Cop Not Disciplined for Insanely Racist Facebook Post About “Greasy Headed Moon Crickets”

Verdigris, OK — In instance after racist instance, police officers, unable to contain their racism and lust for violence, take to social media and declare their intentions. From calling for the murder of protesters to praising child abuse, it seems nothing is taboo for cops. And, as the case below illustrates, their tendencies to wear their racism as a badge of honor is likely due to the fact that they almost never face discipline.
This week, the Verdigris Police Department announced that one of their officers, Brandon Jarvis, will not be suspended or disciplined in any way after his Facebook account left a demeaning and racist comment on a post.
The post was about the recent NFL protests and how players were taking a knee.
The racist post was made in the comments of a post by another person who joked about hockey players “standing for two anthems.” The NHL added a rule in the 1980s that mandated the national anthems of both the United States and Canada be played before every game, reported the Frontier.
“Precisely why I don’t watch NFL bunch of f–in overpaid greasy headed (expletive) expecting everything for nothing!! It would make my day to bitch slap the Jerry juice outta everyone of them’s hair!! F— em!! #sorrynotf–insorry” Jarvis’ account was quoted as saying.

According to the Frontier, the meaning of the particular racist slur used in the post is debated, but its origin is said to lie in the slavery era of the United States — it was used to describe slaves who would stand and sing under moonlight.

Once another Facebook user outed Jarvis as a cop with the Verdigris PD, he was asked about the post and told his superiors that it wasn’t him. He claims his account was hacked.
Naturally, no further investigation was required and Jarvis was allowed to continue working at the department.
Amazingly enough, the alleged hacker did nothing else to Jarvis’ account out of the ordinary, and simply took over his Facebook to make this one racist comment.
Police Chief Jack Shackleford noted that Jarvis would not be suspended but would receive “some personal counseling by me in the use of social media.”
“If he is saying that his account was hacked, I don’t have any evidence to substantiate either claim,” Shackelford told The Frontier.
This could’ve been easily solved with a quick call to Facebook—through the channels specifically created for police—to ask for the IP address from which the post was made.
However, instead of doing any sort of investigation into a potentially violent racist person whose job gives them easy access to act out their destructive desires on innocent people, with very few consequences, Shackelford took this cop’s word.
Seems legit.
Considering the history of racist cops on social media, this lack of discipline should not be surprising.
Earlier this year, a cop in Mason County, WV took to his Facebook account to post a picture comparing black Baltimore rioters with monkeys.
The post says, “Baltimore! Enough said” and shows a picture of African-American people protesting on top of a car, and underneath it is a picture of monkeys on top of a car.

Before him, there was now-former Officer Melissa Adamson, who was unable to control herself and went on social media to declare that she is the law—in a racist way, naturally.
“I’m the law today n**ga,” she wrote.
Also this year, the assistant chief of police for the Estherwood Police Department resigned after coming under public scrutiny after sharing a racist meme on Facebook that went viral.
The racist post featured a caption stating, “When your daughters [sic] first crush is a little Negro boy,” with a picture of a white woman forcing a little girl’s head underwater in the bathtub.

Cops Suspended After Black Teens Beaten & ‘Herded Like Cattle’ Out of Town on Video

Maplewood, NJ — Two of Maplewood’s top cops have been placed on suspension following outrage from a video showing officers beating and “herding” a group of black teens out of town “like cattle.”
According to WNYC, Committeeman Frank McGehee made those comments at a public meeting Tuesday night, when the township board voted to place Chief Robert Cimino on paid leave for 60 days. Police Captain Joshua Cummis has been placed on leave through the end of the month.
The chief was also asked to resign immediately following a motion of no confidence.
The officers were accused of using excessive force during a July 4th celebration last year. The teens complained that the cops forced them to march out of town using violent and unnecessary tactics.

A year after the alleged abuse, video was finally released showing the incident. Prior to the video’s release, only a single officer had been suspended after the department found he violated the department’s use of force policy. Now, five additional officers are facing “formal discipline for violating department rules and regulations.”
“Black children … were herded like cattle out of Maplewood, a town that many of these children call home,” McGehee said. “There is no greater message that you are not welcome than being driven out of your hometown simply because of the color of your skin. When did being black become a qualifying factor regarding residency in Maplewood?”
As NJ 1015 reports, Mayor Victor DeLuca said officials were “appalled” by the use of force used against the teens. In video of the confrontation, groups of police officers are seen taking two young men to the ground and punching them.

“We want to set the record straight that this type of behavior is not going to be accepted in Maplewood and this police department is going to right themselves,” DeLuca said.
The video and subsequent audio of last year’s incident are nothing short of damning. The officers can be heard over the radio profiling the teens and discussing how they are going to march them out of town. They are then seen violently engaging the teens.
According to NJ 1015:
On the audio recordings released by the township, a voice identified by local news site The Village Green as Chief Cimmino, orders officers: “We’re going to send them east.”
A voice identified by the news site as Capt. Cummis says: “Notify Irvington they are going down Elmwood toward their town.”
Cummis then says: “Once they reach the Irvington border and they’re in Irvington, I want you to maintain our border…”
“Maplewood units, I want them to maintain, once they leave our town, maintain our border.”
Walter Fields, president of the South Orange/Maplewood Black Parents Workshop, while talking with NJ 1015, asked “Why weren’t white children and youth from Maplewood marched into neighboring Millburn after the fireworks? That’s why we believe this was clearly a case of racial profiling and we believe the department has to be held accountable.”
As the video below shows, at the 2:30 mark, as the cops are herding the teens down the road, all of the sudden dozens of cops swarm one of the teens and begin throwing punches. One of the officers is even seen stomping the teen for no reason as he is already on the ground with multiple cops on top of him.

The video then freezes up as a second teen appears to suffer a similar fate.
Remember, as you watch the video below, none of these kids had committed a crime. They were simply being pushed from the white part of town back into the black part of town.
Because of the lax punishment of the officers involved, the town has now hired a consulting firm to investigate this incident further. The results of that investigation are due in September.
Until then, the officers involved in and responsible for the horrific treatment of these teens will be on paid vacation.

Cop Makes Racist Video Saying “Black People Met Their Match” — NOT Fired

Boston, MA — Boston Police Department has suspended one of its own for six months without pay, followed by six months of probation, and forced “unconscious bias counseling.” However, based on what he did, he should never come near a badge or public service ever again.
Joseph DeAngelo Jr., an officer with over 4 years on the force was disciplined following an investigation into a video he produced and passed around to his friends, a video which the department concluded to be racist.
DeAngelo says he made the spoof video to poke fun at his fellow officer Dennis Leahy. However, once the video was seen by the public, they quickly, and rightfully so became outraged.
“This summer, black people have met their match.” DeAngelo asserted in the video.

Here’s a look at the video. You decide if it’s racist.
According to the Boston Herald, DeAngelo is remorseful, and Police Commissioner William B. Evans, by not firing him, is standing by his officer, who’s reportedly accepted full responsibility for his actions. However, if he accepted full responsibility, he would have found a new line of work.
The Herald said Evans called DeAngelo’s actions “clearly insensitive and immature behavior” that called for “significant sensitivity” and unconscious bias retraining and community service. The reprimanded officer will also not be allowed to moonlight as an officer during his suspension.
The Police Commission said, “It was clear from Officer DeAngelo’s interview that he feels significant remorse for his actions and now realizes the impact this video has had on our community.” He added, “Officer DeAngelo readily admitted to the conduct and has fully taken responsibility for his actions.”

Again, by keeping his job, he accepted absolutely no responsibility.
While the Boston Police Department did take action against one of their own who’ve violated departmental policies, it highlights the double standard of police discipline. Departments all across the country refuse to punish officers who’ve committed much more serious felonies and misdemeanors.
All too often, police officers are given a slap on the wrist when they break the law. Even juries are swayed by the badge, often ending deadlocked in cases where an individual citizen would have had the book thrown at them so to speak.
In May, a jury in the trial of Fort Worth police officer Courtney Johnson was hopelessly deadlocked in a case where Johnson shot a man holding a barbeque fork. Craig Adams was shot while standing in his own driveway after police were called to investigate a prowler. The judge in the case declared a mistrial and the prosecutor is unsure if they’ll attempt to retry Johnson.
And in June, Ray Tensing endured a second trial which also ended with a hung jury in the shooting death of Samuel DeBose. Tensing shot and killed DeBose after he attempted to flee in his vehicle. Tensing claimed he feared for his life after shooting DeBose in the head, an action caught on Tensing’s body camera footage.
As was previously stated, the Boston PD is punishing a racist cop, but they are letting him back on the force where he will continue to hold power over those ‘black people’ he claims ‘have met their match.’ Years from now, it is likely that DeAngelo will kill an unarmed black man and when this instance is brought back up, those of us in the police accountability movement will give the department a big fat, “I told you so.”

WATCH: Cops Strangle, Beat Innocent Disabled Man to Force Him to Lie For Them

Madison County, MS — If you don’t break the law, we are told, you have nothing to worry about from cops. Sadly, those who blindly repeat that phrase remain irresponsibly oblivious to the real problem of police abusing innocent people. As a recent ACLU lawsuit shows, being innocent is no guarantee police won’t kick in your door, strangle you, beat you, and force you to fill out a false statement.
In June of last year, six Madison County Sheriff’s deputies forced their way into the home of Quinnetta and Khadafy Manning. The deputies broke into their home and abused them, demanding they write a witness statement about an alleged burglary — only, the Mannings had never witnessed this burglary.
Luckily for the Mannings, the deputies did not notice that Quinnetta began filming their abuse.
“Officer, please, Why are you handling me like this?” asked an innocent Khadafy Manning as he struggled to breathe with the deputy’s hand around his throat.
“Because you ain’t actin’ right,” barks the abusive tyrant as he and his cronies invade an innocent family’s home at 7:00 am on a Saturday.
Even if Khadafy Manning had committed a crime, the excessive force by the police was entirely unwarranted as he is disabled and uses a cane to walk.
When the Mannings tell the deputies they have no idea about the burglary, one of the deputies threatens to kidnap and extort them over it.
“Now, y’all come clean, or you can go down to jail and, by Tuesday, you can see a judge and get you about a $50,000 bond for burglary,” he says of his power to legally kidnap and extort people.

With the threat of violence and kidnapping, the deputy tells Khadafy that he can either falsely sign the witness statement or else.
“Either you put it on paper, or, you’re just as guilty as he is and we going down to jail,” the deputy demands.
After Khadafy refuses once more to falsify a statement about an alleged crime he knew nothing about, police turned up the violence. He was choked once more, thrown to the ground, dragged out of his front door, and beaten by public servants.
As the ACLU explains, terrified for her family’s safety, Mrs. Manning wrote what they demanded while her husband—a disabled man who uses a cane—was dragged down stairs and beaten in a patrol car until he, too, wrote a false statement.
Perhaps the most frightening aspect of the Manning’s abuse captured on video is that deprivation of rights, beatings, false confessions, and unchecked aggression toward black people in Madison county happens on a regular basis.
Black individuals are almost five times more likely than white people to be arrested in Madison County. While only 38% of Madison County’s population is Black, 73% of arrests made by the sheriff’s department between May and October of 2016 were of Black people.
There are so many similar instances of abuse in Madison county that the ACLU has filed a class action lawsuit against the Madison County Sheriff Department.
As the ACLU reports, the plaintiffs in our lawsuit are 10 individuals who – absent any wrongdoing – have been illegally stopped, frisked, searched, arrested, pulled over, subjected to unjustified physical force, or endured home invasions. Their stories, along with historical evidence and statistical data, reveal striking racial disparities in the Madison County Sheriff’s Department’s practices. The lawsuit will show that the department treats innocent people as if they are criminals, tramples on the rights of the Black community in Madison County, and perpetuates fear and suspicion of the police. These actions hurt their ability to provide and promote public safety.

The ACLU says they hope this lawsuit helps to curb the abuse and violence doled about the tyrannical department. However, if history is any indicator, the only people to suffer from lawsuits against the police — even successful ones — are the taxpayers.

Cop Admits He Exchanged Racist Texts With Man Who Shot Up BLM Protest
Minneapolis, MN — (RT) A Minnesota police officer testified that he exchanged racially charged texts with Allen “Lance” Scarsella, who is standing trial for felony assault charges in the shooting of five Black Lives Matter protesters in 2015.
Scarsella, 23, is facing assault charges for shooting five Black Lives Matter protesters on November 23, 2015. The peaceful protests were in demonstrating in response to the death of Jamar Clark, an unarmed black man killed by police.
Days before the shooting, Black Lives Matter Minneapolis posted a livestream video showing two men dressed in camouflage and masks driving to the ongoing protests, making racial slurs and referring to protesters as “dindu,” an abbreviation of “dindunuffin,” a racist Internet meme insulting African Americans.
One of the men shows off a pistol, saying they were going to the protests “for a little reverse cultural enriching.”
The two in the video were identified as Scarsella and Julio Sanchez, who did not attend the protests the night of the shooting.
According to the search warrant for Scarsella, Mankato police officer Brett Levin contacted the Minneapolis Police Department hours before any news on the shooting had been reported. Levin told police that Scarsella had called him after the shooting, and admitted that he was the shooter twice in a five-minute phone call.
Levin was friends with Scarsella since high school, and Levin told police he knew Scarsella owned a .45 caliber handgun. The search warrant says that eight guns were recovered, along with “evidence of hate crimes or white supremacy paraphernalia.”

On Tuesday, Levin also testified that he and Scarsella often exchanged “racially charged” text messages that were “negative about black people.” When asked if he had ever replied with similar text messages, Levin replied “Yes, I have.”
Levin justified the text messages, claiming that, “How we were talking was more along the lines of locker room talk,” according to the Star Tribune.
Levin was not asked to describe the content of the racists messages with #Scarsella. He described them as “locker room talk.”
— Brandon Stahl (@b_stahl) January 24, 2017
Levin has not given specific descriptions of the content of those messages, nor has he given any comment on what those messages might entail.
@BurnsvillePD gosh, I don’t know about everyone else but I’d sure like to see what racist officer Levin said to racist shooter Scarsella.
— Kearney H. Quinn (@KearneyQ) January 24, 2017
Scarsella is currently arguing that he shot the men in self-defense after a group of protesters rushed him, to which Levin testified in agreement.
“I believe he told me … that one of his friends pushed him down as the protesters caught up to them,” Levin testified, according to the Star Tribune. “One of the protesters pulled out a knife and that’s when Lance pulled out his gun and shot.”
On Wednesday, testimony and videos that Scarsella livestreamed were shown to a jury, none of whom are African-American.
“How can it be self-defense when those guys had guns, and my grandson and his friends, they didn’t have guns they were just walking – going about their business,” James Clark, the father of Jamar Clark and grandfather of one of the victims of the shootings, told KARE.
