A major fire has broken out at NYU Langone Medical Center. The city"s office of emergency management is urging people to avoid the area as crews battle the blaze at First Avenue and East 30th Street. Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen wafting up from the hospital and could be seen as far away as Fifth Avenue. It"s not clear what sparked the blaze.
