Kasich’s Renewed Betrayal Foreshadows Establishment GOP Retreat on Guns

“Republican” Kasich proves once a betrayer, always a betrayer.

“If all the sudden you couldn’t buy an AR-15, what would you lose?” Ohio Republican Governor John Kasich asked on CNN, talking about new citizen disarmament edicts he’d favor in the wake of the Stoneman atrocities. “Would you feel your Second Amendment rights would be eroded because you couldn’t buy a God-darned AR-15?”

Feelings would have nothing to do with it, even though his came through loud and clear. The unconstitutional infringement to “the birthright of an American” would be demonstrable, not that those intent on seeing their countrymen disarmed ever let evidence get in the way of stirring up a mob mentality.

BFFs John and Bill…

In Kasich’s case, it was no surprise.  As a congressman, he was one of 46 Republican members who helped pass the 1994 semi-auto ban by a narrow 216-214 vote margin, putting him on a first-name basis with Bill Clinton.  Then, when running for governor and needing the votes, he “convinced” (a more than willing) NRA to change his “F” to an “A,” paying them back with “good” gun actions as long as he felt pandering to Ohio gun owners was in his political interests.

Having almost screwed all gun owners over big time by attacking candidate Donald Trump during his post-primaries presidential campaign and thus working to Hillary Clinton’s political advantage, Kasich has irredeemably sided with “the swamp,” and evidently figures he has nothing to lose by reverting to form. And he never “got it” anyway. The stated purpose behind his public ambivalence to a proposed “Obama gun ban” was because “it wasn’t effective,” not because it was an affront to freedom and a gross betrayal of his oath of office.

When it comes to doing the Democrat’s work for them, Kasich is hardly alone, and we’ll see more defections the hotter things get politically and the faint of heart feeling it opt for appeasement.

So we see Florida Rep. Francis Rooney now saying “some freedoms are going to have to be given up” and speculating that some of those surrendered freedoms probably entail more gun bans.  When asked if there’s a reason “a private citizen needs to own an AR-15 assault rifle.” Rooney responded:

“To be honest with you, I’m not sure. I think people should be able to use them in gun ranges if they want to go rip off a lot of caps, if you will, at a gun range. But, do they need to own them and take them out of the facility? I’m not sure.”

And there are others coming out of the woodwork, some being more cautions with their virtue signaling. Mitt Romney is being careful at present not to repeat his past support for banning semi-autos, so aside from saying he’d “probably be OK with a prior restraint background check “enhancement” by Orrin Hatch (that he hasn’t read yet), he’s recommending things advance at the state level – pretty much the “3,000 Tyrants” strategy the gun-grabbers are using as long as federal incursions are being blocked.

Which may not be for that much longer. Donald Trump is supporting background check “improvements” and just instructed AG Sessions to find a way to make “bump stocks” illegal. And while it’s easy to put all the blame for betrayal on him, don’t forget who gave him the green light to ignore “shall not be infringed” on both counts. NRA and NRA.

Add to that a billionaire Republican donor making it clear that unless candidates betray their oaths and their constituents, he’ll risk letting their seats fall to Democrats.

What do grassroots activist gun owners do about being increasingly abandoned by those they have supported and empowered? First of all, realize that it’s probably going to get worse.

And imagine, with the frenzy the country is in now, what the political mood (and the spines of Republican politicians) will be like the next time there’s another “gun free zone” massacre — especially if it’s an even bigger one. No doubt there are some not averse to that.

We must keep presenting truths to counter a media that has a voice dwarfing ours, finding those receptive to it, and recruiting them to join with us. And ultimately we must remember that – all the noise aside in order to be disarmed we must make the choice to surrender.

Ellison Goes Full Subversive Promoting Antifa

Ellison is not just some obscure outlier — he’s a major player in the national Democrat Party with the backing of its leadership.

“Lawmaker” Ellison embraces “revolutionary” collectivist lawbreakers.“Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee, caused a stir on social media Wednesday when he posed with a book promoting the violent ‘Antifa’ movement,” Fox News reports. “In a post on Twitter, Ellison said that he found the book “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook” at a Minneapolis book shop and said it would ‘strike fear in the heart of @realDonaldTrump.’”

That’s doubtful, especially since if the domestic enemies are anything like their foreign counterparts, they’re more contemptible and failed man-children than anything else. The only reason they get away with their crap is because the system they want to destroy doesn’t typically roll tanks over dissenters. Those like them are the ones who do Killing Fields after they slaughter their way to power.

Besides, Trump is an avatar for those who voted for him because they believe in the issues he campaigned on. Ellison means to strike fear in their hearts.

So it’s no surprise that he would add support for frustrated, raging and violent vandals to his list of allies hostile to the Republic from which sprang the Bill of Rights. Or that he was the first choice of Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid to head the DNC.

They did that knowing Ellison is a leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. And the Caucus (with Ellison specifically identified) maintains “ties” with the Communist Party USA and “close ties” with another “progressive” group, the Democratic Socialists of America, the domestic arm of Socialist International. The DSA devoted a page on their website (until they took it down to try to hide it—this link  goes to the Internet Archive record, which they can’t erase) to hymns glorifying their “struggle.”

The following examples should be of special interest, since the people they’re talking about are pretty much you and me:

Too many of our countrymen still are sleeping. What will you do today to help wake them up? And tomorrow and the next day…?

Naturally, such people can’t be armed if the revolution is to succeed. Ellison has a plan for that, too. His response to being asked why the Democrat Party doesn’t “come out against the Second Amendment”:

“I sure wish they would. I sure wish they would.”

Americans who regard the Constitution as a superior mechanism for advancing individual rights than Islam, which Ellison also embraces,  are smeared as members of “extremist anti-government movements.” And speaking of which, just what the hell was Ellison swearing to when he placed his hand on Thomas Jefferson’s Koran and swore an oath?  And do we all know what Jefferson understood about the implications to freedom based on real-world experience?

Not exactly friendly to the “no law respecting an establishment of religion”proscription, is it?

Of course, Marxism brooks no competition as well, and Ellison has positioned himself to ride either horse. Still, in a way his being so over-the-top in his radical departure from traditional “red state” America can be used to advantage by showing people that as deputy chair of the DNC, he’s not just an outlier. He represents the leadership of the Democrat Party. It’s more than simply “our friends across the aisle” with whom we can “agree to disagree.”

These people mean to rule, and ultimately, only one thing will stand in their way. That would be those of us retaining the means and the will to prevent it.

Expect Agenda-Advancing Activism from Anti-Gun Judge Reviewing Hillary Clinton Emails

Clinton-appointee Colleen Kollar-Kotelly thinks environmentalcase concerns trump your right to life. What are the odds she’ll give conservatives a legal boost against Hillary Clinton? (The Historical Society of the District of Columbia Circuit)

“A federal judge in the nation’s capital will personally review redacted material from emails that discuss Hillary Clinton’s use of unsecure iPads and iPhones during her tenure as secretary of state,” WND.com reported. “Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly will determine whether or not the Trump administration can withhold evidence that could shed light on accusations Clinton and her staff mishandled classified information.”

It’s part of a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch following the administration’s refusal to respond to a Freedom of Information Act Request. That means Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in protecting their fiefdoms, are also giving Clinton cover.

And in this case, be surprised if the judge doesn’t follow suit. It won’t be the first time a federal judge has done so.

Aside from being former Presiding Judge of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (which carries its own troubling Constitutional considerations), Kollar-Kotelly has shown herself to be a “progressive” activist when it comes to infringing on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

She was the Bill Clinton-appointed judge (no conflict of interest there!) who – before Congress acted on a rider to a credit card bill to make it “legal” – ruled that a Bush administration rule to allow concealed carry in national parks could not be implemented until an environmental impact study had been conducted. She issued a preliminary injunction in a memorandum opinion siding with the Brady Campaign.

Put another way, she unilaterally decided your life and your rights were less important than the off-chance you might fire your gun in self-defense and accidentally threaten an endangered species animal, or perhaps cause other damage by adding a minuscule amount of lead to the environment. And that’s in spite of case after documented case of threats to life in national parks that were known at the time.

As an aside, the Obama administration enacted plenty of rules allowing for illegal aliens and “refugees” to come into the country and to spread their populations throughout. This causes very real additional environmental stresses and demands in terms of energy, water, food, resources, waste disposal, etc., and yet the influx has been added without a realistic assessment to let the American people know what their “leaders” are committing them to deal with.

The odds have to be greater than those of hitting a spotted owl during a defensive gun use.

It’s fair to wonder — if the Bradys had standing to sue over guns in parks — who would have standing to sue over the engineered invasion of foreign nationals? And to wonder if Kollar-Kotelly would find a contradictory rationale if “progressive” goals were at stake…?

Who wants to bet she’ll let Judicial Watch endanger Hillary?
