80-Year-Old Man Greets Child In Grocery, Gets Visit From Police
Simply talking to a strange child in public can lead to a police visit in Australia. An 80-year-old man was stopped by a plainclothes police officer and then visited at his home by two detectives — simply because he chatted with a boy at the supermarket.
The unidentified man stopped to speak kindly with a young boy and put his hand on the boy’s shoulder in September, the mom wrote in a now-public letter. That simple act – common in grocery stores across America – led to the mom reporting the elderly man. A policeman talked to the man in the parking lot.
Put God Back Into History And Teach Your Kids What They Won’t Learn Anywhere Else!
A few days later, two police detectives appeared at the man’s home in Winmalee, New South Wales, to question him. The detectives showed up unannounced, even though they admitted that surveillance camera footage verified the man had done nothing wrong.
The letter was first discovered taped to the wall of a shopping center in Winmalee. It was written by the man’s daughter, who noted that older people “take joy” in talking to young people.
“I cannot express how much your action of alarm has struck at the confidence of an older man,” the letter states. “His expression of goodwill undone by an overly zealous parent, who did not have the courage to speak of their opinion directly to my father, or guide the child away, or to join in and add to the conversation.
“Instead, you covertly and unnecessarily inform authorities,” it continues. “About what, I do not know. We were all strangers once to others we now know — overcome through communication skills, learned and improved by conversing with an array of persons.
“And a closed, dysfunctional society is formed of reading too much into a situation, and acting on exaggerated thought and impulsive negative action, rather than that of a considered positive outlook.”

Cops Arrest 12yo Disabled Boy in His Underwear, Raid His Home, Injuring Him

Lehigh Acres, FL — Sophia Gordon’s 12-year-old son Noah suffers from a traumatic brain injury. His symptoms are similar to that of someone on the autism spectrum, according to his mother. However, this had no bearing on the police officers’ decision to charge into their home last week and arrest the mentally challenged child.
Gordon tells Fox 4 news that Lee County sheriff’s deputies were searching for alleged statue vandals when her son Noah ran out of the house in his underwear.
“They accused my son because they saw him running,” said Gordon. “The first officer grabbed him on the shoulder. My son reluctantly grabbed the officers hand for him to let go.”
This reaction from Noah was apparently perceived as a threat by the officer who then called for backup. However, according to Gordon, his reaction was due to his traumatic brain injury last year which required several surgeries and has left him in a diminished mental state. According to Gordon he still suffers from side effects from his traumatic injury that are similar to that of autism.
Advertisment
“He does have a traumatic brain injury, so the tendency is more of autism. He doesn’t like being touched,” Gordon said.
As Fox 4 news reports, an arrest report indicated Noah went back to his home and shouted threats at the deputy when he was confronted. Gordon said the deputy then entered her home and drew his Taser.
“I grabbed my son’s hand and brought him back inside, and the officer went ahead and came into our home with a Taser, pointing directly at my child,” Gordon explained.

According to Gordon, she explained to the deputies that her son suffers from a traumatic brain injury. But, apparently, the deputies did not care. They barged into her home with tasers drawn, threw down her son, causing him injury, and eventually put him in handcuffs.
Gordon says, and has pictures to back up, that Noah sustained injuries to his eyes and forhead during the arrest.
“There shouldn’t be any other injuries with a TBI. From what we’ve learned from all his doctors and neurosurgeons, we have to be cautious with everything he does,” said Gordon.
To add insult to injury, Gordon herself was arrested for attempting to protect her son from the deputies as they barged into her home. She was charged with obstruction without violence. According to Gordon, all she did was try to stand in between deputies and her son.
“They need to know more about the child and the environment. They need to speak to the parent before hand and not just put handcuffs on a child,” she said.
According to Fox 4 news, when Noah got to the Sheriff’s Office for booking, medical staff said he had to be sent to the hospital for clearance because of his TBI. He is now at home, serving a 21-day home detention.
Whether or not police showed evidence that Noah committed the crimes for which he was charged is unclear as they are remaining tight-lipped on this case. As Fox 4 news reports, when they asked the LCSO to explain the situation, they said they couldn’t comment until after an investigation.

Even if Noah had damaged the statues in his neighbor’s yard, the reaction by the deputies seems over the top. They were dealing with a young boy in his underwear, who exhibits symptoms like that of autism, who was simply afraid of the men who were trying to take him. Once they entered into his home with tasers drawn, all of Noah’s fears were then realized.
Noah’s family has since created a GoFundMe account for help with medical expenses. You can donate here.

10-Year-Old Shopped Alone At Lego Store. So Police Arrested His Mom.
A mother was arrested and charged Sunday for letting her 10-year-old son shop alone at a toy store.
Jia Fan was charged with child endangerment for leaving her son alone at the Lego Store in the Eastview Mall in Victor, N.Y., AP reported. She went off to shop and came back to be arrested by Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies.
Child endangerment is a Class A misdemeanor in New York State. Persons charged with it can be sentenced to up to one year in jail, up to three years of probation and a fine of up to $1,000.
Free-Range Kids advocate Lenore Skenazy wrote about the incident at Reason.com.
Turn Drive Time Into Fun-Filled, History Time With Your Kids!
“Ah yes, that poor, endangered kid, surrounded by small pieces of plastic,” she wrote.
But it’s not the first controversial arrest, Skenazy added.
In 2015, an 11-year-old boy was arrested for actually shopping at the Lego Store in the Chinook Mall in Calgary, she wrote.
The boy’s father, Doug Dunlop, wrote the company:
Dear Lego,
Today, our son went to the Lego store in Chinook Mall, Calgary, Alberta. He had over $200 and was intending to purchase some Lego with it….
Imagine my surprise when I entered the store and found that the manager had called a security guard to detain my son….
I spoke to the security guard who told me that the Lego store required a parent to be with any child 12 or under. He stated that it was Lego store policy and that he was just enforcing it.
I then followed the guard to the manager, and asked him why he would call security on my son. He stated that for safety reasons, no child under 12 could be left unattended in the store.”
Doug Dunlop.
Readers who commented at Reason were split on the news stories, believing that private stores have the right to limit the age of kids who can be left alone but wondering why police should be involved.
“Don’t blame LEGO,” one person wrote. “This is almost certainly to protect themselves against liability. Somewhere along the line, there are an attorney’s fingerprints on this.”

CPS Took Daughter from Mom Over Addiction, Gave Her to Leader of Child Sex Ring

Sierra Vista, AZ — While many think that the state taking children from parents is a noble gesture to protect the child, all too often, the state removes kids from a bad situation and throws them into a situation akin to a horror film. A recent lawsuit against the state of Arizona proves this notion.
The lawsuit involves a 5-year-old girl whose stay in foster care ended with her being permanently disfigured and fighting for her life earlier this year because of her bureaucratic ‘protection’ within the system. The child, who is referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit, but whose real name is Devani, was taken from her parents because they had substance abuse issues.
Because her mother struggled with addiction, the state took Devani from her. Like mentioned before, they took her from a bad situation and threw her into a nightmare.
After having her child taken, Michelle Tremor-Calderon, the girl’s biological mother, began to improve her condition. With a clearer head, Tremor noticed that her daughter seemed to be deteriorating in the care of her state-appointed foster parent — David Frodsham.
“I did everything DCS wanted me to, and received certificates of completion, and was in full compliance when my rights were severed,” Tremor said.
After only a few weeks in the care of the Frodsham, multiple signs of abuse and neglect began to arise. However, no action was taken.
Tremor had pointed out, on multiple occasions, that her daughter had continued urinary-tract infections, which can sometimes indicate signs of repeated sexual abuse in children. Her concerns, however, fell on deaf bureaucratic ears.

“I told my CPS/DCS caseworker on several occasions due to my concerns, and they were all ignored,” Tremor said.
“Instead of investigating Jane Doe’s biological mother’s concerns of abuse, [DCS] and the defendant caseworkers accused her of making false and exaggerated reports to DCS,” the lawsuit states.
Despite jumping through all their hoops, the state refused to give back Tremor her daughter.
The longer she stayed away from her mom, the worst things got for little Devani.
Frodsham had been in the state’s foster program from 2002 until 2015 when he was removed after being caught DUI with children in his car — one of whom was Devani.
It was no ordinary DUI, however. This monster was so comfy with the statist system that was paying him to rape children that he went to the foster office drunk to get paid!
As the complaint notes, despite her mother’s repeated complaints, the state did not act on behalf of Devani until “David Frodsham, driving drunk, left 3-year-old Jane and another child in his parked car while he was collecting his foster parent check in a state office, while “visibly drunk and acting belligerent.”
Even after they found abused children in his car while drunk at the state office, the DCS did not conduct a review of his home. It took him getting arrested again — this time with another child rapist.
David Frodsham, the state’s choice for a better environment than her own mother, was arrested along with an active duty soldier for allegations of transferring child porn over the internet.
READ MORE: Pastors Advocating for Foster Kids Caught Running Child Sex Trafficking Ring
According to the lawsuit, “Later, David Frodsham was arrested and accused of sexual misconduct with a minor, procuring minors for sex, and possessing and/or manufacturing child pornography. Law enforcement’s investigation revealed a video made by David Frodsham of a 3- or 4-year-old girl being penetrated by an adult male and screaming for her mommy. David Frodsham pled guilty rather than face a trial and has been sentenced to 17 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections. David Frodsham was part of a pornography ring involving numerous children in his pornography and the procurement of sex for the ring.”
For more than a decade, this sicko likely preyed on children — all of whom were given to him by the State of Arizona.
Naturally, one would think, that once Tremor’s daughter was found to have been placed in a home and sexually abused because of the negligence of the state, they would give Devani back to her mom who had done everything they asked to improve her situation. However, one would be wrong.
Instead of reuniting this poor abused girl with her biological mother, she was placed into another horrifying nightmare.
Devani’s new state-appointed abuser was Samantha Osteraas. After staying with Osteraas for a few months, this little girl would be nearly killed.
According to the complaint, “Defendant Samantha Osteraas submerged and held down Jane Doe, a 5-year-old, in a bath of scalding hot water. Jane Doe suffered severe burns over 80 percent of her body. When police arrived, there was blood on the floor and pieces of Jane Doe’s skin were falling off her body. There were bruises to her neck and arms along with other signs of trauma.”
READ MORE: Fmr Trump Campaign Chair Just Arrested for Child Sex Trafficking — During the Campaign
Devani was put into a medically induced coma, suffering from organ failure. She lost her toes to amputation “and will undergo lifelong operations to replace 80 percent of the skin on her body and will need incredible amounts of care for the duration of her life as a result of the abuse she suffered in the Osteraases’ home.”
No one within the agencies involved in placing this little girl in the ‘care’ of sick child abusers has been held accountable. The only means of accountability will come from this lawsuit which seeks punitive damages for negligence, respondeat superior, breach of duty, intentional infliction of emotional distress, assault and battery, and constitutional violations.
Sadly, as the Free Thought Project has reported far too many times, this is not an isolated incident.

“I don’t like to be touched”: Disturbing video shows autistic boy being arrested at school
When John Benjamin Haygood, a 10-year-old boy in Florida with autism, reported to his former school for standardized testing, neither he nor his mother had any idea what would ensue on that day. The pair arrived at Okeechobee Achievement Academy, a preschool through 12th-grade public school, last week to participate in the state testing when the school’s resource officer recognized John Benjamin and informed them that there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Though the warrant was valid, everything else surrounding the actual arrest is what has sparked a controversy and caused John Benjamin’s mother, Luanne, to seek legal counsel. She claims that they were not made aware of the warrant nor the charges against him prior to his arrest, despite the fact that the incident that warranted his arrest occurred in October 2016.
According to John Benjamin’s paraprofessional educator at the time, on October 27 he was acting disruptive by throwing paper balls around class at other students.
“When John Benjamin was asked to go to timeout he refused,” according to a probable cause affidavit. The educator “attempted to remove the student and sent him back to the timeout place. At this point, John Benjamin started kicking and scratching and punching” him.
John Benjamin was restrained and escorted out of the classroom for his behavior, and he was expelled from school that same month, though it’s unclear if it was because of this incident. He has since been homeschooled, and the day they came in for testing last week was his first time back at school since his expulsion.
When the resource officer began the process of arresting John Benjamin, Luanne can be heard in the background asking if he has the same rights as an adult. Since they had not yet been told exactly why he was being arrested, she says,
“Does he have to be told?”
“He doesn’t have to be told. He has a warrant,” one officer responds.
“So not even an adult has the right to be told when they’re arrested why?” Luanne asks in return.
Meanwhile, John Benjamin can be heard crying and saying, “I don’t want to be touched. I don’t like to be touched.”
John Benjamin was diagnosed with autism just two years earlier and given an individualized education plan to help accommodate his needs as he continued with school. However, he claimed that he didn’t like his assigned paraprofessional and that the aide was hurting him. After they tried to have the school change his aide and they refused, John Benjamin lashed out, resulting in the October incident.
Luanne recognizes that it’s her son’s autism that causes his behavioral problems and is now angry with the school for not being able to accommodate her child’s special needs and not informing her earlier about the warrant. John Benjamin is being charged with an outstanding warrant for battery on a school board employee, which is a third-degree felony. The 10-year-old boy spent the night in juvenile detention, where he claims to have only received one meal during his stay.
Luanne believes this was a “power play” by the school, but she hopes her video will warrant an examination into any wrongdoing by the school or police and raise awareness about the mistreatment of students with disabilities.
“Now, maybe something will be changed. Now, maybe somebody will believe me and other parents when we say our kids are being mistreated,” Haygood told WPEC. “It’s nationwide, and these children are not getting the services they are guaranteed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act,”
John Benjamin has a court date set for May and Luanne intends to pursue legal action to fight the charges against her son. Watch the video below to see his arrest.

Alleged Pizzagate pedophile ringleader John Podesta toys with conspiracy theorists, tweets, “pizza is great”
WASHINGTON (INTELLIHUB) — Comet Ping Pong owner James Alefantis came out in a public relations piece published by the New York Times Thursday addressing people who the pizzamaker says are still clinging to an “absurd lie” when it comes to the Pizzagate conspiracy.
“Sadly, many people who don’t know me or my neighborhood cling to an absurd lie: that I and political figures including Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman, John Podesta, run a child-slavery ring out of Comet’s basement,” Alefantis wrote.
The pizza shop owner has been plagued with unwanted attention ever since the story broke in the mainstream press after a man, an actor, by the name of Edgar Welch went to ‘self-investigate’ Comet Ping Pong personally which resulted in the man firing a shot from a rifle inside the D.C. pizzeria.
Most recently, on Friday, in what can only be considered a tumultuous move by the alleged ringleader of the Pizzagate conspiracy, Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager John Podesta tweeted something very provocative, stirring up a shitstorm throughout the Pizzagate research community.

“I know I’m asking for it but the community is great and the pizza is great too. Thanks James,” Podesta tweeted, linking to James Alefantis’ article titled “What happened when ‘Pizzagate’ came to my restaurant.”

Needless to say, soon after, tweets slamming Podesta and Alefantis started trickling into the feed.
“RETWEET if you think John Podesta should be locked up for his part in PizzaGate and the Clinton Crime Family! #MAGA,” one tweet read.

And, as expected, we even saw a tweet or two from David Seaman who is one of the leading Pizzagate researchers.
“When you’re in prison, I will send your cell mates printouts of James Alefantis’ despicable “pizza” Instagram. You will pay, David Brock,” Seaman tweeted.

Of course, Media Matters of America founder David Brock chimed in showing his support for the pizza shop owner by tweeting: “Powerful piece by James Alefantis, whose resilience and verve have inspired me for more than 15 years.”

State Defeats Bill That Would Have Let Kids RIDE BICYCLES ALONE
Leaving a child unsupervised outside for a few minutes can still be illegal in Arkansas.
A state legislative committee rejected a bill this month that would have prevented parents from being charged with neglect for leaving a child outside alone.
According to the summary, Senate Bill 305 was designed to “protect a parent or guardian’s decision to grant his or her children unsupervised time to engage in activities that include without limitation playing outside, walking to school, bicycling, remaining briefly in a vehicle, and remaining at home.”
It was designed to prevent investigations of parents who leave children alone for short periods of time, Reason reported. The bill would have allowed a child to remain unsupervised in a car for 15 minutes “if the temperature inside the vehicle is not or will not become dangerously hot or cold.”
Heirloom Audio: Christian Heroes For Christian Kids
“This just simply says that kids walking home from a park and kids being left in a car in good weather for a few minutes is not a criminal act,” the bill’s sponsor, Republican state Sen. Alan Clark (R-Hot Springs), said.
Despite that, the House Judiciary Committee rejected the legislation earlier this month after it had passed the Senate, Reason reported.
The bill was drafted by the Reason Foundation’s Adrian Moore, free-range kids advocate Lenore Skenazy, and Advance Arkansas Institute’s Dan Greenburg, with the help of attorneys.
“This is a bill to make sure my parents would not be criminals,” Scott said. “This is a parents’ rights bill. As a practical matter, this bill requires DHS (Department of Human Services) to close investigations of child maltreatment once they find there was no maltreatment.”
But Republican House Speaker Jeremy Gillam opposed the bill, noting it takes only 37 seconds to carjack a vehicle with a child inside.
Skenazy, in a Reason story, asserted that Gillam’s assertion is beside the point.
“Simply because something can happen does not mean that it is remotely likely to happen,” she wrote. “And as Clark proceeded to point out: If kids can be kidnapped in 37 seconds from a car, the same must hold true if they are allowed to ride their bikes, or walk home from the park on their own.”
Turn Drive Time Into Learning Time For Your Kids — Without DVDs!
Caleb Taylor of The Arkansas Project argued:
If you make the assumption that any imaginable tragedy is sufficient reason to never allow kids to be left unattended by parents, public schools should close tomorrow. It’s possible to imagine that kids could be sexually abused or beaten by a school employee. Does that mean parents who send their kids to school everyday are bad parents? Obviously not.
The bill’s legislative findings asserted that parental coddling of children has had negative effects on kids.
“The alarming rise of obesity and diabetes in childhood is almost certainly linked to the insistence of parents and guardians on driving their children to school and activities instead of allowing their children to walk,” the bill stated. “As measured by incidences of mental health difficulties, today’s over-supervised youth experience more difficulties upon reaching adulthood than earlier generations.
“Earlier generations learned resilience by walking, bicycling, playing, helping out, and solving problems without constant adult intervention,” the legislation states.
The legislation was prompted by news stories about the arrests and investigation of parents for leaving children outside alone.

Mothers’ Diets Have Biggest Influence On Children Eating Healthy, Study Suggests
Every once in a great while, a perfect child is born. One who never cries, sleeps all night, and gladly eats whatever food you choose to put in front of them.
But unfortunately for most of us with children, developing lifestyle habits, such as a healthy appreciation for nutritious fruits and vegetables, usually requires years of continual work.
New information recently released by researchers at Michigan State University’s College of Nursing helps to shed some light on the problem of establishing healthy dietary preferences in young children, and more importantly, may help both parents and medical professionals find more effective ways to approach it successfully [1].
Does Your Diet Really Affect Your Child’s?
In order to better understand the connection between mother’s dietary habits, and those of their children, researchers questioned almost 400 low-income women from all over the state with pre-school-aged children then currently enrolled in educational head start programs.
They found that the children whose mothers ate fewer than four servings of fruits and vegetables per week were less likely to consume the recommended number of servings themselves. Perhaps more interesting, was their discovery that children who were viewed as “picky eaters” by their mothers were also likely to consume an inadequate number of servings per week, regardless of the mother’s own dietary habits.
This has led the researchers behind the study to speculate on improved methods for encouraging better eating habits in children. Many nutritional specialists have become increasingly focused on making healthy foods appear fun and therefore more appealing to kids. And while a certain amount of progress has been made following this approach, it is far from a stand-alone solution.
Tips for Being a Better Influence for Your Child’s Diet
In today’s busy world, it’s easy to fall into a routine of serving your family convenience foods — especially when dealing with young children and toddlers, whose taste buds can be very difficult to please.
Still, the importance of developing smart dietary habits early in life cannot be overstated. Without a balanced and varied diet, growing bodies don’t get the vitamins and minerals they need to thrive.
By focusing directly on the food choices of mothers, experts may be able better influence the diets of their children. This is likely due to a combination of positive modeling and increased access to more nutritious foods.
There’s more to it than just working a few extra vegetables into dinner. (Although cooking meals at home instead of eating out every night is a smart first step for some.) Make sure that fresh snack options are also readily available for those in-between bouts of hunger. Not only is this better for your family’s health, replacing pr-epacked commercial snack products with seasonal organic fruits and vegetables or raw nuts and seeds is a great way to save money in the checkout line.
Parent’s of so-called “picky eaters” should also keep in mind that some children may need to be exposed to a given food as many as 15 times before they are able to decide whether or not they like it. So don’t give up just yet on convincing your little one that broccoli is good. In the long run, it’ll be worth the effort.

Cops Mistake a Wig in a Car for a Child, Smash Woman’s Windows Out and Refuse to Pay for Damage
Suffolk, VA — Illustrating their callous disregard for private property and ability to pass the liability of their destruction onto the backs of the taxpayer, Suffolk police smashed an innocent woman’s car windows as they looked for a nonexistent child. Police then left without any word or any way for the innocent woman to repair her car.
Last week, Jasmine Turner, of Suffolk, Virgina, received a call from police claiming there was a child locked in her car. This came as a huge surprise to Turner as she has no children.
“I don’t have a baby so I’m like, ‘Where’d the child come from? Who put the child in my car?’” Turner said. “I’m as surprised as they were when they got the phone call.”
Turner, who was shopping for supplies for her job, told police that she didn’t have a child and had no idea how a child would’ve gotten into her car. However, she told them that she would be right out in five minutes to open the door.
Police could not wait that long.
When Turner arrived back at her car, her windows were smashed out and police were gone. After police vandalized the car, they quickly found this ‘child’ to be a pile of laundry and a wig.
“By the time I get from Walmart back to my job, the police aren’t there. The windows busted out of my car and there’s glass everywhere,” Turner said.
The damage from police left several hundred dollars in repairs — repairs that Turner feels she should not have to pay. However, according to Turner, police told her they couldn’t pay for it.
“I just want my window fixed and them to pay for it, either being in a rental or whatever the case is. I can’t take off work. I have bills to pay,” Turner told WAVY.
Police showed up to the scene because a person in the parking lot dialed 911 after seeing the wig. The smashing of the windows is arguably warranted as police truly believed there to be a child in the car. However, it is what happened after that is cause for concern.
The officers smashed the windows and disappeared. They didn’t wait for Turner to arrive to inform her they did this, nor did they inform Turner that there wasn’t actually a child in her car.
Now Turner is left without a vehicle as she is scared to drive it as it has no windows. When Turner inquired as to who was going to pay for the damage to her car, she was told police gave her contact information for the City’s Risk Management Department. Buck passed.
In the meantime, however, Turner is carless.
