Egypt says ‘Bitcoin’ currency is prohibited by Islam

Egypt’s Dar Al Iftaa yesterday issued a Fatwa (Islamic ruling) that deems the Bitcoin virtual currency as forbidden by Islam and that "Bitcoin could be harmful to the country’s social and economic security"
