Las Vegas, NV — As America frantically waits for a motive to be released by police as to why and how a psychopath massacred 59 innocent people and injured over 500 others, the more information that comes out, the more questions arise. In this latest revelation, it appears he could’ve been seeking a different target a week prior.
According to a report from the NY Post, Las Vegas mass shooter Stephen Paddock may have tried to carry out his mass murder at a rap concert one week prior to the country music festival at Route 91.
As the Post reports:
Last weekend, he tried to rent a room overlooking a music festival a few miles away from the scene of his carnage Sunday, a law-enforcement source told The Post.
But Paddock couldn’t get a room that looked out onto the Life is Beautiful Festival, headlined by Chance the Rapper and Lorde and held in Sin City Sept. 22-24, the source said.
That festival was held several miles north of the Route 91 music festival that the cowardly Paddock sprayed with bullets from a 32nd-floor suite in the Mandalay Bay casino on Sunday.
According to ABC, they received similar information:

Paddock allegedly rented multiple condos at The Ogden complex in downtown Las Vegas, which overlooked the location of the Life is Beautiful Festival. A spokeswoman for The Ogden referred questions to Las Vegas police.
At a press conference on Tuesday, authorities were asked if there was any indication Paddock was planning an earlier attack. “No. I’m not prepared to speak about that, but that is part of our investigation,” they replied.
The fact that he opened fire on a country music festival, which was obviously largely attended by pro-Trump folks and Republicans, in general, has been at the forefront of what people think motivated Paddock.

The site Infowars.com attempted to assert—without any proof—that police said Paddock was an anti-Trump liberal with ties to Antifa. While this is entirely plausible, the fact that Paddock attempted to rent a room above a rap concert, which likely would have been attended by a largely different demographic, tells a different story.
Naturally, both sides of the political spectrum are hoping for Stephen Paddock to identify with their rival party. That way they can use the logical fallacy of false equivalence to paint their political enemies as mass murderers.
In fact, however, it is entirely possible that perhaps one of the reasons police are taking so long to release a motive—is that he didn’t have one. Perhaps, Paddock snapped and simply went on a killing spree.
As the Free Thought Project reported on Wednesday, it was revealed that Paddock was prescribed psychotropic drugs which can cause people to be violent.
This information was given to the Las Vegas Review-Journal by a source within law enforcement who was not authorized to speak publicly about this case.
As the Journal reports:
Records from the Nevada Prescription Monitoring Program obtained Tuesday show Paddock was prescribed 50 10-milligram diazepam tablets by Henderson physician Dr. Steven Winkler on June 21.
A woman who answered the phone at Winkler’s office would not make him available to answer questions and would neither confirm nor deny that Paddock was ever a patient.
Paddock purchased the drug — its brand name is Valium — without insurance at a Walgreens store in Reno on the same day it was prescribed. He was supposed to take one pill a day.
Valium, although often used as a sedative and calming medication, can have serious side effects of aggression. According to the FDA, diazepam can elicit the following side effects:
confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior;
unusual risk-taking behavior, decreased inhibitions, no fear of danger;
depressed mood, thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself;
hyperactivity, agitation, aggression, hostility;
“If somebody has an underlying aggression problem and you sedate them with that drug, they can become aggressive,” said Dr. Mel Pohl, chief medical officer of the Las Vegas Recovery Center. “It can disinhibit an underlying emotional state. … It is much like what happens when you give alcohol to some people … they become aggressive instead of going to sleep.”

Perhaps the reason police have no background information on Paddock is that he was a nobody who did nothing and never presented a threat until the day he snapped and decided to kill people.
No matter how people try and spin this mass murder to fit their agenda, the fact remains that there are likely thousands of people, if not more, mourning the loss of family members and friends killed in Las Vegas on Sunday. No amount of spin or political shaming will change that.
