Liberals Outraged After Bill Maher Says "I'm A House Ni**er"

We may have hit the moment of "peak outrage."

After months of liberal anger focused on Trump in particular, and the conservative right in general which culminated with last week"s unfortunate attempt at "humor" by Kathy Griffin, in which a severed Donald Trump head reportedly cost her her career (in her own words), overnight Bill Maher did his best to take the heat off of Griffin by focusing the next round of social outrage - especially that emanating from the left - on himself.

As the Wrap notes, "the former Politically Incorrect host proved he’s still politically incorrect when Republican Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse invited Maher to “work in the fields.” Maher"s reply prompted outrage among the liberal half of social media, as well as a barrage of calls aimed at HBO to fire Maher. Discussing his new book on Friday evening, the following exchange took place:

“I’ve got to get to Nebraska more," Maher said to Sasse.

“You’re welcome. We’d love to have you work in the fields with us," Sasse replied.

“Work in the fields? Senator, I’m a house nigger. No, it’s a joke," said Maher.

Following the exchange, much of the audience laughed and clapped even as some audience members were heard to groan. Sasse kept quiet, before Maher said: “No, it’s a joke.” Neither Mr. Maher nor Mr. Sasse addressed the comments further, and the conversation moved to other subjects.

However, it was too late and the outrage was already flowing. DeRay McKesson, a Black Lives Matter activist and former Baltimore mayoral candidate, led the criticism on social media. “Bill Maher has got to go,” he wrote. “There are no explanations that make this acceptable” He added “And why does the audience think it was OK to laugh? And Ben Sasse doesn’t even flinch. What is happening in the world?"

Somehow Trump was also thrown into the mix: “Trump has undeniably moved the posts re: what is acceptable in political discourse but we can’t sit idly by, as discourse breeds actions.”

Others joined in: “He said ‘n—er’ with a HARD ASS Rrrrrrrrrruh, so that makes this extra offensive,” said The Root writer Monique Judge, who added: “His show needs to be canceled.”

Maher did not immediately comment in response to media inquiries. On Saturday, Sasse gave his view in a series of linked tweets. “Am walking off a redeye from [Los Angeles International Airport],” he wrote, before offering “three reflections on Bill Maher”.

“I’m a first amendment absolutist. Comedians get latitude to cross hard lines. But free speech comes with a responsibility to speak up when folks use that word. Me just cringing last night wasn’t good enough.

“Here’s what I wish I’d been quick enough to say in the moment: “Hold up, why would you think it’s OK to use that word?...

“... The history of the N-word is an attack on universal human dignity. It’s therefore an attack on the American Creed. Don’t use it.”

Will HBO follow in CNN"s footsteps, which last week terminated its relationship with Griffin, and let Maher go or confirm that all the pent up outrage - on both sides of the aisle - is nothing more than a theatrical act meant to whip up audiences into a "peak outrage" frenzy?  And if the use of the "N-word is an attack on universal human dignity" does that mean the regulators will ban hip hop songs where it just happens to be the most frequently used word for "commercializing" social anger, injsutice and hatred? So much hypocrisy, so little time.

* * *

Update: accordinv to BuzzFeed, an HBO spokesperson said Maher"s comment was "completely inexcusable and tasteless" and that they would remove it from re-runs.

Which means that Maher gets to keep his job, and also that the much anticipated and long overdue "peak social outrage" moment has been postponed until the next "socially awkward" and "politically incorrect" misstep in a society just dying to be outraged each and every day.

HBO's Bill Maher Bets 100 Rubles That Trump "Will Be Out By Christmas"

HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher believes the Trump Presidency will be over before 2017 is.

During Friday night"s episode, he even goaded a guest – conservative political commentator and former Trump campaign official Boris Epshteyn – into making a “gentleman’s bet” of 100 rubles, a little less than $2, that the president "will be out by Christmas.”

“It looks like he’s trying to get impeached,” Maher argued.

You got to hand it to Epshteyn: He handled the difficult task of defending Trump to a liberal-leaning audience with remarkable poise, reminding Maher of one simple fact: There’s no evidence that Trump interfered in FBI Director James Comey’s probe of Flynn. And that prior to deciding to change his mind and testify that Trump pressured him, as CNN reported, Comey even testified to that fact.

Epshteyn also reminded the audience about Hillary Clinton’s own brush with obstruction: when President Bill Clinton boarded Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s plane for an impromptu catch-up back in June, just before the release of the Benghazi findings, while the FBI investigation into his wife was still open.

“I believe he’ll be in office for eight years,” Epshteyn said.

You can watch the rest of the exchange below:

Though Maher has been an outspoken critic of Trump, he has, on occassion, displayed some level of sense.

A few months back he hosted conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos on his show to discuss liberals’ newfound penchant for suppressing free speech. And before that, he called the University of California at Berkeley “the cradle for F-ing babies” after the university rescinded an invitation for her to speak. A few months ago, when Hillary Clinton was trying to position herself as a leader of "the resistence" - and possibly for another run in 2020 - Mahar joked that she should just "stay in the woods."

"You had your shot. You fucked up."

Bill Maher Lashes Out At Cal Berkeley's "F**king Babies"

It appears even the most liberal of Democrats are turning on their own as the virtue-signalling vacillations grow ever more mind-bending.

After University of California at Berkeley officials decision to rescind an invitation for conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter to speak on campus, only to restore the invitation for a later date...

HBO "Real Time" host Bill Maher exclaimed on his show Friday night that...

"Berkeley, you know, used to be the cradle of free speech, and now it"s just the cradle for f—king babies."

As The Hill reports, Coulter"s speech set for this Thursday was canceled due to anxiety by school officials that protests could spin out of control the same way they did in February when alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos was scheduled to speak. Riots resulted in more than $100,000 in damage to the campus and the speech was cancelled due to security concerns.

But after scathing criticism, the school reversed its decision on Coulter on Thursday, and will host the speech on May 2.

“I feel like this is the liberals’ version of book burning, and it’s got to stop," Maher said before taking aim at former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean for his tweet stating hate speech isn"t protected by the First Amendment.

“Yes it is!” Maher insisted.

“Threats are not protected by the First Amendment,” the host added.

“It doesn"t mean "just shut up and agree with me.’”

Conservative commentator S.E. Cupp, a panelist on Maher’s show Friday, doubled down on Maher’s criticism.

“It’s a shame,” she said. “Liberals are creating a fantasy land on college campuses that does not exist in the real world.”

Maher and Coulter are longtime friends. She has appeared on "Real Time" on multiple occasions over the years. “I obviously don’t believe in his politics, but I like him. He’s a true and loyal friend. He always has been,” Coulter told Sean Hannity last year.

Ironically, as The Hill notes, Maher was UC-Berkeley"s 2014 fall commencement speaker, but students at the time started a petition to have him removed over a disagreement on the atheist comedian"s views on religion and Islamic terror.

Orgy Enthusiast Bill Maher Defends Statutory Rape On Several Occasions - "The Crime Is That We Didn't Get It On Videotape"

What an interesting turn of events. Days after outspoken Trump-supporter Milo Yiannopoulos appeared on Bill Maher"s panel of idiots where he was subject to a liberal hit-job, the left decided to execute operation McMuffin; a collaboration between liberals and former CIA "never-Trumper" Evan McMullin to strategically release dredged up flippant remarks Milo made about homosexual grooming - which led to a canceled book deal and his resignation as tech editor for Breitbart. With over 1500 sex trafficking and child exploitation arrests in the first month of Trump"s presidency, this was clearly the left"s desperate attempt to try and insinuate some sort of hypocrisy on the right concerning pedophilia. Weak.

The MSM, predictably, wasted no time attacking Milo - a strategy which surely couldn"t backfire:

Salon.com even deleted a pro-pedophilia article so they wouldn"t look like total hypocrites when they ran an story quoting Bill Maher, who took credit for kicking off the Milo smear campaign:

Hours later, thanks to 4chan and Reddit - the tides are turning, and Bill Maher"s about to get blown the fuck out...

Turns out the 61 year old host of HBO"s Real Time With Bill Maher, who attends a $75K / year elite Los Angeles sex club, is also a huge fan of pedophilia as long as the abuser is a woman - as told in a 2007 issue of Playboy magazine:

This isn"t the first time Maher has defended statutory rape. While the official DSM definition of pedophilia has an age cutoff of 13, the HBO host vehemently defended former teacher and convicted statutory child rapist Mary Kay Letourneau for having a sexual relationship with one of her students, which began when the boy was 12 - firmly putting Maher"s advocacy for the relationship in pedo territory.

(Note how Henry Rollins is completely on point?)

Karma Bill, karma. Oh, and about that sex club mentioned earlier; it appears Maher is into some Eyes Wide Shut shit. While normally I wouldn"t care - the hypocrisy of his ivory tower judgment of a gay conservative, and the fact that he piled on and took credit for kicking off Milo"s "downfall" for the exact same practice he"s advocated several times, makes it fair game to point out that the HBO host loves him some expensive orgies!

At a swanky party in a Beverly Hills, Calif., mansion last Saturday, I spot Bill Maher in a sea of beautiful young women and make my approach.

“Are you a Leo?” I ask the host of HBO’s “Real Time,” while eyeing a lion pendant around his neck.

“No, they make me wear this stupid thing because I’m a member,” he replies, stroking the back of his date, a pretty younger woman in a short black leather dress.

Single men pay $1,850 per party, or $1,500 if they come with a female partner. For the erotic elite, there’s an annual Dominus membership for $75,000, which includes admission to all parties, a sterling-silver necklace with a lion pendant and access to private rooms at parties and Lawner’s network of sex experts.

The sex club also has an interesting initiation:

Dominus members sign a “blood oath,” involving blood and a paper document, to join — but Lawner won’t go into details. -NY Post

What??? AIDS tests are in the back of the store at the pharmacy counter, Bill.

The crickets are warming up for yet another prolonged silence from the MSM.
