James Comey Says Deep State Doesn’t Exist, Then Describes The Deep State’s Existence

Former FBI director James Comey, who was fired, said during a question and answer session that there is no deep state right before describing the existence of the deep state perfectly. He simply called it a “deep culture” instead.

The context, as reported by Twitchy, was a question about what would happen if Trump were to fire special counsel Robert Mueller. Comey was specifically addressing whether those under Trump would adhere to such an order or not. “I don’t know. That’s a really interesting question,” Comey begins. “I think there’s an argument to be made that it would be utterly ineffective in practice.” And why, exactly would it be “ineffective” for Trump to fire Mueller? Because of the deep state, wait…no…the “deep culture.”

“You’d have to fire the entire FBI and the entire justice department for two reasons,” Comey says.  The first reason is that Comey doesn’t think Trump could find an executive willing to carry out the order to fire Mueller. And the second reason firing Mueller would be ineffective is because of the “deep culture.”

“There is no deep state, but there’s a deep culture and commitment to the rule of law that runs all the way down through not just the Department of Justice and the FBI but the military services and the intelligence community. It would be interesting to see what would happen next,” Comey said.

It is absolutely fascinating that Comey described what he just previously said didn’t exist. But we all remember who Comey really is: the deep state puppet who let Hillary Clinton off the hook.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has discovered that edits made to former FBI Director James Comey’s statement exonerating Hillary Clinton for transmitting classified info over an unsecured, private email server went far beyond what was previously known, as detailed in a Thursday letter from committee chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) to FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The letter reveals specific edits made by senior FBI agents when Deputy Director Andrew McCabe exchanged drafts of Comey’s statement with senior FBI officials, including Peter Strzok, Strzok’s direct supervisor, E.W. “Bill” Priestap, Jonathan Moffa, and an unnamed employee from the Office of General Counsel (identified by Newsweek as DOJ Deputy General Counsel Trisha Anderson) – in what was a coordinated conspiracy among top FBI brass to decriminalize Clinton’s conduct by changing legal terms and phrases, omitting key information, and minimizing the role of the Intelligence Community in the email investigation. Doing so virtually assured that then-candidate Hillary Clinton would not be prosecuted. -Zerohedge

Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC) says the release of the FISA memo will ‘shake the FBI to its core’ as he revealed that the document exposes how the agency was weaponized by Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration to spy on the Trump campaign.

Democrats appear to be becoming increasingly desperate as the release of the memo draws nearer, with reports suggesting it could be made public on Friday morning.

Nancy Pelosi called on Speaker Paul Ryan to remove the author of the memo Devin Nunes from the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, accusing him of “deliberately dishonest actions”.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder also claimed that the memo was “bogus” and “contrived,” an ambitious statement given that he hasn’t read it, before describing its potential release as “dangerous and irresponsible”.

FBI Director Christopher Wray is reportedly pressuring the White House to redact all names in the memo prior to its release, which would undoubtedly dilute its impact.

Speculation is now raging that Wray could resign if the memo is released, although others insist that this threat is just a tactic to prevent Trump from green lighting the release of the memo.

As we reported earlier, according to Judicial Watch’s Chris Farrell, Trump is being “threatened” by the FBI to not release the memo in order to cover-up their own rampant corruption which is set to be exposed in the four page document.

Report: Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe “SET UP” Trump White House In Operation That STARTED The Fake News ‘Obstruction Of Justice” Charge

A new book on the media’s relationship with the Trump White House has revealed a FBI operation to specifically set up a senior member of the Trump administration in a move that eventually led to the original claims of obstruction of justice against the president.

According to the book, “Media Madness,” by Howard Kurtz, then deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe called White House chief of staff Reince Priebus shortly after the release of a fake news report in the New York Times to ask to speak to him privately, telling him that “everything” in the article was “bullsh*t” and not to be believed.

The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway reports:

McCabe claimed to want Priebus to know the FBI’s perspective that this story was not true. Priebus pointed to the televisions that were going non-stop on the story. He asked if the FBI could say publicly what he had just told him. McCabe said he’d have to check, according to the book.

McCabe reportedly called back and said he couldn’t do anything about it. Then-FBI director James Comey reportedly called later and also said he couldn’t do anything, but did offer to brief the Senate Intelligence Committee on the matter later that week, suggesting they’d spill the beans publicly.

There seems to be a disparity between what FBI officials tell reporters under the cloak of anonymity and what they admit under oath or to those who are more knowledgeable of the matters at hand. Opponents of President Trump, be they the media, Democratic activists, or Never Trump Republicans, are moving on from Russia conspiracies to claims of obstruction of justice.

The McCabe initiated conversation with the White House was then quickly leaked to CNN, which gave cover for the entire mainstream media to spread disinformation regarding President Trump and his supposed obstruction of justice. (That literally didn’t happen)

An excerpt from Kurtz’s book makes clear that Priebus himself felt like he had been set up, not only by Andrew McCabe but also by James Comey himself.

Now, a week later, CNN was airing a breaking news story naming Priebus. According to ‘multiple U.S. officials,’ the network said, ‘the FBI rejected a White House request to publicly knock down media reports about communications between Donald Trump’s associates and Russians known to U.S. intelligence.’

Priebus was stunned by the implication that he was pressuring law enforcement. Had he been set up? Why was the FBI leaking this information when one of its top officials had initiated the conversation?

That’s right, the man who just stepped down from the FBI, the same man who the mainstream media has claimed has done nothing wrong, was the person who set up a meeting with the White House that was designed to then make it look as if Trump was pressuring the bureau regarding the Russian probe itself.

Or, in other words, a direct SET UP on the democratically elected President of the United States.

“Partisan operatives in or close to the FBI communicated snippets of information with reporters who didn’t demand proof or substantiation, then FBI officials denied to White House officials who knew the facts that they were seeding that information, then officials suggested that White House operatives were obstructing justice by asking for the truth to out. At a time when people are looking for patterns, this is a pattern of improper behavior that deserves focus from the media,” Hemingway concluded.

Make no mistake, this is hardcore, deep state level corruption and possible treason, aided DIRECTLY by the likes of CNN and the New York Times.

Health Ranger: Mainstream Media Is A Part Of The Biggest Scandal In US History

The FBI is currently masterminding the most egregious political crime of the century, according to Mike Adams, the Health Ranger.  All of the masterminds in power have now been exposed but it’s time to expose the media too.

The mainstream media is covering up the FBI, deep state, and Democrats scandal because they are a part of this.  It’s their job to use propaganda to alter public opinion and they have done it well.

Adams starts his podcast by revealing what we already know: the mainstream media is lying to us.  But then he says that we should prepare to have our minds blown. “The ‘house of cards’ of the FBI scandal, the corrupt deep state FBI run by criminal-minded individuals…this house of cards is crumbling by the day,” Adams says.

It’s no secret anymore that the FBI was protecting Hillary Clinton while trying to basically invent stories about Donald Trump.  Adams goes into detail about the nefarious action the FBI took to protect the corruption and criminal activities of the left while doing everything in their power to demean Trump. “It’s one set of laws for the Clintons and a completely different set of laws for everybody else,” Adams says.

This is the biggest political conspiracy in US history, says Adams, and the media is intentionally covering for Democrats and the deep state.  Their propaganda has taken hold though, and it will take a concerted effort of revealing the truth in order to undo the brainwashing that has taken place.

Independent media has been nailing this story and it is a story for the ages. Adams makes several good points.  The government is corrupt, the media is biased and a part of the corruption and scandals are ignored by the everyday American because propaganda is easier to absorb than the truth. BREAKING: FBI Releases Docs Claiming RT Founder Beat Himself To Death In His Hotel Room

The FBI just released the results of their investigation claiming that the media mogul and found of RT killed himself by repeatedly smashing his head and upper body into the ground.

Washington D.C. — In November 2015, the Free Thought Project reported that Mikhail Lesin, the former head of media affairs for the Russian government, and the founder of Russia Today (RT), was found dead in the hotel room that he was staying at in Washington DC.

Originally, authorities announced that Lesin died from a heart attack. However, the results of his autopsy released months later indicated a far more sinister cause of death and the heavily redacted FBI documents that were just released add to that story.

The documents, detailing the FBI investigation into Lesin’s death were just released Saturday morning in spite of the investigation ending in October of 2016.

In spite of the original cause of death noted as a heart attack, a few months later, the District of Colombia’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) and Metropolitan Police Department said that “blunt force injuries of the neck, torso, upper extremities and lower extremities” contributed to Lesin’s death. “The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) has released the cause and manner of death for Mikhail Lesin… Cause of Death: blunt force injuries of the head,” the statement said.

Now, FBI investigators have released the results of their investigation claiming that the blunt force trauma all over his body was self-inflicted.

“Mr. Lesin died as a result of blunt for injuries to his head, with contributing causes being blunt force injuries of the neck, torso, upper extremities, and lower extremities, which were induced by falls, with acute ethanol intoxication,” the report states.

In other words, the FBI is claiming that Lesin got so drunk that he repeatedly and violently fell on things until he killed himself.

To show just how much information the FBI is willing to release on these findings, here is the version of the amended autopsy report they released in the report.

Essentially, all other information in regards to the findings of Lesin’s death has been scrubbed from the documents as the remaining pages are almost entirely redacted.

Not only did the US remain tight-lipped on the investigation but they also refused to allow Russian authorities to cooperate.

As RT reports, back in 2016, months before the closing of the case, Moscow said it was expecting Washington to explain why Russia had not received any details from the probe into Lesin’s death, despite repeated requests.

“We are awaiting the related clarifications from Washington and the official data on the progress of the investigation,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote in a Facebook post at that time. She added that if the media reports citing the forensic statement are confirmed, Russia will send an official request to the US “for international legal assistance.”

In October 2016, the US authorities announced that Lesin died of natural causes and closed the case. “Based on the evidence, including video footage and witness interviews, Mr. Lesin entered his hotel room on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, after days of excessive consumption of alcohol and sustained the injuries that resulted in his death while alone in his hotel room,” the US attorney for the District of Columbia said in a statement.

Lesin’s death came at a time where he was surrounded by controversy, especially in the US. RT, the Russian-based news source that Lesin founded has become very controversial in the US—ostensibly for the fake Russiagate scandal—but in reality, for challenging the western narrative of foreign policy and privacy issues. Some US politicians have suggested that RT be banned in the US for “spreading propaganda,” while others have been blatant enough to attack Lesin personally.

According to the NY Times, until late 2014 Lesin ran the media wing of the state’s energy giant, Gazprom, before stepping down or, more likely, being forced out. He ended up in the United States, where he and his family owned properties in Los Angeles said to be worth far more than the salary of the former government minister.

Some US Senators, including Roger Wicker of Mississippi, had called for the Department of Justice to open an investigation into Lesin’s finances prior to his death.

Wicker was concerned that Lesin made too much money, something that was really none of his business.

“That a Russian public servant could have amassed the considerable funds required to acquire and maintain these assets in Europe and the United States raises serious questions,” Wicker said.

The original announcement of the heart attack back in November 2015 makes this case all the more ominous considering the fact that the medical examiner’s office also said Lesin’s body had blunt force trauma to the neck, torso, arms and legs too. How did authorities overlook his wounds?

As RT reports, Lesin was considered one of the most influential figures in the Russian media landscape. A graduate of Moscow State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, he served as Minister of Press and Mass Media from 1999 to 2004. He was also a presidential media adviser from 2004 to 2009. Lesin became chief executive officer at Garprom-Media in 2013 and remained in the position until early 2015.

“Why Are They Still Here?”: FBI Agents Wonder Why Anti-Trump Clinton Operatives Within The Bureau Still Have A Job

The recently revealed text messages from Clinton operatives within the FBI that spoke about a “secret society” within the agency that met to discuss ways to take out President Trump have led many to question how those involved still have a job at the agency despite the mounting evidence of widespread corruption.

Keep in mind that it has already been revealed that top counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, along with his mistress, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, were directly involved in a conspiracy to protect their preferred presidential candidate in Hillary Clinton while doing everything in their power to hurt her opponent, Donald Trump.

Now we know that those two, along with a slew of others within the federal government, actually continued their operation against Trump after he was democratically elected, even taking their conspiracy so far as to set up a sort of secret society which included the same key figures who helped jump start the sham Russian investigation in the first place.

Amazingly, there are apparently agents with the FBI itself who are just as angry about said conspiracy as are the American people and are now telling reporters that they are concerned that those involved still work for the FBI in any capacity.

According to a report from investigative journalist Sara Carter, agents within the FBI have told her that they question how anti-Trump operatives such as Strzok and Page even still have a job after all the shocking revelations surrounding their work to protect Clinton and hurt Trump.

Real Clear Politics reports:

Carter pointed out that previously revealed Strzok-Page texts alluded to an “insurance policy” that could be used if Trump won the presidency.

“Their worst nightmare has come true, the president is elected. That is something they did not expect. FBI sources said from the very beginning that they didn’t want Trump to make it into office.”

“I’m concerned that they’re still working at the FBI,” Carter said. “I’m hearing from my sources, too. FBI agents are saying, ‘Why are they still there?"”

“The Lovebirds. They were having an affair, they were both married, they’re working counter-intelligence. That’s enough for blackmail,” Carter said. “Now they’re sending text messages on an unsecured phone. Believe me, the Germans, the Russians, the Israelis, everybody is going into those phones and trying to suck out all the information they have.”

One has to wonder if they simply know too much and cannot be fully fired over fears that they may spill the beans on the entire conspiracy which many now believe to be worse than Watergate.

Carter also touched on the laughable claim that the missing text messages (from a key point when those involved would actually be carrying out key parts of the conspiracy) were lost due to some sort of cellphone glitch.

About the FBI’s claim that the Samsung phones are responsible for the 50,000 additional missing text messages, Carter says: “I can tell you this, a lot of people within the DOJ, possibly even the inspector general himself, a lot of people within these committees do not buy this.“

“Extreme Pro-Hillary Clinton Bias”: Congressman Reveals FBI Operation To Help Clinton Get Out Of The Email Scandal With An “HQ Special”

In yet another bombshell surrounding the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has revealed that there is evidence that the upper echelon of the agency planned too, and then gave Clinton special treatment.

Appearing on FNC’s “America’s Newsroom,” Gaetz told the network that a congressional committee currently has email evidence that Clinton supporter and FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe had indicated that Clinton was going to get an “HQ special” which apparently meant she going to receive special treatment in an investigation that was actually carried out by agents who supported her for president.

Gaetz also noted his belief that there was an extreme pro-Hillary Clinton bias running through the agency which benefited Clinton greatly.

“The Judiciary Committee is engaged in an investigation, particularly as it relates to the handling of the Hillary Clinton email scandal and any potential investigations of the Clinton Foundation and the handling of bribes or other types of improper payments,” Gaetz noted.

“I can certainly say that my impression after these interviews is that there was extreme pro-Hillary Clinton bias that benefited her in this investigation and that she received special treatment as a consequence of her candidacy for president. That shouldn’t happen. The law should apply equally to all Americans whether they’re political candidates or not. And so, we need to institute reforms through the Judiciary Committee for more oversight, for more transparency so that this never happens again.”

Gaetz went on to explain that standard procedures may not have been followed when Clinton was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.

Keep in mind the fact that it would be literal insanity to believe that agents who openly supported Hillary Clinton and hated Donald Trump would then actually fairly investigate her.

“Our view is we need to find out if whether or not the procedures were departed from and we have email evidence from Andrew McCabe indicating that Hillary Clinton was going to get an ‘HQ Special,’ a headquarters special. That meant that the normal processes of the Washington field office weren’t followed and he had a special,” Gaetz continued.

“And he had a very small group of people that had a pro-Hillary Clinton bias who had a direct role in changing that investigation from one that likely should have been criminal to one where she was able to walk. And so I think that we’ve gotta ensure that that never happens again,  that the same processes that would apply to any American would also apply to people who were running for president of the United States.”

The evidence is simply overwhelming. High-level FBI agents used their political agendas to not only help Hillary Clinton but also to specifically hurt Donald Trump.

Major Scandal: U.S. Congressman Says That There Was A ‘Concerted Effort’ Within The FBI To Help Hillary Clinton Win The Election

Did the FBI attempt to swing the outcome of the 2016 election in a certain direction? I know that question sounds completely outrageous, but this is exactly what one member of Congress is now claiming. For a long time we have known that elements within the Deep State have been actively working to undermine the Trump administration, but now solid evidence is emerging that the interference by the Deep State actually began during the presidential election. As more details come out, this could easily become one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history.

If you think that I am exaggerating, please consider what U.S. Representative Jim Jordan told Lou Dobbs just the other day…

It gets worse each and every day… What deep down scares me, if this actually happened the FBI had a concerted effort with the people at the top to go after one party’s nominee to help the other party’s nominee. If that actually happened in the United States of America and everything each and every day points to more and more likely that that is what took place, it is sad for our country if that took place. And I think it did based on everything I am seeing. All the evidence points to that.

So what kind of evidence are we talking about?

Well, I am sure that Jordan has access to evidence that we currently do not, but one thing that we do have are extremely chilling text messages sent between FBI agent Peter Strzok and lawyer Lisa Page.  The following comes from Paul Joseph Watson…

Amidst the 10,000 text messages sent between anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok and lawyer Lisa Page is a bizarre exchange revealing how the two, almost certainly with Deputy FBI Director Andy McCabe, discussed an “insurance policy” in case Donald Trump won the presidential election.

“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office — that there’s no way [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk,” Strzok wrote to his mistress, adding, “It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”

Strzok needs to be brought before Congress as soon as possible so that he can explain exactly what he meant in those messages. Because there is no way that an FBI agent should ever make statements like that, and even those in the liberal media are saying that this “looks very bad”…

What kind of “insurance policy” were high level members of the FBI discussing to prevent Trump from winning the election less than three months before it took place?

As the Daily Beast’s Lachlan Markay, hardly a Trump cheerleader, notes, “This looks very bad.”

As Congress digs into this scandal, I would expect more shocking details to emerge.

It is imperative to remember that the establishment absolutely loathes Trump. The hate everything that he stands for, and they are not willing to wait around until the 2020 election in order to get rid of him.

For the establishment, the goal is to personally destroy Trump and the movement that he represents. In the past, it would have been unthinkable for television news anchors to talk hopefully about the possibility of the president and his team going to jail, but that is precisely what happened on MSNBC just a few days ago…

As the “noose” of Robert Mueller’s probe into the Trump team’s contacts with Russia is “tightening,” members of the administration are starting to understand they’re going “to jail … for the rest of their lives,” MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said Tuesday.

“Knowing them, I think they’re shocked that the noose is tightening,” Brzezinski said. “I don’t know if they were arrogant or incredibly un-self aware and really dumb about what the job was about, how important it was, and how under the microscope every move you made would be. I think they just thought they’d go in there and riff through it. And I think they’re shocked that the noose is tightening and that people might go to jail.”

“You’re exactly right,” her co-host and fiancé, Joe Scarborough, agreed.

“For the rest of their lives,” Brzezinski added, perhaps hopefully.

President Trump is not going to prison, and the entire Russian collusion investigation is a giant witch hunt.

Everyone knows this, but the establishment is so desperate to get rid of Trump that they will grasp at anything that even sounds remotely plausible.

And at this point, the entire Republican Party has become fair game for the psychopaths at MSNBC.  For example, during one recent segment Democratic pollster Fernand Amandi actually referred to the GOP as “a domestic terror group”…

“And I think Joy, this is emblematic, this CHIP scenario, where you mentioned 9 million children, children, without health insurance. I think if you take a step back, one has to ask themselves, and I think the American people should ask themselves the broader question, what has the Republican Party, in the last 10 years, done to help the American people? What have they done? This is not a political party. This is a domestic terror group.”

This kind of hateful rhetoric has got to stop.

Does Amandi really believe that Republicans should be rounded up and put in prison? Because that is what happens to people that commit acts of domestic terror.

Or maybe he would like to see us all shipped off to Guantanamo Bay. It is this sort of tyrannical thinking by the radical left that resulted in tens of millions of deaths in Stalin’s Russia and Mao’s China.

We are literally locked in a battle for the future of this nation, and if we lose, things are not just going to go bad for Trump and other high level members of the Republican Party.

If we ultimately lose this struggle, it will be a nightmare for all of us that truly love liberty and freedom, and America as we know it today will cease to exist.

[VIDEO] Texts Between Ex-Mueller Team Members Emerge: ‘F Trump’

Text messages were released between an FBI official responsible who was a key figure in the chain of events that began when the bureau, in 2016, received the infamous anti-Trump “dossier.” The FBI officials involved sent texts reading “F TRUMP,” among others.

The infamous dossier launched a counterintelligence investigation into “Russian meddling in the election” that ultimately came to encompass FISA surveillance of a Trump campaign associate. Text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page in 2016 that were obtained by Fox News on Tuesday referred to then-candidate Donald Trump as a “loathsome human” and “an idiot.”

Strzok briefed the committee on Dec. 5, 2016, sources said. But within months of that session House Intelligence Committee investigators were contacted by an informant suggesting that there was “documentary evidence” that Strzok was purportedly obstructing the House probe into the dossier. Strzok also oversaw the bureau’s interviews with ousted National Security Adviser Michael Flynn – who pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators in the Russia probe.

More than 10,000 texts between Strzok and Lisa Page were being reviewed by the Justice Department after Strzok was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe after it was revealed that some of them contained anti-Trump content.

The messages were sent during the 2016 campaign and contain discussions about various candidates. On March 2, Strzok texted Page that someone “asked me who I’d vote for, guessed [Ohio Gov. John] Kasich.”

“Seriously?! Would you not [vote] D[emocrat]?” Page responded.

“I don’t know,” Strzok answered. “I suppose Hillary [Clinton].”

“I would [vote] D,” Page affirmed.

Two days later, Page texted Strzok, “God, Trump is a loathsome human.”

“Yet he many[sic] win,” Strzok responded. “Good for Hillary.”

Later the same day, Strzok texted Page, “Omg [Trump’s] an idiot.”

“He’s awful,” Page answered.

“America will get what the voting public deserves,” said Strzok, to which Page responded. “That’s what I’m afraid of.”

Later that same day, Strzok texted Page, “Ok I may vote for Trump.”

“What?” answered Page. “Poor Kasich. He’s the only sensible man up there.”

“He was pretty much calling for death for [NSA leaker] Edward Snowden,” Strzok said. “I’m a single-issue voter. Espionage Machine Party.”

Strzok later told Page, “Exacty [sic] re Kasich. And he has ZERO appeal.”

Twelve days later, after Trump took a commanding lead in the Republican delegate race with victories in key “Super Tuesday” primaries, Page texted Strzok, “I can not believe Donald Trump is likely to be an actual, serious candidate for president.”

Four months later, Strzok and Page exchanged messages mocking Trump and his family at the Republican National Convention.

“Oooh, TURN IT ON, TURN IT ON!!! THE DO*CHEBAGS ARE ABOUT TO COME OUT,” Strzok texted Page on July 19. “You can tell by the excitable clapping.”

Later, Strzok reached out to Page again, saying, “Omg. You listening to npr? Apparently Melania’s speech had passages lifted from Michelle Obama’s…Unbelievable.”

“NO WAY!” Page answered, adding “God, it’s just a two-bit organization. I do so hope his disorganization comes to bite him hard in November.”

On Aug. 6, Page texted Strzok a New York Times article about Muslim lawyer Khzir Khan, who became embroiled in a war of words with Trump after Khan spoke at the Democratic National Convention.

“Jesus. You should read this. And Trump should go f himself,” Page wrote in a message attached to the article.

“God that’s a great article,” Strzok answered. “Thanks for sharing. And F TRUMP.“

No wonder the FBI is desperately trying to get the Russian narrative to stick. Democracy and justice no longer exist.

According to Fox News, Strzok, who was an FBI counterintelligence agent, was reassigned to the FBI’s human resources division after the discovery of the exchanges with Page, with whom he was having an affair. Page was briefly on Mueller’s team but has since returned to the FBI.

Strzok was also present during the FBI’s July 2016 interview with Hillary Clinton at the close of the email investigation, shortly before then-FBI director James Comey called her actions “extremely careless” without recommending criminal charges.
