After the failed attempt by the Leftist propagandists at the Chronicle “newspaper” to have Oath Keepers bounced from the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a dozen smiling pair of Oath Keeping eyes were back for the second year to represent the Orange County Chapter of Oath Keepers on a perfect sunny day in Goshen, NY this past Sunday.
Earlier in the week, Chapter Co-Leader Chip Murray had been contacted by a reporter from the Chronicle to do a story on the Oath Keepers. Murray realized the reporter’s motive seconds into the call after the reporter brought up the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Within minutes after the interview, Murray received another call…this time from a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Parade Committee who had just received a call from the same newspaper, threatening to disrupt the parade with demonstrations if Oath Keepers were allowed to march. Fortunately, the committeewoman was a longtime friend of Murray’s. Murray suggested that he and his Co-Leader and fellow Irishman Matt McDonnell would be delighted to meet with the committee to educate them on the nefarious background of the SPLC, and the history of the late John Wallace’s successful efforts to have NY Oath Keepers exonerated from their libelous and malicious smear attack last summer.
Chip and Matt met with the committee this past Tuesday. The committee voted unanimously in favor of keeping Oath Keepers in the parade after an FBI agent gave them his positive testimony in support of the organization…and then awarded Murray and McDonnell with a lovely pair of pints of Murphy’s Irish Stout.
Joining Murray and McDonnell on the Sunday March were Matt’s wife Kelly, Bret Hamilton, Bill Banuchi, David Green, Kenn and Cathy Sapeta, Kathy Zebzda, Ed Durfee, Jim Breheny, Angela Desmond, and videographer Mert Melfa. They were greeted by warm crowds with cheers, thumbs-up, and expressions of gratitude throughout the entire parade route, and invited back to the AOH Lodge to join in their post-parade festivities.

Overly aggressive trick or treaters have brought an end to a holiday tradition in West Chester, Penn.
Halloween Parade participants will no longer be able to toss candy to kids because – officials fear — they might fight over the candy and get hurt.
“They won’t have to struggle with other children who are trying to get the same thing,” Keith Kurowski, the director of the West Chester Parks and Recreation, told The Daily Local.

Instead, candy will be handed out at four “distribution stations” to make sure every kid gets his or her fair share.
Kurowski blamed kids who were “overly aggressive getting to the freebies” for the change in procedure. Around 1,000 people usually take part in the parade, which has attracted up to 5,000 spectators in the past. Candy remains a big part of the fun.
“Candy is still going to be distributed on Halloween and for public safety reasons and the safety of our children it will be distributed differently,” Mayor Jordan Norley said. “Nonetheless, our children are going to have more sweets than they can eat.”

The promise of an original poem about Ireland opened Kate Malone’s heart to open the door to the NY Oath Keepers to march in the 2017 Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and celebration of the 100th Birthday of our NY State Police! Thanks to John Wallace’s coordination efforts, and in spite of frigid mid-twenty temperatures and biting winds, we were well-represented by 18 wonderful Oath Keepers and a GREAT photographer! 6 from the Columbia/Albany area, 10 from the Orange County Chapter, and 2 from Bergen County.
The warm reception and brotherhood we felt from the State Police, the NYPD, Local Police, and Sheriff’s Department, made the freezing cold much easier to bear. Sheriff Carl Dubois actually walked our ranks to personally greet and shake the hand of every single Oath Keeper. According to one of my clients who happens to be a former parade Grand Marshall and current board member, political groups…were denied permits to march. You won’t see anything but American Flags, Shamrocks, Irish colors and smiling patriotic faces in the many wonderful photographs taken by Lois Dysard. We made a lot of friends and handed out our Oath Keeper cards all along the parade route. The poem that got us there [is posted below].
