People for the American Way says Right is Corrupt, Extreme and Lawless

I’m on Norman Lear’s “People For the American Way” email list. Watching their heads explode is entertaining but every once and a while I just have to respond to what they are saying. Their recent missive said they were “fighting against Trump Republicans’ all-out assault on our constitutional rights and values – – the American Way.” They wouldn’t know what was Constitutional if it bit them and when did supporting Islam become the “American Way”?

The subject line of their email was, “CORRUPTION, EXTREMISM, LAWLESSNESS – WE CAN’T STOP FIGHTING”. The following was my reply:

Really? Do you have ANY ability to self-examine?

Corruption on the Right? Did the Right conspire to ensure Bernie Sanders couldn’t win? Did the Right bus people to vote in different districts? Did the Right say you could keep your doctor and your plan? Did the Right go on five television shows to  say Benghazi was caused by a video when they knew it wasn’t? Does the Right pay people to silence Conservative speech? Did the Right send debate questions to the candidate and indignantly deny it…..before admitting it?  Did the Right set up an UNSECURED private server for the State Department putting classified information in danger and delete emails? The DNC is so corrupt Debbie Wasserman-Schultz had to resign.

Do you really not know why you lost the House, Senate & White House? Or elections across the nation, Governorships, legislatures, etc?

Extremism? Since when did supporting the Constitution become “extreme? Since when did the Free Market become “extreme”? Since when did free speech become “extreme”? When did our sovereignty become “extreme”?  When did not wanting our children indoctrinated become “extreme”? Telling our children there are more than two genders and gender is fluid is “extreme”. Taking away parental rights is “extreme”. Calling people who believe marriage is between a man and a woman (something the entire world believed for 2000 years) homophobes is “extreme”. Calling people who recognize Islam is not compatible with our culture Islamophobes is “extreme”. Calling people who want stop illegal immigration racist bigots is “extreme”. The Right doesn’t call people who disagree with them racist bigoted Islamophobic homophobes. They don’t silence people, they don’t harass sponsors. No, it’s the Left that is beating people with bicycle locks, burning cars & businesses, silencing people, and threatening to boycott sponsors unless they take Conservatives off television. THAT is “extreme”.

You [the Left] are projecting. You are accusing the Right of what the Left does in spades. You are harming this country and causing more division with your “extreme” claims. You need to do some “extreme” soul searching.

“Somebody Gettin Shot…Oh Well” Cop Records Himself Ignoring Cries For Help to Flirt

Following his arrest for domestic violence, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) in Lakewood is taking a closer look into the claims of violence and abuse one officer’s ex-girlfriend alleges. Deputy Jeremy Fennell, 26, was arrested in February and released on $50,000 bail for abusing his girlfriend, who says the department didn’t believe her when she first came to them with his alleged crimes. It was only after the department became aware of several videos Fennell made, which demonstrated he was guilty of “dereliction of duty,” did they start to put two and two together and launch an investigation.

Fennell’s pregnant ex-girlfriend, Priscilla Anderson, uploaded many of the more than 100 videos to YouTube. The most disturbing of which may be one in which Fennell received a call to respond to a shooting.

In the video, a police dispatcher can be heard announcing a “417,” meaning there’s a person with a gun. Fennel then records himself telling his ex-girlfriend about the call that he’s supposed to respond to by saying, “She can go f__k herself, Okay?” Appearing to ignore the calls for help, and preferring to flirt with his girlfriend, the rookie cop said, “I want you, you, you, you.” Again ignoring his duty to protect the public, the young patrolman told his then girlfriend, “Somebody gittin shot right now.” Fennell never responded to the call, through the duration of the video.

He listens silently for a few more seconds. “Look…I gotta go, but I’m not gonna go…because…you mad,” apparently referencing a riff he’s had with his girlfriend. Police are trained to run to danger, but Fennel, apparently, stayed put. The young cop sarcastically stated, “Somebody’s gettin’shot….Oh we-e-ll!…Oh, we-e-ll!” Preferring to patch his relationship supposedly, instead of doing his job, he said, “I wanna make things right with me and you.” He blew some kisses at his girlfriend and told her she could get some in person around 11pm later that evening.

But things would never be right between Fennell, his girlfriend, or his time on the force, again. After the police department watched the videos, their investigation was launched. Fennell was arrested on January 25, and placed on administrative duty the same day. After presumably posting $50,000 bail, he was released. The following month, Anderson asked for and was granted a three-year restraining order against her ex-boyfriend.

Anderson says Fennell repeatedly abused her. “When I tried to leave…he would not allow me to leave. He did several things to me, like struck me on the neck, choking me out by the neck, destroying things in the house,” she said. In an interview with KTLA News, Anderson said, “I was struck in the neck; I was choked.” Going further she said, “I was threatened [and] I had a gun pulled to my head.”

Ben Meiselas, Anderson’s attorney, is calling for the police department to be investigated after not previously believing her testimony about her ex-boyfriend’s abusive actions. “You have a deputy here who’s clearly gone rogue…If we as a community lose the trust in our police department to protect victims of abuse when police are the perpetrators of that abuse, we lose confidence in the whole system,” Meiselas said.

Sheriff Jim McDonnell stated, “We are very concerned about what is depicted in the video. The department is currently investigating the matter.” But it isn’t just one video which contains such damning information. There’s over 100. And in another video, Fennell can reportedly be seen and heard threatening another individual. He can be heard saying, “I’m going to come down there and get you. I’m going to make you call me. You see these lights, you know what I’m wearing? I can make you call me.”

Fennell is the son of sheriff’s Cmdr. Joseph Fennell, who was a personal driver for recently convicted ex-LAPD Sheriff Lee Baca. As The Free Thought Project recently reported, Baca was convicted of three felonies for his role in obstructing an FBI investigation into allegations of police brutality in the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles. Baca was convicted of “obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice and giving false statements”.

KTLA News spoke with a retired police officer who had a chance to view the videos. He said, “What I just saw on this YouTube video is arrogant and shameful…If the incident occurred anywhere near his assigned area of responsibility and he truly delayed his response, it is a prima facia case of dereliction of duty.”

American Politicians: Yes, We Are Corrupt! (VIDEO)

 

“You can’t get rich in politics unless you are a crook.” -President Harry S. Truman

The first president of the United States, George Washington, warned long ago concerning those who represent the American people that “few men have the virtue to withstand the highest bidder.”

As we take a look at what is happening in the arena of politics today, we can see that his warnings have been largely ignored by the people that he was addressing.

Today, Americans are betrayed on a daily basis by corrupt politicians, and that with a kiss (Luke 22:48).

To prove the point, have you ever wondered about the politicians who are to serve “We the people” enter office with little to nothing and before you know it, they have garnered great wealth? As a matter of fact, 268 of the 534 members are millionaires. One has to ask the question, who are they working for, especially knowing that their salaries do not match their accumulated wealth.

How is it that America has experienced so much un-godly and un-constitutional change (Proverbs 24:21) over the last 50 years in this country?  Yet, we wonder why America is being turned into hell (Psalm 9:17).

Perhaps it is because there have been senators in this government that have been serving themselves, as well as special interests groups that have literally been conspiring against the American people for years such as Robert C. Byrd (D-WV).  Don’t forget about Daniel K. Inouye who served 49 years, Storm Thurmond 47 years, Edward Kennedy 46 years, Patrick J. Leahy 42 years, and the list goes on and on.

I can just here the media-minded, modern day conservative say, “This is not right!” or “Where did you get this information from? Go ahead and back it up Bradlee!”

I say, “I always have in the past, and so I will do again.”

Here is a list of politicians that have admitted that money controls politics.

• Jesse Unruh, Speaker of the California Assembly in the 1960s and California State Treasurer in the 1970s and 80s. He said,

“Money is the mother’s milk of politics.”

“[T]he millionaire class and the billionaire class increasingly own the political process, and they own the politicians that go to them for money. … we are moving very, very quickly from a democratic society (America is a Republic), one person, one vote, to an oligarchic form of society, where billionaires would be determining who the elected officials of this country are.”

• Socialist Bernie Sanders, US senator from Vermont, said many similar things, such as, “I think many people have the mistaken impression that Congress regulates Wall Street. … The real truth is that Wall Street regulates the Congress.”

In other words, the dog is not wagging the tail, the tail is, in fact, wagging the dog.

• Vice President Joe Biden said “You have to go where the money is. Now where the money is, there’s almost always implicitly some string attached. … It’s awful hard to take a whole lot of money from a group you know has a particular position then you conclude they’re wrong [and] vote no.”


• “Today’s whole political game, run by an absurdist’s nightmare of moneyed elites, is ridiculous – a game in which corporations are people and money is magically empowered to speak; candidates trek to the corporate suites and secret retreats of the rich, shamelessly selling their political souls.” – Jim Hightower, former Democratic agricultural commissioner of Texas.


• “People tell me all the time that our politics in Washington are broken and that multimillionaires, billionaires and big corporations are calling all the shots … it’s hard not to agree.” — Russ Feingold, three-term Democratic senator from Wisconsin, in 2015 announcing he’s running for the Senate again.


• “Lobbyists and career politicians today make up what I call the Washington Cartel. … [They] on a daily basis are conspiring against the American people. … Career politicians’ ears and wallets are open to the highest bidder.” —  Ted Cruz, R-Texas.


• “I can legally accept gifts from lobbyists unlimited in number and in value … As you might guess, what results is a corruption of the institution of Missouri government, a corruption driven by big money in politics.” — Missouri State Sen. Rob Schaaf


• “When you start to connect the actual access to money, and the access involves law enforcement officials, you have clearly crossed a line. What is going on is shocking, terrible.” – James E. Tierney, former attorney general of Maine.

Listen to what Daniel Webster said to the American people only to reinforce Presidents George Washington and Harry S. Truman’s statements:

“I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.” 

Remember, America, prevention is better than cure (Isaiah 26:9).
