Blacksmithing is the art of forming iron into a desired shape. The following video gives some of the basics about the art.
About 35 years ago, I knew a fellow who was a blacksmith. It took him a while to develop his skill, but once he had mastered it, he had work backed up for months. He made wrought iron railings, hinges, square nails for restoration projects and many other things. He also made weathervanes. In SHTF scenarios, a blacksmith in your community will be very needed.
