Also, all too often, these tactics involve killing innocent people. A video submitted to the Free Thought Project this week shows just how insane those tactics can be and also just how close a man came to losing his life.
Bikers and cops have a sordid history and often times, when they meet face to face, police will resort to childish road rage tactics. The case in the video below is no different. However, it could’ve resulted in the senseless death of a man on a motorcycle.
It is important to note that motorcycle groups driving recklessly around high-traffic areas present a danger to themselves and those around them. That being said, the situation is not made any safer when a cop employs deadly force to stop it. However, that is exactly what happened.

The video shows a motorcyclist doing a wheelie on Tramway Saturday afternoon when a BCSO patrol car pulls alongside him. A passenger deputy can be see drawing his gun and aiming it at the motorcyclist as the two vehicles go through an intersection.
BCSO confirmed that is the deputy’s service weapon – not a taser. BCSO says deputies received several calls Saturday of this group of roughly 50 bikers racing and driving recklessly in the Heights.
Deputies says what’s not shown in this video is the bikers flashing gang signs and surrounding deputies as they tried to pull them over.
According to police, positioning one’s fingers in a certain way, to form what they call a ‘gang sign’ is somehow a threat to one’s life. According to their statement, these hand gestures caused the deputies to ‘fear for their lives’ and so one of them pulled out his pistol — out of fear, of course.

Deputy Felicia Maggard, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s spokeswoman never once said the deputy was wrong for pulling his gun and only noted that the gang signs made them think they were under attack.
“The motorcycles completely surrounded their patrol unit and began directing what deputies know to be gang related signs in their direction,” Maggard said. The horror.
The video does not show any of this, however. It only shows the cruiser speed up to the back of a biker who was riding a wheelie and threaten to kill him by pulling out his gun and aiming it at him.
While this act may seem crazy or rare, TFTP has reported on similar instances before.
Earlier this year, a video went viral after it showed a Chicago cop walking into the street and lob his piping hot cup of coffee into the face of a motorcyclist. The man on the bike goes by Elijah Bling on Facebook and the officer’s crime was captured on his helmet cam.
In March of last year, Fort Worth police confirmed that one of their officers was under investigation after a video was uploaded to Facebook showing him pepper spray innocent people as they drove by on motorcycles. In August, the Department quietly released a statement noting that they will not discipline the officer involved.
After Fort Worth police officer William Figueroa was seen shooting out pepper spray into the faces of motorcyclists as they drove by on a busy highway, he was placed on paid vacation pending an internal investigation. The investigation wrapped up in June. However, investigators left it up to Figueroa’s bosses to decide what, if any, punishment he would receive. He received nothing.

Baltimore, MD — (RT) Southwest Airlines has apologized to a passenger after video of the woman being dragged off a flight by law enforcement officers went viral.
The woman was removed from the plane after she told flight crew that she had a pet allergy upon hearing there were animals on board.
According to the airline there was an emotional support animal and one pet on the flight from Baltimore to Los Angeles International Airport.
When the passenger could not provide any medical certificates to backup her claim, airline staff asked her to leave and called in Transportation Authority officers when she refused to comply.

Footage recorded by a fellow passenger Bill Dumas shows the officers forcibly removing the woman while she protests loudly, explaining she is flying to see her Dad who is having surgery.
Dumas told NBC that the woman claimed she had a “deadly allergy” to dogs and asked that the two animals on board be removed.
The passenger, who claimed to be a professor, is also heard accusing the officers of “ripping (her) pants” and shouting “don’t touch me” as one officer wraps his arms around her while he pulls her up the aisle.
At one point in the clip he repeatedly shouts “walk” before pushing her towards a row of seats.
Officers and members of the crew can also be heard in the video telling passengers attempting to record the scene to put their phones away.
Southwest Airlines offered a public apology to the woman and said they would contact her directly, however they reiterated that she did not have the proper medical certificate to stay on board.

“Our policy states that a customer (without a medical certificate) may be denied boarding if they report a life-threatening allergic reaction and cannot travel safely with an animal on board. “
“Our flight crew made repeated attempts to explain the situation to the customer, however, she refused to deplane and law enforcement became involved,” a Southwest Airlines spokesman said in a statement.
Louisville, KY — A Kentucky State Trooper on a power trip allegedly got violent with a road construction crew over the weekend. However, as the video of incident shows, unlike most scenarios with cops on power trips, it was the Trooper who got taken down, not the citizens.
According to video and the witness accounts from the road crew, Trooper Anthony Harrison punched a worker and put them all in danger as he drove through a construction site Sunday night.
According to the crew, Harrison drove too fast toward their work zone near Fort Knox about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, adding that he stopped his personal car abruptly, confronted the workers and started arguing.
Two of the workers told WDRB that Harrison was angry about not seeing the crew and their equipment in a closed-off and marked traffic lane.
In the video, Harrison is seen yelling at one of the workers over their disagreement and gets belligerent with the woman who asks him not to yell at her.

“Don’t yell at me,” the woman says.
“I will yell at you!” Harrison barks back as he tries to intimidate her. “Or what!?”
Harrison flashed his badge and let it be known that he was a trooper, however, he still got unnecessarily violent.
When Harrison noticed that he was being recorded, he became even more enraged. He then appears to attack the man filming and at this point, all hell breaks loose.
“Me pulling the phone and filming him, that just sent him over the top,” said Joey Gaddis, who shot the video. “He lunged at me for the phone. I felt like he was trying to grab at my neck.”

At this point, the crew takes Harrison down and disarms him in a citizen’s arrest as they called the police. The crew’s level of force appeared to be entirely justified and kept to a minimum, only using enough force to hold Harrison down. Unlike many police officers would’ve done in this scenario, no head strikes, baton blows, or tasers were used to subdue the officer.
“That badge doesn’t give the right to get in someone’s face like that,” the woman said as they held down Harrison.
The crew then continued to hold Harrison down, without incident, until police officers arrived. However, once police arrived everything changed — they let him go.
Gaddis explained that once the other troopers showed up, they immediately moved to protect their brother in blue by treating the road workers as the criminals.
“It seemed like we were in the wrong. That’s the way we felt,” he said. “They lined us all up in a row to take pictures of us like we jumped out of the car on him.”
According to WDRB, KSP said they’ve started an internal affairs investigation and that what’s on the video does not reflect the image the department strives for with the public.
“Obviously, it is concerning what we see on the video,” said Lt. Michael Webb, a spokesperson for KSP. “However, I would caution any of the viewers who see that video to allow us to conduct our internal investigation to its final stages and follow the facts to where they will take us.”
The most disconcerting aspect of this scenario is that had Harrison been a regular citizen and not a cop the result would’ve played out much differently.

Pittsburg, PA — A horrifying video posted to Facebook this week is now going viral as it shows several police officers savagely beating a seemingly non-violent man.
“It made me sick to my stomach watching it,” said Joce Smith, who posted the video to Facebook after she says her cousin filmed it and sent it to her.
In the video, we see five Pittsburg officers conducting a violent detainment of two men, David Jones, 34, who was the man already in handcuffs, and Daniel T. Alderman, 47, who was the man having his head repeatedly smashed into the ground and punched by the officers.
According to city public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler, Jones was wanted on a warrant for forgery and had previously fled officers during their first attempt to serve him.
“As officers were taking Jones into custody, a man later identified as [Alderman] attempted to interfere with the arrest,” she said. “He was forcibly taken into custody and is in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrests, and public drunkenness.”

While the interference in the arrest was not shown in the video, the extremely brutal response was, and it shows excessive force, the likes of which equate to Rodney King.
As the video begins, a plainclothes officer is on top of Alderman repeatedly striking him in his head as he yells, “stop resisting!”
Alderman does not appear to be fighting back in any way and only appears to be defending his head from the strikes. After delivering multiple blows to his head, the officer then grabs Alderman by the hair and smashes his face into the concrete over and over as one of the officers yells, “Shut up you fucker! Who the fuck are you?!”

Alderman is on all fours and the only likely reason he’s not prostrating himself to be handcuffed is that he doesn’t want to be killed by having his face smashed in.
The plainclothes officer then yells, “Use your fucking taser Bobby!” as the officer down on the ground pulls his taser and attempts to deploy it.
“Push the fucking button! God Damn!” the order-barking cop says to the officer who, apparently, is having a hard time deploying his taser.
While the cops keep beating and shocking him, Alderman is repeating, “I was only trying to help you,” apparently trying to explain to the officers the reason for his interference.
At this point, after one officer is unable to deploy his taser, the plainclothes cop takes his fellow cop’s taser out and deploys it into Alderman back causing him to collapse onto the pavement. He is then placed in handcuffs.
As the Post-Gazette reports, Ms. Toler said the city police bureau began an internal review Wednesday of the use of force. The city’s Office of Municipal Investigations and Office of Professional Services are reviewing the incident as well, she said.
Elizabeth Pittinger, executive director of the Citizen Police Review Board, said her office has opened an inquiry into the incident as well, according to the Post.
“I think it’s very unfortunate that whatever the facts were, it will be colored by their language and their ferocious efforts to take this person into control,” she said.
“For the public to see these officers engaged in that type of violence is disconcerting, it’s always disconcerting,” she said. “It might have been less offensive if the language didn’t enhance the entire thing.”

While the language was certainly obscene, you can watch this video below on mute and it will still turn your stomach.
The incident happened late Tuesday night and, according to Toler, none of the officers involved in this horrific act have been placed on leave. They are all currently on active duty. Pittsburgh citizens, beware.
Indianapolis, IN — In the land of the free, police claim the right to detain and extort you for failing to signal a turn in your vehicle. If you do not immediately comply with said detainment, police will claim the right to use violence and often deadly force against you to carry out this extortion. Kim Townsend learned this the hard way.
Townsend, who was beat to a bloody and severly injured pulp during a traffic stop last year has filed a federal lawsuit against Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The lawsuit claims police used excessive force during an arrest on January 6, 2016. The horrifying arrest was captured on video.
“All I know is that I was on the ground,” said Townsend, after she was tackled for failing to stop for police trying to pull her over for failing to use her turn signal.
“I felt a punch in the back of my head. I felt a kick to my face and someone stepping on my hands and feet,” said Townsend.

FOX 59 was given video of the arrest by Townsend’s attorney, Greg Kulis of Gregory E. Kulis & Associates Ltd, who says the use of force by police was unnecessary, unreasonable and unprovoked.
“This is a matter where you have trained law enforcement that acted in a totally outrageous manner,” said Kulis. And outrageous it was.
“Police officers grab her in a very forceful manner and throw her to the pavement like she is a rag doll. As a result, Kim was seriously injured,” said Kulis.
As the video shows, police officers tackle Townsend, sending her smashing into a door before she is violently thrown to the ground. As the officer is throwing her down, he positions his knee in her gut sending all 200 pounds of his body weight into a single painful blow.

Townsend was not resisting, and in fact, appeared to be unconscious for a spell as other officers joined in on the melee. She was kicked, kneed, punched, and the life nearly squeezed out of her as police piled on top to make sure they let her know that trying to avoid extortion for a turn signal violation would be met with extreme force.
Naturally, police will claim this insane escalation of force was necessary because Townsend failed to immediately stop and led police on a 5 mile long chase through town as she made her way to her house.
According to the police report, Townsend stopped her car in the alleyway at the Julian Center on North Meridian and got out of her car. Investigators say she tried to run inside of that building, FOX 59 reports.
“I was not running away from them. That is where I lived,” said Townsend.
As a result of the brutal beat down given to her by police—over failing to use a turn signal—Townsend suffered torn ligaments, knocked out teeth, and a fractured bone in her face. Townsend is suing for compensation for medical bills, which have exceeded $80,000, and is currently facing charges of resisting law enforcement and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator.
“I’m just trying to take it one day at a time to build my life back up,” she told FOX 59.
According to the news outlet, they reached out to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and IMPD about the case and asked them to review the surveillance video with us and provide an on-camera interview or written statement. Both departments say they do not comment on pending litigation.

Below is a video that perfectly illustrates the nature of the state. Violence is their only tool and if 100 percent compliance is not immediately given, this tool will be used over and over again.
Remember, as you watch the disturbing footage below that this woman had not harmed another individual, she had not stolen, nor damaged anyone’s property. All this force was escalated and carried out over a turn signal.
Loudoun County, VA — Ordinary citizens sometimes complain when police intimidate or harass them, often with damaging emotional outcomes. Knowing what to do when one suspects they are being harassed by police is not always as easy as filing a complaint with the local police department. However, a recently uploaded YouTube video shows citizens just how easy it is to put stalker cops in their place.
An unnamed grocery store employee had worked a full shift and was attempting to enjoy a smoke break when a Loudoun County sheriff’s deputy approached him.
The young officer asked, “How are you doing today? I saw you filming me,” presuming the man was interested in filming only the officer waiting in his cruiser in the Giant parking lot for more than 4 minutes. The stare down ended with the officer making contact with the citizen who promptly told him, “I don’t have to answer any of your questions.”
The officer could have easily turned and walked away and left the man alone. Instead, he continued to press for more information and, in the minds of many who have seen the video, he escalated an unnecessary police contact. “Is there any issue? Are you doing okay?” the officer asked, pretending to care about the man
The seasoned cop watcher calmly and collectively replied, “I’m doing okay.” Again the officer pressed with more interrogatives. “Do you work for Giant?” he asked, to which the man responded, “I don’t have to answer any of your questions.“

The unrelenting officer, who apparently was paranoid with a citizen’s right to film in public, again asked if the man was a Giant employee. The worker did not have to answer any questions, but gave a few tidbits of information indicating that he worked at the store, he was just having a smoke break, and he did not want to be bothered by any more of the officer’s questions.

As The Free Thought Project has reported, officers will often pretend to care about someone’s mental stability as a legal way of detaining suspects “for their own safety.” In this case, the Virginia cop said he just wanted to see if the man was “okay” or not.
“I’m standing up. I’m standing up. I’m standing straight up. Nothing wrong,” the man said, showing the officer he was not afraid of him, was complying with all of the local laws, and was not going to be intimidated.
The officer replied, “You can do what you want” — that is, apparently, everything but go about one’s day without having to be forced to interact with a seemingly paranoid cop who cannot possibly allow a citizen to film the public servant conducting his public business in the middle of the day.
Adding more comedic value to the encounter, the officer then began to explain the paranoia, by saying he noticed the man “staring” at him so he “circled back around” to investigate. “It kinda made me a bit nervous,” the officer said.
“Yep. I’m sure it did. I’m sure it did (make you nervous). Two people going to get a cigarette probably does make you real suspicious,” the man replied sarcastically.
The man then got the upper hand on the police officer, who had since called for backup. Apparently, the two men smoking outside of Giant raised enough suspicion to invest the time and money into having a second officer arrive on scene.

The man then flipped the script on the officer and explained that he watched the officer stop and wait, then circle around and park and watch them as they got their cigarettes, and again stared them down. He asked the officer, “Why should we be nervous?” indicating the actions of the officer were much more suspicious than a couple of dudes getting some cigs after a long day of work.
The cop then explained that he had the probable cause to investigate the men saying he “absolutely” got a call that the men were being suspicious, but later in the video, he admitted he received no such call. In other words, he lied.
The backup officer arrived and asked if the man had been drinking. The man replied by saying he had been at work since 7 a.m. He demonstrated his discontent with the officers’ line of questioning and inquired as to why the officers “are still talking” to him.
“I knew stuff like this happens. I just watch my back like you watch yours,” the man said, explaining why he was filming the officers.
“We’re not trying to mess with you or anything like that,” the officer says, but suggests it is part of his job to investigate citizens when they are filming him. Nothing could be further from the truth. His job is to make sure no one infringes on the rights of citizens to engage in their First Amendment rights to free speech, which includes being able to film in public.

“Okay. But nobody called you on me though,” the man said. It is at this point that the officer makes himself out to be a liar because he earlier told the man he “absolutely” got a call.
“I don’t want to be recording you just like I don’t want to be standing here talking to you right now,” the man said. And with that, the paranoid cop and his sidekick finally walked away, and let the two men return to work.
