The director of the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” is offering $100,000 to the charity of Donald Trump’s choice if the president gets on a scale and is weighed “accurately.” James Gunn is making this offer because he’s personally offended that the doctor who evaluated the president said Trump is in perfect health.
Fat shaming is only OK when done by the left apparently. We wonder how many leftists would complain if someone wanted to fat shame the obviously pudgy Hillary Clinton, put her on a scale, and her publicly broadcast her weight.

According to the Hill, Gunn made the Tweet after looking up the weight of a professional baseball player who happens to be Trump’s exact height. (Someone has no idea that muscle weighs more than fat.)

Gunn then tweeted a photo of MLB star Albert Pujols alongside Trump, comparing their heights and weights as listed in Trump’s physical exam results.
Let’s break it down for the liberals who don’t understand science. A lean person with more muscle might weight more than somebody who’s not so lean because muscle is denser than fat (like iron is denser than water). Your muscle accounts for about 30-55% of your bodyweight, and a pound of muscle will be about 4 times smaller than a pound of fat. And let’s call it like it is, shall we? Pujols is much leaner than president Donald Trump. Those numbers are likely accurate.
But liberals seem overly offended that Trump is in good health. But some at least called Gunn out for his offense at the president’s weight.

Trump’s White House doctor, Navy Rear Adm. Dr. Ronny Jackson, declared the president is in “excellent” health. Jackson fielded questions at Tuesday’s White House press briefing for roughly an hour. Trump was listed at 75 inches tall and weighing 239 pounds, according to the exam results.
“His cardiac performance during his physical exam was very good, he continues to enjoy the significant, long-term cardiac and overall health benefits that come from a lifetime of abstinence from tobacco and alcohol,” Jackson said. “All data indicates the president is healthy and will remain so for the duration of his presidency,” he added. And that’s probably why liberals are so upset. It’s going to be next to impossible for the left to remove Trump from office under the guise of the 25th amendment – like they so desperately want since their “Russian election meddling” investigation is blowing up in their faces.
To "protect" society from the likes of "criminals" who"d dare to help out the homeless, police raided a park Sunday and arrested more than a dozen people.
A large group of well-armed good samaritans took to the streets this week to openly break a bad law to help the homeless and those less fortunate.
Houston, TX — It is time to strike while the iron is hot. Media coverage of the devastation in Texas is at a peak right now and history shows us that people will help when they see it on TV. However, when coverage stops, so does most of the support. Knowing this, it is time to make your move and show your support to your fellow humans who are suffering dearly right now after being hit by one of the worst storms in US history. But, before you simply click the link and donate to the Red Cross, you should know their history and know there are far better ways to help.
The Red Cross is no stranger to scandal. Putting them on the corruption map was their reaction to the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti. In 2010, hundreds of thousands of Haitians lost their lives in a tragic earthquake. Gail McGovern, the Red Cross’ CEO, and her staff quickly responded with a massive marketing push to raise funds. They received countless celebrity endorsements and even President Obama jumped on the train. In just a few days, they raised a half a billion dollars.
However, of that half billion, the Red Cross kept $125 million for themselves and didn’t disclose it until they were investigated. An investigation later revealed that the rest of the money the Red Cross spent in Haiti resulted in just six permanent homes, NPR and ProPublica found.
But that’s not all. The Red Cross’ response to Katrina was so horrific that some observers noted they were on the verge of criminal wrongdoing. Years later in 2012, it failed again for Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Isaac.

The response was “worse than the storm,” one Red Cross driver told ProPublica during its jaw-dropping investigation. The Red Cross was more concerned with their public image than helping the storm victims so much so that they ordered employees to drive around empty trucks to make it appear like they were responding. “We were sent way down on the Gulf with nothing to give,” the driver said.

But that’s not all. Fast forward to 2016 and the Red Cross was responding to the 1000-year flood in Louisiana. Despite Nancy Malone, a spokeswoman for the Red Cross, saying that it was misinformation, there were countless reports of Red Cross stations turning down donations of supplies. Wheel chairs, crutches, canes, diabetic supplies and other goods like clothes and water, were just some of the supplies refused by the Red Cross.
What’s more, when they did take donations during the flood, many of them were reported for throwing them away.
As Justin Elliott notes, writing for Pro Publica, the Red Cross stopped helping people once it was taken over by a team of former AT&T executives who tried to turn it into a profit machine instead of a charity.
As part of her effort to run the Red Cross more like a business, McGovern recruited more than 10 former AT&T executives to top positions. The move stirred resentment inside the organization, with some longtime Red Cross hands referring to the charity as the “AT&T retirement program.’’
McGovern laid out a vision to increase revenue through “consolidated, powerful, breathtaking marketing.”
“This is a brand to die for,” she often said.
The bottom line is that the Red Cross has become a massively centralized bureaucracy that is seemingly more concerned with self-preservation and corporate salaries than they are helping victims of natural disasters.

So, where can you go to help? Well, the answer is not simply donating to a single company who may or may not use that money to help victims. Luckily, there are smaller organizations—far more transparent than the Red Cross—who specialize in certain areas that you can choose to fund.

Austin Pets Alive, which transferred more than 200 pets to its shelter as of Saturday morning, is also seeking help, as are the Animal Defense League of Texas and the Houston Humane Society. If you see a stranded marine animal, call the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Southeast Regional Office at 1-877-942-5343.
Because these aid efforts will be prolonged for months or even years, it is best to give cash so it can be determined how to be spent in the future, which is unknown. However, if you only have supplies, donate food or cash to food banks in your area. Or you can donate to Feeding Texas, a network of food banks across the state. Find your local food bank here.
The Salvation Army says it is providing food and water to first responders and preparing for massive feeding efforts for residents. Unlike their competition, the Salvation Army has a history of giving back as much as possible. Donate here.

Have no cash and no supplies, but lots of time? Volunteer. Volunteer Houston has launched a VIRTUAL Volunteer Reception Center to aid nonprofits and agencies in finding and deploying people to hard-site areas.

Tampa, FL — When feeding willing hungry people becomes illegal, that is a telling sign of a bureaucratic police state. And, in the ostensible Land of the Free, the enforcers of such arbitrary and cruel laws have no problem kidnapping and locking people in a cage for helping those in need. In fact, it happens on a regular basis.
The most recent case of police cracking down on caring people who dared to give organic rice and beans to the hungry happened over the weekend in Tampa.
Members of the charitable group Food Not Bombs gathered Saturday afternoon to hand out hot coffee and bagels to Tampa’s homeless community. However, their good deed was thwarted by police who quickly arrested seven of the people serving the food and one homeless man who dared grab a bagel from the table after cops ordered everyone to stop eating.
The entire horrendous deprivation of liberty was streamed live to Facebook by Erin Sauer. It’s nothing short of infuriatingly asinine.
Why would a dozen cops descend on a group of volunteers donating their own food to willing people who need it? Well, Food not Bombs failed to pay the extortion fee to the city in the form of a permit.
Food not Bombs is not some fly by night charity looking to rustle feathers by ‘illegally’ distributing food the homeless. The group sets up to feed the homeless at least twice a week — so obtaining a permit and purchasing the city-required insurance policy is too pricey to be sustainable.
When kind-hearted people don’t have a limitless supply of money to grease the statist skids and pay their extortion fees to remove all the red tape — they become outlaws.

In an email to CL Tampa, a spokesperson for the group noted that Food not Bombs “has no plans to stop sharing food with the homeless and hungry and will continue to defy unjust laws that criminalize compassion and mutual aid.”
Unfortunately, in the land of the free, feeding the homeless has become a revolutionary act. Cities across the country are cracking down on good people like those at Food not Bombs who simply want to feed the needy.
Last December, the Dallas, Texas city council enacted Ordinance No. 29595, which makes it illegal to serve food to the homeless without jumping through a statist myriad of bureaucratic hoops, including a fee, training classes, and written notices.
However, the folks over at the aptly named organization Don’t Comply acted in a similarly brave manner as Food not Bombs, and took to the streets just outside the Austin Street Shelter in Dallas. However, the members of Don’t Comply had guns. They were not shut down and the group successfully fed thousands of homeless people.
“We intend to expose the city’s cruelty in the face of thousands in our community who are struggling with issues of food insecurity, mental and medical health issues, poverty, and homelessness,” a spokesperson for Food not Bombs said in an email according to CL Tampa. “If the city will not address these problems, the least they can do is not get in the way and stop others from addressing these needs. Compassion should never be criminalized.
Kansas City, MO — Every year, for the last five years, volunteers with Kookers Kare – a group of barbecue chefs with hearts as big as their stomachs – have worked together to feed thousands of hungry homeless people. However, this year, 3,000 homeless people expecting that food, were denied it, thanks to the cold and callous hand of the state.
Every year, after the annual food festivities have finished, selfless volunteers round up thousands of pounds of leftovers from the massive cookoff and prep them for distribution to the less fortunate. Every year, this has gone off without a hitch — until this year.
After volunteers collected the food to be distributed to the homeless, the same food, which was just deemed safe enough to dish out to the cook-off attendees, was then labeled for destruction by Kansas City Health Inspectors.
Volunteers were heartbroken when they were forced to destroy “perfectly good barbecue” by covering it in bleach and then throwing it in a dumpster.
“It was the whole gamut. If you can think of the most magnificent barbecue spread, that’s what we threw away yesterday by the hundreds of pounds,” said Bill Derke, associate director of Hope City.
According to ABC 7, this year, that ‘magnificent barbecue spread’ was more than 3,000 pounds of meat and 1,200 pounds of sides. All that food is then distributed to ministries with food kitchens like Hope City on Kansas City’s East Side.
“And everybody out there is like, ‘All right! We are going to eat beans, potatoes, brisket, burnt ends, ribs, it’s awesome,"” Derke said.
However, just as Derke prepared to dish out this fantastic feast to those who could not feed themselves — here come the bureaucrats. The health inspectors forced the group to destroy 700 pounds of completely edible food.
Because they felt like they opened up a can of worms, the health inspectors delayed the serving of all the food and the entire 4,200 pounds of food will now be wasted.
“They were expecting lunch and for it to be a really good lunch and just having it taken away it was a bummer. We were all bummed out,” Derke said.
Health officials say it was destroyed because it wasn’t from a permitted establishment, and they couldn’t track where the food had been, therefore they couldn’t ensure its safety, reports ABC 7.
Kookers Kares president said if health inspectors had any questions they should have just asked. He said his group has a refrigerated truck at American Royal, and his team of food safety experts only collect food that’s piping hot or ice cold. Instead, hundreds already went hungry and it appears as many as 3,000 people won’t get meals as a result, according to the report.
Just how the food inspectors confused perfectly good food for something that should be taken from the hungry, covered in bleach, and tossed in the dumpster, is unknown. However, Kookers Kares promises not to let it happen again next year.
But the health inspectors aren’t showing any signs of loosening their grip.
