
Are more asteroids on the way?
OUTERSPACE (INTELLIHUB) — A seven-meter wide asteroid named 2017 HV2 narrowly missed earth Sunday by 0.33 Lunar Distance, which is just one-third of the way to the moon or 79,000 miles away.
The rogue space rock flew by at a speed of 21,000 miles per hour and marks the 17th asteroid to fly between the Earth and the moon this year.
The asteroid was discovered by a survey just hours before its passing.
