Shocking surveillance footage of the man who jumped the White House fence shows that he lingered on the ground for 17 minutes, tied his shoes, and peered into windows as alarms were blaring – all in plain view of the public and without the knowledge of the Secret Service, it was reported on Tuesday.
Jonathan Tuan-Anh Tran, 26, was carrying a backpack with two cans of mace when he scaled the fence of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because he said he had an appointment with his ‘friend,’ President Donald Trump, on the night of March 10.
Tran faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison for trespassing.
The Secret Service released a statement shortly after the incident saying that at no time did Tran ever manage to enter the White House.
