Terror Cases In Germany Quadruple In One Year

More evidence revealing the ridiculousness of the centrist position on immigration – namely that refugees can be seamlessly integrated into European society without a spike in crime or terror – has emerged courtesy of the German newspaper Welt Am Sonntag which revealed Sunday that the number of terrorism-related cases investigated by German authorities has quadrupled over the past year.

Prosecutors have opened more than 900 cases so far this year, compared with just 240 throughout 2016, and 80 cases in 2013.

Germany’s federal police estimate 705 Islamist extremists willing to carry out terror attacks are active in the country, up from 600 during an estimate in February. Germany’s domestic intelligence agency recently said around 24,400 Islamists are active in the country but most of them don’t pose an immediate terror threat.

To be sure, the number of migrants applying for asylum in Germany plummeted to about 280,000 in 2016, about one-third the number from the prior year. But the increase in crime – coupled with the Christian Democratic Union’s embarrassing showing in federal elections last month – are slowly inspiring the country’s centrists to accept that more needs to be done to limit and control immigration in Europe’s largest economy.

According to the Daily Caller, Germany’s federal prosecutor’s office can’t keep up with the increase in the number of cases. To wit, nearly 300 cases have been transferred to the state level. Not all cases involve plans to carry out attacks. Migrants from Syran, Iraq and Afghanistan have been tried over alleged membership in terror groups without being suspected of planning attacks on European soil.

BKA chief Holger Münch told daily newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau in July that the danger from politically motivated far-right and far-left wing extremist is dwarfed by the threat posed by jihadis.

“In the left-wing scene, the [German] states have currently estimated a number that can be counted on the fingers of one hand,” Münch said. “In the right-wing scene, the number is in the low double digits.”

Frustration over this increase in crime manifested last month in the far-right Alternative for Germany party’s sweeping electoral triumph. The party, while still a minority, received 13% of the vote, earning it a place in Parliament – the first time a far-right party has held a spot in the legislature since World War II. It’s now the third strongest party in Germany, and has created a headache for Chancellor Angela Merkel by busting up her ruling coalition.

As Statista points out, perhaps key to understanding Germany’s tilt to the right is the indication that the majority of AfD voters say they made their decision not based on belief in the party, but rather as a reaction to their disappointment in the other parties – a dissatisfaction stemming from Merkel’s insistence on an “open doors” refugee policy that has been proven to be a failure.

Two years after the European Commission carried out the bidding of German Chancellor Angela Merkel by approving a plan to distribute migrants entering the Schengen area through Greece and Italy evenly across the European Union, the recent landslide victory of “Czech Donald Trump” Andrej Babis and his Eurosceptic and anti-establishment political party shows how disillusioned the people of Europe have become with “open doors.” Babis’s victory followed another important win by Austria"s young conservative star, Sebastian Kurz, who at 31 is now the youngest leader in Europe.

The reason for this populist surge? Well, it appears Europeans have begun to realize that Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic – three countries that refused to accept migrants under the EU plan – have suffered far fewer terror attacks, as the map below shows.

Holland's Wilders Slams "Moroccan Scum" As Paris Over-run By Antifa

Following the under-reported chaos in Paris this week, as muslims and Antifa took over the streets following allegations of police brutality, Holland"s outspoken anti-immigrant, anti-EU party leader Geert Wilders promised to crack down on "Moroccan scum" who he said were making the streets unsafe and urged the Dutch to "regain" their country as he launched his election campaign on Saturday.

Wilders was, as Reuters reports, surrounded by police and security guards during a walkabout in Spijkenisse, part of the ethnically diverse industrial area surrounding the vast port of Rotterdam and a stronghold of his Freedom Party.

"Not all are scum, but there is a lot of Moroccan scum in Holland who makes the streets unsafe," he told reporters, speaking in English.

"If you want to regain your country, if you want to make the Netherlands for the people of the Netherlands, your own home, again, then you can only vote for one party."

Crime by young Moroccans was not being taken seriously, added Wilders, who in December was convicted of inciting discrimination for leading supporters in a chant that they wanted "Fewer! Fewer! Fewer!" Moroccans in the country.

Wilders - who has lived in hiding since an Islamist murdered Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh in 2004 - pledges to ban Muslim immigration, close all mosques and take the Netherlands out of the European Union.

While muslims, Black Lives Matter (France), and ANTIFA have been waging a continuous battle on the streets of Paris for several years now, Wilders" comments this past week come after the riots have escalated, and many areas, particularly the 18th Arrondissement, have become no-go zones for citizens, police, and medical professionals. The excuse this time was the false allegation that a Muslim Youth had been gang raped by Police.

Wilders hopes a global upsurge in anti-establishment feeling that has already helped to propel Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency and to persuade Britons to vote to quit the European Union will propel him to power in the March 15 parliamentary election.

A win for Wilders would boost French far-right leader Marine Le Pen and the Alternative for Germany party, both hoping to transform European politics in elections this year.

"Despite all the hate and fear-mongering of the elite both in Britain and Brussels, people took their fate in their own hands," he said. "I think that will happen in Holland, in France, Austria and in Germany."

Wilders" party leads in opinion polls with 17 percent, a whisker ahead of the pro-business Liberals of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Famous market forecaster Martin Armstrong wrote a recent article describing the current situation in Europe. Similar to our article, “Trouble Brewing in the EU”, the Armstrong"s piece discusses growing discontent and fractures in the E.U. Martin Armstrong observes that,

“The EU leadership is really trying to make Great Britain pay dearly for voting to exit the Community. Like the socialists in American, it’s our way or no way. The left may call the right the “deplorables” but the left are the “intolerables” who refuse to ever consider they might be wrong.”

Brexit was one of the most shocking events of 2016 that the mainstream media pundits failed to predict. The British people choose to leave the E.U. because they were tired of the bureaucrats in Belgium dominating their lives. As we have reported on in prior articles, the EU parliament influences 70 to 80% of the laws passed in each country of the EU. The globalist agenda is having a far larger impact on Europe than it currently does on the United States. Martin Armstrong continues,

“The EU constantly repeated motto of a federalized Europe will less the risk of war but nobody else takes this seriously outside of Brussels. The “European Project” is creating the resentment that fuels war. With this policy in place, the Community has refused to listen to anyone but themselves. This has led to small issues festering and creating resentment which grows into a huge problem and Brexit that has spun Frexit and all the rest.”

Tensions Building

Tensions in the E.U. began in 2008 with the U.S. housing crisis. Declines in asset values across the globe resulted in the collapse of Iceland’s banking system and quickly spread to Greece, Ireland and Portugal during 2009. What started out as a banking crisis in the periphery markets quickly became the European Sovereign Debt crisis. By the end of 2009 Portugal, Cyprus, Ireland, Spain and Greece were all unable to refinance their sovereign debts.

E.U. members such as Germany and France suddenly found themselves responsible for picking up the debts of the poorer E.U. members. The bureaucrats in Belgium also mandated austerity on the struggling nations which contributed significantly to discontent in the E.U. The crisis calmed down in 2012 due to massive interventions from the European Central Bank. The actions failed to spur growth in the continent but did help to address investor’s concerns around solvency.

Rise of the Conservative Parties

The years following the crisis saw the creation of conservative leaning political parties, very similar to the rise of the Tea Party in the U.S. In 2012 the Greek nationalist party Golden Dawn went from 0 to 21 seats in Greek Parliament. The Alternative for Germany party started in 2013 as a protest movement against the Euro.

Another turning point in the E.U. were the events following the Arab Spring. As revolution spread throughout the Middle East millions of immigrants entered the E.U. seeking asylum. Here is a chart showing the growth of net migration into Germany over the last 10 years.

Immigrants in Europe have posed a significant challenge for the continent. The globalists want to seem welcoming and accepting despite the fact that Muslim communities in Germany have refused to assimilate into Germany culture. The Economist recently featured a prominent German - Muslim professor who fears that Syrian migrants will fail to assimilate.

“Recently, he spoke with ten young Syrians. ‘Two of them spoke German, were doing well, and reminded me of myself back then,’ he says. ‘The other eight were telling me that ‘Allah gave us Germany as a refuge, not the Germans’.’ Most Syrians and other Muslims, he now thinks, will never integrate, instead retreating into misogynistic, anti-Semitic and anti-democratic worldviews and segregating themselves in radicalized enclaves.”

The worries are real. At the end of 2015 on New Years Eve gangs of migrants sexually assaulted an estimated 1,200 women in cities across Germany. In Bavaria a Syrian refugee blew himself up in a concert injuring 15 people. According to the Economist the German government has even admitted that it,

“knows of 340 cases in which Islamic extremists have infiltrated refugee camps in search of recruits.”

Small Government Solution

Martin Armstrong doesn’t propose a solution and we would argue that the only solution for the E.U. is to let the union fail. The bureaucrats will fight until the end so that they can maintain power. The media will continue to claim that the E.U. is the only thing keeping the continent from breaking out into war. The reality is that the E.U. and its policies are pushing these nations farther apart.

The quicker that the E.U. dissolves the faster each of these countries can focus on its own priorities. Nations are unique and different cultures value different things. The failure of the E.U. is not a failure of modern society. The globalists are naïve. They believe that one all-powerful entity is the ideal form of government. Small government has been proven to be the safest way to rule. Every nation including the United States should consider the success of Switzerland and its small government. They provide the ideal example of democracy in action and how to rid society of bureaucratic corruption.
