Catholic Church and UK Government Claim Child Sex Abuse Victims Can “Consent” to their Attacks

Catholic Church and UK Government Claim Child Sex Abuse Victims Can

By: Kalee Brown, Collective Evolution

Catholic churches all around the world have been accused of sex scandals, including the Vatican, which has allegedly paid an astonishing $4 billion since 1950 to settle sexual abuse claims. Far too often these stories involve priests taking advantage of their positions of authority in order to sexually abuse people, often children.

More recently, the UK government and the Catholic church have come under public scrutiny for claiming that victims of child sexual abuse “consented” to their rapes in order to avoid compensating the victims. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) establishes which victims get compensated, and they do so by determining whether or not the victim gave consent, even if the victim is a child well under the legal age limit.

The Telegraph reported last month that, according to CICA, “A victim can consent in fact even though in law they may be deemed not to have consented.” That’s right, this government loophole can be used to claim that even though a child may be under the legal age limit, they can still provide consent.

Legal Loophole Preventing Child Sex Victims From Being Compensated

To give you a better picture of how this works, one case that was explained by the charity Victim Support involved a 12-year-old girl who was led into the woods and sexually assaulted by a 21-year-old man while she was intoxicated.

Interestingly enough, despite the fact that the man pled guilty to having sex with a minor, she still wasn’t compensated because she allegedly “gave consent” by “voluntarily” going into the woods with him.

“No child ever gives their ‘consent’ to being abused, and the increased use of this line of defence, although still quite rare, is worrying,” said Anne Longfield, the Children’s Commissioner for England. “I have contacted the Ministry of Justice previously and again recently about this issue and the Government should look urgently at what can be done to tackle it.”

They also argued that she was able to give consent because she had recently had sex with someone her own age. That’s like saying, “If you consent to someone your own age, you consent to everyone. If you’ve consented in the past, you consent to everyone.” That is not an ethical argument, and we should not be teaching children that this irrational logic is okay.

Freedom of Information Act request introduced by Victim Support indicated that since this loophole came into fruition in 2012, a total of 693 cases in which child sexual abuse victims came forward were denied compensation by the CICA. Though many of these cases involved children who were 16, some of the victims were much younger.

So, Where Does the Catholic Church Fit Into This?

As it turns out, this loophole most often benefits private schools, religious groups, and the local authorities. For example, lawyers for the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark explained to one of the sexual abuse victims that his rape “actually occurred in the context of a consensual relationship (albeit one the Claimant in retrospect now appears to regret).”

Although this particular case was actually settled to the tune of £80,000, the victim stated that the defence was both insulting and highlighted the fact that he was below the legal age of consent. There’s a legal age limit for a reason, and it’s strange that this law is being bent through the use of another law.

Dino Nocivelli, a specialist child abuse solicitor at Bolt Burdon, explained on Kent Live: “It is time for the church to practise what they preach and to admit their failings, to take account of the damage this has caused to the lives of far too many children and lastly to apologise for the abuse.”

An important question we need to start asking ourselves and the government is: Why are people in authority positions let off the hook for violent crimes? Sexual abuse and rape are not crimes that should go ignored, yet time and time again, higher-ups and government officials are excused from the law.

To name a few examples, we have the Jeffrey Epstein case, in which he was accused of recruiting and forcing dozens of children into an underground network of sex slaves, who served many of the elite members of society, including former American President Bill Clinton.

Epstein owned a private jet, referred to as the “Lolita Express” by mainstream media (MSM), which was used to transport Epstein and his elitist friends to Little St. James, Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands — dubbed “Orgy Island” by the tabloids. Despite all of these allegations and proven facts, he only served approximately one year in jail time.

Former U.S. representative Cynthia McKinney also knew about the government’s relationship to human trafficking, and she actually addressed it in 2005. She grilled Donald Rumsfeld on military contractor DynCorp’s child trafficking business of selling women and children.

Ted Gunderson, former FBI special agent and head of their L.A. office, worked to uncover years’ worth of information on high-level pedophilia, sexual abuse, and satanic rituals performed by the government and the elite (or the cabal). In my opinion, Ted Gunderson is a wonderful place to start your research on this subject. You can read more about that in our CE article here.

Although these examples are outside of the UK, they still speak to how the government provides special treatment when it comes to crimes committed by those in higher social classes.

Final Thoughts

Time and time again, the government allows perpetrators of sexual violence to go unpunished. If we’re not willing to face these issues, regardless of who the perpetrator is, then how will we fix this clear issue within society? Sexual violence is never okay, and we should not be blaming the victims for crimes they were not responsible for.

We need to start treating everyone as equal and extend more compassion to others; only then will we be able to not only improve our judiciary system, but hopefully prevent these crimes from occurring in the first place.

Church, Govt Argue Child Sex Predators Innocent Because Children Consented

(ANTIMEDIA) The Catholic Church and government agencies in the United Kingdom have developed a new argument to avoid paying out settlements to victims of pedophilia and sex abuse: they’re claiming the children consented.

As the Telegraph noted over the weekend:

Lawyers who represent some of the victims have told the Sunday Telegraph that the defence is more frequently being used by private schools, religious groups and local authorities when trying to defend compensation claims.”

Though news of these recent attempts to avoid paying settlements emerged last month, the Telegraph recently viewed documents from two court cases in which defense attorneys used the “consent” argument.

One claimant was told by lawyers for the Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark that his abuse, which included rape and began when he was 15, ‘actually occurred in the context of a consensual relationship (albeit one the Claimant in retrospect now appears to regret),’” the Telegraph reported.

I was below the legal age of consent anyway and there’s a grooming element to that kind of situation. It was totally disregarded and it made me feel really small,” he said.

According to Siobhán Crawford, a lawyer with London-based Bolt Burdon Kemp, the strategy is usually used when a child turns sixteen during the abuse. Sixteen is the age of consent, though the Telegraph notes that “[f]or adults in a position of authority, it is illegal to have sex with a child under their care, even if the child is 16 or 17 at the time.

Even so, in one case, the Cambridgeshire County Council, a government entity, claimed a student whose abuse started when she was under 16 consented:

On her own account the Claimant voluntarily sought out contact with [the teacher] and considered that she was in a relationship with him. If that is correct, after she had obtained the age of 16, the Claimant consented to sexual acts with [the teacher] and those acts ceased to be assaults.”

The victims in these two cases were eventually compensated.

Despite claims from the Church and government that consent was issued, Anne Longfield, the Children’s Commissioner for England, disagrees. “No child ever gives their ‘consent’ to being abused, and the increased use of this line of defence, although still quite rare, is worrying,” she said.

While the defense is rare, it is being employed more often. Crawford told the Telegraph that her firm had dealt with ten cases and that “there had been an increase in the past two years as authorities became aware that it was an option.

Barnardo’s, one of the children’s charities objecting to this new line of defense, said in July that since the CICA was established in 2012, “nearly 700 child victims of sexual abuse have been refused payments ranging between £1,000 and £44,000, according to a freedom of information request by the charity coalition,” which also includes Victim SupportLibertyRape Crisis and the National Working Group (NWG).

One case in which the victim was not compensated, the Telegraph noted in July, “involved a 12-year-old girl who was plied with alcohol, led into the woods and sexually assaulted by a 21-year-old man.

This was because she had gone into the woods ‘voluntarily,’ had not been a victim of violence, she emerged ‘happily’ from the woods and that she had recently had sexual relations with another child around her own age,” the outlet summarized.

The coalition of charities has called for a change in rules. According to a press release Barnardo’s issued in July:

The coalition is calling for the rules to be changed so no child groomed and manipulated into sexual abuse is denied compensation because they complied with their abuse through fear, lack of understanding, or being brainwashed into believing their abuser loved them and developing feelings for them.

This is only the latest controversy surrounding the Catholic Church, which has been defending alleged pedophiles and child abusers within its ranks for years. The government agencies in question are also under fire now, too.

As Dawn Thomas, co-chair of Rape Crisis England & Wales, said last month:

“It’s not only bizarre but also inappropriate and harmful that the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority applies a different definition of consent from the law and, as a result, routinely tell victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation that they consented to the sexual violence perpetrated against them.”

Papal States become Vatican City

Papal States become Vatican City | vatican | Faith Sleuth Journal Special Interests World News

When a church becomes a secular state with a government or even an army, one needs to ask if the organized religion is more devoted to a political entity, than a spiritual belief. A contemporary example could be the Iranian Mullahs, but for the definitive historic paradigm has been the Catholic Church. Catholic translates into universal. Notwithstanding, the crucial question that is traditionally avoided seeks to ask if the quid essential Christendom Church has operated more as an ingrained assemblage than a shepherd for saving souls.

In comparison to other religions, the Italian Stati Pontifici transacted in direct land acquisitions of visible temporal governmental administration. According to the Encyclopædia Britannica, The Papal States provides a concise account of the development of Church political power.

“The Republic of St. Peter, or the Papal States, emerged in the mid-8th century as part of a broader political reconfiguration. Popes Gregory II (715–731) and Gregory III (731–741) turned away from the Byzantine Empire because of increased imperial taxation, the emperor’s policy of iconoclasm (prohibition of the veneration of religious images), and Constantinople’s failure to protect Rome adequately. When the Lombards threatened to take over the whole peninsula in the 750s, Pope Stephen II (or III; 752–757) appealed for aid to the Frankish ruler Pippin III (the Short), who “restored” the lands of central Italy to the Roman see, ignoring the claim of the Byzantine Empire to sovereignty there. This Donation of Pippin (756) provided the basis for the papal claim to temporal power. In the same year, by the Treaty of Pavia, the Lombard king Aistulf ceded territory in northern and central Italy. It was probably also about this time that the Donation of Constantine was forged by an unknown cleric in Rome. A legitimate donation by Charlemagne and decrees by Louis the Pious and his son Lothar I confirmed and expanded early Carolingian grants of territory to the papacy. The pope consequently became ruler of the area around Ravenna, the Pentapolis (along the Adriatic Sea from Rimini to Ancona), and the Roman region.”

As with most governments, engaging in warfare became a stable in the expansion and safeguard of wealth and power. Wars of the Papacy and the Papal Statesreference:

“From the Middle Ages to the birth of the modern Italian State in the 1870s, the men who served as the leaders of the Catholic Church held not only a spiritual and religious authority, but also a very real and temporal political and military power as the rulers and princes of a unique European state known as the Papal States. As rulers engaged in geopolitical and military disputes, coalitions, and negotiations, the Popes also waged war, signed treaties, and took part in all of the intrigue associated with European princes and kings of that time period.”

Read the long list (cited by this source) of conflicts over the centuries to appreciate the involvements stemming from a political power government.

Papal States become Vatican City | papal-states-map | Faith Sleuth Journal Special Interests World News

Flash forward to the actual creation of the Vatican City model that continues to this day. The same Encyclopædia Britannica continues.

“In 1929 Vatican City’s independent sovereignty was recognized by the Fascist Italian government in the Lateran Treaty. Sovereignty is exercised by the pope upon his election as the head of the Roman Catholic Church. He has absolute executive, legislative, and judicial powers within the city. In 1984 a major reshuffle of offices in the Roman Curia resulted in the delegation of the routine administration of Vatican City to a pontifically appointed commission of five cardinals headed by the Secretariat of State. The inhabitants of Vatican City, the majority of whom are priests and nuns, also include several hundred laypersons engaged in secretarial, domestic, trade, and service occupations.

Special extraterritorial privileges are extended to more than 10 other buildings in Rome and to Castel Gandolfo, the pope’s summer residence in the Alban Hills. In addition, Vatican City maintains embassies in numerous foreign nations.”

With all this as background, the 1929 emergence of Vatican City’s independence, initiated active foreign policy involvements into world affairs that are just as rooted in intrigue and deception as those from the previous millenniums.

It is hard to avoid the endless viewpoints that the Holy See conspiracy is at the core of the New World Order. While many are worthy of an in-depth review, the obvious interventions are more than enough of reoccurring political intercessions. Dealing as an above criticism figure of State force, the Popes wheel back door influence that few ordinary governments can muster.

Why does the international community pursue a diplomatic negotiation when most other religious denominations are treated as photo ops in a love feast of ecumenical promotions? Is it that the Vatican is that much more overwhelming in global authority to ignore or does the answer lie within the prominent expanse of influential officials, who proclaim to be members of the Catholic congregations?

These are temporal questions. The spiritual side of the coin usually take a back seat when it comes to tearing down the Soviet Empire or chiming in on income disparities. As most believers understand and voiced in God and Jesus, Politics and Government,

“Jesus said that his “kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). That marvelous statement still leaves an important question unanswered: As long as we live in this world, what kind of civil government is right for humankind? The Bible does not contain an explicit blueprint for government. It does, however, provide abundant guidance and clear precepts for moral conduct in our thoughts and deeds that should influence our politics. Liberty, justice, charity, right, and wrong are dominant themes throughout the Bible. The political challenge is to get them in the right balance. In I Samuel, chapter 8, it is plain that the highest form of government would be for the people to follow God’s laws, and that any human ruler (and by extension, human government in general) will be prone to abusing the people under its authority.”

If this assessment is correct, what is the explanation when Vatican City ignores the Biblical inspiration of prophecy and substitutes their version of a temporal rooted political system? Kingship in a globalist world order under the mandate of human extinction weaponry does not reflect the Metaphysic of the Son of God. All of recorded history establishes an undeniable record that peace and justice has never been achieved under a government, in this world.

The more that the Vatican extends their proclaimed moral authority upon wicked governments by becoming a co-conspirator to advance the globalism political agenda, the further it betrays the gospel message of their divine savior. The essential question for Catholic defenders of their Pontiff, especially the current one; boils down to by what teaching of Christ can the Church assert that justifies the imposition of a temporal political government?

“Upon this rock I will build my Church”, cannot be expanded into rationalizing the suspect Just War Theory founded upon the thinking of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas. The crucial element when invoked freed the armed conflicts that are central to the chronicles of Europe.

“The first thing is the authority of the prince by whose command the war is to be waged. It does not belong to a private person to start a war, for he can prosecute his claim in the court of his superior. In like manner the mustering of the people, that has to be done in wars, does not belong to a private person. But since the care of the commonwealth is entrusted to princes, to them belongs the protection of the common weal of the city, kingdom, or province subject to them. And as they lawfully defend it with the material sword against inward disturbances by punishing male-factors, so it belongs to them also to protect the commonwealth from enemies without by the sword of war.”

The forbidden history of western civilization is replete with armies blessed by religious prayers that ignored the Good News within the gospels. The Papal States wars, in true tradition of blood shedding carnage, had no similarity to the sacrifice made on Calvary.

The religious wars that followed the Protestant Reformation were fundamentally about temporal authority. The universality in the Catholic convention did not shine in the brightest light during this period of conflict. When governments go to war against their perceived heretics, the slaughter is often intense. However, when a religious sect itself becomes a government, seldom will forgiveness follow the ending of hostilities.

In this Transhumanism era, the forces of satanic science confront the basic decadency of the human spirit. The Vatican City creed needs to forgo its governmental secular interactions with the international community and reestablish the preaching of Christ’s teachings. The horrors of an apocalyptic future can only be avoided by divine intervention.

The Catholic Church needs to rediscover the original meaning within the gospels of Jesus Christ. Institutional precedent must not be confused with divine doctrine. Government will never redeem the Cain killing Abel sin.

Pedophile Priest With HIV Who Raped 30 Children Forgiven By Church

Pedophile Priest With HIV Who Raped 30 Children Forgiven By Church | preist-with-hiv-who-raped-30-children-forgiven-by-the-church-m2517 | Sleuth Journal Special Interests US News

By: Jay Greenberg, Neon Nettle |

The priest won’t face criminal charges for raping 30 children A Catholic Priest has been acquitted by the church after he admitted to raping almost 30 young girls aged between 5 and 10-years-old. The priest, Jose Garcia Ataulfo, was cleared of any wrong-doing and won’t face any criminal charges, despite the fact that he knew he was infected with HIV when he sexually abused all the children he admitted to raping. The mother of one of the priest’s victims wrote a letter to The Pope asking to meet with him in Rome to discuss the case, but was shunned by the Vatican who declared that “the matter is closed”.

Ataulfo admitted to sexually assaulting well over two dozen children, many of whom were indigenous young girls from Oaxaca, a state in southern Mexico known for its large indigenous population. Due to the significant influence that the Catholic Church wields in Mexico, the priest won’t face any criminal charges, particularly for his crimes in areas populated by indigenous ethnic groups. The report which first appeared on the Spanish-language news site Urgente24.com, says the priest, was absolved of any wrongdoing by the Archdiocese of Mexico.According to Urgente24.com, only two out of the thirty rape victims have come forward to denounce the acquittal.

According to The Daily Mail, sexual abuse of minors by priests – and the subsequent cover-ups by bishops and other Church officials – have been widespread in many countries, including the United States. The issue was thrust into the national spotlight in 2002 when the Boston Globe revealed the extent to which the local archdiocese shielded abusive priests from being exposed to the public even though it knew they posed a danger to young parishioners. The Globe exposé, which detailed abuse cases that numbered in the thousands over a span of several decades, inspired other victims to come forward, leading to an avalanche of lawsuits and criminal prosecutions. Not only did the floodgates open in the US, but the Catholic Church was also forced to confront cases in other countries, including Mexico. In 2004, the Vatican re-opened a prior investigation against Marcial Maciel, who was accused of sexually abusing minors as well as fathering six children by three different women. Though the allegations spanned decades and the extent of his crimes was known to church officials, it was only in 2006 that the Vatican forced Maciel, one of its most powerful clergymen, to retire from active ministry.

Pfleger Gun Turn-In Raises Legality and Safety Questions

So Snuffy Pfleger would rather George Zimmerman had his head repeatedlly smashed into the sidewalk until… what, exactly? [Michael Pfleger / Facebook photo]

“Great Gun Turn-in today….248 Handguns,,,,86 Rifles/shotguns……and 59 bbs and replicas….. a total of 393……,” Catholic priest Mike “Snuffy” Pfleger announced on his Facebook page, appropriately on April 1. “For those that say this don’t help…tell that to the Grandfather who turned in his grandsons gun or to the several Young Brothers who said they want to make a turn in their life and then talked our Employment folks to try and get a job…….Good Day…….”

I’ve been calling him “Snuffy” on The War on Guns blog ever since he was recorded urging a mob to “snuff out” a gun store owner after they “pull [him] out … like a rat”:

https://www.oathkeepers.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/pfleger_calls_for_murder_052607.mp3

His involvement of St. Sabina Catholic Church in advocating for anti-gun legislation (and even involving himself in partisan politics) have earned him rebukes from the Church and even a suspension, but they’ve been afraid to replace him, fearing too many parishioners who place a collectivist “social justice” agenda over religion would follow him out the door. And so far, he’s managed to skate by without official scrutiny of his church’s tax exempt status.

Not that Snuffy’s “guns for gift cards” media stunt made a bit of difference over the weekend he held it:

Six people were killed and at least 17 others were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Friday evening and Monday morning.

And not like those who actually know about the efficacy of such things haven’t officially proclaimed their uselessness. From the National Institute of Justice’s “Summary of Select Firearm Violence Prevention Strategies“:

Gun buybacks are ineffective as generally implemented. 1. The buybacks are too small to have an impact. 2. The guns turned in are at low risk of ever being used in a crime. 3. Replacement guns are easily acquired. Unless these three points are overcome, a gun buyback cannot be effective.

What such collection points can be used for are as places to “fence” stolen junk, and even to dispose of “crime guns,” especially with the guarantee of “No questions asked.” And that can mean legitimate owners may not get their property back, or in the case of a gun being evidence, even if it does somehow get recovered for investigation, the chain of custody has been broken with all the complications for admissible forensics that creates.

On top of that, such events encourage people who may not know the first thing about safe and lawful gun handling and transporting to do both. You have to wonder how many are conversant in Jeff Cooper’s rules, and if many even know how to check for a round in the chamber.

Another question is raised in a glowing piece of free publicity courtesy of CBS Chicago and WBBM Newsradio:

St. Sabina takes guns anytime, and receive drop offs several times a month.

Really? Do the authorities maintain a full-time presence there to lawfully receive them, or does Snuffy have an FFL?

With that”anytime” policy, I’m waiting for some gangbanger to get busted for illegal firearm possession, and make the claim that he was taking it to St. Sabina’s and didn’t understand there were any rules besides “No questions asked.”

You know, “to make a turn in [his] life and then talk [to their] Employment folks to try and get a job.”

Unfortunately, stopping the violence requires stopping destructive choices, not infringing on the rights of those not making such choices. [Michael Pfleger / Facebook photo]
