Gun rights supporters hold rallies at state capitols across US

Gun rights advocates rallied at state capitols across the country on Saturday to make their voices heard amid recent efforts to impose stricter gun-control laws that they fear undermine their Second Amendment rights.

Peaceful protesters numbering in the hundreds gathered outside statehouses from Maine to Wyoming to hear speakers warn that any restrictions on gun ownership or use could eventually lead to bans for law-abiding gun owners.

“Gun owners have been portrayed in a negative way and it is our hope that this peaceable rally will show that we are safe, law-abiding individuals that happen to take our constitutional rights very seriously,” Dave Gulya, an organizer for the Maine event that attracted about 800 people, told the Bangor Daily News.

The National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans sponsored the 45 planned rallies across the U.S. in support of the right to bear arms, according to the paper.

“If you have a building and you take a brick out every so often, after a while you’re not going to have a building,” said Westley Williams, who joined about 100 people outside the state Supreme Court building in Cheyenne, Wyo.

An estimated 160 Second Amendment supporters rallied in Atlanta, with some carrying firearms, flags and signs saying “Don’t Tread on Me” as they listened to speakers talk about gun rights.

Protesters in Vermont took to the steps of the Statehouse in Montpelier, where days earlier they felt Gov. Phil Scott “betrayed” them when he signed three major gun control measures.

“Three days ago, on these steps, we were betrayed,” Joe Nagle told the Burlington Free Press. “We were promised no new gun laws.”

The paper reported that the National Rifle Association criticized Scott, a Republican, and called on gun owners to abandon the governor, who changed his stance in February after an alleged school shooting plot shook the state.

Here’s Where Massive Alt-Right Rallies Are Planned Across the Country This Weekend

Here’s Where Massive Alt-Right Rallies Are Planned Across the Country This Weekend | alt-right-rallies-1 | Protestors & Activists US News

(Updated) Just in case the horrifying events in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend weren’t enough of a warning about the dangers of political extremism, it looks like we’re gearing up for an idealogic civil war across the country, complete with violence and death. This weekend, massive Alt-Right rallies are scheduled across the nation and we can be guaranteed they’ll be met with counter-rallies.

If you called out the people rioting after Trump was elected, or the people rioting after police shootings, you should just as forcefully denounce the people rioting in Charlottesville, where a woman died in the violence. None of this is okay. It’s not “taking sides” to denounce groups like the KKK or white supremacists. It’s being a rational human being who isn’t a hypocrite. What occurred in all of these events is beyond justification.

I said then that violence and vandalism in the name of political dissent was wrong. I stand by the same opinion now.

This weekend, more Alt-Right rallies are scheduled across the nation.

UPDATE:

Zero Hedge reports that some of the rallies have been postponed, including the one in Mountain View, CA, according to organizers.

As the Mercury News reports, the “Peaceful March on Google” has been postponed “due to credible Alt Left terrorist threats for the safety of our citizen participants,” the group wrote in a blog post. The group is protesting against the recent termination of engineer James Damore over a memo claiming which slammed the search giant for its “anti-conservative” bias and claimed a biological basis for the gender gap in tech.

From the blog:

Despite our clear and straightforward statements denouncing bigotry and hatred, CNN and other mainstream media made malicious and false statements that our peaceful march was being organized by Nazi sympathizers. Following the articles, credible threats from known Alt Left terrorist groups have been reported to and relevant authorities have been notified.

In one instance, an Alt Left threat was made to use an automobile to drive into our peaceful march. (source)

If the official event is cancelled, does that mean people will stay home? Let’s hope that cool heads prevail.

Here’s where the rallies will be held.

After the rage was stoked last weekend, it’s doesn’t take a crystal ball to predict that things will get ugly.

The first of the batch will be protesting Google’s firing of James Damore for his criticism of their diversity policy. The March on Google is to protest “anti-white-male diversity policies.” These will be held in:

  • Atlanta

  • Austin

  • Boston

  • Los Angeles

  • Mountain View, California

  • New York

  • Pittsburgh

  • Seattle

  • Washington, D.C.

The organizers of these events are trying to distance themselves from the event in Charlottesville.

“We, the organizers of the March on Google, join the President in condemning the actions in Charlottesville on August 12th. Despite many false rumors from those seeking to discredit us we are in no way associated with any group who organized there.” (source)

But, reading the tweets of people planning to attend, it seems that the potential attendees share similar philosophies with the people in Charlottesville. This means, regardless of the intentions of the organizers, things are likely to get ugly.

These may not be the only upcoming events.

According to CNN, two other events will be upcoming:

  • Boston is preparing for a rally from alt-right group Boston Free Speech on Saturday. The city mayor has said the city won’t tolerate racism, bigotry, and violence.

  • San Francisco is preparing for two rallies August 26 and August 27. Mayor Edwin Lee said the city can’t condone a rally that incites hate. “I ask that when they chant of hate, San Francisco chants of love. When they talk of despair, San Francisco talks about hope.”

Not only these events will occur, but there is talk of widespread removal of civil war monuments, renaming of streets and buildings, and other incendiary actions that will almost certainly result in further rage.

Another rally is being planned for September 16 in Richmond, Virginia, around a monument to Confederate General Robert E. Lee to protest the removal of similar statues from public spaces in Civil War–era Southern states. White supremacist Richard Spencer is also seeking permission to speak next month at the University of Florida. (source)

Counterprotests are being planned in response to the rally in Boston as well, with the Black Lives Matter civil rights group saying they will march against the alt-right. (source)

All of these events have the potential to be tinder boxes.

If you think these Alt-Right rallies will be “peaceful” you are delusional.

Just like in Charlottesville, there will be counter-protestors, and it would be naive to expect that these events will occur without violence.

Incidentally, has anyone else wondered whether both of these groups are being funded and encouraged equally in order to destabilize the country? After all, the biggest culprits in Charlottesville were not Virginians. They were from out of state. Someone needs to ask how this is happening.

But I digress.

We should not allow ourselves to be so easily divided. Every person who was a Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders supporter is not a black-mask-wearing, vandalous, violent member of Antifa. Every person who was a Trump voter or is a right-wing conservative is not a hooded member of the KKK or the Alt-Right. Most of us are peaceful people who love our neighbors.

We have reached a point in our country of pure action-reaction. I personally find both extremes to be equally despicable, but they are an extraordinarily vocal minority. These are all hate groups and I’d like to think our country is better than to let those people speak for us.

Be prepared to stay away from these gatherings.

Events like this can turn into riots very quickly, and in that instance, you’re going to want to get home and stay home until it’s over. Make sure you are prepared for this possibility.

Here is a general list of supplies to have on hand. Remember that sometimes power supplies are lost during situations like this. Occasionally officials do this to gain more control over the populace and sometimes it happens as a side-effect of the wholesale destruction by the rioters. Keep the potential for a down-grid situation in mind when preparing.

This article goes into more detail about preparing for a civil unrest event.

The most important thing is to stay home and avoid the areas where violence is more likely to occur.

This is a vocal minority. This is not the heart of America.

Despite these rallies, riots, and protests, I still believe that most people are inherently good. Out of the population of our country, only a minuscule percentage is attending rallies in riot gear hoping to hurt “the other side.” Most of us get along just fine with people of different races or who have different political or religious beliefs. We don’t believe that everyone has to see the world through our lens.

But somehow, these extremists have become louder than us. Somehow, they are representing who Americans are to the rest of the world.

Whether you’re talking about Alt-Right rallies, Black Lives Matter marches, Neo-Nazi gatherings, or Antifa protests, they aren’t about unity. They’re about division. Us vs. Them. Same protests, different t-shirts.

This could lead to civil war across our country. Not since the 1800s have we been so utterly divided.

This can go nowhere good.

UN Adviser Claims Trump Won’t Last 4 Years in Office

UN Adviser Claims Trump Won’t Last 4 Years in Office

Jean Ziegler predicts “moral insurrection” will oust president.

| Infowars.com –
March 28, 2017

An adviser to the UN Human Rights Council predicts that Donald Trump will be forced to leave office before his 4-year term is up due to “psychiatric problems” or “pressure”.

Jean Ziegler, who according to CNS News, “has a history of sympathizing with despotic regimes,” told Austrian newspaper Kurier, “I do not believe that Trump will remain in office for four years.”

“Either there will be psychiatric problems or the pressure will become so great that he can no longer govern,” he added.

Ziegler believes that leftists will lead a “moral insurrection” against Trump’s “xenophobic, vulgar, anti-feminist, anti-solidarity” rhetoric.

The adviser’s gripe against the president appears to stem from Trump proposing to cut funding to the United Nations.

“People are traumatized,” Ziegler claims, adding, “If Trump reduces the payments massively, the U.N. is paralyzed.”

STEWART RHODES COMMENT:

This is clearly the globalist plan – try to create the impression of a massive, popular resistance by “the American people” to Trump, and then have the globalist shills in both major parties clamor for a finding that he is mentally incompetent, and remove him from office.

And that is where the American flag burning, communist flag waving, women and old men beating thugs of Anti-fa, BAMN (By Any Means Necessary), Red Neck Revolt, etc come in.   They are meant to suppress and chill public support for Trump or any of his policies, by using terrorism (the threat of violence or the use of violence to shape the behavior of people) to make conservatives, libertarians, constitutionalists, MAGA hat wearing people, etc. all stay home out of fear of violence in the streets.

Through that terrorism, they can create the artificial impression that fewer and fewer Americans support Trump or his policies, and masses of Americans (at mass rallies funded by Soros) oppose him, giving the globalists and their deep state operatives the thin veneer of legitimacyy will need when they remove him “by any means necessary.”

And that is precisely why all patriotic Americans who support the Constitution need to step out and do the opposite of what the domestic enemies of the Constitution want them to do – step out en mass at any patriotic gathering instead of staying home.

And the members of this org need to be front and center, wearing their Oath Keepers hats and shirts, at all such gatherings of patriots, just as we have done for years at every Tea Party rally, at every gun rights rights rally, and at “back the blue” and “Police lives matter – support the police” rallies in the wake of the Dallas and Baton Rouge cop killer attacks

Our message, when at such events, needs to be:

We are here for the following reasons:

1.  As part of our mission to Reach, Teach, and Inspire (to reach out to all who took the oath in service, whether current serving or veterans, to teach them more about the Constitution they swore to defend, and to inspire them to keep their oath).   We will reach out to the current serving police who are there to keep the peace, and we will outreach to any National Guard, and also to all of the veterans and retired cops in the audience about their duty to defend the Constitution.  And yes, part of that message will be that they should only support actions by elected officials that are in accordance with the Constitution.

2. To spread the message to Trump supporters that if they want to make America great again, they need to make America Constitutional again.   And that is the same message we have for President Trump.  We can then teach them more about what the Constitution requires, to keep them from going off track.   This is precisely the same thing we did for many years at nearly every Tea Party event in the country, encouraging the Tea Party people to support only constitutionalists for public office, and encouraging them to oppose those who are not sincere constitutionalists, and to oppose policies that violate the Constitution.

Our message to Trump is that we will support him when he keeps his oath, and we will oppose him when he violates it, as is our duty under that oath.   We will hold his feet to the fire, but without burning him at the stake (as the left is trying to do).   We’ll give him a chance, but we expect to see him walk the straight an narrow on the Constitution.  That is our message.  If he does, we will support those actions with our lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.

3.  To stand up for the right to free speech and assembly for all Americans, regardless of their politics or views.    That is a bedrock human right of free thought, free speech, and to peaceably assemble that is non-negotiable and essential to a republican form of government, which must be guaranteed to the people of each state.  We will take our place at the front ranks of the defenders of the First Amendment against the violent thugs who are violating those rights and acting like true Brown Shirts as they use violence to suppress speech they don’t like.

4.  This does not change the fact that we are non-partisan, and we do not endorse candidates or parties, or raise money for them, as an org.  But that does not keep us from outreaching to the community as part of our mission to defend the Constitution which is a duty for each and every one of us (which is why we give our members start up outreach kits as part of their welcome to our org when they join, so they can step out and use their own initiative to do outreach in their community, as Oath Keepers).

Nor does  our non-partisan status prevent us from fulfilling our obligation to be defenders of the lives, liberty, and property of the American people, as we have already done on many, many occasions, such as when we protected recruiting centers across the nation against terrorists, when we protected shop owners and residents of Ferguson Missouri against violent arsonists who threatened to murder them (there were apartments above the shops with families living in them), and when we protected attendees at Trump’s Inauguration in DC on Jan 20 (and also protected some of the attendees of the “Deploraball” the night before), and when we provided both overt and covert security details at March 4 Trump rallies on March 4, and again at MAGA rallies on March 25.   Nor does it prevent us from carrying out our standing offer to protect police and military families who are under death threats or have been the targets of terrorism, as part of our “Operation Backstop” (aka “Operation Back Our Blue”).  We have done such actions on numerous occasions over the years, and we will continue to do so, as part of our CPT program (Community Preparedness Teams).    And, finally, we have had overt security teams at police lives matter/back the blue rallies as well.  That is also perfectly consistent with our duty to be the “Guardians of the Republic” and consistent with our motto of “Not on Our Watch.”

Given the reality of increased leftist terrorism, and the clear agenda to create a leftist “color revolution” in this nation to overthrow a duly elected President, and to overthrow our Constitution (the clear goal of the communists and anarchists) we have a duty to step out and be an overt presence at each of these rallies for all of the above reasons.

For the Republic,

Stewart Rhodes
