Video: Liberal Mayor Literally Cries After Argument With City Councilwoman Who Refused To Acknowledge Her “White Privilege”

In yet another astonishing example of unhinged liberalism, the mayor of New Brighton, Minnesota was recorded breaking down in tears after a councilwoman explained how her life history did not line up with the liberal claim that she had benefited from white privilege throughout her life.

The video footage, taken during a city council meeting on October 3rd of this year, starts with liberal councilwoman Mary Burg lecturing her peers as to why they should feel guilty for being white.

In her rambling speech, Burg seemingly suggested that the city council couldn’t even move forward with their job if they did not all accept that there life was easier for simply being white, regardless of actual life experiences.

“Okay, we all have white privilege. We don’t know what it’s like to not have it because we do. We go everywhere and we’re just, we have that. We, we don’t know the difference.

We don’t know what it’s like to not have it and I said we can’t do what, look at who’s up here. We can’t move forward as all being people of white privilege. We can’t, because we don’t know the difference of not having it.”

Burg’s assertions were then challenged by councilwoman Gina Bauman, who calmly explained her life story, complete with immigrant parents and a history of working hard to get where she is now.

“Because I’m white, you think I was privileged my whole life? Are you kidding?” Bauman countered. “I grew up in an Italian neighborhood. They came here, my grandfather came, they didn’t speak English, but they assimilated.”

“I resent that you think that I had white privilege,” Bauman continued before also noting that every single American citizen has privilege simply for living in the United States. (Of course this is a horrifying thought to the new liberal mindset)

“Everybody I work for, or with is usually from another country and they say to me, here’s what they say, is we as Americans don’t realize and it doesn’t matter what color we are as Americans, because I believe we are all Americans that are privileged to just live here.

“So I don’t want to think that this body doesn’t feel that they can’t represent people because they’re white, and that again to me is just saying, ‘I’m different because of color.’ No. I might be different because of culture, because of tradition, but those are the things that I think I always ask when I, cause I work with these people.”

“I ask about their country, I ask about their families, I ask how it is, how they feel about America. All of that. That’s how you get to know somebody. That’s how you get to understand where they come from, where their opinions come from. But I don’t think you can make such a broad brush and say that we’ve all been privileged or that we don’t understand because we’re white.”

The argument is then taken to another level completely when Mayor Val Johnson jumps in with the outlandish claim that Bauman is automatically racist for not immediately conforming to the new liberal orthodoxy.

“You are the exact reason we need this commission,” Johnson tells Bauman. “If you don’t understand white privilege then you are not representing those people. You’re not willing to listen to them and what you have just said is the most racist..”

Johnson is then cut off by Bauman who replied, “Excuse me, don’t you ever, ever accuse me of that. You have no basis to say something like that in public and no basis to say something like that.”

The liberal mayor then attempted to backtrack a bit while still calling Bauman’s own thoughts and personal history racist. Eventually the meeting got to the point that Johnson literally could not handle even being questioned about her beliefs, instead opting for anger and then tears.

“You’re interrupting me! And by golly I’m running this meeting!” Johnson loudly claimed as she slammed her hand down onto the table.

“You know what? We’re on camera and you’re accusing me of something pretty big here,” Bauman countered. “And it’s unacceptable because you have no case.”

“You’re out of order!” Johnson replied, almost fuming at the mouth over her liberal orthodoxy being questioned.

“Quit interrupting me. I’m gonna finish my statement. What I heard was a racist statement. What I heard was a racist statement. No you’re discrediting, I, Goddammit Gina, I’m passionate about this,” the mayor says before literally starting to cry. “I am so passionate about hearing the other sides of the story, and for you to disregard the fact that white privilege exists is beyond me.”

Liberalism has become synonymous with insanity!

Professor Claims Math, Algebra, And Geometry Promote "White Privilege"

A University of Illinois math professor believes that algebra and geometry perpetuate “white privilege” because Greek terms give Caucasians unearned credit for the subject.

But that isn’t the professor’s only complaint. She also believes that evaluations for math proficiency perpetuates discrimination against minority students, if they do worse than their white counterparts.

Rochelle Gutierrez argues in a newly published math education book for teachers that they must be aware of the identity politics surrounding the subject of mathematics.

“On many levels, mathematics itself operates as Whiteness,” she argues with complete sincerity, according to Campus Reform.

 

“Who gets credit for doing and developing mathematics, who is capable in mathematics, and who is seen as part of the mathematical community is generally viewed as White.”

Gutierrez argues that subjects like algebra and geometry, which relate to arithmetic, also perpetuate racism and white privilege. She worries that “curricula emphasizing terms like Pythagorean theorem and pi perpetuate a perception that mathematics was largely developed by Greeks and other Europeans.”

Gutierrez claims that the importance of math skills in the real world also places what she calls an “unearned privilege” for those who are good at it. Because most math teachers in the United States are white, white people stand to benefit from their grasp of the subject disproportionate to members of other races.

“Are we really that smart just because we do mathematics?” she asks, raising the question as to why math professors get more grants than “social studies or English” professors.

 

“If one is not viewed as mathematical, there will always be a sense of inferiority that can be summoned,” she says, claiming that minorities “have experienced microaggressions from participating in math classrooms… [where people are] judged by whether they can reason abstractly.”

To resolve the intelligence gap, Gutierrez calls on math professors to develop a sense of “political conocimiento,” a Spanish term for “political knowledge for teaching.”

She concludes her argument with the claim that all knowledge is “relational,” or is, in other words, relative. “Things cannot be known objectively; they must be known subjectively.”

Another Professor, Another Mob

If social-justice warriors can come for a man like Bret Weinstein, they can come for anyone.

Evergreen State College, a small liberal-arts school in Washington State, has long had an interesting tradition. Each year, there is a “Day of Absence” on which students and faculty members of color meet off campus to hold solidarity-building activities, leaving the remaining community members to recognize the absence — and thus the value — of their peers. Later there is a “Day of Presence,” with similar activities but for the entire campus community.

But this year, the event changed. On the April 12 Day of Absence, minority students and faculty remained on campus, while whites were asked to leave. According to the local student newspaper, the decision reflected concerns following the 2016 election that students of color no longer felt comfortable on campus. This was to be their chance to reassert their right to belong on campus . . . by asking everyone else of a particular skin color to leave.

One liberal biology professor, Bret Weinstein, took issue with this change. Weinstein wrote a powerful e-mail to his colleagues on March 15. Deeply respectful and generous in tone, he made a simple point: There is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and underappreciated roles . . . and a group or coalition encouraging another group to go away.

The first is a forceful call to consciousness which is, of course, crippling to the logic of oppression. The second is a show of force, and an act of oppression in and of itself. You may take this letter as a formal protest of this year’s structure, and you may assume I will be on campus on the Day of Absence.

For this fundamentally liberal argument and act of protest, Professor Weinstein has been pilloried. More than that, those words — words forming as reasonable a dissent as any — incited a mob on Tuesday. Students occupied and barricaded the campus library, and accosted Weinstein outside his classroom.

As you can see in this video, the mob surrounded him, yelled at him, swore at him, and openly admitted they did not want to allow him to respond. In the video, Weinstein nobly seeks to engage in “dialectic” with the student protesters, hoping to use “disagreement to discover the truth.” For a professor of biology, this is rather impressive stuff. But he misjudges the mob. “We don’t care what terms you want to speak on,” one student explains to supportive cheers. “This is not about you. We are not speaking on terms — on terms of white privilege. This is not a discussion. You have lost that one.”

The mob vindicates Professor Weinstein’s argument. It does not want to reason. It wants to show its force, show what it can do to anyone who dares to dissent. It does not want to have to contend with Professor Weinstein’s basic point: “On a college campus, one’s right to speak — or to be — should never be based on skin color.”

Instead, the mob calls for the professor to resign or be fired. The mob wants him gone. It believes that people who disagree with it should not have a place in the university.

Kennesaw State University Segregates White Students For "Privilege Workshop"

For all you parents who have spent the past month bragging about which college recently accepted your snowflake and dreaming about the career doors that will be opened up courtesy of an elite education and your $50,000 annual tuition checks, here is a dose of reality about what your student is actually about to be subjected to. 

Kennesaw State University recently hosted a workshop for their snowflakes called "Being, Becoming, and Fostering Allies: Building Relationship Across Privilige."  The workshop, hosted by 3 psychology professors and a doctoral student, billed itself more or less as a crash course on relationship development. 

Panelists will highlight the essential conceptual, relational, and emotional processes involved in ally development, using their long-standing relationships to illustrate key concepts and identify and model strategies for enacting ally intentions. Panelists will explore the ongoing process of developing and fostering allies and the challenges that emerge in these journeys. Presenters will discuss the essential roles of self-reflection, cultural humility action, and re-engagement after failures, as well as the qualities of relationships that facilitate ally development.

But, when it came time to split up into breakout sessions, the enlightened psych professors thought it would be great idea to segregate the white students so they could reflect on their "white privilege" in solitude.

And while that may seem hard to believe for anyone who hasn"t spent much time around our "institutions of higher indoctrination" in recent years, here is a copy of the workshop flyer from HeatStreet:

Not surprisingly, a spokeswoman from Kennesaw State said the whole situation was simply being "mischaracterized" as segregation...

“The goal of the workshop, which was led by an outside expert, was to foster learning and create an environment of understanding and support for one another,” said Kennesaw State University spokeswoman Tammy DeMel. “Attendees were asked to work together and then were invited to join the group with which they identify.”

The April 13 event “is being mischaracterized” as segregation, DeMel added.

...of course, because how could anyone misconstrue the physical separation of students, based solely on the color of their skin, as "segregation"?
