(INTELLIHUB) — Mexican archeologists have discovered the existence of an underground tunnel underneath the Pyramid of the Moon in the ancient city of Teotihuacán.
The tunnel runs from underneath the pyramid and connects to the central square where human sacrifices were said to have taken place in front of massive crowds of up to 100,000 people.
It’s believed that the tunnel may have been constructed to mimic the path to the “underworld.”
