Solar Energy Breakthroughs Review And Giveaway

Solar Energy Breakthroughs

Puerto Rico’s power grid crisis has triggered renewed interest in solar energy. That’s what happens when a hurricane takes down 100 percent of a U.S. territory’s power grid and leaves millions of people in the dark.

And it’s only going to get worse: The hurricane was so devastating that 75 percent of the island likely will be without electricity for months as the power grid is rebuilt, pole by pole, line by line.

The U.S. mainland is not immune to such devastation, either. America’s power grid is the oldest in the developed world – and the most poorly designed, too. While other countries place their power lines below ground, our power grid remains above ground, leaving it susceptible to storms. No wonder we have more blackouts than other nations!

All it takes is a major earthquake – or a cyberattack or terrorist attack – to take out most or all of the grid and send us back to the 1800s.

America’s renewed interest in solar energy, though, has left many people asking a series of questions: Where do I start? Can I afford to go solar? Should I go with a stationary or portable system? Can I maintain my lifestyle with solar? And what’s the difference in AC and DC?

That’s where the book “Solar Energy Breakthroughs” can help. Written by a solar energy expert, this simple book tells you everything you need to know to buy your first solar power system. At 160 pages with 17 short chapters, it proves just enough detail without getting too complex. It’s written for beginners!

Here’s the best news: For the next two weeks, we’re giving away 100 copies of “Solar Energy Breakthroughs” … for free! Normally this book sells for $19.97, but because of the devastating hurricanes, we’re giving away 100 copies to our Off The Grid News readers and their friends.

It’s easy to get one. All you need to do is watch the video and follow the steps listed below.

Solar Survival Lantern Review And Giveaway

Solar Survival Lantern for post

Most homes have some form of backup emergency light, but most homes don’t have the right type.

Here’s what we mean: If the power was out for several days in your town, would your backup lights still work? If it requires Duracells, Energizers or a wall outlet, it probably won’t. And what if you need to carry it across town – perhaps even in a torrential downpour? Is it lightweight and waterproof? Probably not.

Fortunately, we’ve found the solution to your emergency light dilemma. It’s called the Solar Survival Lantern, and we’re giving one away to everyone for the next two weeks.

Without a doubt, it’s the best portable, lightweight emergency light we’ve found.

First, it weighs only 4 ounces. Seriously, you could carry 20 of these in a backpack, and you’d barely even know it.

Second, it’s solar-powered and will provide up to 12 hours of light. Even better, it has three modes: low light, high light, and strobe (great if you have roadside emergencies!).

Third, it’s waterproof – and floats. If you ever are around water, this is the emergency light you need.
Fourth, it’s tiny. It’s only 1-inch tall when deflated and 4-inches tall when inflated.

And, finally, it has handles on each end. You can hang it on a tree limb, a plant hanger … whatever!

If you’re ever off-grid and need emergency light, this is the thing you need.

Be sure to watch the video (there’s some great uses the team talks about) and get all the details below on how to get your own Solar Survival Lantern for free. Or if you want more than one, you can buy as many as you’d like here.

Pocket Power X Review And Giveaway

Pocket Power X

Have you seen the Pocket Power X? It’s a great portable power supply that will do just about anything.

Well, we’re giving one away for free to a lucky Off The Grid News reader. Yep, that’s right: If you earn the most points (find out how below), you’ll pay zero, zilch, nada and get this great emergency and survival tool for free.

The PPX is a lithium-ion power pack that really packs a wallop. Its revolutionary new battery will provide enough power for just about any emergency you can think of. It can be charged off the house current, your car or even the sun, with the optional solar panel (the winner will get one of those too!).

Phone dead? Why use one of those little battery packs that can’t even fully charge it up? The PPX will allow you to charge your phone several times — or charge two phones at once — using its dual USB ports.

Car battery dead? No problem. This surprising little power pack will jump start any car with a dead battery. I even started mine 10 times in a row (with the car’s battery disconnected, just to see if it could do it). When I was done, it still had lots more power.

This handy power pack provides outputs in 5 volts DC, 12 volts DC (special jumper cable connection), and 19 volts DC for powering a laptop. The most common laptop power connectors are included, so you can use it with virtually any brand.

The PPX comes with the 110 Mobile, a compact 120 volt AC voltage inverter that connects to the 12 volt output. This allows you to use the PPX to power a whole host of other devices, which normally require you being at home and having the power on. That increases its utility.

For electrical power on the road, at home in an emergency or even while camping, the PPX provides whatever you need. It’s a great little unit.

And now, you’ve got an opportunity to get one for free. Just follow the directions below to throw your name in the hat to win your very own. Or, if you don’t want to wait to get your own, click here to buy one.

Freedom Lantern Review And Giveaway

When lightning strikes your town and the power goes out at night, what do you do? Incredibly, most people still reach for candles, even though they’re the cause of nearly 2,000 house fires each year in America.

We’ve discovered the solution to problem, and it’s a light that won’t ever start a fire.

It’s called the Freedom Lantern, and for the next two weeks you can win one. But before we share the details on the contest, let’s discuss what makes this gadget so great.

First, it looks just like a kerosene lantern but is cool to the touch. The LED light won’t set the curtains or the couch on fire – or the toilet paper, for that matter. No more worrying about the kids getting too close to the candles.

Second, it’s easily rechargeable, thanks to the USB cord that’s included. And with the super-efficient LED bulbs inside, we’ve had customers tell us they’ve used it for days and days – with it still running.

Third, it has a dim switch, allowing you to use it for bright emergency light during a storm or simply as a faint bedtime reading light during normal times.

Here’s the coolest part: the light flickers just like a candle – and you can literally blow it out. (The kids and grandkids will love that part of it – watch the video to see it in action.)

This is one of our most popular products, and once you have one, you’ll see why.

If you don’t want to wait for the contest to end and want to buy right away, click here to buy your own Freedom Lantern.

Briefcase Backup Review And Giveaway

Everyone likes giveaways, right? I mean, who doesn’t throw their name in the hat when there’s a chance to win something? And if it’s a really good prize, they’ll really want to win.

Well, we’ve got a really good prize for you. We’re giving away one of our Briefcase Backup units. Yeah, that’s right — the portable electric power unit that we sell for $497 and others sell for double that … we’re giving one away.

This is a great unit, providing you with 120-volt AC, 12-volt DC (cigarette lighter adapter) and 5-volt DC (via USB) for running just about anything you might want to run when you’re out camping, fishing, hunting, at the beach or even on the top of a mountain, backpacking. It also will provide you a source of emergency electric power whenever the lights go out. In today’s world, that’s a necessity.

The two internal 10-watt, monocrystalline solar panels will recharge the unit, so even when you’re waaaaay out there and can’t plug it in to recharge, you can still have electrical power. That’s a real convenience, and it’s all self-contained in a rugged, military-style ABS plastic case, with a carrying handle, just like a briefcase. When opened, the solar panels recharge the internal battery and when closed, there’s an access panel to get to the power connections. There’s even a LCD display, so you’ll know how much power you’ve got left.

How’s that for a giveaway? Others are doing drawings for $50 items, but we’re giving away something that’s worth 10 times that much … or even more if you count what others are charging for it.

So, what’s to lose? Wouldn’t you like to take this baby along on your next little trip? You know you don’t want to miss out.
