What Would You Do To Fix America’s Rapidly Failing Health Care System?

You may be quite surprised by how people answered this question on Facebook. I posted the question in the headline to my Facebook profile, and I got dozens of responses. Obamacare has resulted in much higher insurance premiums, lower quality care and more red tape, and I have talked to so many conservatives that desperately want Congress to do something about it. Today, Americans spend more on health care per capita than anyone else on the planet, and yet we have one of the unhealthiest populations in the entire industrialized world. We must do better, and I believe that we can do better.

In this article, I would like to share my thoughts on just a few of the comments that were left on my Facebook profile. The original comments that were posted by others are in bold, and my responses follow each one…

“The Federal government should not be involved in health care.”

I definitely agree with that. Whenever the federal government gets involved in anything it tends to get worse. We once had the greatest health care system in the world, but the more that federal bureaucrats have gotten into the mix the more it has declined.

“A free market system!”

This just seems like common sense to me, but unfortunately most members of Congress don’t seem to agree. Free markets work if you allow them to, but the trend all over the globe is to move toward socialized healthcare. Personally, I believe that we need to move toward free market principles throughout our society, and true competition would do much to dramatically drive down health care costs.

“Crack down big time on Medicare fraud, leave feds out of healthcare.”

Medicaid fraud costs us about 140 billion dollars a year, and Medicare fraud has been estimated to be somewhere around 60 billion dollars a year. So if you we could just crack down on those two things, we could save up to 200 billion dollars a year.

“Break the FDA big pharma monopoly.”

Yes, there are way too many executives going back and forth between the FDA and the big pharmaceutical companies. I don’t understand why Republicans and Democrats both don’t want to fix this.

“Go hard after big pharma and hospitals for being the greedy pigs they are.”

Greed is a major problem in our health care system. Way too many are in it just to make as much money as possible, and that should not be what drives people into this profession.

“Let people join medical clubs like Sean Hannity proposes.”

Rand Paul has also suggested the same thing. We should allow any group of people to band together to purchase health insurance. That would greatly level the playing field between us and the big health insurance companies, and it would definitely help drive down costs.

In addition, models such as direct primary care that cut out the big health insurance companies completely should be encouraged. Health insurance companies are the number one factor driving up health care costs, and collectively they now make about 15 billion dollars in profits a year.

“Stop the illegitimate lawsuits based on greed. Again, doctors are human and unfortunate outcomes happen even when care was provided correctly. There are risks in everything.”

Tort reform is going to have to happen state by state, but it is desperately needed. Malpractice insurance has become exceedingly expensive, and doctors pass those costs along to their patients. If we ever want to drive down costs to where they should be, this is something that must be addressed.

“Be like Canada!!!!”

That sounds good, but it isn’t the solution to our problems. I personally know Canadians that have come down to the U.S. for care because they can’t get the care that they need back home in Canada.

“Legislation needs to be introduced that forces health insurance companies to compete across state lines.”

This is something that President Trump has been pushing for a long time, and I very much agree with him. Competition across state lines will drive down rates, and this is something that should be implemented as soon as possible.

“More emphasis on nutrition, education about whole foods and natural healing, non- GMOs.”

I very much agree. Today, most doctors only have two types of solutions to offer: drugs or surgery. I believe that natural solutions need to be incorporated much more extensively into our system of health care, and that is something that we should all be able to agree upon.

“Force all US Senators, Congressman and their families to be on whatever healthcare system they force on us peons. No exceptions!”

That only seems fair, right? If I am elected, I am going to push very hard to make sure that the same rules that apply to all of the rest of us also apply to all members of Congress. And if you would like to help make this a reality, I would encourage you to visit HelpMichaelWin.com.

Ultimately, I believe that we need to rebuild our system of health care from the ground up, and that begins with medical school. For decades medical schools have been greatly restricting the number of medical students, and now the growing doctor shortage in this country is becoming a major crisis.

Like others have proposed, I believe that we need to double the number of medical students immediately. And we need to do whatever else we can to promote more competition and the implementation of free market principles in our health care system.

It won’t be easy to fix things, and we have got a lot of corrupt politicians that we need to kick out of office, but I believe that we can get there if we all work together.

What Should Be Done To RINOs Like John McCain That Betray Us Over And Over Again?

By destroying the last chance that the Republicans in the Senate had to repeal Obamacare, John McCain has ensured that he will go down in history as a backstabbing traitor that cared nothing for true conservative values.  For decades, RINOs like McCain have promised to uphold conservative values while campaigning, but once they have gotten into office they have betrayed us over and over again.  How much more are we going to take before we say enough is enough?  I hope that you will join me in my effort to remove every RINO from Congress.  What John McCain has just done should make all of us absolutely sick.  Thanks to him, Obamacare is going to remain the law of the land for the foreseeable future even though the Republicans have control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives.  If I go to Washington, I am going to declare war on RINOs like McCain, but the only way that will be possible is if thousands of good conservatives help fund this campaign.  So far my campaign has created an enormous amount of buzz all over the state, but the only way that we are going to be able to capitalize on all of that buzz is if you all stand with me.

If what John McCain did on Friday does not make you angry, I am not sure what will.  Together with Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, McCain killed the very last chance of repealing Obamacare in the Senate.  The following comes from the Washington Post…

A convergence of contentious issues, as well as embarrassing infighting and shake-ups at the White House, have a number of Republicans suddenly in open resistance to President Trump on a number of fronts.

The most dramatic moment came in the early-morning hours Friday, when Sen. John McCain, an ailing war hero and onetime Republican presidential standard-bearer, joined two other GOP dissidents, Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, to cast the deciding vote to kill a scaled-back plan to dismantle tenets of the Affordable Care Act — and with it, perhaps, Trump’s promise to repeal Obamacare.

McCain had specifically campaigned on repealing Obamacare in 2010 and in 2016.  In fact, just last year he was running campaign ads in which he boldly proclaimed that he was “leading the fight to stop Obamacare”.

Now he has done this.

And it was quite a dramatic moment when he finally cast his vote.  Some even believe that it is going to go down as the most famous “thumbs-down” in Senate history…

The clerk read the Arizona senator’s surname in the microphone of the tense Senate chamber. The two words were met with silence — John McCain had stepped out of the room minutes before.

But moments later, he reappeared. By then, the alphabetical roll call had reached Sen. Gary Peters of Michigan. McCain walked over to the front of the chamber, raising his right arm. He held it up in the air until he had the attention of the clerk.

“No,” he said, with a swift thumbs-down.

In response, we need to give our own “thumbs-down” to every RINO on the federal, state and local levels all around the country.

But if we all sit back and do nothing, RINOs such as McCain will continue to rule Washington.  Just before he cast his decisive vote, McCain actually went over to the Democrats to tell them what he was about to do.  The following comes from the Washington Post…

Shuffling across the chamber, Mr. McCain convened with Democrats, informing them of his choice. “They can read my lips,” he said to laughs, fearing his hand would be tipped ahead of time from inside the gallery.

At one point, the senator joined Ms. Collins and Ms. Murkowski, telling them they had done the right thing.

“We talked about how if anyone knew about doing the right thing it was John McCain,” Ms. Collins recalled. “It was very moving.”

I am the only candidate in this race that is openly going to go to war with McCain and others like him in Congress.

Since there is no incumbent, my race is totally wide open, and it will ultimately be decided by the enthusiasm of people like you.  If everyone in my district that is familiar with my work ends up voting for me in the Republican primary next May, I will win and it won’t even be close.

I am so tired of just sitting back and doing nothing while RINOs like McCain slap us in the face over and over again, and other conservative authors feel the exact same way.  Here is just one example…

“For American voters expecting their Republican-dominated House, Senate and White House to honor their years of repeal promises and actually, well, repeal Obamacare, McCain’s thumbs-down was a face-slap moment that will be remembered in history as a textbook classic case of political betrayal. McCain may feel liberated. But his name will go down in conservative history books as a traitor to the cause.”

If I am elected, I promise to work very hard to defeat John McCain and every other RINO in Congress.  I know that won’t make me very popular with the Republican establishment, but I don’t care.

Website Will Mail Your Ashes To GOP Politician If “Trumpcare” Kills You

The left is terrified now that key provisions of Obamacare have been voted against by the House of Representatives. The American Healthcare Act, lovingly dubbed “Trumpcare” has not been signed into law. In fact, it hasn’t even passed the Senate. Yet if you die because of it, one website will make sure they mail your ashes to a GOP congressman.

Getting Trumpcare to pass the senate is going to be an uphill battle. But regardless of whether it’s a law or not, lovers of the horrible Obamacare law are going crazy. Democrats seem fearful that some people may lose health insurance coverage. No one wants others to lose healthcare, despite the talking points of the left’s main players. But not wanting to pay for your healthcare isn’t the same as taking it away from you. Nonetheless, democrats are losing it over a bill that isn’t even a law yet and is unlikely to become one. Out of fear, one liberal decided to take things to the next level.

Zoey Jordan Slasbury claims that the AHCA (which again, is not a law yet) is going to be the cause of her death. The point of her website is pretty straightforward. A user can select a GOP representative and have their ashes mailed directly to them in the event they die because of their illness after no longer being covered by Trumpcare. The website calls this a “donation.” The site’s landing page says this:

Millions of Americans rely on protections and coverage from the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. The Republicans new bill will gut these protections and many will die.

They deserve to know it. Fill out our form and we’ll help you get papers in order to send your ashes to a GOP member of Congress if you pass. –Mail Me to the GOP.com.

This macabre idea of mailing human remains to politicians is nothing short of insanely disturbing. Democrats act like others should be forced to pay for their healthcare as if it’s a right. Newsflash: no one has the right to the fruits of another’s labor. And doctors are laborers. But many still get scared when thinking about living their lives without the government dictating every minute detail of the healthcare industry.

When a person fills out the necessary form on Mail Me To The GOP, they’re given the option of disclosing the reason why the AHCA could kill them. Some of those responses are available for viewing on the site, too. One says, “My combat tour in Iraq resulted in enough disability to make me uninsurable, but not enough to get all my healthcare through the VA. You killed me, you prick.” And another says simply, “because you took away my f-ing insurance.” Interesting, since there have literally been no changes to Obamacare because the AHCA still hasn’t passed.

It almost feels like democrats should watch a little Schoolhouse Rock so that they can understand why this whole overdramatized fear of the AHCA is absurd.

The Mail Me To The GOP website crashed yesterday because of an influx of visitors. Mediaite says that they have reached out to Salsbury for her thoughts on the site’s crash and will update if they hear back from the website’s founder.

The level in which the left has gone off the deep end over this bill is beyond insane. It’s also crazy that the right is dubbing this a “repeal and replacement” of Obamacare. It’s neither. It’s a slight tweaking that much like Obamacare, still won’t work because the government is still up to their elbows in your healthcare. The one most positive effect of Trumpcare would be the removal of the individual mandate. If it passes, and you cannot afford health insurance, you wouldn’t be charged a fine (or a tax) you can’t afford for the crime of being unable to afford insurance.

Trump: ‘The Losers Are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer;’ or Are They? (VIDEO)

As the old saying goes ‘the burnt hand teaches best’ and when it comes to Obamacare, it looks as if that’s the route that President Trump will have to take. With “Obamacare Lite” dead in the water, Obamacare is here to stay (at least for now), and it appears that the only way for our elected officials to get the requisite political will to repeal and replace the monstrosity completely, will be by letting the American people feel the full weight of just how bad “The Affordable Care Act” really is, as it begins to implode across the country.

In the following video, Right Wing News looks at the implications of the death of the “Obamacare Lite” bill, and the resulting winners and losers. There are scenarios where either side could be the ultimate victor, dealing the opposition a horrible blow. For now, President Trump has chosen the path of letting Obamacare explode, and letting the people bear the consequences.

As the state exchanges continue to implode, Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer could emerge as the major losers in this game. They could just as easily end up the winners, because the single-payer system liberals have always wanted from the beginning, ‘could’ be the only solution both sides agree on as current marketplace conditions deteriorate. After all, consider what an enormous legislative feat healthcare is with just one party in total control… how will both parties ever agree to a consensus? 

Unfortunately, letting the misguided Obamacare continue in its current form means there will be plenty of short term pain for millions of Americans; but often with great pain comes the willingness to change. We’ll just have to wait and see how much pain the American people are willing to endure…

After the Republican ObamaCare replacement bill failed to generate enough Republican support to pass a House vote Friday, President Trump announced his planned path forward: “Let ObamaCare explode.” 

Having insisted there is no Plan B in case the bill failed, the White House found itself in a situation with no backup plan now. “We’re going to go back and figure out what the next steps are,” House Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters at a press conference just minutes after the shocking news that the GOP was pulling the bill hit the wires. Ryan called the failure of his bill “a setback, no two ways about it.” Looking forward, Ryan said Obamacare is “going to remain the law of the land until it’s replaced. We didn’t have the votes to replace this law. So yeah, we’re going to be living with ObamaCare for the foreseeable future.”

A disappointed and embarrassed House Energy and Commerce Committee chairman Greg Walden was blunt with reporters: “This bill’s done.”

In a statement to the media, Trump said that if things get bad enough, Democrats will come aboard the reform effort. At that point, Trump said, it will become possible to pass a bill even better than Ryan’s. “They’re going to reach out whenever they’re ready.” Email

President Trump spoke to the press after he pulled the healthcare bill today due to lack of support. Just after the 2:00 mark Trump says, ‘The losers are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer because now they own Obamacare’.

President Trump: “What would be really good with no Democrat support if the Democrats-when it explodes which it will soon. If they got together with us and got a real healthcare bill I’d be totally open to it and I think that will happen. I think the losers are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer because now they own Obamacare. They own it, 100% own it” 

Until then, Trump said that “we were very close and it was a very, very tight margin. We had no Democrat support. We had no votes from the Democrats. They weren’t going to give us a single vote so it’s a very difficult thing to do.”

Putting a positive spin on events, Trump then said that “I’ve been saying for the last year and a half that the best thing we can do politically speaking is let ObamaCare explode,” Trump said of the path forward. “It is exploding right now. Many states have big problems, almost all states have big problems. I was in Tennessee the other day and they’ve lost half of their state in terms of an insurer. They have no insurer. And that’s happening to many other places.”

“I was in Kentucky the other day and similar things are happening,” he continued. “So, ObamaCare is exploding with no Democrat support. We couldn’t quite get there with just a very small number of votes short in terms of getting our bill passed.”

“People will see how bad it is and it’s getting much worse,” Trump added. “I said the other day when President Obama left, ’17, he knew he wasn’t going to be here. ’17 is going to be a very bad year for ObamaCare, very, very bad. You’re going to have explosive premium increases and your deductibles are so high people don’t even get to use it.”

“But we’re very, very close,” he said. “And, again, I think what will happen is ObamaCare, unfortunately, will explode.”

Trump also said the losers from Friday’s failed vote are Democrats. “The losers are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer because now they own ObamaCare,” Trump said. “They own it, 100 percent own it. And this is not a Republican health care, this is not anything but a Democrat health care, and they have ObamaCare for a little while longer until it ceases to exist, which it will at some point in the near future.”

Pelosi did not agree and called today’s aborted ObamaCare repeal a “great day for our country.”  “What happened on the floor,” she said, “is a victory for the American people.”

“I don’t know what else to say other than ObamaCare is the law of the land,” Ryan told reporters late Friday. “It’s going to remain the law of the land until it’s replaced. We didn’t have the votes to replace this law. So yeah, we’re going to be living with ObamaCare for the foreseeable future.”

The full quote from Obama when he was confirmed the new President was, “Elections have consequences.  We won, you lost. Get over it.”    The Democrats hiding out in their safe spaces and seeking solace in self-pity and despair should heed their figurehead’s words instead of acting like spoiled babies.   It’s as if they advocate democracy as long as it’s “democracy” on their terms.

Obama supporters refuse to let go of the “hope and change” slogans Obama delivered in his 2008 election campaign without actually examining the substance, of lack thereof, behind Obama’s empty platitudes.  Perhaps they can’t let go of their adulation of his presidency because they are still waiting for that “hope and change” to be delivered.   That’s not say that Trump will deliver anything he promises either.

Upon query of about the nature of the “good” that Obama accomplished, they all resort quickly to “Obamacare.”   They point to the coverage provided to those with “pre-existing” conditions and to the insurance coverage extended to those who were previously unable to afford health insurance.

But they fail to acknowledge the hundreds of thousands who dropped their coverage because they can no longer afford the premiums.  Those folks, by the way, never show up in the reports about the 20 million 14 million that now get free or mostly free coverage.

In truth, Obamacare was collapsing under its own weight.  It does not need a new President to repeal it.  Let the market destroy Obama’s Frankenstein.  The U.S. ranks 37th on the World Health Organization’s ranking of quality of healthcare by country.   And yet, the U.S. by far has the most expensive healthcare in the world.

Obamacare essentially redistributed the deck chairs on the Titantic, shifting the burden of paying for scandalously expensive medical procedures from the person afflicted to society as a whole.  As for the indigent with no coverage, I’m sure the taxpayers would have been fine extending free coverage to that demographic.  What’s that, “no way?”  Well, the burden of paying for that healthcare coverage was shifted to the middle class, who saw its premiums and deductibles to soar, forcing many to drop coverage or resort to a policy with a 5-figure deductible that functions basically as “disaster” insurance.

The biggest beneficiaries of Obamacare were Big Pharma and Big Corporate Hospital. Those two special interests, by the way, are the primary reason that healthcare is egregiously, if not prohibitively, expensive in the U.S.   Thanks Barack.

There’s plenty of other Obama promises for which his followers have been left unfilled.  He not only did not clean up Wall Street and DC, they became an even deadlier terminal cancer to society under Obama’s watch.   As for the economy and the stock market, given that Obama presided over the doubling of the amount of U.S. Government Treasury debt – from $10 trillion to $20 trillion, or more than $1.2 trillion per year, a monkey could have sat in the Oval Office and taken credit for the dubious economic “recovery” and the re-inflation of the stock market bubble, which is now the most overvalued stock market in history.

How Obamacare Was Designed To Fail And Hillary Clinton Knew It All Along (VIDEO)

If you signed up for Obamacare, you’ve been screwed.

If you didn’t sign up and opted to pay the penalties, you’ve been screwed.

If you didn’t sign up, didn’t pay penalties, and stuck with your original insurance company, you’ve been screwed.

If you didn’t sign up, didn’t pay penalties, and paid cash for medical care, you’ve been screwed.

Every person in America has been affected, regardless of what you did or did not do.

That’s because the Affordable Care Act irrevocably ruined our access to medical care at an affordable price in this country. In the mere span of 4 years, the prices have skyrocketed and many families have to pay more in monthly premiums than they pay on their mortgages. Meanwhile, medical costs have been driven up to astronomical prices, making it nearly impossible to pay out-of-pocket for care.

And these premiums? They are for the crappiest coverage you can imagine. Some families pay $1500-2000 a month for 60% coverage after they pay the $5000 deductible. That’s nearly $20,000 per year before Obamacare pays for a penny of their costs.

And now…now that insurance companies have gone belly up when they were forced to become a part of the “exchange,” medical costs are skyrocketing, doctors won’t see patients who aren’t “covered,” employers stopped offering insurance as a benefit, and people lost their jobs due to Obamacare costs…

The whole thing is failing. Even President Obama has admitted it.

And now we have proof that it was planned that way.

But that isn’t the worst of it. The worst of it is that this program was designed to fail and steer us into single payer healthcare, where a government entity can decide what procedures will or will not be covered. They’ll decide who is deserving of cancer treatment and who is not. They’ll mandate things like flu shots and childhood vaccines.

One of the recent Wikileaks shows that Hillary Clinton knew this and was complicit.

In an email thread dated September 26, 2015 between Hillary and her senior policy adviser Ann O’Leary titled “Memo on Cadillac Tax for HRC,” Hillary wrote, “Given the politics now w bipartisan support including Schumer, I’ll support repeal w ‘sense of the Senate’ that revenues would have to be found. I’d be open to a range of options to do that. But we have to be careful that the R version passes which begins the unraveling of the ACA.”

“Which begins the unraveling of the Affordable Care Act.”

A Democrat supporting Republican legislation to destroy Obamacare on purpose. How many millions have they raked in on this deal and bilked the American people for in Obamacare penalties because they can’t afford the “affordable” health care? And the American people will look at this like a “victory” when it does unravel, even though it has been the plan all along.

Hillary Clinton, that savior of woman and children, knew that this would fail. She is supporting the legislation to destroy it, leaving everyone in America at the mercy of the horrible replacement that she will dream up to redistribute wealth and deal the death blow to the already-struggling middle class.
