Nomi Prins: Collusion! How Central Bankers Rigged the World

This article was originally published by Adam Taggart at PeakProsperity.com

Nomi Prins, Wall Street veteran turned financial industry reformist returns to the podcast this week to explain the findings within her new book Collusion: How Central Bankers Rigged The World.

Nomi has put together a timeline of exactly when and how the central banks have plundered the wealth of the masses since 2008, either directly or indirectly through the loss of purchasing power of the currencies they control:

The relationship between the Central Banks, the major ones — the Fed, Europe Central Bank, Bank of Japan — all the larger Central Banks in the world and their private banks was effectively, and is effectively, kept secret. The relationships they have with each other, a lot of it is secret; so you have to really dig in to it to find out what’s really going on.

What I did was dig into the documents that I could find and create a timeline. That’s why each chapter in each region starts in 2008. It works with Mexico, Brazil, Japan, China and Europe and juxtaposes that with what the Fed was doing at that time to see how that collusive behavior wound up happening. The secret-ness is in the relationships of the banks, where that money that was fabricated by these institutions actually went, and when — or if — it’s coming back.

The ‘cheat and deceiving’ part of that definition is also apparent: people have been cheated out of their futures from the standpoint of the central banks’ strategies. So when the Feds creates cheap money, companies and banks and countries borrow more from the future because it is so cheap and easy. This deceives many people into thinking that the economy is somehow therefore being helped by this strategy, which is in acutality an emergency strategy. It’s an emergency that’s gone on now for ten years.

Yes there have been some tweaks here and there — interest rates have gone up a little bit in the United States — but all in all, rates are still pretty much 0% on average globally and quantitative easing still exists. The books of the major Central Banks are as big as they were at their heights through this last ten-year period…and they’re still growing. Just look at Europe and Japan.

Look at the stock market. The stock market is really high right now in a lot of different places. Why is it so high? Because a lot of this money went into debt which was borrowed to buy corporate stock, to buy the stock of banks, or to buy the banks themselves. That’s a major form of manipulation and deception as well.

Why is JP Morgan’s stock going up? Is it just because JP Morgan is such a great bank and so helping? Well, no. It’s because it received a lot of help from the Federal Reserve. It funneled that help into its own shares, and it has continued to pay settlements and be fined on egregious activity against its own clients, which are many because it’s the largest bank in the United States among the largest banks in the world.

There are multiple points of cheating and deception that have been enabled or that occur because of Central Banks policies. Some of those policies are secret; but a lot of them are public. You just have to piece the documents and the timelines together.

Central Banks Collusion: Global Debt Will Cause The Ultimate Destruction Of The System

nomiprins

Bestselling author Nomi Prins says the ultimate destruction of the economic system will be the global debt. Prins, who wrote the upcoming book titled Collusion: How Central Bankers Rigged the World, says that one tiny interest rate hike could destroy everything.

Prins says the debt is historically high, and that this will create untold problems whether governments want to admit it or not.  Politicians cannot keep spending imaginary money that they don’t have and neither can regular everyday Americans. In an interview with USAWatchdog‘s Greg Hunter, Prins takes us through what will likely happen to the economy and the reason for its failure.

“These are levels that they have never been, and they are all at their historic highs. That’s why debt will ultimately be the destructor of the system. In order for that to happen, the cheapness of money that allow states, municipalities and corporations to continue to borrow at these cheap levels has to go away. . . . At some point, there will be a mistake. There might be a tiny smidge of an interest rate hike at some central bank, probably the Fed, which ripples throughout the system as a mistake, not because real growth has happened, and that’s why interest rates have been raised. That will incur defaults throughout the system. People will incur personal defaults, and that will cause problems in the mortgage market . . . then it becomes a knock-on credit crisis, and then banks start not to lend . . . . Then we have the makings of a broad crisis.”  –Nomi Prins

Prins, who was also a top Wallstreet banker says central bankers have no idea how to stop the easy money policies that they started after the financial meltdown of 2008. Prins explains that the steps which were taken by central banks and governments after the 2008 collapse have only made matters worse.

“So, when the Fed says they are going to remove assets from their $4.5 trillion book by not reinvesting the interest payment . . . the reality is they haven’t really done that.  They have reduced their book by about $10 billion off of $4.5 trillion since they mentioned they were going to start ‘tapering.”  And the media discusses this as a major tightening move.  Somehow all of our economies have finally worked because of central bank activity.  Growth is real.  It’s all positive.  The markets are evidence of that because of the levels they are at; and, therefore, these central banks, starting with the Fed, are going to reverse course of these last 10 years.  The reality is if you look at the actual activity of the central banks, beyond the Fed raising rates by a little bit, there hasn’t been and there isn’t being a reversal of course becausethey are scared to death that too much of a reversal is going to cause a major crash throughout the financial system. Everything is connected.  All the banks are codependent. All the markets are codependent.  Money flows around the world in less than nanoseconds, and all of it has the propensity to collapse if that carpet the central banks have created is dragged from beneath the floor of all this activity.”

“There hasn’t been any real growth in the real economy.  That is an indication of the misfire of this entire plan.” -Nomi Prins

Hunter also asked Prins to explain a section of her book in which she describes the central bank as creating a “new, unstable, normal.” “What could go wrong?” asks Hunter.

“The reason this is unstable is because it’s all manufactured. This activity, the collusion between central banks is real. And the level of rates being low is real. And them having bought the assets in different asset classes is real. But what’s really mercurial and what’s really very dangerous and unstable in this new status quo is what could happen if any of them were to shift in a manner that spooks the markets out…central banks are trying to be very careful about their activities to avoid this scenario…the instability that could be incurred on the system is a byproduct of how much has been built up in terms of debt.”

And the central banks have no plan B for when their quantitative easing scheme fails. What will this crisis look like to the everyday person trying to get by?

“You start to not be able to take as much cash out of your bank account, ATM levels go down from like $500 for an extraction to maybe $2 [hundred] or so forth, you start to have Cypress type activity where financial systems and banks are trying to maintain the liquidity that they have to protect themselves and that has a knock on effect on individuals, that has a knock on effect to raising rates for credit cards, to student loan rates creeping up to auto loan rates creeping up. And that becomes then more expensive for people to deal with and to the extent that wages for any types of financial packages that people have with regular employers…then start to have problems making ends meet. It doesn’t take long to go from missing a credit card payment to being delinquent to defaulting on that card to having your credit score go down and so forth.”

Nomi Prins Warns Financial Crash From Epic Debt, Asset Bubbles "Possible In Last Quarter 2017"

Submitted by Mac Slavo via SHTFPlan.com,

Could there be a crash coming in 2017? Will increasing interest rates at the Federal Reserve trigger the beginning of the end?

It is possible, but not certain.

It will fall, perhaps, after a new sense of normal sets in, and some become comfortable with the change in leadership, and accustomed to drowning out the opposition yelling noisily from the other side. Expectations have been set for a growing economy, fresh infrastructure and new hopes for the average worker.

But getting too comfortable would be a huge mistake. All that could prove to be a mirage. And things could come crashing down.

Now that Donald Trump has been inaugurated as the 45th President, all eyes will be on his first 100 days as he demonstrates what kind of president he will be, and his cabinet takes action. But even with the best intentions and carefully laid plans, there is no telling at this point how firmly he will be tested, and what kind of crisis America will have to endure during his first term. Wars, terror attacks, civil unrest, debt crisis and financial collapse all loom overhead.

Many have seen dark signals about the immediate future, but no one can claim to know the timing.

However, former Wall Street banker and now best selling critic of the predatory financial system Nomi Prins sees the pattern unfolding, and fears that the end of 2017 may be the time that everyone has been watching for. At the center of it is the whiplash effect of Federal Reserve stimulus-withdrawal (i.e. rate hikes and the contraction of easy money).

Greg Hunter of USAWatchdog interviewed Nomi Prins:

Former top Wall Street banker and best-selling author Nomi Prins correctly predicted no financial crash for 2016. Prins’ upcoming book is titled “Artisans of Money.” It is all about central bank money creation. What does Prins say about this year? Prins predicts, “In 2016, I pegged the non-crash. . . . Central bankers were finding new ways to extend their money creation policies. That is what kept the markets up.

There was a separate bid on the markets after Trump was elected. It was on the expectation that he would be good for growth, that he would be good for infrastructure and that he would create jobs. I do think there is a little juice in the central banks. I keep thinking there shouldn’t be, but they keep surprising all of us with their ability to boost the markets. They have artificially stimulated so many different asset bubbles, whether it’s debt, which is epic, or stock markets, many of which are at historic highs. If we have a crash, it will be in the second half of 2017. The promises, the rate hikes, the dollar being high could collapse into the realities of the stability and this artificialness. I am not sure about a crash this year, but if we see a big decline, it will be in the last quarter.”

Prins foresees gold prices surging during this last quarter period of instability. Those who’ve been eating sinking gold prices may find some relief once again, but the larger economic system is in danger of crashing and burning, and the possibility that the dollar will lose out:

“I think with the expectation of things going well, the dollar will be keeping a bit of a bid. It will be within a range but staying fairly up. I think the dollar will turn around and weaken in the second half of the year. . . .That’s why, in the last half of the year, gold will catch more of a bid.”

Prins discussed the alliance between Russia and China and what is about to unfold geopolitically.

“Because Russia, Putin’s very smart. He’s not just waiting to see what happens with Trump and the U.S. You know, there’s been very favorable rhetoric so far, but, you know, that could be a wild card. Things could be changed.

Someone could get annoyed at someone else. So what he’s been doing, he’s been fortifying his relationship with Eastern Europe, his relationships with the UK, with Japan and particularly his relationship with China and the non-Russia BRICS countries. So all of this will be in flux…”

According to Nomi Prins, the crash wouldn’t be so much an immediate headline flashing-event, as it would be a steady decline and gradual sinking to the bottom.

Nomi Prins Explains The Central Bankers’ Game of Thrones

By James Corbett

Today James talks to Nomi Prins, author of books like All The Presidents Bankers, about her recent article “The Central Bank Power Shift from West to East, Game of Thrones Style.” We talk about the changing economic and monetary landscape and how the locus of central bank power is shifting to the East, with players like the People’s Bank of China gaining in prominence and former US/EU lapdogs like the IMF becoming brokers for these new power players in the new world financial order.
