inc reached a near all-time high Thursday morning at $93.57

Now, the “solution” of a police state, as predicted by ‘John’ on 4chan, is being rolled out. “Nevada will pass a law in the future making all casinos have mandatory metal detectors and backscatter machines,” he predicted. However, no law was needed.

As Bloomberg reports, customers waited nearly ten minutes before entering the Wynn resort in Las Vegas on Monday afternoon as guards scanned visitors with metal-detector wands and inspected their bags, creating a 10-minute wait to get inside. The new security protocol, put in place after Sunday’s mass shooting nearby, is likely to become the norm in Vegas, and possibly beyond.

Casinos and entertainment venues are going to have to take a more holistic approach to security, thinking about rooftops and other potential shooting – considering the possibilities for an attack from all angles, said David Shepherd, a former FBI special agent in counterterrorism who later was the security director for Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s Venetian resort.

“We have to start thinking like the Secret Service – start looking at tall buildings,” said Shepherd, who co-authored a book called “Active Shooter.” “How far do we have to take it?”

Metal detectors and door checks will likely become standard operating procedure at most of the city’s hotels and casinos, one executive told Bloomberg.

One executive at another casino operator, who asked not to be identified because security matters are sensitive, said the Wynn’s security check at the door is probably the industry’s future because there’s no other way to screen for people carrying weapons.

While this may seem fine on the surface, the reality is that no amount of police state measures can ever prevent a deranged lunatic from killing people. Short of locking everyone in a maximum security prison, there will always be this looming—albeit extremely rare—threat.

To see how ineffective and brutal further massive police state expansion will be, we need only look at the TSA which came into existence as the state’s problem, reaction, solution to 9/11.

The TSA is, without a doubt, one of America’s most corrupt, incompetent, and freedom stomping agencies whose ostensible job is fighting terrorism. Earlier this year, they became apparently so unsatisfied with the mere ability to strip search babies, remove colostomy bags, beat up blind cancer patients, and fondle your genitalia, that they announced a more invasive physical pat-downs. The pat-downs, which TSA warned would probably prompt assault complaints, are now happening.

The TSA has never stopped a terror attack and is unable to stop 95 percent of the tests against its tactics, yet it gropes and molests children and adults alike — who unquestioningly accept it. Americans are being conditioned for a total police state and they have no idea.

The problem, reaction, solution paradigm is not in the interest of freedom and only serves to enrich those who profit from tragedy and the usurpation of rights.

Please share this article with your friends and family to show them how dangerous trading freedom for security can be.

WATCH: TSA Gropes Man’s Testicles So Hard He Now Has Bleeding And Needs Surgery

tsa

The TSA is, without a doubt, one of America’s most corrupt and incompetent agencies whose ostensible job is fighting terrorism. However, earlier this year, they become apparently so unsatisfied with the mere ability to strip search babies, remove colostomy bags, beat up blind cancer patients, and fondle your genitalia, that they announced a more invasive physical pat-downs. The pat-downs, which TSA warned would probably prompt assault complaints with the police department because of their invasive nature, are now apparently being implemented.

Just ask David Stavropolous.

Stavropolous was on his way home to Dallas last March when he was selected for additional screening after going through the radiation emitting body scanner.

Because of the resulting ‘additional screening’, Stavropolous said he will now have to undergo surgery in October. His genitals were allegedly groped so hard, he now experiences bleeding.

“I see a urologist once or twice a month,” he said. “I’m still in pain—I still have issues with bleeding.”

As NBC Chicago reports, in a federal complaint filed Wednesday, Stavropolous detailed how he was stopped after stepping out of a full body scanner by an agent who asked if he had anything in his pockets.

“I pulled out a dollar bill,” he said. “I asked if I should go through the scanner one more time and he said no, we’ll do a full body patdown.”

During that patdown, video shows the TSA agent pushing upward on his testicles so hard that his pants jump up into his crotch. This happens twice.

Stavropolous said the jolts to his testicles were so hard that it caused him instant waves of pain.

“I turned around and said, you injured me,” he said. “I’d like to talk to your supervisor!”

This was apparent in the video.

When he asked to see a supervisor, however, Stavropolous says he was threatened with arrest. He was then told that he’ll be taken off to some other room and strip searched.

“I said if you’re going to do a strip search, I refuse,” he said. “I’ll do it out in the open!”

The TSA then subjected him to yet another patdown, forcing him to miss his flight. Knowing that he was going to miss his flight, he asked the TSA if he could simply leave the airport, but they had none of it.

“I asked at that point, since I was going to miss my flight could I just leave,” he said. “But they made me stay to do the additional patdown.”

A TSA spokesman declined to comment on the suit, but did release a canned statement:

“Lack of comment should not be construed as agreement or stipulation with any of the allegations,” the statement said. “In DHS’s homeland security mission, our trained officers adhere to the Department’s mission, uphold our laws while continuing to provide our nation with safety and security.”

Stavropolous’ attorney, Joel Handler had some strong words for the TSA.

“This was a body scan—they knew exactly what Dave had on him and what he didn’t,” Handler said. “Go into his groin area? For what?”

As for Stavropolous, he says this incident left him so traumatized, that he hasn’t flown since — a sentiment shared by countless others who’ve endured a similar fate at the blue-gloved hands of the TSA.

“I’m kind of fearful of going through TSA and having another event like I had,” he said. “I wouldn’t want to look forward to that!”

As TFTP has reported in the past, the TSA cares not about laying waste to your personal space and molesting anyone who comes in their path.

Just last month, TFTP reported on the video of Mrs. Longo, whose husband filmed her being completely molested by a TSA agent.

In the video, the female TSA agent is seen feeling literally every single inch of Mrs. Longo’s body. Nothing was off limits. Her breasts, her vagina, all of it was fair game to the agent.

The TSA, who’s never stopped a terror attack and is unable to stop 95 percent of the tests against its tactics, gropes and molests children and adults alike — who unquestioningly accept it. Americans are being conditioned for a police state and they have no idea.

As the Free Thought Project has pointed out countless times, the TSA has been caught in a myriad of criminal activity — including everything from massive drug trafficking conspiracies to brutal beat downs. Granting this already despicable group of cronies the ability to further dehumanize Americans for the facade of safety is nothing short of irresponsible and tyrannical — and, as this video shows, disgusting.

To the average American who buys into the ‘terrorists hate our freedom’ propaganda, this move by the TSA to grant them the legal ability to grope themselves and their children has been mostly accepted.

The videos above are only a small portion of many illustrations of this disgusting and tyrannical practice. Earlier this year, TFTP brought you the video of Jennifer Williamson and her son Aaron who were traveling through the DFW airport when they were targeted by power-tripping TSA agents and police.

Apparently, Williamson’s young son, who has Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), was deemed a threat by ‘security’ and pulled off to the side for extra screening. Scared for her and her son’s safety, Williamson filmed the interaction. The result is nothing short of infuriating.

Sadly, the groping, molestation, and tyranny all exist because most Americans say nothing when the state implements it. Those who remain silent in the face of injustice are complicit.

Video of TSA Molesting Man’s Wife, Exposes What Americans Will Endure for False Sense of Safety

A video uploaded to Facebook by John Longo has caused a firestorm of debate as well as serve to expose the tyrannical and intrusive nature of these new TSA pat downs.

After his wife was selected for ‘special screening’ — after TSA apparently missed the watch and bracelet on her wrists — Longo pulled out his camera and began recording.

“Yeah, we’re gonna miss my plane because the agent wants to feel up my wife,” he said as another TSA agent confronted him and attempted to block the video with his body.

In the video, the female TSA agent is seen feeling literally every single inch of Mrs. Longo’s body. Nothing was off limits. Her breasts, her vagina, all of it was fair game to the agent.

This groping and feeling up was all done in the name of keeping Americans safe. And, according to many who commented on the post, it is entirely justified.

But is it?

According to study after study of TSA effectiveness tests, they are horrible at stopping potential terror attacks. In fact, an internal investigation of the TSA revealed security failures at dozens of the nation’s busiest airports, where undercover investigators were able to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials, according to a bombshell investigative report by ABC.

But their lack of effectiveness still has people trying to justify their own molestation. In one disgusting comment, a Facebook user said he would allow his children to undergo ‘anything’ the TSA wanted to do to keep them safe.

Ive worked for the government and I have a 8 year old daughter and if TSA it anytime felt that I was a threat I would feel most obligated to assure that I was not a threat in it allow them to do anything possible within their means and within their scope to assure that I was not a threat to this nation security do you understand?

Even a Facebook user claiming to be an aviation security trainer called out the invasive search in the comments, yet most Americans remain oblivious.

As a(n) aviation security trainer, that was absolutely excessive fondling! That was not a pat down but a lesson how to caress and feel up a woman. I was looking out for the kiss. I give them a F minus! Yeech!

Cops Forced to Apologize, Give Back Pot After Raiding Man’s Home Over His Medicine

medicine

In the sad saga of the War on Drugs, police carry out countless raids on the homes of people who’ve committed victimless “crimes” of possessing substances deemed illegal by the State. So the rare times this injustice can be flung back in the face of authorities, it’s cause for celebration.

An Ohio medical cannabis patient was able to do just that by utilizing a provision in Ohio law called Affirmative Defense. According to Ohio Cannabis News, the man had just flown home from Colorado, and for some reason the TSA – that useless, rights-violating federal agency – tipped off local police on the suspicion that the man was doing something wrong.

By the next morning, local police had secured a warrant to raid the man’s home, but they were in for a surprise.

“The patient’s home was then raided, but authorities only discovered 5 grams of concentrate.  The patient’s attorney arrived to explain that his client was within the bounds of Ohio law, as said patient has a qualifying condition and a doctor’s recommendation using the Ohio Patients Network Form that we have listed below.

The medication was then given back with an apology, along with immunity from further prosecution, related to this case.”

Ohio cops almost got their chance to throw this hardened criminal into a cage for having five grams of cannabis concentrate, but they were no match for informed citizens utilizing a new legal defense.

On September 8, 2016, Ohio lawmakers extended what is known as Affirmative Defense to medical cannabis patients. This is a general term that allows for a person to be excused from criminal charges, such as a case where a person strikes and injured another in self-defense.

READ MORE:  Don"t Buy the Lies, 8 Jury Nullification Objections Rebutted

It is illegal in Ohio to possess cannabis or paraphernalia, but now, with the right paperwork, Ohio residents can in certain situations assert Affirmative Defense by claiming they are in compliance with the state’s medical cannabis law.

According to the Marijuana Policy Project:

“There are several requirements that must be established for a person to prove the affirmative defense. The key requirement is a written statement from a doctor who has received a certification to recommend medical marijuana from the medical board. The written statement must show that:

  • The patient has a condition listed in the state’s medical marijuana law,

  • The patient and the doctor have a bona fide physician-patient relationship,

  • The physician informed the patient of the risks and benefits of medical marijuana, and

  • The physician indicated that the benefits of medical marijuana use outweigh the risks.

The doctor must also obtain a report from the state drug database showing any other drugs prescribed to the patient in the past 12 months, and patients may only use medical marijuana in an approved form. Finally, patients may possess no more than a 90-day supply of cannabis, which is not defined under the law.”

Fortunately, the Ohio man targeted by TSA and local cops was ahead of the game, and his attorney was ready to come to his client’s defense on the spot.

Ohio Cannabis News said the process of using the Ohio Patient’s Network recommendation form was not easy for the patient, but it nevertheless prevented the state from turning him into a criminal. They also caution that this will not work in every case scenario.

Slowly but surely, states across the country – even staunchly prohibitionist ones like Georgia, Tennessee and West Virginia – are acknowledging the healing powers of cannabis and are taking steps to decriminalize its medical use.

Recent polls shows that almost 90 percent of Americans support medical cannabis, and 54 percent support full legalization. The cruelty of the drug war is exposed. It’s time for all cops, everywhere, to stop locking people in a cage for using a plant.

Video of TSA Agent Molesting a Boy Exposes the Sick Nature of the US Police State

The TSA — one of America’s most corrupt and incompetent agencies whose ostensible job is fighting terrorism — is apparently so unsatisfied with the mere ability to strip search babies, remove colostomy bags, beat up blind cancer patients, and fondle your genitalia, that they announced a more invasive physical pat-down earlier this month. The pat-downs, which TSA warned would probably prompt assault complaints with the police department because of their invasive nature, are now apparently being implemented. And a new video uploaded to Facebook this week shows their horrifying implementation.

Jennifer Williamson and her son Aaron were traveling through the DFW airport this weekend when they were targeted by power-tripping TSA agents and police. Apparently, Williamson’s young son, who has Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), was deemed a threat by ‘security’ and pulled off to the side for extra screening. Scared for her and her son’s safety, Williamson filmed the interaction. The result is nothing short of infuriating.

As the video begins, Aaron is being treated as if he is checking into a maximum security prison. Then, the sicko TSA agent, ‘just doing his job,’ begins to grope and prod the young boy. At some points during the molestation, the agent’s hands can be seen in direct contact with the boy’s genitalia.

Williamson posted the video to her Facebook profile, with the following description:

We have been through hell this morning. They detained Aaron for well over an hour at DFW. (And deliberately kept us from our flight… we are now on an alternate) We were treated like dogs because I requested they attempt to screen him in other ways per TSA rules. He has SPD and I didn’t want my child given a pat down like this. Let me make something else crystal clear. He set off NO alarms. He physically did not alarm at all during screening, he passed through the detector just fine. He is still several hours later saying “I don’t know what I did. What did I do?” I am livid. Please, share… make this viral like the other children’s videos with TSA… I wish I had taped the entire interchange because it was horrifying. We had two DFW police officers that were called and flanking him on each side. Somehow these power tripping TSA agents who are traumatizing children and doing whatever they feel like without any cause, need to be reined in.

As Williamson wished, the video has since gone viral and exposes this ominous practice of molesting children to ‘keep you safe.’

On its website, in regards to the new patdown techniques, the TSA says employees “use the back of the hands for pat-downs over sensitive areas of the body. In limited cases, additional screening involving a sensitive area pat-down with the front of the hand may be needed to determine that a threat does not exist.”

We are now witnessing the infuriating effects of such a practice. In the video below, the agent is clearly using the front of his hands to grope this little boy.

“Due to this change, TSA asked FSDs [field security directors] to contact airport law enforcement and brief them on the procedures in case they are notified that a passenger believes a [TSA employee] has subjected them to an abnormal screening practice,” Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) wrote earlier this month.

To the average American who buys into the ‘terrorists hate our freedom’ propaganda, this move by the TSA to grant them the legal ability to grope themselves and their children, has been mostly accepted. However, to those of us who pay attention and realize that the TSA has a 95% failure rate at stopping anything from coming through, as well as being a massively corrupt and predatory organization, this move is seen for what it actually is — conditioning for the police state.

Fmr Police Chief Gets a Dose of the Police State as He’s Detained at Airport ‘Because of His Name’

New York, NY — (RT) A retired police chief who served in US law enforcement for nearly 30 years says he was detained at JFK airport because his name, Hassan Aden, had reportedly been used as an alias by a person on “some watch list.”

After a joyful weekend celebrating his mother’s 80th birthday in Paris, Aden “happily” boarded his return flight to the US on March 13, a country he has been a citizen of for more than four decades.

When it was his turn to speak to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer, Aden says he was asked if he was traveling alone.

“I knew this was a sign of trouble, I answered ‘yes,’ then he said, ‘Let’s take a walk,’” he wrote on Facebook.

That walk led Aden to what he described as a “re-purposed storage facility with three desks.” Signs were posted throughout the room, warning people to stay seated and informing them that using mobile phones was “strictly prohibited.”

Aden says he attempted to explain that he was a retired police chief, but the immigration officer said that he had “no control” and couldn’t release him, despite his long career in law enforcement.

A second officer provided a bit more information, explaining to Aden that his name “was used as an alias by someone on some watch list.” The 52-year-old was told that his information had been sent to another agency to “de-conflict and clear me so I could gain passage into the United States… my own country!!!”

While Aden waited, he noticed that he was being held longer than anyone else, despite having been a US citizen for 42 years. While the citizens of other countries spent five minutes in the room, Aden says he was stuck there for 1.5 hours.

Despite being trapped with no means of communicating with his wife or family, he was told by the original CBP officer that he was not being detained.

“But I’m not free to leave – how is that not a detention?” he replied.

“My movements were restricted to a chair and they had my passport… and he had the audacity to tell me I was not being detained,” the retired police chief said.

As he waited, Aden said he recalled the “numerous trips abroad” when he had had “no problems” upon returning and was greeted by CBP officers with a “welcome home.”

He was eventually cleared and made his connecting flight to Washington DC “by minutes.”

Aden wrote that, despite being cleared, he now feels “vulnerable and unsure of the future of a country that was once great and that I proudly called my own.”

“This experience makes me question if this is indeed home. My freedoms were restricted, and I cannot be sure it won’t happen again, and that it won’t happen to my family, my children, the next time we travel abroad. This country now feels cold, unwelcoming, and in the beginning stages of a country that is isolating itself from the rest of the world – and its own people – in an unprecedented fashion. High levels of hate and injustice have been felt in vulnerable communities for decades – it is now hitting the rest of America,” he wrote.

WATCH: Ron Paul Just Destroyed TSA in Epic Rant Every American Should Hear

Ron Paul, a staunch proponent of privacy and civil liberties, wasted no time in condemning the Transportation Security Administration’s new patdown policy in a scathing video released on Tuesday. While his criticisms of the TSA are nothing new, Paul proves once again that he remains the most steadfast opponent to the agency’s controversial practice of body scans and patdowns that have led to substantial inconvenience and humiliation of travelers.

Previously, the TSA’s patdown policy allowed for five types of procedures. Their new procedures do away with those different options in favor of one, all-encompassing and remarkably more thorough patdown. The new procedure is largely due to a 2015 examination of TSA’s screening practices that criticized the agency’s failure to detect weapons. The TSA’s response to this report is to have their screeners veritably enforce more physical contact by using the front of the hands for a patdown rather than the back of the hand.

With the additional powers that the TSA recently granted upon itself, it’s no surprise that Paul immediately condemned the announcement of the new policy. The TSA’s new “guidelines” are allowing already-intrusive patdowns to further intensify, to the extent where the TSA has alerted local law enforcement agencies to be prepared for an influx of complaints.

Paul declared that liberty is impossible so long as the TSA continues to operate and increase its powers. He also rebuked the “complacent electorate” that cooperates with our “overly oppressive government.” He encouraged Americans to stand against the TSA by contacting representatives to voice their opposition. “It’s your life, and it’s your property. If you haven’t done any harm, they don’t have the right to do this to you and assume that you are a criminal,” said Paul. “If they want to treat you like a criminal, they ought to have due process.”

PaulPaul is a longstanding and vocal of foe of the TSA and has continuously shamed the agency’s practices over the years, and is arguably America’s biggest heckler of the TSA One of his campaign platforms as a presidential candidate was its elimination, and a congressman, he voted in opposition to the establishment of the TSA. Not only has he offered sharp criticism numerous times, he’s endured scuffles with the agency on more than one occasion.

In 2015, Campaign for Liberty posted a photo of Paul being groped at an airport while traveling back to his home in Texas.

Ron’s son, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) also shares the same disdain for the TSA and has lent his own criticisms of the agency’s invasive tactics and authoritative powers. Like his father, Rand has had his own altercations with the TSA; in 2012, he was blocked from boarding a flight after he triggered a false alarm and refused to submit to a full pat-down, requesting a follow-up body scan instead.

If not for his consistent rebuking of TSA practices, there very well could be a great number of Americans unaware of the program’s growth that has encroached civil liberties for many. His full breakdown of the new procedure is well worth the watch.

Below is the Ron Paul Liberty Report in its entirety.

New TSA Rules — More Aggressive Pat-Downs!

The Transportation Safety Administration has announced that it is going to get even more aggressive with innocent passengers. They said we must give up our liberty for security, but the TSA is an enemy of both. What can we do to fight back?

TSA’s New Groping Process So Invasive, They’re Warning Police To Prepare for Complaints

Something ominous is taking place at the Transportation Security Administration right now having to do with a more aggressive version of the already invasive pat-down method. The TSA is so certain their new groping method will offend that they have taken action to warn police ahead of time that they will undoubtedly be receiving complaints.

The TSA, one of America’s most corrupt and incompetent agencies whose ostensible job is fighting terrorism, who’s apparently so unsatisfied with the mere ability to strip search babies, remove colostomy bags, beat up blind cancer patients, and fondle your genitalia, that they announced a more invasive physical pat-down this week.

Taking note of their increased ability to grope anyone who wishes to fly on an airplane, the agency expects passengers to consider the examination unusual.

In fact, as Bloomberg reports, the TSA decided to inform local police in case anyone calls to report an “abnormal” federal frisking, according to a memo from an airport trade association obtained by Bloomberg News. The physical search, for those selected to have one, is what the agency described as a more “comprehensive” screening, replacing five separate kinds of pat-downs it previously used.

“Passengers who have not previously experienced the now standardized pat-down screening may not realize that they did in fact receive the correct procedure, and may ask our partners, including law enforcement at the airport, about the procedure,” TSA spokesman Bruce Anderson wrote March 3 in an email, describing why the agency notified police.

The fact that the TSA is alerting police to the fact that there will likely be an increase in complaints is bad enough. However, their vague details about the newly enhanced sexual assault with the fronts of their hands leave the imagination open for the worst.

On its website, the TSA says employees “use the back of the hands for pat-downs over sensitive areas of the body. In limited cases, additional screening involving a sensitive area pat-down with the front of the hand may be needed to determine that a threat does not exist.”

“Due to this change, TSA asked FSDs [field security directors] to contact airport law enforcement and brief them on the procedures in case they are notified that a passenger believes a [TSA employee] has subjected them to an abnormal screening practice,” Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) wrote

As the Free Thought Project has pointed out countless times, the TSA has been caught in a myriad of criminal activity — including everything from massive drug trafficking conspiracies to brutal beat downs. Granting this already despicable group of cronies the ability to further dehumanize Americans for the facade of safety is nothing short of irresponsible and tyrannical.

Laughably, the ACI-NA is justifying these enhanced pat-downs by claiming TSA agents aren’t intelligent enough to remember all the procedures.

The pat-down change is “intended to reduce the cognitive burden on [employees] who previously had to choose from various pat-down procedures depending on the type of screening lane,” the ACI-NA wrote in its notice, as reported by Bloomberg.

Now, instead of a dimwitted TSA agent fumbling to remember what pat-down to do in which lane, they can just pull the person off to a secret room and have their way with the front of their hands. Thanks, America!

Of course, when they were pressed for questions in regards to their new molestation techniques, the TSA said they couldn’t comment because “knowing our specific procedures could aid those who wish to do travelers harm in evading our measures.”

To the average American, who buys into the ‘terrorists hate our freedom’ propaganda, this move by the TSA to grant them the legal ability to grope themselves and their children, will be mostly accepted. However, to those of us who pay attention and realize that the TSA has a 95% failure rate at stopping anything from coming through, as well as being a massively corrupt and predatory organization — this move is seen for what it actually is — conditioning for the police state.

TSA Busted in Massive $100 Million, 40,000 lb Cocaine Smuggling Conspiracy

San Juan, Puerto Rico – In a case highlighting the infiltration of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) by transnational criminal organizations, twelve current and former TSA officers and airport staff were indicted for allegedly trafficking over 20 tons of cocaine — worth over $100 million — into the U.S. over an 18-years timeframe.

Last Wednesday, a federal grand jury returned an indictment against the twelve defendants, who are charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.

From 1988 to 2016 the conspirators allegedly smuggled about 40,000 pounds, or twenty tons, of cocaine through Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and into the United States, according to the DOJ.

The DOJ press release detailed how the massive trafficking operation allegedly worked:

During the course of the conspiracy, the defendants smuggled suitcases, each containing at least 8 to 15 kilograms of cocaine, through the TSA security system at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (LMMIA). Sometimes as many as five mules were used on each flight, with each mule checking-in up to two suitcases. From 1998 through 2016, the defendants helped smuggle approximately 20 tons of cocaine through LMMIA.

Six current and former TSA employees, José Cruz-López, Luis Vázquez-Acevedo, Keila Carrasquillo, Carlos Rafael Adorno-Hiraldo, Antonio Vargas-Saavedra, and Daniel Cruz-Echevarría allegedly smuggled multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine while employed as TSA Officers at the San Juan airport. Their full time responsibilities were to provide security and baggage screening for checked and carry-on luggage that was to be placed on outbound flights from the LMMIA. During the duration of the conspiracy, these TSA employees smuggled multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine through the TSA X-Ray machines within LMMIA and onto airplanes without detection.

“These individuals were involved in a conspiracy to traffic massive quantities of illegal narcotics to the continental United States,” said Rosa Emilia Rodríguez-Vélez, U.S. Attorney for the District of Puerto Rico. “These arrests demonstrate the success of the AirTAT initiative, which has successfully allocated a dedicated group of state and federal law enforcement officers, whose mission is to ensure that our airports are not used in the drug traffickers’ illicit businesses.”

Defendants Edwin Francisco Castro, Luis Vázquez-Acevedo and Ferdinand López are alleged to have operated as facilitators between drug trafficking organizations and the TSA employees who smuggled the cocaine into the airplanes. Defendant Miguel Ángel Pérez-Rodríguez, an airport security company employee, was a source of supply of cocaine to the drug trafficking organization, according to the superseding indictment.

The DOJ press release notes the strategic nature of the operation:

Defendant Javier Ortiz began assisting drug trafficking organizations as an employee of Airport Aviation Services (AAS) as a baggage handler/ramp employee. During the time of the conspiracy Ortiz used to pick up suitcases he knew contained cocaine from the mules at the airline check-in counter. Ortiz would then place the suitcases into the X-Ray machines being monitored by the TSA drug trafficking organization members, who cleared the suitcases. After the suitcases had been cleared by TSA members, Ortiz took the suitcases to their designated flight, making sure no narcotic K-9 unit or law enforcement personnel were present when the suitcase went from the checkpoint to the airplane. Once the suitcases were loaded into the airplane, defendant Ortiz would make a phone call to a drug trafficking organization member indicating the all clear and the mules would then board the airplane. Ortiz also paid the TSA employees for clearing the suitcases through TSA security.

Defendant Tomas Dominguez-Rohena assisted the drug trafficking organization by taking the suitcases he knew contained cocaine after they had been cleared by TSA members or smuggled passed security to their designated flight. Defendant José Gabriel López-Mercado was a mule for the criminal organization.

“This investigation was initiated by TSA as part of its efforts to address employee misconduct and specific insider threat vulnerabilities. TSA has zero tolerance for employees engaged in criminal activity to facilitate contraband smuggling,” said José Baquero, federal security director for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, in the Monday press release.

The indictment was a result of an internal TSA investigation by the Airport Investigations and Tactical Team (AirTAT), a 2-year-old multi-agency initiative.

If convicted, the defendants face prison terms of between 10-years to life in prison.

Not surprisingly, this is the second such bust of TSA officials in only 2 years for transporting massive amounts of cocaine.

In November 2015, three former TSA agents were indicted on charges of defrauding the government and smuggling cocaine.

According to the indictment, 35-year old Joseph Scott, 32-year-old Michael Castaneda, and 27-year-old Jessica Scott, all former TSA agents at San Francisco International Airport, were involved in an ongoing operation to help transport drugs through airport security.

8 Things You Need to Know About Trump’s Wall

January 25, 2017   |   admintam

(TFC) It’s expected to happen today: The President of the United States will order the construction of a 2000-mile long wall stretching across the nation’s southern border. While exact specifications of the wall are unknown, what is known is the cost of a single layer fence running the length of the border along with accompanying roads and fencing at checkpoints is $21,400,000,000. That’s not a wall, just a single fence. This cost doesn’t include maintenance, which would undoubtedly be enormous.

The cost isn’t the only problem with the wall, especially since despite the President’s outlandish claims, Mexico has repeatedly said it will not pay for the wall. The other problems range from the logistical to very concept.

It’s unnecessary: Apprehensions of aliens crossing the southern border are at their lowest levels in more than 40 years. In fact, in recent years, more Mexicans are leaving than coming. There are 160,000 less within US borders today than there were in 2005. Mexico’s fertility rate has dropped like a rock. The country is no longer experiencing a population explosion, in fact, it’s almost static. Therefore, they are staying home.

Walls are on the ground: Seems like an obvious statement, right? Apparently, it’s not. Depending on the estimate or study, 40% to 60% of illegals in the United States are here because of visa overstays. Most people who arrive with a visa fly into the country. Planes typically fly over walls without much trouble. After reading dozens of studies, I feel 40% is probably the most accurate figure. Trump’s anti-immigration centerpiece doesn’t address almost half of illegals.

Walls are on the ground: Yes, again. Walls are on the ground. The Mexican cartels have become the most ingenious tunnel-builders since the Viet Cong. They’re already using them to defeat drones. Remember, that the $21 billion dollar figure is for building a fence, not a massive wall that runs 20-feet underground. Even if it did, 21-feet isn’t really that much deeper. So instead of nonviolent Mexicans walking across the border, they will now enlist the help of the smuggling cartels, who will be happy to meet this new demand. The United States learned nothing from the War on Drugs. If there is a demand, it will be filled. The profits go up, and the money becomes a motive to murder law enforcement who get in the way.

Walls and fences can be breached: As an Immigration officer stated, “As an ICE officer, I visited the wall along the San Diego and Tijuana border, and saw portions blasted by smugglers only to be rebuilt over and over again on the taxpayers’ dime. How many times would Trump try to rebuild his multibillion dollar wall? Once? Ten times?”

History: Historically speaking, border walls don’t work. Even the Great Wall of China didn’t actually work.

It might increase illegal residents: Many illegals cross the border, work for a few months, then return to Mexico. Once the wall is up, those immigrants who honestly just come here to do the jobs Americans won’t may find it better to stay in the United States than risk another crossing. In the ultimate form of poetic justice, the wall meant to stop illegal immigration may increase it.

The TSA: After 9/11, Americans clamored for airport security as a method of stopping terrorists. This agency fails 95% of the time. In its entire history, there hasn’t been a case of the TSA stopping attacks. 9/11 did what Trump’s fear-mongering has done. It scared the American people into supporting something they know will be ineffective. This wall will be the utter disaster the TSA is. It will be expensive, bloated, militarized, and an utter failure.

Freedom: Walls have two sides. Just as the TSA was supposed to help protect you from those who hate you for your freedoms but then morphed into a grossly invasive federal agency with almost no accountability, the wall and the militarized presence that must accompany it will be turned on you.

The American people were sold by recycled slogans from the 80s and the nostalgia of a President who spoke as if the Cold War was still happening. He told Americans what to be afraid of and they were. He packaged and sold a concept that is false. He sold Americans on living in Fort Freedom. The problem is the only difference between a fort and a prison is which side of the door locks.
