President Trump’s State of the Union Speech

Last night, President Trump gave his first State of the Union Speech. It was a very good speech, as indicated by the fact that it received a 70-75% approval rating (depending on which poll numbers you look at).

CNN, that bastion of globalism and anti-Trumpism, was embarrassed at the results of its own poll and immediately sought to discredit it.

In the speech, Trump strongly promoted his “America First” policies. Those policies have resonated with the American people, despite the obstructionist Democrats and globalists, who have sought to make America into “internationalist” toadies. Trump’s speech showed America he will have none of that.

Trump celebrated America. He celebrated the hardworking people of America. That he promoted American culture is, of course, anathema to the globalists, who seek to destroy our culture, but Trump proudly put our culture on display.

When the cameras panned the assembled Senators and Representatives, we could readily see the disdain of Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Sen. Corey Booker, of New York, who looked to be ready to burst with anger at what he was witnessing. Do they think of America First? Their disdain of Trump’s message says otherwise.

Trump spoke to Americans, not to the Washington Insiders. He put those Insiders on notice that he fully intended to continue his “America First” campaign, to “Make America Great Again”.
