Hours after several of Donald Trump"s accusers assembled for a Monday press conference to call on congress to launch an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct lodged against the President, Bill O"Reilly appeared on Glenn Beck"s radio show to discuss what he claims is the existence of a tape showing a woman being offered $200,000 to accuse Donald Trump of "untoward behavior." 

O"Reilly told Beck that his lawyer listened to the tape and that there are at least three crimes contained on it: 

O"Reilly: There is a tape, Beck, an audio tape of an anti-Trump person offering $200,000 to a woman to accuse Donald Trump of untoward behavior. 

 

Beck: Is this tape going to be released? 

 

O"Reilly: I may have to go to the US Attorney myself. I don"t wanna have to do that and inject myself into the story, but I had my lawyer listen to the tape. He"s listened to it. There are at least three crimes on the tape. So as a citizen, I may have to do this. 

 

Beck: I will tell you Bill, the first thing that you say - well I"m trying to get it, I"m trying to get it so it can be released. You weren"t talking about getting it for YOU to release it, but it had to be out there. And I think the first time I said to you, I mean, if they don"t - you"ve gotta bring it to the US Attorney.

 

O"Reilly: Again, it"s in the hands of someone who knows the seriousness of the situation. 

 

Beck: What is their hesitancy?

 

O"Reilly: You know, I can"t really get into that at this point. But I can tell you that Donald Trump knows about the tape. And I"m, for the life of me, sitting here going "Why on earth are you allowing a movement to try to smear you when you have a powerful - and I mean it"s powerful - piece of evidence that shows that this is an industry. That there are false charges and money changing hands." It"s so frustrating but I wanted your listeners to know it, it"s there, it"s amazing, and it will change the whole discussion if it ever gets out.

O"Reilly first divulged the existence of the tape six weeks ago in a largely unnoticed interview with Newsmax: 

O"Reilly told Newsmax on Monday that investigators working for him had uncovered an audio recording of "an anti-Trump attorney" offering an unidentified woman $200,000 to file sexual harassment charges against then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump.

 

"It exists," O"Reilly said. "We have urged the person who has the tape to hand it over to the U.S. attorney, because my investigative team believes there are three separate crimes on the audio tape."

 

O"Reilly tells Newsmax his attorneys have listened to the tape. O"Reilly stated he is not in possession of the recording, but the conversation is believed to have taken place before last year"s presidential election.

 

"It"s related to my situation," O"Reilly insists, "and when the tape emerges, you will see why. I can"t say any more than that, but it is related to my situation."

With the "Russiagate" witch hunt fizzling out amid revelations that Special Counsel Robert Mueller"s probe is stacked with several anti-Trump team investigators, O"Reilly warns that there"s going to be a huge push to rehash sexual misconduct allegations against the President. While several of these claims have been debunked or refuted, and Trump even threatening to sue the NYT at one point, it will come as a surprise to exactly nobody if and when "Russiagate" shifts into "Gropegate" in 2018.

Fox News gives Bill O’Reilly $25M final payout

With Bill O’Reilly officially ousted by Fox News, there was speculation whether the former Fox anchorman would receive a lump sum payout as a parting settlement considering that O’Reilly signed a new 4-year contract just before being ousted. It has now been confirmed by FT and CNN that indeed, O’Reilly will get a payout of $25 million, equivalent to one year’s salary, as part of his exit settlement with 21st Century Fox.

“The amended contract provides for Bill to receive a maximum of one year’s salary,” said a person with knowledge of the terms quoted by the FT.

O’Reilly’s payout, following the presenter’s dismissal from Fox News this week after a 22-year career with the network, is less than the $40m Roger Ailes, the network’s former chairman, received when he was fired in similar circumstances last year.

At an event in New York on Wednesday night, James Murdoch, the company’s CEO, was asked by a New York Times reporter about the abrupt exit.

Murdoch said “we did a thorough investigation, a thorough review, and we reached a conclusion. Everything that we said in our statement is all you need to know.”

O’Reilly issued a statement that reaffirmed his innocence, saying “it is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today.”

Report: James Murdoch plans to turn Fox News into yet another progressive establishment news outlet

(INTELLIHUB) — With the stunning ouster of both Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly, Rupert Murdoch’s son has “overthrown” Fox News and now plans to reinvent the network into yet another progressive propaganda machine, according to a report in the Hollywood Reporter. 

The report claims that James Murdoch has had a long-time annoyance, perhaps even disgust, with Fox News and has used the sexual harassment charges leveled against Ailes and O’Reilly to essentially take over the network which will soon undergo tremendous change that brings the cable outlet back in line with the global world order.

“Most immediately, this means that Fox News, that constant irritant in James’ view of himself as a progressive and visionary television executive, will begin to change. Virtually overnight,” reads the report.

The report continues, “James’ dream, wherein he hopes to match his father’s accomplishments, and which he has been spinning for all who might listen for many years now, is of combining Sky News and Fox News with the vast Murdoch reach and producing some ultimate global news brand. Where Fox News is parochial and America First, the new global brand is worldly and unlimited. It will give his family’s company, once the pirate company, new meaning and new stature — a force for stability instead of upheaval. Murdoch media, in an age of populist disruption, will stand for the established world order.”

That’s right, what started as an openly hard-left boycott campaign against O’Reilly is now set to bring about a complete 180 in how Fox News covers the news, with the network set to drop any sort of populist bent in favor of globalism.

While one could make an argument that Fox News was always part of the establishment, this news is striking in that it reveals that the only major network that doesn’t spend 24/7 attacking Donald Trump and has made its name as a conservative news outlet has been taken over by a man who openly wants to be a part of the liberal global order.

Interestingly, the announcement that Tucker Carlson would be taking over O’Reilly’s spot doesn’t seem to line up with Murdoch’s purported plans of turning the network away from populism. In the coming months we could easily see Carlson removed from Fox News as well, especially considering his attacks on the same global order that James Murdoch now wants his network to be a part of.

Bill O'Reilly To Leave Fox: NY Mag

Amid his sudden "vacation", and following initial rumors of a split within the Murdochs over Bill O"Reilly"s future, NYMag.com is reporting that the Murdochs have decided his 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end.

According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce O’Reilly’s departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. Now the big questions are how the exit will look and who will replace him.

Wednesday morning, according to sources, executives are holding emergency meetings to discuss how they can sever the relationship with the country’s highest-rated cable-news host without causing collateral damage to the network. The board of Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the matter. Sources briefed on the discussions say O’Reilly’s exit negotiations are moving quickly.

NYMag"s Gabriel Sherman notes that:

the Murdochs’ decision to dump O’Reilly shocked many Fox News staffers I’ve spoken to in recent days. Late last week, the feeling inside the company was that Rupert Murdoch would prevail over his son James, who lobbied to jettison the embattled host.

It’s still unclear exactly how the tide turned.

Spokespersons for 21st Century Fox and Fox News did not respond to requests for comment, nor did O’Reilly’s agent, Carole Cooper.
