Merry Christmas To All

mangerIt is Christmas Eve in Montana. It is snowing, and very peaceful. I still have presents to wrap, and smile in anticipation of watching them being opened. After a turbulent year, it is nice to have this peaceful time to reflect, and to pause to remember what Christmas means. Christmas, regardless of your personal beliefs, is a traditional time in America, for good will to our fellow men and women, and to enjoy the faces of the children, as they anticipate the gifts of Christmas morning, as they watch the presents under the decorated tree, with colored lights, bulbs and perhaps some garlands or tinsel. It is a time for family, good food and friendly conversation.

For Christians, it is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, and to reflect on the meaning of our faith. Still, the traditions of the Christmas season, such as the tree, St. Nick and many of the carols, derive from pagan sources; not that it really matters, for Christmas is a special time of year for believers and non-believers alike. It is a time of smiles, good will, joy and hope. The future always looks brighter at Christmas time. Soon, the realities of life will once more be in the forefront of our minds, but for a short period of time, we can put them on the back burner. It is time now for love, joy, family and hope.

From those of us at Oath Keepers, we wish you a very merry Christmas, and a happy New Year. May you be blessed with joy and love.
