Congressman Says Assange Has “Physical Proof” Russia Did Not Hack DNC

Julian Assange Russia(TIM) — In a recent interview with Breitbart Radio, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), who reportedly visited the Ecuadorian embassy in London in August 2017 and met with WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange, said that Assange has physical evidence to prove that Russia did not provide WikiLeaks with Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails during the 2016 US presidential campaign. “By now, everybody […]

Julian Assange Says He Can Prove The Russian Narrative Is False

assane

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange says that he can prove that the Russian election meddling narrative pushed by Democrats for almost a year now, is completely false.  And he’s willing to turn over all evidence, in exchange for a pardon.

Most of already knew that the Russian narrative was nothing more than evidence-less propaganda.  But Julian Assange says that he can prove it and all he wants is a pardon in return. As of Saturday, it appeared that president Donald Trump hadn’t heard of Assange’s deal.

According to PJ Media, Representative Dana Rohrabacher, a Republican from California, told The Daily Caller that Trump is being blocked from knowing about the potential deal with Assange. “I think the president’s answer indicates that there is a wall around him that is being created by people who do not want to expose this fraud that there was collusion between our intelligence community and the leaders of the Democratic Party,” Rohrabacher said.

Rohrabacher spoke to chief-of-staff John Kelly two weeks ago about the potential deal with Assange.  The Wall Street Journal reported that Kelly told Rohrabacher to bring the information to the intelligence community.  “This would have to be a cooperative effort between his own staff and the leadership in the intelligence communities to try to prevent the president from making the decision as to whether or not he wants to take the steps necessary to expose this horrendous lie that was shoved down the American people’s throats so incredibly earlier this year,” Rohrabacher said. Rohrabacher called the collusion narrative “a massive propaganda campaign” and “historic con job” meant to conceal the ideological conspiracy between the intelligence community and the Democrat party.

There still hasn’t been any word on whether or not Trump will take this new idea into consideration.  Skeptics say that Assange should have offered this evidence months ago to stop the bleeding of the Russian narrative before it even began.  No one knows what this evidence looks like nor where Assange happened to come across it.

Congressman Attacks "Disloyal" John Kelly For Quashing Possible Trump-Assange Deal

As we reported last week, California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher earlier this year tried to broker a deal between the Trump administration and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange whereby Assange would furnish purportedly conclusive evidence that Russia wasn’t responsible for the DNC leaks in exchange for a presidential pardon.

Well, apparently Trump isn’t an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal (the newspaper that originally reported on the Rohrabacher-Assange deal), because when asked about it over the weekend, he responded that he’d “never heard” of the deal.

That’s not surprising. As WSJ initially reported, Rohrabacher was stymied by Chief of Staff John Kelly when he tried to take the deal to the president. Trump’s chief of staff, who’s efforts to impose “discipline” on the West Wing in part by limiting access to the president have been widely publicized, suggested that Rohrabacher first clear the deal with the intelligence agencies, which, of course, would be a non-starter.

So, in what’s likely another attempt to circumvent Kelly’s influence via the media (after all, it’s not out of the question that Rohrabacher was behind the initial leaks to WSJ) Rohrabacher complained to the Daily Caller that certain disloyal aides are creating “a wall around” the president.

“I think the president’s answer indicates that there is a wall around him that is being created by people who do not want to expose this fraud that there was collusion between our intelligence community and the leaders of the Democratic Party,” Rohrabacher told The Daily Caller Tuesday in a phone interview.

...

As WSJ reported, Rohrabacher met with Assange in August at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where the WikiLeaks founder has lived in asylum since 2012 due to now-dropped sexual assault charges in Sweden. However, American authorities are reportedly still investigating Assange for his role in disseminating thousands of classified US documents. At the meeting, Assange purportedly promised to deliver information that proves Russia wasn’t behind the DNC leak.

While Trump said early in the campaign that he believed Assange should get “the death penalty” for publishing US secrets and endangering intelligence assets, he has since softened his tone. Earlier this year, he praised Wikileaks for publicly denying that the Russian government was the source of the leaked DNC emails – provoking outrage among Democrats and some Republicans, who accused the president of siding with an enemy of the state over his own intelligence community.

US intelligence agencies have claimed that Russian state actors were involved with the hacking and leaking of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails.

Rohrabacher said that a pardon would likely have to occur for Assange to give up this information about the source of the DNC emails. Assange has long maintained that he would never reveal a source, but Rohrabacher said that Assange now “wants to get out of the Ecuadorian embassy.” Rohrabacher told The Daily Caller that he hasn’t seen the information that Assange says vindicates Russia, but vouched that the Wikileaks founder would provide the goods if the president is on board.” According to US laws, the president is able to preemptively pardon someone.

To be sure, nobody has railed against the ongoing Russia investigation harder than Trump, who has vehemently denied accusations that his campaign colluded with Russia, while also pushing back against the notion that Russia actively tried to interfere in the US election.

It’s not out of the question that Trump would consider such a deal if it were presented to him.

Republican Congressman Proposes Pardon Deal For Julian Assange

Late on Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Julian Assange might be able to provide proof that there"s no truth to the Russia collusion narrative - even as Facebook"s claim it may have sold $100,000 worth of ads to Russians supposedly seeking to bolster Trump"s campaign has revived the narrative in the eyes of Trump"s political opponents.

According to WSJ, US congressman Dana Rohrabacher approached Trump"s Chief of Staff John Kelly this week and offered him a deal: in exchange for a presidential pardon, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange would share evidence that could refute the narrative of Russian hacking into the DNC servers which released a trove of emails revealing that the DNC favored Clinton over rival Bernie Sanders during the 2016 primary. The leaked emails were widely blamed by liberals (and, of course, Hillary Clinton herself) for helping Trump win the 2016 election.

If, on the other hand Assange provided no definitive evidence, there would be no deal.

“The possible “deal”—a term used by Mr. Rohrabacher during the Wednesday phone call—would involve a pardon of Mr. Assange or “something like that,” Mr. Rohrabacher said. In exchange, Mr. Assange would probably present a computer drive or other data-storage device that Mr. Rohrabacher said would exonerate Russia in the long-running controversy about who was the source of hacked and stolen material aimed at embarrassing the Democratic Party during the 2016 election.”

‘He would get nothing, obviously, if what he gave us was not proof,’ Mr. Rohrabacher said.

During the call, Rohrabacher pushed for a meeting between Assange and a Trump representative, preferably someone with direct communication with the president. While WSJ didn’t speculate about who Assange’s source might be, the Australian-born hacker has repeatedly hinted that he received the emails from deceased Democratic staffer Seth Rich. Rich was shot and killed last year during a robbery, according to the DC police, however, the circumstances of his death have fostered suspicions that he may have been murdered as revenge for the leaks.

Rohrabacher travelled to London unofficially early last month for a meeting with Assange. At the meeting, Rohrabacher said Assange offered him "firsthand" information purportedly proving that the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia. Rohrabacher is the chairman of the subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats, which has jurisdiction over Russia-related issues within the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Rohrabacher confirmed that he spoke to Trump’s chief of staff earlier this week, but declined to elaborate on the subject of their discussion. “I can’t confirm or deny anything about a private conversation at that level” the WSJ adds.

A Trump administration official confirmed to WSJ that Rohrabacher had spoken to Kelly about Assange, and that Kelly told him his proposal “was best directed to the intelligence community.” Trump was never made aware of the phone call, according to WSJ. For the record, that’s the same intelligence community that relied on an error-laden dossier compiled by a former British intelligence officer to kick-start its investigation into whether members of the Trump campaign actively conspired with Russian agents to swing the vote to Trump.

Rohrabacher was understandably skeptical about involving the intelligence community, as Kelly had suggested.

“I would be happy to go with somebody you trust whether it is somebody at the FBI; somebody on your staff,” Mr. Rohrabacher said. The California congressman said he would be pleased to talk to CIA Director Mike Pompeo, but that the agency “has its limitations” and wanted “to cover their butt by having gone along with this big lie.” The CIA was one of the intelligence agencies that helped determine in January that emails from prominent Democrats were stolen by Russian intelligence and given to WikiLeaks.

Mr. Pompeo has said that WikiLeaks is akin to a foreign hostile intelligence service and is an adversary of the U.S. “WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service,” Mr. Pompeo said in an April speech where he criticized the organization for stealing secrets from democratic governments all while receiving the backing of authoritarian states.”

AS WSJ further adds, US authorities have launched an investigation into the disclosure of classified material to WikiLeaks. The investigation was reportedly opened after the publication of hundreds of thousands of classified US government documents in 2010. However, neither Assange nor his organization have never been publicly accused of wrongdoing. Assange has defended the group’s actions, saying they were important acts of journalism and that the American public had a right to know that the DNC essentially conspired to tilt the primary in Clinton’s favor.

Rohrabacher added that the WikiLeaks founder never formally asked him to seek a pardon on his behalf.

“Mr. Assange explained that the ongoing attempts to bring a prosecution against WikiLeaks and its staff for its work documenting the Iraq and Afghanistan wars are unconstitutional, widely condemned, should immediately cease and that the continuation is an abuse of process for improper purposes,” WikiLeaks said in a statement about the August meeting between Mr. Assange and Mr. Rohrabacher.

After the visit to London, Mr. Rohrabacher said in a statement that Mr. Assange “emphatically stated that the Russians were not involved in the hacking or disclosure of those emails.”

Trump has already made one controversial commutation - pardoning former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio - since taking office. Like Arpaio, Assange, who isn"t a US citizen and was not eligible to vote during the election, was vocal in his support of the Trump campaign. And Trump, for his part, has praised Wikileaks for its journalistic efforts.

But as Special Counsel Robert Mueller continues to dig into the financial records of Trump"s inner circle, the administration would definitely benefit from Assange"s disclosure - particularly if it proves reliable enough to forestall, or even end, the multiple inquiries which have so far turned up little in the way of legitimate evidence that Trump associates conspired with Russian. Instead, the inquiry is largely being used as a vessel to funnel damaging leaks about the administration to the press.

In short, Assange who as recently as a few months ago was worried the CIA would do everything in its power to do away with him for good, may have found some last minute leverage.

And now we await a response from Trump, who we imagine would be keen to hear what Assange has to say - despite his chief of staff"s efforts to prevent the meeting.

Assange Meets With US Lawmaker, Vows to Prove DNC Leaks Didn’t Come From Russia

(ANTIWAR.COM) — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange met with a member of the US Congress for the first time Wednesday, as Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R – CA) met him during a three-hour gathering at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

During the meeting, Assange assured Rohrabacher that Russia was not the source of DNC leaks which WikiLeaks published during the 2016 campaign related to the Democratic Party, and he promised specific information would be provided to prove that.

Rep. Rohrabacher is the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, a position which might be of considerable import amid multiple Congressional investigations into the allegations of Russia being behind the leaks.  Assange has long maintained that not only did Russia not provide the leaks, but no state party had done so.

How Assange intends to prove it wasn’t Russia, short of outing his sources, is unclear, but Rohrabacher did suggest he was provided with some specifics from Assange about which he intends to brief President Trump.

The putative “Russia hacks” have fueled US hostility toward Russia since mid-2016, despite both Russia and WikiLeaks denying that Russia was involved in the leaks, which were seen to politically embarrass Hillary Clinton during last year’s campaign, and which some Democrats have alleged were a concerted Russian plot to “get Trump elected.”

BREAKING: Congressman Says Assange Could be Pardoned for Proof Russia Did Not Hack DNC

assange

Washington, D.C. – This week, in a stunning turn of events, U.S. congressman Dana Rohrabacher became the first congressman to meet with Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. During the private three-hour meeting Assange told Rohrabacher that he will prove that leaked DNC documents, published by WikiLeaks during the 2016 presidential election, did not come from Russia. Then on Thursday, Rohrabacher made a promise to pardon him.

On Thursday, Rohrabacher gave an interview with the Daily Caller in which he noted that Assange couldn’t come to Washington given his current status as a wanted criminal. So, he brought up the notion of pardoning the political prisoner.

Rohrabacher told The Daily Caller in an exclusive interview Thursday that Assange is hoping to leave the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he is currently in asylum, and that during the meeting they explored “what might be necessary to get him out.”

The congressman told TheDC that “if [Assange] is going to give us a big favor, he would obviously have to be pardoned to leave the Ecuadorian embassy.” Assange took asylum in the embassy in August 2012 after facing sexual assault charges in Sweden. The Justice Department also reportedly wants to charge Assange for helping Edward Snowden, a former NSA analyst, leak thousands of classified documents.

“He has information that will be of dramatic importance to the United States and the people of our country as well as to our government,” Rohrabacher said. “Thus if he comes up with that, you know he’s going to expect something in return. He can’t even leave the embassy to get out to Washington to talk to anybody if he doesn’t have a pardon. Obviously there is an issue there that needs to be dealt with, but we haven’t come to any conclusion yet.”

The potential for a pardon based on smashing the Russian hacking narrative is nothing short of bombshell. And, according to Rohrabacher, Assange has the proof to back it up.

Rohrabacher recounted his conversation with Assange to The Hill:

“Our three-hour meeting covered a wide array of issues, including the WikiLeaks exposure of the [Democratic National Committee] emails during last year’s presidential election,” Rohrabacher said, “Julian emphatically stated that the Russians were not involved in the hacking or disclosure of those emails.

Perhaps even more interesting, when Rep. Rohrabacher was pressed for details about the source of the documents he said that he had information that was to be shared with President Trump privately.

“Julian also indicated that he is open to further discussions regarding specific information about the DNC email incident that is currently unknown to the public,” Rohrabacher added.

While anonymous sources within U.S. intelligence agencies have continually claimed they have proof of Russian involvement — which it has curiously never made public — numerous former intelligence officials have come forward after a technical analysis of the data and determined that it was much more likely that someone on the east coast of the United States was behind the data theft from the DNC.

The technical analysis revealed that files stolen from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) during the 2016 election cycle were most likely downloaded to a USB drive by someone with physical access to a computer connected to the DNC network. The analysis firmly refutes the official narrative of the files being hacked remotely by the Russians – as popularized by the U.S. corporate media, without any actual evidence ever publicly presented.

According to a report by Bloomberg:

The January assessment of the U.S. intelligence community, which serves as the basis for accusations that Russia hacked the election said, among other things: “We assess with high confidence that Russian military intelligence (General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate or GRU) used the Guccifer 2.0 persona and DCLeaks.com to release U.S. victim data obtained in cyber operations publicly and in exclusives to media outlets and relayed material to WikiLeaks.”

VIPS (Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity) instead surmises that, after WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange announced on June 12, 2016 his intention to publish Hillary Clinton-related emails, the DNC rushed to fabricate evidence that it had been hacked by Russia to defuse any potential WikiLeaks disclosures. To this end, the theory goes, the DNC used the Guccifer 2.0 online persona to release mostly harmless DNC data. Guccifer 2.0 was later loosely linked to Russia because of Russian metadata in his files and his use of a Russia-based virtual private network.

VIPS includes former National Security Agency staffers with considerable technical expertise, such as William Binney, the agency’s former technical director for world geopolitical and military analysis, and Edward Loomis Jr., former technical director for the office of signals processing, as well as other ex-intelligence officers with impressive credentials.

While the DNC leak was quickly attributed to the Russian hackers by U.S. intelligence agencies, a document published by an individual going by the name Forensicator reveals how the 7-zip file published by Guccifer 2.0 was transferred at a speed of 23 MB/s, making it “unlikely that this initial data transfer could have been done remotely over the Internet.”

“The initial copying activity was likely done from a computer system that had direct access to the data,” the report from the Forensicator stated. “By ‘direct access’ we mean that the individual who was collecting the data either had physical access to the computer where the data was stored, or the data was copied over a local high speed network (LAN).”

Even more curious, the DNC never allowed the FBI to conduct a technical analysis of the allegedly hacked servers, and instead relied on a private company called CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike’s conclusions informed much of the intelligence community’s assessment — which had obvious conflicts of interest — due to the fact they’re being paid by the DNC as well as their co-founder Dmitri Alperovitch’s affiliation with the Atlantic Council, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that has generally viewed Russia as a hostile power.

Assange has previously intimated that Russia wasn’t the source of his leaked information, but Tuesday marks the first time he has engaged with a U.S. lawmaker to make it “official.”

Rohrabacher noted he had information he planned to deliver to President Trump upon his return to the US, and said that included a request that the WikiLeaks be given a news media seat inside the White House press briefing room.

“Julian passionately argued the case that WikiLeaks was vital to informing the public about controversial though necessary issues. He hoped that WikiLeaks — an award-winning journalistic operation — might be granted a seat in the White House press corps. As a former newsman myself I can’t see a reason why they shouldn’t be granted news status for official press conferences,” he said.

In regards to other information to be delivered to the president, Rohrabacher said:

“We left with the understanding that we would be going into further details in the near future. The rest of the message is for the president directly and I hope to convey it to him as more details come in.”

“Unbeknownst to me I am the first member of Congress to visit there with Mr. Assange,” he said.

While initially, the U.S. public saw through Hillary Clinton’s “the Russians did it” mantra last year, and she lost the election, many Americans have been propagandized into believing the “Russians hacked the election” narrative after a prolonged and sustained propaganda operation.

Authoritarian regimes often use external enemies to distract the public from domestic discord, but in a functioning democracy, this should never happen. Perhaps the fact that these tactics are now being used on the American public should serve as a wake-up call that we are teetering on the brink of despotism.

Iran Claims Proof Of 'Direct US Support" For ISIS Days After Congressman Dana Rohrabacher Floats The Idea

Content originally generated at iBankCoin.com

Last Thursday, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher praised ISIS for coordinated terrorist attacks in Tehran which left 17 civilians dead - then suggested that the United States should support the terrorist organization in their endeavors to bring regime change to Iran, comparing the situation to working with Stalin"s Russia to get Hitler.

Rohrabacher: Isn"t it a good thing for us to have Untied States finally backing up Sunnis who will attack Hezbollah and the Shiite threat to us? Isn"t that a good thing? And if so, maybe this is a Trump strategy of actually supporting one group against another considering that you have terrorist organizations.

Maybe it"s a good idea to have radical Muslim terrorists fighting each other?

Dr. Asher: Having coordinated the economic warfare plan against the Islamic State, I would not condone an attack by the Islamic State. I would be determined to destroy them.

Three days later, Iran says that"s exactly what"s happening...

Iran"s Fars news agency reports that Iran possess documents claiming to prove that the United States provides "Direct" support to ISIS. According to deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces - Major General Mostafa Izadi, Iran is "facing a proxy warfare in the region as a new trick by the arrogant powers against the Islamic Republic."

As the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) said, we possess documents and information showing the direct supports by the US imperialism for this highly disgusting stream (the ISIL) in the region which has destroyed the Islamic countries and created a wave of massacres and clashes -Fars

As ZeroHedge notes, Izadi"s statement echoed remarks made by Iranian politician Ali Larijani last Friday - who pointed a finger directly at the United States for last week"s terrorist attacks in Tehran. At a funeral ceremony for the victims, Larijani said "The United States has aligned itself with the ISIL in the region,"

Turkey"s Erdogan claimed that the US supports ISIS

In December 2016, Turkish President Erdogan said "he has evidence that the US supported terrorists in Syria, including ISIS."

They were accusing us of supporting Daesh [Islamic State],” he told a press conference, according to Reuters.

“Now they give support to terrorist groups including Daesh, YPG, PYD. It"s very clear. We have confirmed evidence, with pictures, photos and videos. -Erdogan

And in July of 2016, Julian Assange made a similar claim. Additionally - according to Wikileaks and the Podesta emails, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been supporting ISIS as well.

Iran hasn"t said if or when they will release proof of US support for ISIS/ISIL. Better not be trolling...

In the meantime, perhaps US politicians would be wise not to cheerlead for support of one of the most brutal organizations on the planet. If the USA is in fact funding ISIS - that entire operation needs to be shut down and those responsible held to account.

US Congressman to Take Delegation to Russia to ‘Work With The Duma’

January 6, 2017   |   admintam

(RPI) Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) has plans to bring a congressional delegation to Russia. Rohrabacher is quoted in a Wednesday article by Robert Costa in the Washington Post as saying a purpose of the trip is to discuss with Russian officials “how we can work with the Duma.” The Duma is a legislative body of the Russian government.

Rohrabacher, as chairman of the Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats Subcommittee of the Foreign Affairs Committee, has a significant role in the United States House of Representatives regarding US relations with Russia. In this position, Rohrabacher has on occasion forcefully made the case for easing tensions between the US and Russia. For example, in March of 2015, Rohrabacher, speaking during a meeting of the subcommittee concerning Ukraine, criticized the US government’s effort “to basically defeat and humiliate Russia.” He argued that the US goal should instead be “to do what is right by Ukraine and bring peace to Ukraine.”

Rohrabacher’s influence in the House, though, should be understood in context. In introductory remarks at the Ukraine hearing at which Rohrabacher spoke out for peace and détente, Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), who is chairman of the full Foreign Affairs Committee, asserted the US government should take more aggressive actions in opposition to Russia in relation to Ukraine, calling US action so far “quite tepid.” And, last week, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) cheered and called “overdue” the announcement by President Barack Obama of punitive actions, including the expelling of 35 Russian diplomats from America, in response to purported Russian government actions including interfering with the 2016 US presidential election.

For some interesting information regarding Rohrabacher and his foreign policy views read Justin Raimondo’s December 5 article “Dana Rohrabacher for Secretary of State?” at AntiWar.com.

Rohrabacher was recently in the news as a possible choice for the Secretary of State position in a Donald Trump administration. Trump ended up choosing Exxon Mobil Corporation CEO Rex W. Tillerson.
