Hacking The Power Grid: They Can Induce Blackouts On American Soil AT WILL

power-grid4

The American power grid has been hacked.  It also appears that these hackers may take down the entire grid “at will” and induce blackouts when and where they choose.

For an unknown reason, however, the hackers restrained themselves from taking down the power like they did in Ukraine recently.  They simply hacked their way into the system, although speculation is that they just wanted to look around…for now.

You could have seen this one coming a mile away. The narrative is taking shape, folks. The boogie men are being put into place… and when the time is right, “The Powers That Shouldn’t Be”, will send the signal to their henchmen to set off the next crisis, stoking fear in everyone’s hearts. Out of chaos, order! –The Daily Sheeple

A report by internet security experts, Symantec, says that a hacking group called Dragonfly 2.0 has gained access to 20 power company networks.

The targets were in the United States, Turkey, and Switzerland. According to Symantec, the hackers did gain access to the interface they would need to control the power equipment, with which they could cause a widespread blackout.

According to one expert, they were just in there looking around. John Hultquist, a researcher for FireEye security, said of another such intrusion, “In our experience groups that have solely targeted energy like this have been carrying out reconnaissance for attack.” –Organic Prepper

Yet Fortune claims that we should not “freak out” because these hackers got into the power grid.  Fortune went on to say that the American power grid is complex and a take down would be difficult. (Yeah.  So complex hackers can’t get in…oh, wait…) But mainly they simply state without any evidence to back up the subjective statement, that adversaries seeking to take down the grid are at the beginning of their journey of destruction, and not at the end.

These adversaries had access to the networks that operate the industrial equipment used to power our country. That sounds scary. But the belief pushed by governments, Hollywood movie scripts, and media headlines for years—that we are standing on the brink of cyber-induced blackouts and mass chaos—is misinformed. Our adversaries are at the starting point of their journey to cause significant disruption to our power grid, not the finish line. –Fortune

But that isn’t comforting to those who understand what a power grid failure would look like, in the grand scheme of things. Disabeling large portions of the grid would cause chaos.  And many, including Symantec, appear to think this was a much bigger issue than initially thought. While the cyber security company believes that this hack was to just “poke around,” it signals that those seeking to do harm are moving onto their next phase of an attack. With recent campaigns potentially providing them with access to operational systems, access could be used for more disruptive purposes in future.

Back in July of this year, hackers got into an American nuclear power plant in Kansas. On the bright side, they were just into the business side of the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant near Burlington, Kansas, and did not obtain access to the controls. But it’s still pretty unsettling that they’d even get that close. If someone was able to get into the control section, not only could they cause a power outage, but they could potentially disable the nuclear safeguards. Eric Chien suspects that while this hack was originally blamed on the Russians (because, really, what isn’t blamed on the Russians?) that the Dragonfly 2.0 hackers were the ones who were responsible. “It’s highly unlikely this is just coincidental.” –The Organic Prepper

The Organic Prepper also points out that it’s hard to miss the fact that this could be nothing more than a red flag event.

Symantec’s report refuses to disclose which power plants were compromised, but there seems to be no doubt the hackers were able to gain access to operational control of them. And while this has been going on for a few years now, they’re getting bolder and nearly have the pieces in place to widespread sabotage our power grid.

Some code strings in the malware were in Russian. However, some were also in French, which indicates that one of these languages may be a false flag. Conflicting evidence and what appear to be attempts at misattribution make it difficult to definitively state where this attack group is based or who is behind it. –The Organic Prepper

Advancements in technology have made manual controls obsolete. Meaning that controlling the power grid is a matter of know-how and internet prowess.  Cyber warfare is the war of the future and there is more and more proof that it isn’t a matter of if, but when.

French President Macron’s Short-Lived Honeymoon

French President Macron’s Short-Lived Honeymoon | emmanuel-macron-french-president | Special Interests World News

The former Rothschild banker, economy minister’s honeymoon began by defeating Marine Le Pen decisively on May 7.

Two weeks later, opinion polls showed 62% of respondents viewed him favorably.

His fall from grace was swift, an early August YouGov poll, showing his approval rating plunged to 36% – the lowest ever for a French president this early in his tenure.

He’s accused of ignoring his core supporters. WikiLeaks published thousands of embarrassing emails relating to his campaign and earlier.

Italian psychiatrist Dr. Adriano Segator called him a “dangerous psychopath,” saying “we have a case of full-blown narcissism.”

“When he talks about the poor or insults the workers of northern France, reducing them to smokers and alcoholics, when he denigrates women, lowering them to the level of the ignorant, we have returned to the ideas perfectly explained by Jacques Lacan.”

“Emmanuel Macron, like all psychopaths, is highly dangerous.” He’s a neoliberal reactionary, representing destructive establishment interests, fundamentally against ordinary French citizens and others abroad, allied with US imperialism.

He favors greater privatizations for maximum profits over popular rights and needs.

He supports corporate tax cuts, lower labor costs aiding business at workers’ expense, reduced social spending and deregulation – claiming neoliberal harshness will stimulate economic growth.

Military cuts he proposed got armed forces chief Pierre de Villiers to resign, saying the army had already “given everything away,” adding he would not let himself be “screwed this way.”

French political analyst Maxim Sokolov said his plunge in popular support is “doubly significant, considering that no force majeure circumstances (economic crisis, major terrorist act, military catastrophe, etc.) took place” on his watch so far.

Falling from public grace is one thing. If France’s military rejects him, he’s got a major problem on his hands.

According to Sokolov, he hasn’t done “anything terrible in practical terms” so far. “The truth is much worse than that.”

“He did nothing at all, continuing to make spectacular speeches against pompous scenery, as if the election campaign did not end on May 7, but will continue eternally.”

His rapid plunge in popularity shows most people in France aren’t buying it.

Le Pen on Her Way to “Liberate” France from Globalism

Le Pen on Her Way to “Liberate” France from Globalism | le-pen-france | Globalism World News (image: voanews.com)

(The Real Agenda News) Marie Le Pen is officially a contestant for the presidency of France. Le Pen, lived on Sunday, the most important night of her political career. The leader of the National Front (FN) did not only get that much closer to moving into the Elysee, but she has also advanced the political project handed down to her by her father Jean-Marie Le Pen.

During almost all the electoral campaign, her passage to the second round was seen as a given, becoming the rival to beat by one of the other candidates. A defeat probably would have questioned her permanence at the head of the National Front.

The people’s candidate, as presented to her followers, after 9 pm local time, an hour after the closure of all polling stations, celebrated in her fief of Hénin-Beaumont a “historical result and the first stage to take the French people back to the Elysee,” she proclaimed.

Facing her second-round duel with Macron, whom he called “the heir of Hollande,” Le Pen appealed to “all the French patriots” to support her to achieve “a great alternation to liberate the French people” and promised to defend it against “rampant globalization” with her “France First” project. Her plan includes decreasing mass immigration by closing national borders.

Congregated in the François Mitterrand Center, a vestige of a socialist past, the National Front militants had waited for the results with increased tension during the afternoon.

When Le Pen’s pass to the second round was confirmed, the room burst into cheers, hymns and applause, but it was not the great party that Le Pen herself had wanted.

“I am quite happy that she has managed to make it to the second round, but also disappointed by the mobilization of the French patriots,” said Teo Lebland, a 21-year-old from one of the local constituencies.

Even so, the closing of ranks around Le Pen on Sunday was total. In the FN there is cohesion cohesion around the project of Marine Le Pen, including his father, although they have had a disagreement, he has said that he supports his daughter’s project. There is electoral cohesion even if there is a disagreement over ideas.

According to Jean Messiha, leader of the presidential program of Le Pen, the mere fact of being in the second round, something that did not happen in the first attempt, in 2012, is already a recognition to a long work of regeneration.

“The fact of being in the second round is a beautiful reward for this campaign that she has carried out for months, if not years, and today is the consecration of a work that has consisted of convincing citizens of the accuracy of our diagnosis and the relevance of our measures,” he said at Hénin-Beaumont.

I am sure that Jean-Luc Mélenchon and François Fillon would have wanted this victory,” said Hénin-Beaumont’s mayor, Steve Briois, in reference to the other two leading candidates defeated on Sunday. “Marine Le Pen has progressed a lot since 2012, if that is not a good dynamic, I do not know what it is,” he insisted.

But his words did not just convey the security at the National Front, that saw how rival Macron began to receive support from the entire political sphere as soon as the results were known.

They say that if they add up the votes received by some of the “small candidates”, those who went to Jean Lasalle, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan or François Asselineau, more euphoric even than Le Pen, her strength will multiply. But no calculation predicts that it will be strong enough to defeat Macron, who now becomes the only obstacle against French nationalism.
